ABOUT THE ROLE
Our Engineering team tackles the toughest challenges, so our users never have to. Real-time infrastructure, AI-native architecture, and a frontend that feels effortless - all powered by a team that moves fast, thinks rigorously, and holds an exceptionally high bar for quality.
We’re looking for Staff Product Engineers that can solve our hardest technical problems, both individually and through technical leadership. You’ll design and build software that creates delightful, groundbreaking user experiences. You’ll play a key role in growing the talent in our engineering organization through mentoring, coaching and hiring, and you’ll resolve our most tricky product issues through an understanding of what’s important to our users and business.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Provide technical leadership for a critical part of Attio’s engineering organization. You’ll work across teams to design significant parts of our infrastructure, aligning with Attio’s overall technical strategy. You’ll hold a high bar for the output of the teams you work with, ensuring that Attio executes both quickly and with quality.
- Raise the bar on how we build and operate software. You’ll be part of a technical leadership group that sets standards for how we build and operate software at Attio, ensuring that we strive to build robust and maintainable systems that are reliable, scalable and secure.
- Grow our engineering talent. You’ll mentor and coach the engineers you work with, and help ensure we hire the best talent for Attio. You’ll share your knowledge and growth mindset with the team, and be open to new approaches and experiments as software engineering evolves in the age of AI.
- Deliver for the business. You’ll always look to optimize for Attio’s business, ensuring that we make the right trade-offs between delivery and perfection. You’ll strive to understand our customers and users so you can deliver the experiences which are uniquely valuable to them.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- First-class technical skills. First and foremost, you’ll be an excellent technical executor, with an ability to think in systems, not just crank out code. You’ll understand the world of distributed, cloud-native systems, and intuitively create the right interfaces to allow teams to innovate in parallel.
- Proven technical leadership credentials. You’ll have a track record of not just personal execution, but of delivering projects through others. You’ll be able to break down large, complex problems into smaller, independent goals that others can own. You’ll understand how technical architecture impacts ability to deliver, and to maintain systems for the long term, and be sensitive to the need to pick the right compromise.
- A growth mindset. Software engineering is changing rapidly in the age of AI, and you’ll understand the need to be open-minded and to experiment. You’ll be keen to teach, and to learn from the experience of others. You’ll relish the challenge of working in an area that’s new to you, and enjoy the discomfort that leads to personal growth.
- A passion for growing the skills of others. As you deliver projects through your technical leadership, you’ll be keen to grow the next generation of technical leaders. You’ll have demonstrated impact through mentoring and coaching, and be able to flex your style depending on the needs of your colleagues. You’ll also be passionate about hiring the right talent for Attio.
- A focus on the product and customer. You’ll have strong opinions on what makes a great product, and a keen desire to deliver the things which generate value for Attio’s customers. You’ll be curious to learn about how our product is used in the field, and have an understanding of how to use data to ensure we’re building the right thing.

GiveWell’s mission is to help people in need as much as we can by researching the most cost‑effective ways to save and improve lives, sharing our work openly, and directing donations to the programs we believe will do the most good. Our work, which focuses on global health and well-being, is funded by tens of thousands of donors who rely on our research to inform their giving. We’ve grown from directing $1.5 million in 2010 to directing more than $400 million in 2025. We anticipate our total grantmaking is likely to approach or even exceed $1 billion this year, and we are working toward a future that could be several times that scale. Through years of deliberate groundwork, we’ve been growing our research capacity and scope in order to direct substantially more funding to the most impactful opportunities we can find.
Summary
GiveWell's senior research staff are the key decision makers for hundreds of millions of dollars in grantmaking, and we think growing that team is one of the most important things we can do to increase our impact. We're seeking one or more Senior Recruiters to help us do that.
Finding senior research staff is a hard problem for a couple reasons:
The talent pool for GiveWell researchers basically doesn’t exist as a defined group. You can’t go to one type of program, industry, or a few obvious competitors to build a reliable pipeline. The people who succeed here come from a wide range of backgrounds — economics PhDs, policy analysts, management consultants, medical doctors, neuroscientists, primate biologists, etc. — and the roles don't have clean analogues elsewhere. What they share is a set of hard-to-measure cognitive skills and quantitative fluency that doesn’t show up reliably on resumes.
Our process is very competitive. The offer rate for senior research roles is less than one in a thousand.
We want you to figure out where to find strong candidates, improve our assessment process, and do the hands-on work of sourcing, screening, and closing offers. You'll work very closely with our research leadership team. We're most excited about finding someone who helps us make better decisions about finding great talent — and hire them faster.
The role
You'd work closely with our manager, research recruiting and the team to own recruiting for some of our
Researcher
, Program Officer,
Senior Researcher
, and Senior Program Officer roles. A few problems we’ll want you to think about:
After candidates apply, is our assessment process effective?
