ABOUT CLIPBOARD
Our mission is to uplift as many communities as possible. We do this through our app-based marketplace that connects healthcare professionals with the workplaces that need amazing workers. This enables hundreds of thousands of people to achieve financial stability for themselves and their families while providing essential care to millions of people across the U.S.
Founded in 2016, we are a remote-first team of over 1,000 people building a top Y-Combinator company https://www.ycombinator.com/topcompanies/ and have been profitable since 2022. We’re the leader in Long-Term Care staffing and are rapidly expanding into Home Health, Hospitals, and more, meaning we have more work to do than people to do it, and are growing our team to support millions more people and their communities.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
This isn’t the type of in-house counsel position where you will be siloed into a few narrow workstreams or deal with the same issue day after day. At Clipboard, you’ll be tasked with tackling novel legal challenges, flexing different muscles across various areas of law, and making high-impact decisions in a fast-moving environment. You’ll be tasked with building internal processes and systems, not simply managing a docket of individual cases.
You have both the sharp instincts of a high-stakes litigator and an entrepreneurial spirit. You crave a creative and collaborative—rather than purely adversarial—experience in the law. You are a skilled and concise writer and communicator, and excel at and enjoy detail-oriented tasks, fact-finding, and investigative work. You have a strong degree of curiosity and are particularly adept at identifying subtle clues which may be indicative of a much wider and important universe of issues you need to dive into. You can navigate fairly esoteric internal databases to collect and digest complex sets of data. You are eager to bring your experience with litigation and investigations to an in-house role on a small and supportive team that affords opportunity for professional growth. You look forward to channeling your skills as a litigator into supporting and advocating for a mission-driven and groundbreaking business. You embrace and are not daunted by ambiguity or a challenge, have a perennially positive attitude, and are eager to help build a legal department and support the business in a fast-paced environment. You enjoy taking the lead on projects, and naturally take the initiative to solve problems and improve and streamline systems and processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage various litigation workstreams relating to independent contractor classification, including but not limited to matters relating to unemployment insurance claims and disputes with users of the Clipboard marketplace.
- Manage other litigation workstreams, including but not limited to professional negligence and data privacy matters.
- Partner with both internal and outside counsel on managing high-stakes litigation matters, including by drafting responsive pleadings, briefs, and other important documents.
- Work closely with outside counsel on developing and participating in the company’s eDiscovery strategy, including custodial document collection, review, and production.
- Manage the company’s third-party subpoena response strategy.
- Provide legal guidance to a wide range of cross function teams, including the Company’s product and operations teams.
- Support other legal workstreams depending on the needs of the team and company.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE 90 DAYS IN:
- You are deeply familiar with all pending litigation and investigation matters and have taken over leadership of at least one high-stakes matter, including communicating and coordinating with outside counsel and internal stakeholders.
- You have a deep understanding of the company’s internal databases and can quickly collect and analyze complex sets of data, both for the purposes of developing proactive risk mitigation strategies and responding to high-stakes litigation document requests.
- You fully own the unemployment response workstream, third-party subpoena response process, and a docket of other litigation matters, including a subset of the company’s medical malpractice matters, and can operate completely independently on these fronts with minimal supervision.
- In at least one litigation matter, you worked with outside counsel to develop an eDiscovery plan that minimizes the costs related to custodial document collection and review while still meeting our discovery obligations.
- You proactively and quickly jump in to respond to requests for legal guidance from other business functions, and provide high quality legal advice that incorporates the risk tolerance of the business.
- You are contributing to legal strategy decisions made by the Head of Legal.
NEED TO HAVE:
- JD with at least 5 years of experience
- Bias toward action and solving (not just spotting) problems
- Ability to take ownership of your work and manage projects independently
- Excellent communication and writing abilities
- Comfort and skill in navigating complexity and ambiguity, and working on a leanly staffed team
- Willingness to quickly dive into new and “unfamiliar” legal issues
- Ability to work under pressure and autonomously, and meet tight deadlines
- Agility and flexibility to take on new tasks and responsibilities when necessary to support the business and legal team’s needs in a fast-moving, rapidly scaling, and dynamic tech company
- Willingness and ability to engage with and interpret data, especially from unfamiliar sources
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience handling arbitrations and class actions
- Experience with eDiscovery issues, including large-scale custodial data collection, review, and production
- Clerkship experience
- Government experience
- Experience working cross-culturally and with diverse, global teams
INTERVIEW PROCESS:
- Application Review
- Case Study
- Case Interview with a member of our Legal team
- Hiring Manager interview with our Head of Legal
- Executive Interview with our Co-CEO
SALARY:
The base salary range for this position is $190,000 - $220,000. This role will also be eligible for discretionary annual bonus (paid on a quarterly basis) and/or equity compensation.

