- Act as a trusted advisor to prospects and customers, learning their needs and demonstrating how our products can solve real problems
- Drive proof-of-concept efforts, working with sales engineers and product experts to demonstrate tangible value
- Stay on top of product updates and industry trends to educate customers and shape the conversation around GenAI adoption
- Build long-term customer relationships and support post-sale success in partnership with our deployment and support teams
- Negotiate pricing and deal terms and work with legal to redline contracts
- Bring customer insights back to product and engineering teams to inform the future roadmap and improve the user experience
- Help define and iterate on our sales playbook - your input will help shape our go to market strategies
How to be successful in this role:
- 5+ years of experience selling complex software to enterprise customers
- A relationship builder that garners trust quickly and approaches sales with empathy and curiosity
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills
- Technical acumen with the ability to establish credibility with technical decision makers.
- You thrive in fast-paced start-up environments and are energized by impact - you want to help evolve the playbook, not just follow one
- Driven and solutions-oriented; you know how to navigate roadblocks and keep deals moving forward

ABOUT BASETEN
Baseten powers mission-critical inference for the world's most dynamic AI companies, like Cursor, Notion, OpenEvidence, Abridge, Clay, Gamma, and Writer. By uniting applied AI research, flexible infrastructure, and seamless developer tooling, we enable companies operating at the frontier of AI to bring cutting-edge models into production. We're growing quickly and recently raised our $1.5B Series F https://www.baseten.co/blog/announcing-our-series-f/, led by Altimeter Capital, Conviction Partners, and Spark Capital. Join us and help build the platform engineers turn to ship AI products.
We are looking for an engineer with strong experience in machine learning and solid foundations in math and computer science to join our growing Post-Training team at Baseten.
THE ROLE
Custom models are instrumental to the success of Baseten customers. By inference volume, the overwhelming majority of traffic at Baseten is to and from models that have been post-trained in some way, whether that be through reinforcement learning, supervised finetuning, a recent technique from the literature, or an in-house research technique from Baseten. The Post-Training team is responsible for the success of our customers’ post-trained models, and we employ a wide array of techniques to produce models that are more efficient and higher quality than even the biggest closed source models for the customer’s specific needs.
Your role as a research engineer is to build the in-house tooling to support all of this. We care about training a wide spectrum of different model architectures with a variety of techniques efficiently and at scale. At times this involves zooming deep into a particular technical topic, but more often it involves working across the stack as a whole - systems-level concepts like Kubernetes, cgroups, storage systems, and networking topologies, as well as PyTorch distributed tensor computation, and GPU kernels.
The Manifesto: https://labs.baseten.co/manifesto
RECENT RESEARCH
- Dense, on-policy or both? https://www.baseten.co/research/dense-on-policy-or-both/
- Repeated kv cache for long-running agents https://www.baseten.co/research/repeated-kv-cache-for-long-running-agents/
- Distillation without the dark – replicating black-box on-policy distillation on Baseten https://www.baseten.co/research/distillation-without-the-dark/
We don’t have a rigid set of skills, but here’s some of what we’re looking for:
- A deep understanding of modern ML techniques and tools for training transformers
- Advanced experience in a tensor/array computation library like PyTorch, TensorFlow, Jax, or similar
- A detailed understanding of transformer training parallelism strategies like data parallelism, sharded data parallelism, tensor parallelism, pipeline parallelism, context parallelism
- The experience and knowledge to profile and improve the performance of a distributed GPU program in PyTorch or a similar library
- The ability to perform roofline analysis on a transformer training setup
- A willingness to dive into messy problems, work with researchers, derive specifications by asking important questions, and execute
- Familiarity with HPC and distributed computing platforms like Slurm, Ray, Kubernetes, and Dask
- Familiarity with cluster networking technology like Infiniband, RoCE, GPUDirect
- Solid fundamentals in operating systems concepts like processes, files, kernel drivers, containerization, and networking protocols
- A sense of creativity and willingness to ask difficult questions about our approach, assumptions, and tooling choices
BENEFITS
- Competitive compensation, including meaningful equity
- (U.S. only) 100% coverage of medical, dental, and vision insurance for employee and dependents
- Flexible PTO policy including company wide Winter Break (our offices are closed from Christmas Eve to New Year's Day!)
- Paid parental leave
- Fertility and family-building stipend through Carrot
- (U.S. only) Company-facilitated 401(k)
- Exposure to a variety of ML startups, offering unparalleled learning and networking opportunities.
Apply now to embark on a rewarding journey in shaping the future of AI! If you are a motivated individual with a passion for machine learning and a desire to be part of a collaborative and forward-thinking team, we would love to hear from you.
At Baseten, we are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. We provide equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, genetic information, disability, or veteran status.