Our offer rate for senior roles is below 0.1%. That might mean we’re extremely selective. It might also mean we’re losing good candidates somewhere in the funnel. You’ll dig into our data and find answers (How well do early screening scores predict work trial performance? What are the most common rejection reasons, and are they signal or noise? How did past hires actually turn out?). You’ll help us develop good heuristics about what to do in situations when candidates’ signals are mixed.
Where do we even find good candidates?
The ideal GiveWell researcher doesn’t come from one degree program, industry, or competitor. You’ll think about where to look and go after them. And you’ll continually develop new pipelines with creative methods (running structured referral conversations with our researchers, scouring conference guest lists, using sourcing tools creatively, or maybe vibe-coding your own).
How can we use data to make better decisions?
Right now, we don’t have great visibility into which sourcing channels, process changes, or pipeline stages are driving results. You’ll track data, run analyses, and help us make evidence-based decisions about where to put effort. In some cases, you might find out that we don’t have the right data architecture to answer important questions, so you’ll build it.
What are ways our hiring process could be much better?
This is harder to describe because it covers ~every strategic and tactical question we face. We want you to be thinking about all of it. Things like: Are we overweighting particular qualities and losing promising candidates without noticing? How could we run experiments on our hiring processes (randomization, A/B testing, sourcing campaigns) that actually give us useful information?
You’ll also do a fair amount of bread-and-butter recruiting work: screening applications, writing outreach emails, and interviewing candidates. We think that sort of work will keep you close to the data and help you develop strong pattern recognition.
About you
You’re excited about GiveWell's mission and methods.
You think GiveWell is doing something special, not just generically “doing good.” You can explain what makes GiveWell different.
You’re careful and truth-seeking with your beliefs.
For example, if a hiring manager says we need to find “scrappy” people, you’re likely to ask “Why do you believe that?” or “What does scrappy mean?” instead of uncritically agreeing. You’re quick to update your beliefs by picking up new information and asking sharper questions. You can probably tell us about times when you’ve changed your mind about important things.
You're unusually curious and analytical.
When you get invested in a question, you keep trying to find the right answer after many other people would have stopped. You ground your beliefs in data when possible and hedge appropriately when you’re not confident.
You have very high standards.
We have a high competence bar for our research team, and you’ll need to uphold that and own your decisions about applications that do and don’t meet our bar.
You’re entrepreneurial and high agency.
You figure things out. You have a history of solving problems. You’re very resourceful. You’re more likely to make the mistake of moving too fast than moving too slow. You'd rather try something imperfect and learn from it than wait for a perfect plan.
You're direct.
You say what you actually think even when it's uncomfortable.
You’re good at communicating in writing.
You're concise, clear, and you don't hide behind jargon. You probably enjoy an effective memo.
If you think people who know you well would agree that many of the qualities above describe you, we’d like you to apply.
Qualifications
We care much more about the qualities described above than any specific background. That said, some things that might help:
Experience in recruiting, talent operations, research operations, or a generalist role at a mission-driven organization
Comfort with data — spreadsheets and basic quantitative analysis
Strong written communication
Experience working closely with executive-level leadership
Familiarity with global health, development economics, effective altruism, or adjacent fields is a plus but not required
Recruiting experience is welcome but not required. Some of the best people in comparable roles at peer organizations came in without it. And we’ll support you if you want to move on to other things at GiveWell after making progress on our research recruiting. There's always a place here for generalists who are good at solving hard problems, and we have a history of developing high performers into different roles across our org.
Key Questions
What are some of the reasons I might not like this role?
GiveWell has a unique approach to hiring,
and it’s possible that you’ll dislike it. For example, we tend to lean heavily into work trials and finding empirical evidence about the candidates we hire. We are rigorous in how we evaluate candidates, and hold really high standards, which can lead to longer hiring rounds with more steps than what is typical elsewhere. We’re extremely quality focused and would rather hold out for the right candidate than settle on someone who’s “mostly right.”
You’ll need to deeply understand our work and culture to succeed.
We want you to be able to speak with candidates about our work and what makes GiveWell special, and provide useful input to hiring managers when we’re developing assessments and evaluating candidates.
You will be expected to hunt, not just farm.
While we receive a high volume of inbound applicants, we are looking for recruiters who effectively source and attract candidates, not just wait for them to trickle in.
You’ll be collaborating with leaders with high expectations.
We’re a founder-led, performance-driven culture and you’ll be collaborating with our executive team regularly in this role. Strong partnerships will depend on you building trust, leading with curiosity, and reliably delivering results.
You’ll be running hiring rounds from start to finish.
We consider this a full-lifecycle role, which means you should be comfortable with things like scheduling, building out roles in Greenhouse, and day-to-day coordination with candidates. While you might have support from more junior colleagues, you’ll be expected to capably manage your own pipelines.
What does growth look like in this role?