HEALTH CAN’T WAIT.
Not for symptoms to get worse. Not for a six‑month appointment. Not for a system to catch up. But that’s exactly how healthcare works today. You wait, until you can’t.
Alan exists to end the wait.
Health is a universal right, and we believe this right can only become real when it’s coupled with prevention. We need to stop treating health as something we repair and start treating it as something we build, every day. It’s not solely a question of willpower. It’s the healthcare system itself that needs to work for everyone, in a sustainable way.
So we are building the new standard in prevention insurance. Alan is the first company that integrates insurance, prevention, and care into a single, acclaimed user experience.
We are on an incredible journey to build a global leading company, with a unique culture https://alan.com/en/careers. We already partner with 40K+ companies of all sizes, serving more than 1M+ members, and have reached €800M+ in ARR.
Prevention as the new norm. That's what we're building with our team of 1000+ people. If it speaks to you: we're hiring across France, Spain, Belgium, and Canada. And beyond.
⭐️ THE RISK & INTERNAL CONTROL ROLE ⭐️
Alan's Corporate team brings together Risk, Internal Control, Legal, Compliance, Corporate Governance and Security around a shared mission: building the infrastructure that lets Alan operate at scale, safely and responsibly. Internal Control helps design, implement and monitor controls within the business so operations run in line with members' interests, the strategy, our objectives and the law.
We are looking for a high-potential risk and internal control professional who can identify and manage risks, define and own control activities end-to-end, and grow into ownership of more complex control scopes over time.
This is not a traditional, box-checking control role. We build solutions and act as genuine business partners on risks. This is an opportunity to be part of the next generation of risk professionals: developing automated controls, documentation and using AI to detect emerging risks early.
⭐️ YOUR MISSIONS ⭐️
- Risk Management
- You will help strengthening our system for identifying and monitoring risks on an international scope
- You will co-build the next generation of risk tooling
- Internal Control
- You will define and implement control frameworks on processes, leveraging Alan’s culture of transparency and distributed ownership, and pushing for reliability and scalability: AI and automation, smart processes
- You will perform second-level reviews on high-risk areas
- You will drive efforts to ensure proper controls documentation and communicability to third parties partners
- You will support the management of audits from commercial partners and supervisors
- Team growth
- You will help expand risk management reflexes throughout the company, and assist teams such as Insurance, Operations, Security and Legal to design and implement action plans to mitigate our risks
- You will create resources to raise awareness and empower the team for risk management, internal control and regulatory compliance;
- You will support the identification and hiring of new talents for the team.
⭐️ IS IT WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR? ⭐️
You may be a great fit if you have:
- At least two years of experience in internal control or a risk function - in insurance, a Big Four, or a regulated / fast-growing environment
- Fluent in both French and English
- A solid understanding of Solvency II and domain expertise (e.g. insurance operations, reserving, underwriting, reporting frameworks)
- Comfort with AI and automation tools to scale controls, as well as anticipation of how AI reshapes controls
- A builder's mindset: you're excited to build something differentiated, you don't thrive solely on established processes
- A business-partner attitude: you act as a true partner to product teams, helping solve their control issues and risks rather than acting only as a controller
- A written-first and rigorous working style: you’re structured, precise and at ease with Alan's async communication culture
As a plus:
- Multi-jurisdiction exposure (France, Belgium, Spain, Canada/OSFI)
- Exposure to the DORA framework
- Exposure to HDS and ISO 27001

⭐️ THE SENIOR INTERNAL AUDITOR ROLE ⭐️
Internal audit sits with Alan's Corporate team which brings together control functions: Risk, Corporate Governance & Internal Control, Legal, Compliance and Security around a shared mission: building the infrastructure that lets Alan operate at scale, safely and responsibly.