Responsibilities:
Serve as Incident Commander for major incidents — coordinating cross-functional response teams, driving investigation, making escalation decisions, and ensuring incidents are resolved within SLA targets.
Own all incident communications: draft and send clear, timely updates to senior leadership, Customer Success, and partner/customer contacts throughout the incident lifecycle, and manage customer-facing status page updates (status.xsolla.com).
Facilitate blameless Post-Incident Reviews (PIRs) for major incidents — leading root cause identification, assigning corrective actions with clear owners and deadlines, and tracking them to closure.
During non-incident periods, proactively analyze incident trends, recurring issues, and production bugs — identify patterns, create Problem tickets, and report findings and recommendations to product and engineering teams on a regular cadence.
Enforce the incident management framework across the organization, including the severity model, priority matrix, SLA targets, escalation procedures, and deployment readiness gates.
Oversee and mentor the Operations Engineer on your shift — coaching on triage, investigation, runbook execution, and documentation quality while conducting regular knowledge transfer sessions to build depth across the service portfolio.
Produce shift handoff reports and deliver regular operational reporting: incident trends, KPI performance (MTTD, MTTA, MTTR), SLA adherence, proactive detection rate, and repeat incident analysis.

Experience in the gaming industry is required. Payments or fintech industry experience is a plus.
Proven incident management experience — coordinating multi-team response, making real-time escalation decisions, and communicating with executive stakeholders under pressure.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English — ability to draft clear, concise executive updates at 3 AM under pressure, facilitate blameless PIRs, present operational metrics to senior leadership, and communicate incident status to customers and partners with clarity and professionalism.
Strong ITIL foundation — understanding of incident, problem, and change management lifecycles with practical experience implementing or operating ITIL-aligned workflows.
Technical depth across the observability stack — ability to read and interpret logs, traces, and metrics in Datadog (or equivalent: Grafana, Splunk, New Relic). Understanding of APM, SLOs, error budgets, burn-rate alerting, and synthetic monitoring.
Hands-on experience with incident tooling: Datadog, PagerDuty or OpsGenie, JIRA or JIRA Service Management, Slack, and Confluence.
Analytical mindset — ability to identify trends, patterns, and recurring issues from incident data and translate them into actionable recommendations for product and engineering teams.
Experience with SLA/SLO-driven operations where MTTD, MTTA, and MTTR are measured, reported, and improved.
Experience with or strong interest in AI/ML-assisted operations: anomaly detection, alert correlation, predictive alerting, automated remediation, or self-healing automation.
Comfort with 24x7 shift-based operations as part of a follow-the-sun model with handoff overlaps. Weekend on-call (rotating) for critical severities is required.
Nice to Have:

JIRA Service Management administration experience: workflows, SLA timers, automation rules, queues, and permissions.
Familiarity with Datadog Service Catalog, scorecards, and SLOs — especially burn-rate alerts and multi-window SLOs.
Experience building an operations function from scratch — defining processes, writing runbooks, establishing governance cadences.
Background in Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure (GCP preferred), microservices architecture, or distributed systems.
ITIL certification (Foundation or higher) is a plus but not required.

