An overview of the role
We are seeking a Principal Security Researcher to join our
Application Security Team to conduct cutting-edge security research on GitLab's AI-powered DevSecOps capabilities. As GitLab transforms software development through intelligent collaboration between developers and specialized AI agents, we need security researchers who can proactively identify and validate vulnerabilities before they impact our platform or customers.
In this role, you'll be at the forefront of security research, working with our GitLab DevSecOps platform, Duo Agent Platform, GitLab Duo Chat, and AI workflows that represent the future of human/AI collaborative development. You'll develop novel testing methodologies (including for AI agent security), conduct hands-on penetration testing, and translate emerging threats into actionable security improvements. Your research will directly influence how we build and secure the next generation of AI-powered DevSecOps tools, ensuring GitLab remains the most secure software factory platform on the market.
This position offers the unique opportunity to shape security and AI security practices in one of the world's largest DevSecOps platforms, working with engineering teams who are pushing the boundaries of what's possible with AI-assisted software development. You'll have access to cutting-edge AI systems and the freedom to explore creative attack scenarios while contributing to the security of millions of developers worldwide.
This role reports to the Senior Manager of Application Security.
What you'll do
Conduct and lead security research projects across multiple functional areas.
Identify novel, systemic, and chained vulnerabilities in GitLab, where individual weaknesses combine for outsized impact.
Validate security vulnerabilities through hands-on testing, developing proof-of-concept exploits that demonstrate real-world attack scenarios.
Assess emerging industry vulnerability classes against the GitLab codebase, and drive remediation of the class rather than the instance.
Lead security research into GitLab's AI and agentic surfaces, and define the security requirements that engineering teams build against.
Build and direct the tooling and automation that scales security research, including agent-assisted vulnerability discovery across our codebase.
Research the security posture of open source tools and dependencies integrated with GitLab, report findings to their maintainers, and track mitigation following our
responsible disclosure guidelines
.
Solve technical problems of the highest scope, complexity, and ambiguity.
Help shape the team and sub-department roadmap.
Lead the integration of security research results into the engineering and business functions that need to act on them.
Teach, mentor, and advise other domain experts and individual contributors across several teams.
Share knowledge and novel vulnerability types with the security community.
What you'll bring
10+ years of experience in security research, penetration testing, or offensive security roles
Strong ability in discovering and exploiting vulnerabilities in large codebase and complex systems
Proficiency in two or more of Ruby, Go, Python, TypeScript, or Rust.
Ability to read and analyze code across multiple languages and codebases
Strong knowledge of AI frameworks
Strong understanding of AI attack vectors including prompt injection, agent manipulation, and workflow exploitation
At ease in establishing and driving complex remediation initiatives involving cross-functional teams
Excellent written communication skills with an ability to articulate complex topics in a clear and concise manner.
Ability to translate complex technical findings into clear risk assessments and remediation recommendations
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with creative thinking about attack scenarios
Nice to Have:
Published security research or conference presentations; background in software engineering with distributed systems expertise; experience with GitLab or similar DevSecOps platforms

Application Security team, who address complex security challenges facing GitLab and its customers to enable GitLab to be the most secure software factory platform on the market. WHO WE ARE
Notion is the collaborative AI workspace where teams and agents think together https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkpYpWfEK5s. We're building one place where your knowledge, projects, meetings, and AI tools live side by side, so work is faster, clearer, and less fragmented. Millions of individuals, small teams, and large companies run their work on Notion.
Notinos (our employees) are customer zero in bringing this future of work to life. We care about craft, building things that last, and the belief that great work is still fundamentally human. Our goal isn’t to ship the next feature. Each and every team of Notinos is working to set the standard for how humans work together in the AI era. From building a business’s system of record to making and managing AI agents to automating away the busy work, we care deeply about giving our customers more time for their life’s work.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
Notion has a very successful "land and expand" business model; our customers start using Notion for free, upgrade over time as they expand their teams, and embrace increasingly sophisticated use cases. Often, these users and champions are different than the person who has enterprise purchasing authority.
The Demand Generation team serves as a dot-connecter across sales, marketing, and operation teams to identify, engage, and convert decision makers at our target mid market and enterprise companies.