We don't do traditional audits, we are reinventing Internal Audit https://www.linkedin.com/posts/f%C3%A9licien-guilbaud-75b161b7_healthtech-internalaudit-insurance-ugcPost-7424754447500869632-PjHy/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop&rcm=ACoAABjC7PcBghrbT-Xu1F-DUgObH07qjLWZ9BA. We build things, challenge assumptions, and act as genuine partners to the business — without ever compromising our independence. The team is small, senior, and highly autonomous. And the internal audit role sits at the heart of it.
Alan is growing fast, across France, Belgium, Spain, Canada and new countries to be opened. As a Senior Internal Auditor, you will:
- Lead end-to-end audits autonomously across Finance, Insurance Operations, Compliance, IT, and Security — from scoping through to Audit Committee reporting
- Own and drive closure of a meaningful share of our open recommendation backlog (15 to 20 open items)
- Represent the Internal Audit function at Audit Committee level when needed
- Co-build the next generation of audit tooling and automation within the function and the broader Corporate community
- Act as a genuine business partner and challenger — working closely with Finance, Risk, Actuarial, Compliance, and Operations
By the end of your first year, you will have independently led at least 3 full audits, contributed to at least 2 automation or tooling initiatives, and built the trust to represent the function at governance level without oversight.
⭐️ IS IT WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR? ⭐️
You may be a great fit if you have:
- 5+ years of hands-on internal audit experience, spanning operational, compliance, and financial audits
- Deep expertise in risk management across Actuarial, Finance, Legal, Regulatory, and Security domains
- Fluent in both French and English — you operate confidently across geographies and in front of senior governance bodies
- Strong command of the insurance and financial services industry — you understand how the business works, not just how it's regulated
- Sharp legal and regulatory instincts — you can interpret complex frameworks and translate them into actionable audit findings
- Strong quantitative and data analysis skills — comfortable analyzing policies, claims, and financial data; autonomous in SQL and actively leverages AI tools in day-to-day work
- A builder at heart — excited to shape something differentiated, not looking for a conventional audit career path
- Written-first — structured, precise, and fully at ease with Alan's async communication culture
As a plus:
- Comfort auditing automated and data-driven processes (data quality, system controls, operational workflows)
- Exposure to IT, cybersecurity, or infrastructure audits
- Experience managing recommendation tracking at scale, including with engineering or product teams
For this role, we are looking to hire within the C to E level range https://alan.com/en/careers/a/salary-equity.

From Fivetran’s founding until now, our mission has remained the same: to make access to data as simple and reliable as electricity. With Fivetran, customer data arrives in their warehouses, canonical and ready to query, with no engineering or maintenance required. We’re proud that more organizations continue to leverage our technology every day to become truly data-driven.
About Us
Fivetran and dbt Labs are coming together with a shared mission: helping organizations unlock the full value of their data. Together we're building the data infrastructure layer that moves, transforms, and adds context to data — from the moment it lands to the point where teams and AI systems depend on it.
As we bring our teams and technology together, we're building on the strengths of both companies while continuing to deliver the products our customers know and trust. It's a good time to join a company with the scale, talent, and technology to help more organizations put their data to work.
About the Role
Product Finance covers two things: how our products perform, and what they cost to build, run, and support. This role owns the cost and investment side, as the finance partner to the Product and Customer Support organizations.
You'll own the operating expense P&L for both organizations — headcount and hiring plans, vendor and program spend, annual planning, monthly close, and budget-vs-actuals — and work with those leaders on where to spend and what to trade off.
You'll also build our view of product investment at the portfolio level: what we spend behind each product line, what it returns, and what that means for how the roadmap gets funded. That includes bringing cost of revenue and unit economics into the picture, so we can talk about product margin rather than just product spend. This is how we'll decide where to invest and where to pull back.
You'll build our cost-to-serve view as well — support cost by account and segment, and the economics of deflection and AI-assisted support.
Expect close work with Product Managers, Support and Engineering leaders, Pricing, Corporate FP&A, and Accounting, and regular exposure to senior leadership as we scale toward public company readiness.
This is a full-time, hybrid position based in our Oakland, CA office. Our hybrid work model offers a blend of remote flexibility and in-person collaboration, including two days in the office each week to connect and build as a team.