What the Role Is
The modern tech stack has collapsed the distance between designing an experience and shipping it. We're hiring Staff Product Designers to build the next generation of Babylist by leveraging this reality.
The
Staff Product Designer
is the durable design owner of a major Babylist experience - the person the rest of the company looks to when a hard question about that experience has to get answered. Equal parts skilled designer, hands-on researcher, and AI-enabled builder, you own how things feel, think broadly about user flows across the full Babylist experience, and hold the vision for whether something is intuitive, beautiful, and emotionally right for the user. You work alongside product managers, engineers, and data partners, but you are the one driving the experience layer and making sure every interaction meets both the functional and emotional needs of our users to drive impactful outcomes for the business.
You flex beyond the basics by running research, standing up working prototypes (in hours not days), and contributing to production-quality front-end code ensuring polish is never a trade-off. You help Babylist make the transition into AI-native product development by setting the standard others adopt for what an AI-native designer does every day — in your own work and in the codified workflows you set for the team around you.
In this role, you shape how parents discover products, build their registry, receive gifts, and navigate early parenthood across web and native mobile. These are not casual interactions. Families are making decisions during one of the most meaningful and overwhelming transitions of their lives. The experience has to be easy to use, easy to understand, and worthy of the trust they place in us.
Who You Are
Craft and experience obsessed.
You care deeply about how things feel, not just how they function — the transitions, motion, and details most people can't articulate but everyone responds to. You have a portfolio of shipped consumer product work across web and native mobile that proves it.
A systems thinker.
You see how a single interaction fits into a broader flow, how flows connect across products, and how the design system enables all of it. You design for coherence, not just screens.
Industry aware and pattern fluent.
You know the interaction patterns and design conventions that have become table stakes — and when to apply them versus evolve them for what Babylist families actually need.
Human-and-data-centered.
You plan and run generative and evaluative research yourself, bring concrete qualitative and quantitative evidence into design decisions, and communicate design rationale clearly and persuasively.
A product strategist and critical thinker.
You articulate and defend where a product is going and why, working backwards from a vision. You question assumptions and distinguish between what the data says and what people want it to say, bringing everyone from ICs to the C-suite along with clarity.
Feedback fan.
You build feedback loops into your process from the start — putting prototypes in front of users early, sharing in-progress work before it's polished, and actively soliciting critique that makes it better.
AI-native and a real builder.
You move from a rough concept to an interactive prototype in hours, not weeks, and write production frontend code yourself rather than depending on an engineer to translate your mock. You have a portfolio of work built this way.
Outcome owner.
You instrument your own work, track whether it's moving the right metrics, and make clean iterate/pivot/stop calls based on evidence, not attachment.
Adaptable and low-ego.
You jump in where needed across team boundaries without waiting for permission, and you bring curiosity to ambiguity rather than anxiety.
You naturally reach for AI in your work
. At Babylist, every team uses AI daily. You're already using it to move faster and improve your output, and you stay curious about what's coming next.
How You Will Make An Impact
Own a customer journey or major product experience end-to-end
. Think holistically about user flows, brand expression, information architecture, and interaction patterns across the full Babylist product ecosystem - both web and native app - working with other designers and teams as needed.
Set the design vision for your experience.
Articulate where the experience should be in 12–18 months and define the sequence of bets that gets it there. Earn organizational alignment around a direction, not just consensus, and update your point of view with conviction and speed when evidence or business needs change.
Design and build experiences that drive outcomes
. That means using sound judgement to create experiences that solve real problems, are intuitive under stress, simple when decisions are complex, and delightful when the moment calls for it.
Define excellence.
Set the bar for quality, delight, and product excellence by demonstrating and teaching the organization what great looks and feels like. Eschew perfection for learning that propels the product toward your high bar.
Stay deeply connected to users
. Talk to customers. Plan and execute research to ground design decisions in how families actually behave. Create fast feedback loops through user testing, Babylist communities, and other channels. Your design decisions are grounded in reality, not assumption.
Contribute to and evolve Babylist's design system
. Build reusable components, define interaction patterns, and ensure consistency across web and native mobile.
Operate with agency.
Don't wait for permission — create the conditions for your success, starting before you have the full picture and bringing others along as you learn. High-velocity teams are the ones where agency is contagious.
Build with AI-native workflows
. Research synthesis, rapid prototyping, production code, design system evolution, interaction exploration. Show your team what's possible by doing it yourself leveraging AI - then share and teach what’s working.
Write production frontend code
. Work in the codebase to implement, refine, and polish the experiences you design. Close the gap between what a design looks like in Figma and what a user actually touches - finding and fixing rough edges without being asked. The transitions, the micro-interactions, the loading states, the empty states, the error states, the keyboard behavior. Own all of it.
Scale design democratization.
Build AI-enabled workflows that bring product managers, engineers, and other collaborators into design tools, creating the conditions for non-designers to contribute meaningfully to the experience layer. Act as a consultant and quality bar on that work, not a gatekeeper. Scale shared literacy around what good looks like, so the people working alongside you can make better decisions independently.
Develop the designers around you.
Give specific, timely feedback that makes their work measurably better. Contribute to hiring. Share the tools, patterns, and practices that help the broader team prototype faster, build with more polish, and ship with confidence. The designers who work alongside you should grow because of it.
Multiply your team.
Be an excellent partner to engineers, product managers, and analysts as your co-builders to move the highest-impact work forward with strong communication and collaboration. Bring tighter problem framing, sharper user insight, and prototypes that make decisions easier to make. Design the repeatable, low-friction systems that let everyone on your team, including you, ship faster without sacrificing quality.