GiveWell’s growing, and you’re going to help shape that. Your growth will be tied directly to the impact created by the people you help hire. Beyond day-to-day recruiting, you’ll have the opportunity to work on more strategic projects, including shaping our overall hiring approach and improving our employer brand. In this role you’ll also have significant exposure to executive leadership and many corners of our business. The talent acquisition team is doubling in 2026, which means there are clear opportunities for mentorship and potentially growing into a team leader.
What does this interview process entail?
We'll use a combination of interviews, written exercises, and work trials to assess the qualities described above. Past versions have looked like:
Simulating a hiring manager intake conversation
Walking through a sourcing strategy for a hard-to-fill role
Reviewing a job description or process and offering a critique
Writing a candidate outreach email or internal communication
We'll share more specific details if we invite you to move forward, but our current plan is:
Screen with a member of the Talent Acquisition team
Career history interview with the Manager, Talent Acquisition
Work trial, which will include live conversations and written work
Values interview with VP, People
Final conversation with Manager, Talent Acquisition
References
Team structure
This role sits on GiveWell's People team and reports to our Manager of Talent Acquisition. Day-to-day, you'd work in close partnership with our Research Program Director, who owns senior research hiring decisions and is part of our Research Leadership Team. You'd collaborate regularly with other members of the People and Research teams on sourcing and candidate evaluation.
We'll likely also want you to attend research team meetings, develop 1:1 relationships with research team members, and potentially join research team-building retreats. We’ll be interested in ~any kind of team embedding that helps you build useful context.

About GiveWell
GiveWell is dedicated to finding and evaluating highly cost-effective global health and development opportunities, and we publish all the work, reasoning, and uncertainties behind our funding decisions. Our
giving funds
enable donors to contribute to the most impactful and cost-effective programs our researchers identify.
GiveWell is one of the world’s largest private funders of global development efforts. Trusted annually by tens of thousands of donors, GiveWell searches for highly cost-effective programs that save or improve lives the most. Since 2007, more than 150,000 donors have given over $2.6 billion through GiveWell to the most promising programs its research has identified, which we estimate will save more than
340,000 lives
.
GiveWell is most well-known for recommending a small number of
Top Charities
, which currently support
seasonal malaria chemoprevention
,
insecticide-treated nets
,
vaccine incentivization
, and
vitamin A supplementation
. However, most of our research capacity and grantmaking is devoted to
cost-effective opportunities outside of those programs
.
GiveWell
grants
have:
Helped governments
navigate changes to the funding landscape
and implement high-impact health programs, like
HIV/syphilis screening and treatment
for pregnant people in Zambia and Cameroon.
Sought to scope and scale promising interventions that don’t have clear existing implementers. We are supporting the
Clinton Health Access Initiative’s Incubator
to identify potentially cost-effective interventions and create programs that we would be excited to support in the future. For example, we
funded a program
to prevent tuberculosis among young children in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, India, that we co-designed with CHAI through the Incubator program.
Provided funding to ensure that programs that recently faced foreign aid funding cuts could continue, like
healthcare support and malnutrition treatment
in northern Cameroon.
Funded program delivery alongside strengthened monitoring and evaluation, as in our grants to support
treatment of clubfoot
and to
evaluate the program
.
Tested our

We’re proud that more organizations continue to leverage our technology every day to become truly data-driven.
About Us
Fivetran and dbt Labs are bringing together two industry-leading companies with a shared mission: helping organizations unlock the full value of their data.
Together, we’re delivering the data infrastructure layer that helps organizations move, transform, and trust their data — from the moment data moves, through every transformation, to the context teams and AI systems rely on.
Fivetran helps organizations automate data movement across the systems, clouds, engines, and tools they rely on. dbt Labs pioneered analytics engineering, helping teams transform data into reliable, governed insights. Together, we support thousands of organizations as they build a trusted foundation for analytics, AI, and better business decisions.

It’s an exciting time to join us: we’re creating a company with the scale, talent, and technology to help more organizations put their data to work with greater speed, confidence, and impact.
During this transition period, you may see references to both Fivetran and dbt Labs throughout our recruiting process as we integrate our teams, systems, and career sites.
About the Role
Fivetran is building data pipelines to power the modern data stack for thousands of companies.
We’re looking for a Staff Program Manager for our Central Engineering Operations team to help us reach our goals and help our Engineering team be the best that it can be!
The mission for the Staff Program Manager, Central Engineering Operations, is to drive operational excellence and improve execution effectiveness across key Engineering and R&D areas. Our Engineering organization is grouped into a number of functional global groups that are utilizing various processes, systems, tools, and KPIs in order to jointly deliver best-in-class data pipelines and drive innovation.
The role focuses on increasing engineering and R&D efficiency and effectiveness in delivering our strategic objectives by leading end-to-end major process and efficiency improvement projects and programs.