What You'll Do
Serve as the finance business partner to Product and Customer Support leadership — own their budgets, partner on spend decisions, and flag risks, trade-offs, and reallocation opportunities early.
Own the annual operating plan for both organizations, including headcount and hiring plans, vendor and program spend, and quarterly reforecasts.
Own monthly close, accruals, and variance analysis — budget vs. actuals with clear driver explanations and forward-looking implications.
Build the portfolio view of product investment: what we spend behind each product line, what it returns, and what that implies for roadmap funding and resource allocation.
Bring cost of revenue and product unit economics into that view, working with the teams that own the underlying cost data.
Build cost-to-serve analytics — support cost by account and segment, and the economics of deflection and AI-assisted support.
Build business cases for new product investments and major roadmap decisions, including the economics of retiring or consolidating products, and provide Pricing with the unit economics behind packaging and monetization changes.
Co-own the Product Monthly and Quarterly Financial Reviews with the product top-line lead, so cost and performance are presented together.
Improve how this work gets done — better data models, less manual assembly, and AI applied to recurring analysis.
What We're Looking For
4+ years in FP&A, strategic finance, product finance, investment banking, or consulting, including ownership of a model or forecast that others relied on.
Experience owning an operating expense budget, or partnering with a non-finance organization on its spend.
Strong modeling skills across both driver-based revenue forecasts and operating expense and headcount models.
Working knowledge of software and subscription economics — ARR, NRR, ARPA, expansion, gross margin — ideally in a usage-based business.
Comfort working directly with large and complex datasets. SQL proficiency strongly preferred.
Ability to turn analysis into a clear recommendation and present it to Product, Support, and senior leadership.
Interest in how software gets built and what it costs to run.
Nice to Have
Product or Engineering finance partnership at a software, data infrastructure, or developer tools company.
Hands-on product margin, cost of revenue, or cost-to-serve analysis.
Experience supporting a Customer Support, Services, or other cost-to-serve organization.
Usage-based pricing, packaging, or monetization modeling.
Planning and BI tools (Pigment, Looker, Tableau, Sigma) and lightweight automation in Python or SQL.
Experience through a period of rapid scaling or IPO preparation.

The Senior Technical Accountant owns some of Coder’s most complex accounting work, with a particular focus on technical revenue accounting, equity accounting, consolidated financial reporting, and quarterly Board and investor reporting. You’ll help us reach well-supported accounting conclusions, strengthen our policies, and bring rigor to areas that carry the most judgment and complexity.
Reporting to the Controller, you’ll work closely with FP&A, Legal, Sales Operations, Product, Corporate Accounting, and our external auditors. You’ll lead key technical accounting workstreams, own Controllership’s external reporting deliverables, and help shape a broader technical accounting function as Coder grows across markets and legal entities.
What you’ll do here
- Own the technical accounting analysis for complex revenue arrangements, including contract modifications, variable consideration, new product offerings, SSP considerations, and other non-routine transactions.
- Research and document accounting positions for complex transactions, translating FASB ASC guidance into clear, well-supported conclusions.
- Draft, maintain, and evolve Coder’s ASC 606 revenue recognition policy memo and related revenue playbook as our business, products, and contract structures change.
- Partner with Corporate Accounting on complex revenue matters that affect period-end reporting, helping ensure technical conclusions are applied consistently.
- Advise Finance, Legal, Sales Operations, and Product on the accounting implications of business decisions, contract structures, and new go-to-market offerings.
- Prepare and review quarterly stock-based compensation accounting, including journal entries, disclosures, and variance analysis.
- Prepare group financial statements, including consolidation and entity-level reporting, with consideration for a multinational legal entity structure.
- Own the preparation of Controllership’s quarterly reporting for the Board and investors, including financial results, key accounting matters, and supporting analyses, subject to Controller review.
- Partner with FP&A and Finance leadership to ensure Board and investor materials are accurate, consistent, and clearly supported by the underlying financials.
- Evaluate accounting implications that arise as Coder operates across jurisdictions, partnering with internal and external experts where needed.
- Serve as the primary technical accounting partner for external auditors on revenue, equity, and other complex accounting matters.
- Translate complex technical accounting guidance into clear, practical recommendations for leadership and cross-functional partners.