We’re looking for a Staff Program Manager for our Central Engineering Operations team to help us reach our goals and help our Engineering team be the best that it can be!
The mission for the Staff Program Manager, Central Engineering Operations, is to drive operational excellence and improve execution effectiveness across key Engineering and R&D areas. Our Engineering organization is grouped into a number of functional global groups that are utilizing various processes, systems, tools, and KPIs in order to jointly deliver best-in-class data pipelines and drive innovation.
The role focuses on increasing engineering and R&D efficiency and effectiveness in delivering our strategic objectives by leading end-to-end major process and efficiency improvement projects and programs.

You have worked closely with cross-functional teams with design, research, product, and engineering. Preferably, you work at a tech company and are heavily involved in engineering operations, understanding how engineering and R&D processes work under the hood and how to take them to the next level, leveraging data-driven approaches.
We want you to bring your passion for problem-solving, experience in the tech world, and the drive to help us get to the next level, and have some fun along the way.
This is a full-time position based out of our Novi Sad office. Our hybrid work model offers a blend of remote flexibility and in-person collaboration, including two days in the office each week to connect and build as a team.
What You’ll Do
Ensure operations and strategy execution work seamlessly and effectively, and streamline engineering and R&D processes to be simple, value-oriented, and scalable.
Lead and manage engineering and R&D process enhancements to set up or improve engineering and cross-departmental processes, and be responsible for transitioning them to operational state (all in coordination with key stakeholders), resulting in documented, repeatable, and measurable processes. This includes end-to-end work from problem definition and data analysis through solution proposal, alignment with R&D leadership, and execution and adoption of the changes.
Partner with engineering group leaders to improve planning, execution, and operational health within their organizations, with a particular focus on increasing the efficiency, stability, and effectiveness in the delivery of their strategic objectives.
Support engineering leadership in quarterly planning, tracking OKRs, and driving execution against strategic priorities in consistent alignment with engineering-wide and R&D policies and practices.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to the team of operations managers to manage engineering initiatives, solve problems, and optimize and automate routine operations, increasing the team's and engineering's value-added time.
Work closely with senior engineers and leadership teams to ensure strict adherence to operational processes. Conduct audits and check-ins to identify areas for improvement and ensure continuous process refinement.