As the majority of the processes belong to the software development industry, the role assumes you have broad experience in software development, leading multiple programs, and shipping software from start to finish. You have worked closely with cross-functional teams with design, research, product, and engineering. Preferably, you work at a tech company and are heavily involved in engineering operations, understanding how engineering and R&D processes work under the hood and how to take them to the next level, leveraging data-driven approaches.
We want you to bring your passion for problem-solving, experience in the tech world, and the drive to help us get to the next level, and have some fun along the way.
This is a full-time position based out of our Novi Sad office. Our hybrid work model offers a blend of remote flexibility and in-person collaboration, including two days in the office each week to connect and build as a team.
What You’ll Do
Ensure operations and strategy execution work seamlessly and effectively, and streamline engineering and R&D processes to be simple, value-oriented, and scalable.
Lead and manage engineering and R&D process enhancements to set up or improve engineering and cross-departmental processes, and be responsible for transitioning them to operational state (all in coordination with key stakeholders), resulting in documented, repeatable, and measurable processes. This includes end-to-end work from problem definition and data analysis through solution proposal, alignment with R&D leadership, and execution and adoption of the changes.
Partner with engineering group leaders to improve planning, execution, and operational health within their organizations, with a particular focus on increasing the efficiency, stability, and effectiveness in the delivery of their strategic objectives.
Support engineering leadership in quarterly planning, tracking OKRs, and driving execution against strategic priorities in consistent alignment with engineering-wide and R&D policies and practices.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to the team of operations managers to manage engineering initiatives, solve problems, and optimize and automate routine operations, increasing the team's and engineering's value-added time.
Work closely with senior engineers and leadership teams to ensure strict adherence to operational processes. Conduct audits and check-ins to identify areas for improvement and ensure continuous process refinement.
Collaborate with operations managers and cross-functional partners to improve execution, automate workflows, and increase operational efficiency, and also directly contribute to the improvement and support of our internal knowledge management process and information structure in collaboration with other Ops and PMO teams.
Manage R&D-wide initiatives. Coordinate and oversee the preparation, planning, and delivery of engineering updates, events, and R&D-wide initiatives, ensuring alignment with corporate goals.
Drive operational excellence across R&D: spearhead and champion global operational strategies, focusing on optimizing engineering processes to be more efficient, scalable, and aligned with the company’s long-term vision.
Skills We’re Looking For
6+ years of experience in technical/operations management in the technology/software development industry with technical expertise that enables you to define automation requirements, automate operational workflows, and perform data analysis using query languages and AI.
Ability to work directly with senior leadership on programs, including leading R&D-wide (engineering, product, design, security) initiatives from start to finish.
Proven experience in optimizing operations on an Engineering and R&D scale, creating actionable plans, and managing execution to enhance operational effectiveness, efficiency, and scalability across multiple engineering teams and departments, and adhering to various compliance requirements.
You can facilitate discussions with engineering subject matter experts on topics such as System Design, Data Architecture, Infrastructure Management (including cost management), Quality, etc., in the context of engineering operations.
Ability to leverage AI to increase your own productivity and leverage it in the solutions you’re building.
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact and collaborate with technical and non-technical groups at all levels.
A data-driven and action-oriented mindset with excellent planning, analytical, problem-solving, project/program management, organizational, and leadership skills.

Experience driving projects end-to-end, and shipping complex, large-scale software projects with global teams utilizing different SDLCs.
Familiarity with project management tools like Jira and analytical tools like Looker and Sigma.
Experience working at cloud platforms and SaaS companies in the past is a plus.

ABOUT BASETEN
Baseten powers mission-critical inference for the world's most dynamic AI companies, like Cursor, Notion, OpenEvidence, Abridge, Clay, Gamma, and Writer. By uniting applied AI research, flexible infrastructure, and seamless developer tooling, we enable companies operating at the frontier of AI to bring cutting-edge models into production. We're growing quickly and recently raised our $1.5B Series F https://www.baseten.co/blog/announcing-our-series-f/, led by Altimeter Capital, Conviction Partners, and Spark Capital. Join us and help build the platform engineers turn to ship AI products.
THE ROLE
This role sits at the frontier of our research agenda. You will pursue open problems at the intersection of post-training methodology and performant inference, and then collaborate with research engineering to translate findings into production systems.
A meaningful portion of your time will be dedicated to research that deepens our understanding of how models learn, alignment, and architectural efficiency — questions that may not have immediate product application. The remainder will be directed toward research that solves concrete problems for Baseten's platform and customers, who are the fastest growing AI companies in the world like Cursor, Lovable, and Notion.
We are looking for someone with sharp research taste and genuine creative instinct for problem selection. Someone who can identify questions that matter, design clean experiments to answer them, and push the state of the art. The environment here is not theoretical, but rather research that can be validated with eager customers who are serving billions of tokens a second.