In this role, you will partner with demand generation teammates and sales stakeholders to ideate and execute in-person events, designed to help open, accelerate, and close business.
As a Field Marketing Manager, you will own and execute field events that are Notion-hosted, third party, co-partnered, and ancillary to third party events. This strategic position focuses on driving pipeline that meaningfully contribute to Notion's bottom line.
This role can be based in either San Francisco or New York City. We work from our offices on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays (our Anchor Days) because we do our best thinking and building together in person. We’re looking for someone who’s excited to work alongside the team during those days.
WHAT YOU'LL ACHIEVE:
- Delight Notion customers and prospects, with a guest-first approach to creating field events and experiences that bring the Notion brand and product to life.
- Own end-to-end planning, execution, and measurement of field programs to support our AMER Sales team - encompassing executive experiences, large-format educational events, trade shows, and co-sponsored activations with partners.
- Manage all event logistics, production, venue sourcing, budget tracking, marketing campaigns, sales enablement, content development, and audience acquisition.
- Leverage quantitative and qualitative insights to make recommendations on how we invest in field events to drive incremental business impact.
- Partner closely with Sales and broader Marketing team to align events and audiences to objectives for top accounts and craft tailored programs that nurture those accounts
- Partner with our Operation and BizTech teams to manage and better utilize our go-to-market systems
SKILLS YOU'LL NEED TO BRING:
- 4-5+ years of related marketing experience.
- You don’t need to be an AI expert, but you’re curious and willing to adopt AI tools to work smarter and deliver better results.
- You're a creative problem-solver who doesn't wait for a perfect playbook. You've built field events from scratch, and you're energized by figuring out what works in new territory.
- You have a bias for action and experimentation. You'd rather test and learn than wait for consensus, and you know how to balance scrappiness with strategic thinking.
- You're a strong cross-functional collaborator. You know how to work with sales, ops, and creative teams — and you can align people around a shared goal without needing authority to do it.
- You're pipeline-obsessed. You understand how your programs connect to revenue and can speak credibly about pipeline contribution, not just top-of-funnel metrics.
NICE TO HAVES:
- Experience in a fast-paced, B2B tech environment
- You're a Notion user and understand our value to businesses
- Salesforce, Marketo experience
Notion is committed to providing highly competitive cash compensation, equity, and benefits. The compensation offered for this role will be based on multiple factors such as location, the role’s scope and complexity, and the candidate’s experience and expertise, and may vary from the range provided below. For roles based in San Francisco or New York City, the estimated base salary range for this role is $135,000-$160,000 per year.

A NOTE ON AI
You don’t need deep AI expertise for every role, but we do expect every Notino to be intellectually curious, drawn to tinkering and discovery, and excited to use AI as a real collaborator in their work. For some roles, AI fluency is a core requirement — when that’s the case, we'll say so explicitly in the qualifications. People who thrive here don’t treat AI as a novelty. They use it to think better, and make their work easier for others to build on.
EQUAL OPPORTUNITY & ACCOMMODATIONS
We hire talented people from a wide range of backgrounds. If you’re excited about this role but don’t meet every bullet, we still encourage you to apply. Notion is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of any legally protected characteristic. Consistent with applicable law, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records. Notion provides reasonable accommodations during the application process; if you need one, please let your recruiter know.

WHO WE ARE
Notion is the collaborative AI workspace where teams and agents think together https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkpYpWfEK5s.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is based in New York City. We work from our offices on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays (our Anchor Days) because we do our best thinking and building together in person. We’re looking for someone who’s excited to work alongside the team during those days.
This role sits on Notion’s Creative Studio, a small team of designers, illustrators, and filmmakers. Our work tells the story of our offering in a way that reflects the products themselves: smart, refined, and with a dash of wit on the side.
As a Brand Designer, you’ll work on high-impact brand initiatives and campaigns: setting direction from early strategy through final execution, partnering closely with stakeholders and executives, and raising the bar for craft and systems. You’ll be asked to define approaches, resolve ambiguity, and influence both project outcomes and how the team works.
WHAT YOU'LL ACHIEVE
- Concept, art direct and design high-visibility moments from brand campaigns, product launches, and events, developing approaches that can scale across a broad range of surfaces, moments, and channels.