Manage R&D-wide initiatives. Coordinate and oversee the preparation, planning, and delivery of engineering updates, events, and R&D-wide initiatives, ensuring alignment with corporate goals.
Drive operational excellence across R&D: spearhead and champion global operational strategies, focusing on optimizing engineering processes to be more efficient, scalable, and aligned with the company’s long-term vision.
Skills We’re Looking For
6+ years of experience in technical/operations management in the technology/software development industry with technical expertise that enables you to define automation requirements, automate operational workflows, and perform data analysis using query languages and AI.
Ability to work directly with senior leadership on programs, including leading R&D-wide (engineering, product, design, security) initiatives from start to finish.
Proven experience in optimizing operations on an Engineering and R&D scale, creating actionable plans, and managing execution to enhance operational effectiveness, efficiency, and scalability across multiple engineering teams and departments, and adhering to various compliance requirements.
You can facilitate discussions with engineering subject matter experts on topics such as System Design, Data Architecture, Infrastructure Management (including cost management), Quality, etc., in the context of engineering operations.
Ability to leverage AI to increase your own productivity and leverage it in the solutions you’re building.
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact and collaborate with technical and non-technical groups at all levels.
A data-driven and action-oriented mindset with excellent planning, analytical, problem-solving, project/program management, organizational, and leadership skills.

Familiarity with project management tools like Jira and analytical tools like Looker and Sigma.
Experience working at cloud platforms and SaaS companies in the past is a plus.
Familiarity with the following technologies is a plus: Cloud service providers (AWS, GCP, Azure), ETL or ELT, modern data stack.

WHO WE ARE
Enterprise at Baseten means the companies with the most to gain from AI and the most complexity in getting there: large digital natives running products at massive scale, and category leaders in software, financial services, healthcare, and beyond. They have the data, the distribution, and the budget. Most are still deciding what to build, what to run themselves, and what it should cost.
That makes this a consultative sale. You'll spend as much time helping a VP of Engineering pressure-test their AI strategy as you will selling against an alternative, mapping use cases, framing build-vs-buy, and giving clear recommendations grounded in what you've seen work at the frontier. Then you'll do the enterprise work: multithreading across a buying committee, navigating security and procurement, and turning a first workload into an eight-figure relationship.
You'll work alongside our founders, forward-deployed engineers, and GTM leadership, in a seat where the playbook is still being written.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own a revenue target end to end, from prospecting and outbounding through closing Tier 1 accounts in your verticals
- Act as a strategic advisor on AI adoption: identify use cases, shape architecture decisions, and lead with clear, opinionated recommendations
- Multithread across large organizations, from the engineers running evals to the executives funding the program to security, legal, and procurement
- Win lighthouse customers that become references for their entire industry
- Partner with forward-deployed engineering on technical evaluations, POCs, and architecture reviews
- Feed signal back to product and engineering. What enterprises need next is a roadmap input we don't get anywhere else
REQUIREMENTS
- 8+ years of enterprise B2B sales experience in technology, ideally infrastructure, API/platform, or developer tooling
- A track record of closing seven- and eight-figure deals by navigating multi-stakeholder buying committees and long, complex cycles
- Demonstrated ability to run a consultative sale. You've helped customers define a strategy, not just evaluate a product
- Strong technical acumen: you can hold your own on model serving, GPU infrastructure, latency, and API architecture
- Experience selling into large digital natives or regulated industries (financial services, healthcare/life sciences, insurance, government)
- Excellent communication and comfort with high autonomy in a fast-moving environment
NICE TO HAVE
- Direct experience selling AI/ML infrastructure, cloud compute, or model deployment platforms
We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable law (by example, the requirements of the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, where applicable).