The Manifesto: https://labs.baseten.co/manifesto
RECENT RESEARCH
- Towards infinite context windows: neural KV cache compaction https://www.baseten.co/research/towards-infinite-context-windows-neural-kv-cache-compaction/
- Dense, on-policy or both? https://www.baseten.co/research/dense-on-policy-or-both/
- Repeated kv cache for long-running agents https://www.baseten.co/research/repeated-kv-cache-for-long-running-agents/
- Distillation without the dark – replicating black-box on-policy distillation on Baseten https://www.baseten.co/research/distillation-without-the-dark/
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Define and pursue a research agenda spanning both foundational and applied work, with the applied component connected to Baseten's platform and customer needs.
- Design and execute rigorous experiments, frequently at meaningful scale (multi-node, trillion parameter models).
- Work with customers to translate domain-specific requirements into research problems, where relevant to your agenda.
- Publish at top venues (NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR) and establish Baseten's research presence.
- Collaborate with model performance and training infrastructure teams to bridge research findings and inference production systems.
- Mentor junior researchers and shape the technical direction of the research organization as it grows.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s or PhD research depth in machine learning, with first-author publications at top venues
- Demonstrated ability to move from theory through implementation to empirical results — not exclusively theoretical or exclusively engineering work
- Judgment about problem selection, the ability to distinguish research that advances a metric from research that changes how systems are built
- Willingness to operate in a startup environment where the majority of research informs product decisions, with timelines measured in months rather than years
- Background spanning multiple research areas (e.g., both interpretability and RL, or both systems and training methodology)
- Track record of open-source contributions or community building in ML research
OUR VIEW ON TALENT
Many of the labs that exist today run a credentialist talent model. Concentrate the most already-legible researchers, and assume the concentration compounds. The best researchers in this field are very often not yet legible. Research engineers who have spent years inside a production stack and developed insights no PhD program teaches; PhDs working on the wrong-shaped problem at the right-shaped lab; operators who have been close to real systems long enough to see things credentialed researchers have never had to see. If you don’t have the traditional qualifications and are doing exceptional work, we’d love to chat.
BENEFITS
- Competitive compensation, including meaningful equity
- (U.S. only) 100% coverage of medical, dental, and vision insurance for employee and dependents
- Flexible PTO policy including company wide Winter Break (our offices are closed from Christmas Eve to New Year's Day!)
- Paid parental leave
- Fertility and family-building stipend through Carrot
- (U.S. only) Company-facilitated 401(k)
- Exposure to a variety of ML startups, offering unparalleled learning and networking opportunities.
Apply now to embark on a rewarding journey in shaping the future of AI! If you are a motivated individual with a passion for machine learning and a desire to be part of a collaborative and forward-thinking team, we would love to hear from you.
At Baseten, we are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. We provide equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, genetic information, disability, or veteran status.
We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable law (by example, the requirements of the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, where applicable).

During this transition period, you may see references to both Fivetran and dbt Labs throughout our recruiting process as we integrate our teams, systems, and career sites.
About the Role
We’re looking for a strategic player coach – a Lead Product Designer who’s ready to tackle complex UX challenges and elevate our product to new heights. If you’re excited to dive deep into intricate design problems, raise the bar for design quality, and design and build a complex interface to data.
You’ll shape the workflows that empower technical users to seamlessly explore and understand their data. You’ll dig into user needs, collaborate closely with product and engineering on product strategy, and help foster a culture where design is seen as crucial to our success.
You will largely own both the design and much of the implementation of a cloud hosted offering. Experience in data interfaces, especially business intelligence, SQL and data exploration interfaces is a giant plus.
We value curiosity, humility, ambition, and designers who understand the technical underpinnings of data, and can even implement their own designs. If this sounds like you, send us a hello with a link to your portfolio. We’d love to see how you think, how you work, and the impact you’ve made!
This is a full-time, hybrid position based out of our Oakland, CA office. Our hybrid work model offers a blend of remote flexibility and in-person collaboration, including two days in the office each week to connect and build as a team.
What You’ll Do
Own the end-to-end design strategy and execution for key areas of our product. Deliver creative solutions while proactively identifying and proposing future improvements and features. Collaborate closely with your stakeholders to shape roadmaps and product direction, align design strategy with business goals, and champion user-centered projects from concept to release.
Act as a vocal and opinionated champion for the user experience. Advocate for user-centered design principles within the organization. Confidently challenge and influence cross-functional partners to embed user considerations in product decisions and ensure the user voice and UX vision remain at the forefront of our product strategy.
Leverage strong communication and compelling storytelling skills to inspire trust, clearly articulate design rationale in terms of business value and technical feasibility, and effectively align teams around your cohesive design strategy. Champion user-centric ideas with your stakeholders and ensure daily design work actively supports strategic business objectives.