- Use AI tools where appropriate to accelerate technical research, memo drafting, and improvements to accounting processes.
- Support SOX readiness by maintaining strong controls and clear documentation across your workstreams.
- Contribute to special projects, system enhancements, and ad hoc analysis as the business scales.
What we’re looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Active CPA.
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including substantial hands-on technical accounting work.
- Big Four or public accounting audit experience.
- Deep knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition, including multi-element arrangements, variable consideration, SSP analysis, and contract modifications.
- Experience with stock-based compensation accounting under ASC 718 and related equity administration workflows.
- Hands-on experience preparing or reviewing consolidated financial statements.
- Experience working with multinational companies, international subsidiaries, or multi-entity corporate structures.
- Working knowledge of the accounting considerations that come with operating across jurisdictions.
- Proven ability to research and apply FASB ASC guidance, evaluate complex accounting issues, and document well-supported conclusions in clear memos.
- Strong Excel skills, including experience managing and reconciling large data sets across multiple systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to make complex accounting concepts clear to senior leaders and cross-functional partners.
- Ability to operate independently, exercise sound judgment, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
Bonus tacos if you have
- Experience helping a growing company build or expand its technical accounting function.
- Experience with international accounting matters such as foreign currency, intercompany arrangements, or cross-border entity structures.
- Experience supporting SOX readiness or strengthening financial reporting controls.
- Experience improving accounting workflows through systems, automation, or AI-enabled tools.
- Experience partnering directly with Product, Sales Operations, or Legal on new offerings and contract structures.

AI USE DURING THE INTERVIEW PROCESS
As an AI company, Coder embraces the use of AI tools, and we want to be transparent about our expectations as you navigate our interview process.
Not permitted: Using AI assistance during conversational interviews.
Permitted: Using AI tooling for take-home assessments. Please flag where and to what extent it was used in your take-home. Your submission will not be penalized for using AI as long as it is done honestly.
OUR USE OF AI IN HIRING
We use AI tools to help manage our recruitment process efficiently and fairly. Specifically:
- Ashby and Brainerr help us review inbound applications by surfacing candidates who best match the role requirements we've defined. This tool does not make hiring decisions; it helps our team prioritize which applications to review first.
- Granola takes notes during our interview calls so our team can focus on the conversation with you.
All hiring decisions are made by humans. Our team reviews applications, conducts interviews, and makes final selections. AI tools assist us but never replace human judgment, and these practices are conducted in compliance with applicable data protection, AI governance, and labor laws. Your data is not used to train AI models.
In accordance with New York City Local Law 144, an independent bias audit has been conducted on "Automated Employment Decision Tools"; results are available for Ashby https://www.ashbyhq.com/downloadables/ashby-bias-audit-08-2024.pdf.
If you're applying for a role at Coder and have questions about how we use AI in our process, or if you'd like to request information about the data we collect, please contact careers@coder.com.

About Us
Fivetran and dbt Labs are bringing together two industry-leading companies with a shared mission: helping organizations unlock the full value of their data.
Together, we’re delivering the data infrastructure layer that helps organizations move, transform, and trust their data — from the moment data moves, through every transformation, to the context teams and AI systems rely on.
Fivetran helps organizations automate data movement across the systems, clouds, engines, and tools they rely on. dbt Labs pioneered analytics engineering, helping teams transform data into reliable, governed insights. Together, we support thousands of organizations as they build a trusted foundation for analytics, AI, and better business decisions.
As we bring our teams and technology together, we’re building on the strengths of both companies while continuing to deliver the products and experiences our customers know and trust. It’s an exciting time to join us: we’re creating a company with the scale, talent, and technology to help more organizations put their data to work with greater speed, confidence, and impact.
During this transition period, you may see references to both Fivetran and dbt Labs throughout our recruiting process as we integrate our teams, systems, and career sites.
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting to lead our corporate accounting function and help shape the next generation of our Finance organization. This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for the day-to-day General Ledger (GL) accounting function while also serving as a key transformation leader across Accounting and Finance.
The ideal candidate combines strong accounting expertise with a builder's mindset. You will ensure an accurate, timely, and well-controlled close while rethinking how accounting work gets done—simplifying processes, improving systems and data, expanding automation, and driving practical adoption of AI across the accounting organization.
