You will own the roadmap for fraud prevention and transaction monitoring. That covers the rules, models and systems that flag risky activity, and the tools teams use to review it. You’ll use AI to clear routine alerts automatically, so people can focus on the cases that need a person. You’ll work closely with Compliance, Operations, Data, Engineering and the Financial Investigation Unit. Because this is a new capability, you’ll shape it from the ground up and, over time, build the team that runs it. Responsibilities: Own and prioritize the product roadmap for fraud prevention and transaction monitoring within the agreed financial crime strategy. Translate fraud threats, money-laundering risk scenarios and control requirements into clear product requirements, detection logic and acceptance criteria. Lead the development of rules, models and preventive controls with Engineering, Data, Operations and Compliance. Apply AI and machine learning where they demonstrably improve detection, prevention and case handling. Establish reliable, timely data inputs for detection. Identify gaps in data quality, availability or coverage and prioritise their resolution. Evaluate proposed controls using historical data and realistic test scenarios. Assess detection coverage, missed activity, false positives and the impact on legitimate customers. Deliver changes through the agreed approval process, with clear testing, staged rollout, monitoring and rollback plans. Measure performance after release, including fraud losses, detection effectiveness and customer friction. Use the findings to improve controls without treating fewer alerts as proof of success. Adapt fraud prevention and transaction monitoring capabilities to emerging threats, new products, markets and transaction types. Make readiness requirements and unresolved coverage gaps visible before launch. Coordinate delivery across product teams and control owners, making priorities, dependencies and trade-offs clear and escalating decisions that require accountable leadership. Requirements: 5+ years in product ownership or product management, including end-to-end ownership of a product roadmap at a senior level. Strong financial crime experience covering both fraud and money laundering, gained in fintech, banking, payments or another regulated business. Hands-on experience building detection capabilities such as rules, models or transaction monitoring systems. Experience using AI or automation to reduce manual alert review, for example automated customer outreach, while keeping people on complex cases. Strong data skills: you understand where data comes from and how reliable it is, and you can evaluate detection using historical data, coverage and false-positive analysis. Experience releasing changes to live controls safely, with testing, staged rollout, monitoring and rollback. Prepare Operations and Compliance for product changes, support adoption and resolve issues after launch. Feed quality reviews, audit findings and recurring operational problems into the roadmap. Requirements: 5+ years in product ownership or product management, including end-to-end ownership of a product roadmap at a senior level. Strong financial crime experience across investigations, AML, fraud or customer offboarding, gained in fintech, banking or another regulated business. A track record of building workflow or case-management products for operational users. Experience shipping AI or automation that cut manual work while keeping people in charge of key decisions. Ability to write precise requirements and work closely with engineers on complex, failure-tolerant workflows.