Promote design excellence by leading, mentoring, and inspiring your team with your expert guidance, actionable feedback, and championing of best practices. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages experimentation, creativity, and continuous improvement. Actively explore new tools, methods, and approaches to elevate the design process and raise the bar for UX quality across teams.
Conduct and utilize user research to deeply understand our technical users. Proactively identifying user needs, pain points, and opportunities. Inform design decisions with insights from your research and validate your concepts through testing and feedback.
Deliver with grit and urgency and drive impactful results in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrate resilience in navigating ambiguity, proactively unblock challenges, maintain momentum, and ensure high-quality design outcomes in a dynamic environment.
Skills We’re Looking For
8+ years of experience in end-to-end Product Design with significant experience designing for data-heavy, complex, technical or developer-oriented SaaS/B2B products.
Extensive AI tool and development experience
Proven track record of leading major design initiatives.
Proven track record of leading and mentoring other designers.
Exceptional product design skills, including user research, UX/interaction design, information architecture, and high-fidelity prototyping.
Strong systems-thinking capability with the ability to navigate ambiguity and complexity and simplify highly technical workflows.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with ability to articulate design decisions clearly to diverse audiences including engineers, product managers, and executives.
Comfortable balancing strategic vision with practical, hands-on execution.

About the Job:
Software powers the world, and LaunchDarkly empowers all teams to deliver and control the best software. As an Senior Infrastructure Engineer on the IDE team, you'll help us build, automate, and improve the systems that keep LaunchDarkly running at scale.
Our platform serves over twenty trillion feature flags daily across a global AWS footprint. The IDE team owns the infrastructure layer — networking, compute, CI/CD, databases, observability — and we're looking for someone who wants to make that layer increasingly self-service and automated. You'll write software that replaces manual processes, build tools that help other engineers move faster, and contribute to a culture where operational toil is treated as a bug to be fixed, not a fact of life.
As part of our you-build-it-you-run-it culture, all engineers participate in an on-call rotation.
Responsibilities:
Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and operational workflows
Build and improve internal tools and platforms that make other engineers more productive
Manage and evolve our AWS infrastructure using Terraform
Participate in on-call rotations and turn incident patterns into permanent fixes
Collaborate with product engineering teams to understand their infrastructure needs and reduce friction
Identify repetitive operational work and replace it with software
Qualifications:
8+ years of professional software engineering experience
Familiarity with AWS (you've used it; you don't need to have memorized every service)
You write code to solve problems — not just configuration, but actual software when the situation calls for it
You're curious about how things work and willing to learn new tools quickly
A commitment to working in a communicative and collaborative environment
You hold yourself and others to a high bar when working with production systems
You value code quality, automated testing, and engineering best practices
Nice to have (but not required):
Experience with Terraform or similar Infrastructure-as-Code tools
Experience with CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.)
Familiarity with containers and Kubernetes
Experience with observability tools like Datadog

About LaunchDarkly:
Modern software delivery was supposed to be the foundation for a thriving digital business but reality has proven otherwise. Slow, inefficient development cycles, costly outages, and fragmented customer experiences are preventing developers from building their best software. The LaunchDarkly platform helps developers innovate on new features faster while protecting them with a safety valve to instantly rewind when things go wrong. Developers can target product experiences to any customer segment and maximize the business impact of every feature. And by gradually rolling out new application components, they escape nightmare "big-bang" technology migrations.
The LaunchDarkly platform was built to guide engineers to the next frontier of DevOps by:
Improving the velocity and stability of software releases, without the fear of end customer outages
Delivering targeted experiences by easily personalizing features to customer cohorts
Maximizing the business impact of every feature through the ability to experiment and optimize
Coordinating the release and optimization of software to provide consistent experiences across mobile platforms and device types
Improving the effectiveness and productivity of engineering teams, by providing insights into engineering cadence and stability

We’re training and deploying frontier models for enterprises who are building AI systems. We believe that our work is instrumental to the widespread adoption of AI and we are looking for folks that want to be part of that.
We obsess over what we build. Each one of us is responsible for contributing to increasing the capabilities of our models and the value they drive for our customers. Cohere is a team of researchers, engineers, designers, and more, who are all passionate about their craft.
We are a global technology company headquartered in Toronto with key offices in London, New York City, San Francisco, Montreal, Paris, Berlin and Seoul. Join us!
ABOUT NORTH:
North https://cohere.com/north is Cohere's cutting-edge AI workspace platform, designed to revolutionize the way enterprises utilize AI. It offers a secure and customizable environment, allowing companies to deploy AI while maintaining control over sensitive data. North integrates seamlessly with existing workflows, providing a trusted platform that connects AI agents with workplace tools and applications.
WHY THIS ROLE?
This role offers a unique opportunity to shape how enterprises harness the power of AI in real-world applications. As a bridge between our core North product and our clients’ engineering teams, you’ll be at the forefront of solving complex problems and securely integrating AI into critical sectors such as finance, healthcare, and telecommunications.