This role requires a leader who can operate at both strategic and detailed levels, from defining the future-state accounting operating model to solving complex accounting, process, and systems challenges.
What You'll Do
Lead Corporate Accounting
Own corporate accounting operations, including the General Ledger, month-end and quarter-end close, reconciliations, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, intercompany, and related activities.
Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, ensuring financial results are accurate, well-supported, controlled, and delivered on time.
Maintain a strong internal control environment and build processes that scale with the growth and complexity of the business.
Partner closely with Technical Accounting, Revenue, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Payroll, Legal, IT, and other teams on accounting and business matters.
Support external audits and financial reporting requirements.
Drive Transformation & AI Adoption
Serve as a transformation leader for Accounting, developing and executing a roadmap for a more automated, scalable, and data-driven organization.
Identify opportunities to eliminate manual work, accelerate the close, improve data quality, strengthen controls, and standardize processes.
Lead cross-functional initiatives involving accounting systems, financial data, integrations, workflow automation, and process redesign.
Champion the responsible adoption of AI across Accounting, identifying and implementing high-value use cases that improve productivity, quality, and employee experience.
Build AI capabilities across the team through training, experimentation, and best-practice sharing while establishing appropriate governance and human oversight.
Establish metrics to measure improvements in close performance, automation, productivity, and quality.
Build and Lead a High-Performing Team
Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing accounting team capable of operating effectively in a fast-growing SaaS/Data environment.
Develop future leaders by increasing ownership and building stronger accounting, technology, and business capabilities across the team.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement where the team challenges existing processes and embraces technology, automation, and new ways of working.
Balance operational excellence with transformation, ensuring the organization executes reliably while continuously improving how work gets done.
What We're Looking For
10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership of corporate or GL accounting functions within a public company or similarly complex environment.
4+ years of people leadership experience; experience managing managers preferred.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial close processes, internal controls, and accounting operations.
Experience within a SaaS, software, technology, or data business strongly preferred.
Demonstrated success leading meaningful Accounting or Finance transformation initiatives.
Strong systems orientation with experience improving ERP, close management, reconciliation, workflow, or other Finance technology platforms.
Strong understanding of AI and automation and an ability to translate emerging capabilities into practical accounting applications.
Excellent project management, change leadership, and executive communication skills.
Ability to move seamlessly between strategy and execution and influence stakeholders across Finance and the broader organization.
What Success Looks Like
Success in this role goes beyond delivering an accurate close. You will help build an accounting organization that is increasingly automated, intelligent, scalable, and forward-looking.
You will create a more efficient and predictable close, reduce reliance on manual processes, embed AI and automation into how the team operates, and build a strong leadership bench. Ultimately, this role will help define what a modern Accounting organization should look like in an AI-enabled SaaS/Data company.

✨ ONE PLATFORM, A WHOLE WORLD OF OPPORTUNITY
The best jobs have always clustered in a handful of the world's wealthiest cities. But talent is everywhere. Oyster set out to close that gap - building a global employment platform that lets companies hire, pay, and care for brilliant people anywhere.
We're proof that a high-performing culture doesn't need an office. Distributed across 60+ countries since 2020, we've built something the industry keeps noticing:
- Ranked #10 of 250 on TIME and Statista's 2026 list of America's Top WorkTech Companies https://www.oysterhr.com/library/oyster-hr-named-10-of-americas-top-worktech-companies-of-2026-by-time
- Named one of America's Greatest Startup Workplaces 2026 https://www.oysterhr.com/library/oyster-2026-newsweek-award by Newsweek
- A G2 Spring 2026 Leader https://www.oysterhr.com/library/oyster-named-best-roi-for-any-global-employment-platform-for-g2-spring-2026 across Employer of Record, Global Employment, Multi-country Payroll, and HR Compliance
- The only B Corp-certified global employment platform ~ independently verified since 2023
Two of those rankings measured our business impact from the outside. One measured how our own people feel about working here. They landed in the same place ~ because at Oyster, culture and performance aren't separate conversations. They're the same one.
And we're just getting started. If you want to do the best work of your career alongside people who care as much as you do, we'd love for you to apply.
Location: To create the best experience for this employee and to meet the business needs, this role requires you to be based within the EMEA region.