- Contribute to our brand systems and develop standards and tooling that improve velocity and consistency for teammates near and far.
- Mentor and raise the bar for other designers and creative partners through feedback, critique, and patterns that make great work repeatable.
SKILLS YOU'LL NEED TO BRING
- 10+ years in an agency or in-house environment, with demonstrated leadership on ambiguous, complex, high-impact work.
- A strong portfolio of work that’s culturally resonant and visually diverse, and that showcases your ability to tell stories across many channels.
- A deep commitment to systems thinking, typographic excellence, and sensitivity to small details.
- Experience working with a broad range of makers. You’ve teamed up with illustrators, animators, copywriters, filmmakers, photographers, and beyond to bring your ideas to life.
- Excellent partnership skills. You can work hand-in-hand with cross-functional stakeholders, drive alignment, and make pragmatic tradeoffs.
- A tinkerer’s mindset. You're curious about how your tools are evolving and have a strong perspective on how AI can expand creative expression and drive production. You’ll actively experiment with new AI workflows to concept, prototype, and push our design systems further.
Notion is committed to providing highly competitive cash compensation, equity, and benefits. The compensation offered for this role will be based on multiple factors such as location, the role’s scope and complexity, and the candidate’s experience and expertise, and may vary from the range provided below. For roles based in New York City, the estimated base salary range for this role is $200,000 - $250,000 per year.

Notion is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate in hiring or any employment decision based on race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions), marital status, ancestry, physical or mental disability, genetic information, veteran status, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, or other applicable legally protected characteristic. Notion considers qualified applicants with criminal histories, consistent with applicable federal, state and local law. About the role
As an Intermediate Backend Engineer, you will take backend features and improvements from clarifying the problem through shipping them and following up in production. You will work within a product area, partnering with Product Management, Frontend, Infrastructure, and Security to deliver predictably and contribute to the quality, security, performance, and maintainability of shared backend code and services. You will be trusted to work with minimal guidance, to know when to seek help, and to communicate clearly in a remote, asynchronous environment — with other tenured engineers alongside you to review your work, think through hard problems with you, and help you grow.
Why you’ll love this role
Ownership:
You'll take features from requirements through delivery and follow-up; your code will run on a platform used by millions of users.
Learning and Growth :
You’ll work alongside your engineering team, who treat code review and design review as a learning loop rather than a gate — one of the fastest ways to grow your engineering judgment.
Innovative Culture:
You’ll use AI as a genuine part of daily engineering work, developing the judgment to know when to trust it and when not to.
Autonomy:
You’ll thrive in our remote-first, asynchronous organization, where clear written communication and self-direction are the pillars of success.
User-Centric Collaboration:
You’ll partner closely with PMs and designers to shape requirements, so you understand why you’re building something, not just what.
What you’ll do
Own and Ship Features:
Design, implement, test, and ship backend features and improvements with minimal guidance, working in Ruby/Rails, Go, or any other modern languages.
Build for Production:
Write maintainable, secure, observable, and performant code. Design and maintain APIs, background jobs, integrations, and bounded service functionality, and work with data models, migrations, indexes, and query behavior.
Test and Review:
Add and improve automated coverage — unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end where appropriate — and review others’ code for correctness, maintainability, security, performance, and operational risk.
Operate What You Build:
Investigate build, test, deployment, and runtime failures at the feature boundary, identify technical debt and propose practical improvements, and take part in on-call or operational support where your team’s ownership model requires it.
Leverage AI:
Use AI productively in daily work, validate what it produces, and understand where its limitations matter.
What you’ll bring
Backend Fundamentals:
Professional experience building and shipping production backend applications, with strong programming, API, database, testing, debugging, and performance fundamentals.
Adaptability:
Experience with Ruby/Rails, Go, or any other modern backend language. We value the ability to learn and adapt over mastery of a single language.
Feature Ownership:
The ability to take a feature from clarification through delivery and follow-up, working independently while seeking input at the right time.
Practical Judgment:
Sound instincts about security, reliability, performance, maintainability, and operational risk, plus an understanding of modular backend boundaries and the consequences of coupling.
Clear Communication:
Strong written communication and effective collaboration in a remote, asynchronous environment.
AI Fluency:
Practical experience with AI coding tools, including the ability to review and correct what they generate.