We’re looking for Software Engineers with Applied AI experience who can own the design, build, and deployment of agentic workflows powered by Large Language Models (LLMs), from early prototypes to production-grade AI agents, to deliver concrete business value in enterprise workflows. You’ll work closely with customers on real-world business problems, often building first-of-their-kind agent workflows that integrate LLMs with tools, APIs, and data sources. While our pace is startup-fast, the bar is enterprise-high: agents must be reliable, observable, safe, and auditable from day one.
Note: between 20 - 40% travel anticipated
In this role, you will:
- Work closely with our enterprise customers to translate high-value, ambiguous business problems into well-framed agentic workflows with clear success criteria and evaluation methodologies
- Lead the design, build, and delivery of LLM-powered agents that reason, plan, and act across tools, APIs, and sensitive enterprise data sources, with enterprise-grade reliability and performance
- Build and ship features for North, our AI workspace platform, working across the full product lifecycle from conceptualisation through production
- Take ownership of scoping and shaping use cases end-to-end, flexing into whatever technical area the problem demands (including frontend) to drive the most effective solution
- Contribute to shared frameworks and patterns that enable consistent, high-quality delivery across customers and teams
- Drive clarity in ambiguous situations, build alignment, and raise engineering quality across the organization
- Travel up to 20–40% to work on-site with customers and partners
You may be a good fit if:
- You have hands-on experience building and deploying production-grade software in Python; you write clean, testable, observable, scalable code
- You've built and deployed highly performant RAG and agentic applications, including agents that plan and execute multi-step tasks using patterns like ReAct or Plan-and-Execute
- You're deeply familiar with the LLM stack: frontier models, vector databases, and orchestration frameworks
- You have a proven ability to build robust evaluation frameworks, moving well beyond trial and error, to measure agent accuracy, safety, and latency
- You’re experienced working directly with customers and can lead technical discussions with enterprise stakeholders, translating ambiguous business needs into concrete technical specs
- You have experience owning the full scope of a use case end-to-end
- You thrive in fast-paced and ambiguous environments and can execute well even when priorities are shifting
It's a bonus if you have:
- Experience setting architectural standards for AI and agentic systems across distributed teams
- Experience flexing into unfamiliar technical areas, such as frontend, when the problem calls for it
- Exposure to regulated or sensitive industry environments (finance, healthcare, telecoms)
- Experience with enterprise security, compliance, or auditability requirements for AI systems
We are open to candidates currently based in the Middle East or who are open to travelling or relocating.
FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES AT COHERE ENJOY THESE PERKS:
- A weekly lunch stipend of $75/£75 or equivalent in your local currency for lunch.
- Full health and dental benefits, including a separate budget for mental health.
- RRSP matching, 401K, Pension Scheme.
- 100% Parental Leave top-up for up to 6 months, for either parent.
- Annual enrichment benefits:
Arts & culture, fitness/wellness, quality time, and a workspace improvement credit.
Education & learning stipend for conferences, courses, and coaching.
- 6 weeks of paid vacation (30 working days!)
- Budget for traveling to other offices if you are remote, plus an annual company offsite.
HOW AND WHERE WE WORK:
- Cohere is remote-friendly, but we also have offices in Toronto, London, New York City, San Francisco, Montreal, Paris, Berlin and Seoul with more opening soon.
- For those in the office: a daily lunch program, plenty of snacks, and regular community and social events.
- For those not near an office: a co-working benefit so you can work alongside others in your city.
- Everyone receives a $500 home office stipend to set up your workspace properly.
If any of the above doesn’t line up exactly with your experience, we still encourage you to apply.
We strive to create an inclusive work environment for all; we welcome applicants from all backgrounds and are committed to providing equal opportunities. Should you require any accommodations during the recruitment process, please submit an Accommodations Request Form https://docs.google.com/forms/d/12a6IrLdF3kI2nonKSr4tiFuz18rLQbaeYV-JM9L4o9Q/edit, and we will work together to meet your needs.

During this transition period, you may see references to both Fivetran and dbt Labs throughout our recruiting process as we integrate our teams, systems, and career sites.
About the Role
Fivetran needs an engineer-architect who can make the AI analyst experience real, dependable, and extensible. This role owns the architecture behind the analyst AI system, including metadata contracts, tool interfaces, context assembly, prompt and skill orchestration, evaluation loops, and the operational patterns that make agents useful in real workflows instead of isolated demos.
This is a systems role as much as an AI role. The challenge is not just getting an LLM to do something impressive once. The challenge is building a product-quality analyst system that can reason over schema and business context, use tools correctly, recover from ambiguity, and improve through disciplined evaluation and iteration.