ROLE SUMMARY
This is an exciting time to join Oyster. The Netherlands is one of our most important markets and this role will give you real ownership over how payroll runs, with the scope to help us achieve best-in-class payroll standards at scale.
You'll be our lead in-house payroll expert: the person we trust to own Dutch payroll end-to-end, build scalable workflows in AFAS, Nmbrs by Visma and / or Loket.nl http://Loket.nl, and set the standard for how payroll should run. If you've run native Dutch payroll from the ground up, know AFAS Nmbrs by Visma and/or Loket.nl http://Loket.nl inside out, have strong opinions on doing payroll right, and have helped build or transform a payroll function before, this role is built for you.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Run payroll end-to-end. Own the full Dutch payroll cycle in-house; accurate, compliant, and on time.
- Master data ownership. Oversee the validation of employee payroll master data; new hires, terminations, salary changes, variable pay, benefits, absences, and garnishments (loonbeslag), ensuring every change is processed accurately and within payroll deadlines.
- Payroll controls & quality. Run rigorous pre- and post-payroll validations each cycle, investigate discrepancies, and implement corrective actions to keep payroll accurate before issues reach team members, customers or Finance.
- Handle all statutory filings & accesses. Loonaangifte (monthly payroll tax) and Jaaropgave (annual statement) — you own the Belastingdienst submissions. You will also be responsible for setting up and managing required government accesses (Belastingdienst, UWV).
- Own the payroll system. Configure and maintain the in-house payroll system, test legislative updates before they go live, troubleshoot issues, and partner with our Product team to improve automation and scalability.
- Be the subject matter expert. Advise the business on Loonheffing (payroll tax), Sociale verzekeringen (social insurance), Dutch arbeidsrecht (labour law), 30% ruling applications and CAO (collective labour agreement) interpretation.
- Own the numbers. Oversee payroll journals, GL mappings, reconciliations with Finance, and full data integrity.
- Own complex escalations. Be the key point of contact for our most complex client payroll issues. Pair your deep technical expertise with a customer-first mindset to turn hard problems into a best-in-class experience.
- Reporting. Maintain and prepare statutory and ad-hoc reports to meet regulatory requirements, including EU Pay Transparency Directive obligations, AVG/GDPR compliance across payroll data, WKR and Ondernemingsraad (works council)-facing pay assessment documentation.
- Audits. Provide structured data and documentation to support internal and external audits.
- Level the team up. Improve processes, coach junior specialists through complex problems rather than solving issues for them, and back up Regional Managers when needed. Maintain a living knowledge base e.g. playbooks and SOPs. so legal updates and process knowledge stay documented and shared, never siloed.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years running the complete native (in-house) payroll process for the Netherlands, comfortable independently handling a high volume of payslips per month.
- Advanced, hands-on AFAS and / or Nmbrs by Visma and / or Loket.nl http://Loket.nl experience is non-negotiable.
- PDL (Praktijkdiploma Loonadministratie) and/or VPS (Vakopleiding Payroll Services) certification and/or NIRPA Register Salarisadministrateur (RSa) registration; HBO (Bachelor) in Business Admin or Finance highly valued.
- Deep, current working knowledge of Dutch wage tax, social insurance, and labor law, and the confidence to advise stakeholders directly, not just execute.
- Dutch at C1/C2 for interaction with local authorities and fluent English for collaborating with our async global team.
- Comfortable owning complex, sensitive client escalations; balancing technical precision with a genuine customer-first mindset.
- An analytical, productivity-obsessed mindset. You're not a corporate "just follow the process" type; you thrive working from a blank canvas to build and set up processes, with an automation mindset that keeps improving how the work gets done.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity and driving cross-functional change, even without an established playbook.
- Some experience coaching or mentoring less experienced colleagues; you like building others up, not just solving problems yourself.
- Comfortable working largely asynchronously in a fast-paced, remote-first environment.
DESIRABLE SKILLS
- A broader accounting background or qualification (e.g. RA/AA accountancy qualification); particularly useful for the GL mapping and reconciliation side of the role.
- Proven experience working on and delivering cross-functional HR/Payroll projects.
- Hands-on capability working with AI tools to optimize payroll or operations workflows.
- Strong data transformation skills and practical experience with data analytics platforms.