Helpful experience
Production Go services, APIs, concurrency, profiling, or gRPC.
Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, CI/CD, or cloud deployment.
Rust, particularly for systems, security, performance, or platform work.
PostgreSQL, schema evolution, caching, queues, messaging, or event-driven workflows.
Observability using metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, and alerts.
Contributing to a modular monolith, bounded context, shared component, or independently operated service.

About the role
As a Staff Backend Engineer, you will provide technical leadership across your team and adjacent teams, solving the highest-scope and most complex problems in your area. You will lead large, cross-cutting backend initiatives, drive our modular architecture strategy, and define the standards that let teams move faster without compromising quality, security, reliability, or operability.
This is a technical leadership role that combines deep backend expertise, systems judgment, product judgment, and influence across organizational boundaries. You will work with Product, Frontend, Infrastructure, Security, Data, Engineering Managers, and engineers across product groups, bringing subject matter expertise, and you will do it without relying on formal authority.
Why you’ll love this role
Leverage:
Your work multiplies across teams. The platforms, standards, and architectural decisions you lead determine how quickly everyone else can ship.
Genuinely Hard Problems:
You’ll lead the modernization of a large monolith toward modular, reusable, appropriately independent systems — at the scale of a platform used by millions of users.
Influence Without Bureaucracy:
You’ll shape technical direction across teams through clear written proposals and decision records, and partner with Product and Engineering leadership on platform roadmap and investment trade-offs.
Frontier AI Work:
You’ll lead adoption of AI-assisted and agentic engineering workflows and define the review, quality, security, and privacy guardrails that make them safe to rely on.
Autonomy:
You’ll thrive in our remote-first, asynchronous organization, where clear written communication and self-direction are the pillars of success.
What you’ll do
Lead Cross-Cutting Initiatives:
Lead the technical design and delivery of large backend initiatives that span teams, and identify and remove systemic bottlenecks across product and infrastructure groups.
Own Architecture Strategy:
Drive modular backend, service, data, and platform architecture. Lead modernization of the monolith and legacy backends toward modular, reusable, and appropriately independently operated systems — while preventing fragmentation and service sprawl.
Set the Standards:
Define and improve standards for APIs, contracts, compatibility, schema evolution, testing, security, performance, observability, operability, and maintainability — plus the build, test, deploy, release, rollback, and production-readiness practices needed to operate modular features safely.
Establish Shared Patterns:
Create the patterns for dependency management, data ownership, eventing, failure isolation, service maturity, and operational documentation. Establish Go service patterns and Kubernetes operating practices where they matter to our production estate, and guide Rust adoption where it solves a real systems, security, performance, or supply-chain problem.
Own What You Build in Production:
Take part in on-call and incident response for the systems your teams own, act as a technical escalation point during complex incidents, and turn what you learn into architectural and operational improvements that prevent recurrence.
Influence and Partner:
Shape technical direction across teams without formal authority, and partner with Product and Engineering leadership on platform-level roadmap decisions and investment trade-offs.
Grow Engineers:
Mentor Senior and Intermediate engineers, shepherd technical debt reduction and reusable patterns that improve throughput, and raise the technical capability of the wider team.
Lead AI Adoption:
Lead team-level adoption of AI-assisted and agentic workflows, including the quality, security, privacy, and operational guardrails, and help engineers direct, validate, reject, and course-correct agent output.
What you’ll bring
Cross-Team Technical Leadership:
A sustained record of technical leadership across more than one team or a broad product area.
Deep Architecture Experience:
Deep backend architecture and production experience in complex applications, services, or platforms, including scaling or governing APIs, service platforms, data systems, modular monoliths, or shared backend components.
Modularization in Production:
Experience modernizing a monolith or legacy backend architecture in production, and with modular architecture such as bounded contexts, package encapsulation, ports and adapters, service extraction, event-driven boundaries, or an equivalent approach.
Influence Without Authority:
A strong ability to create alignment through clear written proposals and decision records, so decisions are documented, understood, and adopted without constant escalation.
Product Judgment:
The ability to balance customer outcomes, delivery speed, technical health, reliability, and long-term platform investment.
Mentorship:
Experience mentoring engineers and shaping standards through code review, documentation, and example.