This is a full-time, hybrid position based at our Oakland, CA office. Our hybrid work model offers a blend of remote flexibility and in-person collaboration, including two days in the office each week to connect and build as a team.
What You'll Do
Define the architecture for the analyst AI stack across prompts, tools, metadata, memory and context strategies, evaluation, and runtime safety.
Build the abstractions and interfaces that allow product teams to add new agent capabilities without creating brittle prompt sprawl.
Design retrieval and context strategies that give the model the right information at the right time with strong cost, latency, and quality tradeoffs.
Establish evaluation loops, benchmark suites, and review processes so model behavior can be measured, debugged, and improved systematically.
Partner with product, engineering, and analyst-domain experts to translate real analytical workflows into robust AI-assisted product capabilities.
Drive quality standards around correctness, trust, transparency, and failure handling in analyst-facing AI experiences.
What We're Looking For
Deep experience building AI-enabled product systems, not just running experiments.
Strong software architecture skills, especially around APIs, contracts, orchestration, and system boundaries.
Practical understanding of LLM prompting, tool use, retrieval, structured outputs, and evaluation methods.
Ability to work fluently across backend engineering, product constraints, and user workflow design.
Clear judgment about where agent systems should be flexible and where they should be constrained.
Comfort working in ambiguous environments where patterns are still being invented.
Why This Role Matters
The quality of the AI analyst experience will shape how differentiated Fivetran feels. This role determines whether the system is merely novel or actually reliable enough to become part of an analyst's day-to-day workflow. Strong architecture here reduces product risk and creates leverage for the rest of the team.

Figma is growing our team of passionate creatives and builders on a mission to make design accessible to all. Figma’s platform helps teams bring ideas to life—whether you're brainstorming, creating a prototype, translating designs into code, or iterating with AI. From idea to product, Figma empowers teams to streamline workflows, move faster, and work together in real time from anywhere in the world. If you're excited to shape the future of design and collaboration, join us!
As the Engineering Manager for Observability, you'll lead the team building the systems that show Figma how its platform and its AI products actually behave in production. That spans our core observability stack, meaning metrics, logs, and distributed tracing, as well as a fast-growing new frontier: the AI observability pipeline that turns traces, conversations, and model outputs into the classification and evals that make Figma's AI features measurably better. You'll set strategy across both, raise the bar on instrumentation and data quality, and push into AI-driven approaches to anomaly detection and operational automation. Observability was an unowned space at Figma until recently, so this is a rare chance to shape an early-stage, high-leverage platform that every engineering team here depends on.
This is a full time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States.
What you’ll do at Figma:
Lead and grow a 6 engineer team responsible for the reliability, scalability, and evolution of Figma's observability and AI observability platforms.
Own and evolve the AI observability ecosystem: a privacy-safe telemetry pipeline that aggregates trace, conversation, and model data, runs classification, and lets teams run evals to measure and improve AI feature quality.
Own Figma's core observability stack, including platforms like Datadog, ensuring high availability, strong data quality, and a healthy signal-to-noise ratio across metrics, logs, and traces.
Set the technical strategy for the instrumentation standards, libraries, agents, and operators that monitor services across the company.
Explore and ship AI-driven approaches to anomaly detection, root cause analysis, signal correlation, and operational automation.
Partner across infrastructure, product engineering, finance, and security to give teams clear visibility into system health at scale, including cost efficiency as the team's scope grows.
Coach and develop engineers through career growth, feedback, and technical leadership, building a culture of ownership and high-quality execution.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
4+ years of experience leading and growing engineering teams in infrastructure, observability, platform, or AI systems, with a track record of delivering reliable production systems at scale.
A strong foundation in distributed systems and a platform mindset: you build systems other teams adopt and rely on, not just for your own team.
Hands-on depth in observability, AI systems telemetry, or both, whether that means metrics, logs, and distributed tracing, or the traces, classification, and evals that power AI products.
Fluency with the modern tooling in your area, such as Datadog, OpenTelemetry, and Prometheus, or LLM tracing, prompt and model versioning, and eval workflows.
A high operational bar (instrumentation and data quality, SLO design, incident response) and the ability to set technical direction and drive cross-functional alignment in complex environments.
While not required, it’s an added plus if you also have:
Breadth across both classic observability and AI observability, or the curiosity to grow into whichever is newer to you.
Experience creating AI Telemetry-assisted improvement feedback loops for services, in particular for AI products and features.
Experience improving infrastructure efficiency, including cost attribution, forecasting, vendor negotiation, and usage modeling.
A track record designing company-wide observability standards, shared libraries, and agent or operator-based integrations.
Experience applying AI or machine learning to anomaly detection, root cause analysis, or operational automation.
Experience scaling and mentoring high-performing teams through platform expansion or major architectural change.
At Figma, one of our values is Grow as you go. We believe in hiring smart, curious people who are excited to learn and develop their skills. If you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with the points outlined in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyways. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