Agentic AI Leadership:
Production experience with AI-assisted or agentic engineering workflows, including the ability to evaluate and improve how a team adopts them.
Helpful experience

As Chief of Staff you'll be the strategic copilot to Notion's Global Head of Sales. You'll work directly with our Global Head of Sales on the complex problems and decisions that drive our sales engine.
You'll thrive in this role if you enjoy being at the center of global sales strategy. Whether that's preparing for board meetings, facilitating cross-functional alignment, or representing the sales organization with key stakeholders.
We're looking for someone who gets energized by revolutionary sales challenges like balancing self-serve and enterprise motions, transforming our business motions internally and externally with AI, and identifying new market opportunities. If you can seamlessly shift between analyzing business metrics, facilitating executive decision-making, and strong project management execution - this role is for you! We’re looking for someone who is low ego, high motor, excited to roll up their sleeves, and ready to make an impact!
This role is based in San Francisco. We work from our offices on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays (our Anchor Days) because we do our best thinking and building together in person. We’re looking for someone who’s excited to work alongside the team during those days.
WHAT YOU'LL ACHIEVE:
- Serve as the Global Head of Sales’ trusted partner. You'll help prepare for board meetings, facilitate executive decision-making, and represent the sales org with internal & external stakeholders.
- Act as a strategic connector for the Sales organization. You'll use your cross-functional knowledge to identify trends, connect dots for stakeholders, and drive increased alignment between teams. This includes working across GTM teams as well as with close partners in EPD, Finance, People, and Legal.
- Lead cross-functional projects. You'll run cross functional projects and forums to increase alignment for sales. This includes leading our sales organization planning and reporting.
- Identify and drive forward global sales strategy. You’ll run analysis on the Notion business and opportunities to deepen customer deployments. Through this work you’ll identify opportunities and provide recommendations for the sales business as it continues to grow and scale. In some cases you’ll own the execution of the strategy too.
- Drive our rhythm of business. You’ll play a key role in driving the weekly sales Leads meeting, spearheading quarterly Sales Lead offsites, and working closely with the Global Head of Sales on regular communications to the sales org.
SKILLS YOU'LL NEED TO BRING:
- 8+ years experience in senior sales or sales adjacent leadership roles
- You have previously worked with, advised, and influenced senior executives
- You seamlessly swap back and forth between strategic thinking and operational details

NICE TO HAVES:
- Background in management consulting, strategy, or operations

ABOUT THE ROLE:
As Manager, Enablement Programs, you will own the programs and operating system that help sellers ramp fast and execute with confidence — from global onboarding to role-readiness, Field OS, and AI-enabled enablement workflows. This role exists because we’re evolving our Enablement and GTM motion, and we need a leader to drive that change: set the standard for what “great” looks like in the era of AI, build an AI-native enablement model, and own the agentic workflows that help the field execute.
WHAT YOU'LL ACHIEVE:
- By day 90: Build the first version of the Field OS as a seller-ramp unlock (priority workflows, trusted resources, and AI-enabled execution moments by role).
- By day 90: Map and prototype the core custom agents that help sellers ramp faster and apply the right support at each stage of the sales process.
- By day 90: Refresh onboarding around continuous iteration (A/B testing, measurement, and role-specific alignment to the sales process) and implement onboarding engagement + impact metrics.
- By day 90: Stand up a dedicated manager onboarding track to help managers ramp faster and reinforce new-hire success consistently.
- By end of year 1: Make onboarding and role readiness a repeatable system that measurably improves ramp and raises the bar on enablement quality through tight feedback loops and durable workflows.
SKILLS YOU'LL NEED TO BRING:
- Proven ability to design and run global enablement programs end-to-end (especially onboarding), including live + async modalities across regions and time zones.
- Strong program leadership and operating cadence: clear roadmaps, decision-making, stakeholder alignment, and measurement that drives iteration (not just reporting).
- Experience building scalable enablement systems (resource governance, intake processes, comms rhythms) that sellers actually use.
- AI-fluent approach to enablement: using AI and automation to improve quality, speed, and consistency of seller execution (and instrumenting adoption/impact).
- People leadership experience managing and developing a small team; sets high standards and builds a calm, high-ownership operating rhythm.
