An overview of this role
As a Senior or Staff Backend Engineer with the
Database Excellence group
, you'll build and evolve database automation and PostgreSQL as a service capabilities for GitLab. The level will be determined during the hiring process. You'll use Go to automate the full lifecycle of PostgreSQL across GitLab's infrastructure, making database operations safer, more consistent, and easier to scale for databases that sit behind high-throughput, always-on internet services. You'll work closely with partner teams to shape how GitLab provisions and manages PostgreSQL in a fully remote, highly collaborative environment.
Some examples of our projects:
SQL Traffic Replay Tooling
, which validates upgrades and changes against real production workloads.
PostgreSQL as a Service Platform
, which provides standardized, automated provisioning and lifecycle management for internal product databases.
PostgreSQL Major Version Upgrade Automation
, which supports safe, repeatable major upgrades at GitLab.com scale.
What you’ll do
Design, build, and maintain Go-based automation that manages the full PostgreSQL lifecycle, including provisioning, configuration, upgrades, failover, scaling, and decommissioning, reducing reactive operational work that currently takes more than 80% of the team's time.
Build automation that works across infrastructure-as-code tooling and cloud infrastructure, and evaluate operator-based approaches as the platform evolves.
Use AI agents as a regular part of building and operating services, including implementation, review, and reducing repetitive work, while keeping the context agents need in the repository so the whole team can build on it.
Build for internet scale by designing automation and services for high-throughput, always-on production workloads, where GitLab.com traffic sets the bar for correctness, latency, and availability.
Integrate compute, storage, networking, identity and access management, and managed data services across cloud providers into one coherent PostgreSQL platform instead of creating bespoke setups for each database.
Build GitLab's PostgreSQL as a service platform to replace bespoke database setups with standardized, automated provisioning and lifecycle management, so supporting more databases doesn't require growing the operations team at the same rate.
Collaborate closely with product management, infrastructure, software delivery, and other engineering teams to design and ship high-performing solutions.
Research, design, and implement improvements to PostgreSQL performance, scalability, and data health, helping maintain more than 8 months of operational runway for all critical database saturation points.
Review database automation and Go changes from other engineers and contributors, with attention to safety, maintainability, and performance.
Document automation practices, PostgreSQL operational patterns, and guidance that helps engineers use and contribute to the platform.
Build safe, repeatable automation for PostgreSQL major version upgrades at GitLab.com scale, validating changes against real production traffic before rollout.
Operate what you build in production from end to end, using production feedback to guide each iteration.
What you’ll bring
Professional software engineering experience working with PostgreSQL in large, complex production environments, including experience building or operating a database-as-a-service product.
Proficiency with Go, including designing, implementing, testing, and reviewing backend services.
Experience developing Kubernetes operators, controllers, or similar automation for the lifecycle of stateful services, especially databases. Kubernetes experience is one way to demonstrate this skill, but isn't required; comparable experience building database or infrastructure automation is welcome.
Comfort with infrastructure as code and core database operations concepts such as high availability, replication, backups, and system-level performance trade-offs.
Familiarity with Ruby is a plus but isn't required. Much of GitLab's application codebase uses Ruby on Rails, and being able to read it helps when designing automation that application teams depend on. We’ll expect you to become comfortable with it on the job, not on day one.
Strong written communication skills and comfort working asynchronously in an all-remote, distributed team.
Self-directed work style with effective organizational skills, the ability to manage priorities as a "manager of one," and alignment with GitLab's values of transparency, collaboration, inclusion, and open source contribution, as well as its
operating principles
.
Ownership of the technical direction for a major initiative such as the PostgreSQL as a service platform, turning an ambiguous problem into an architecture and a sequenced plan that several engineers can execute in parallel.
Influence beyond the team, setting the patterns other engineers follow, partnering with sibling database, infrastructure, and platform teams, and growing engineers through design reviews and mentorship.
About the team
The
Database Excellence group
keeps GitLab’s databases running reliably through proactive health management, operational excellence, and strategic enablement. We maintain operational runway by identifying and addressing saturation points, operate infrastructure through automated and scalable processes, and provide tools and frameworks that help teams build features sustainably. Our primary focus is GitLab.com, and we're expanding our scope to provide database health frameworks and tooling that benefit self-managed customers as well.

Why work at Higgsfield AI?
Higgsfield AI https://higgsfield.aiis the fastest-scaling generative AI company in history, hitting $500M in annual revenue run rate, 25M+ users worldwide, 6M+ generations per day, and powering 390 of Fortune 500 brands.
We’re building at the absolute frontier of AI-powered video creation and next-generation creative tools. Joining Higgsfield means becoming part of a high-impact team shaping the future of AI-native experiences, at a company that isn’t just moving fast, but rewriting what fast looks like.
WHY THIS ROLE EXISTS
Higgsfield has grown roughly 35x in the last twelve months. 390 of the Fortune 500 are already on the product, and the adoption patterns look like nothing that came before — teams find us, adopt us and expand without anyone selling to them. That’s what an AI-native product does, and it’s how the company is built: small teams, no inherited process, decisions made in hours rather than quarters.
The opportunity now is to take that industry by industry. Advertising. Entertainment. Gaming. Retail. E-commerce. Each one is a category where a single person can go in, land the anchor accounts and own the vertical outright.
We’re hiring hunters for that. Not account managers working inbound — people who pick a vertical, build the target list themselves, and take it.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Own global B2B partnerships
- Drive the full partnership lifecycle end to end — sourcing, pitching, structuring, negotiating and closing deals with international partners.
- Build and scale the partnerships pipeline across key markets. You own the target list, not just the deals handed to you.
- This role travels: partners, in their market, in person.
Lead commercial execution
- Own revenue targets and deliver against multi-million-dollar goals.
- Structure complex deals, paid pilots and multi-year strategic agreements.
- Restart stalled deals because you decided to, not because a process told you to.
Shape strategy and go-to-market
- Identify high-value use cases with partners and translate Higgsfield’s capabilities into outcomes they can defend inside their own organisation.
- Design partnership models, pricing structures and GTM approaches from scratch.
- Switch verticals fast — a media holding this month, a consumer brand the next, a platform after that.
Own accounts and grow them
- Build durable relationships at C-level with founders, operators and decision-makers.
- Drive expansion, upsell and new revenue streams inside existing accounts.
- Carry the full commercial picture: what a deal books and what it costs us to serve.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 7+ years in enterprise sales, business development or partnerships, closing complex multi-million-dollar deals you personally sourced and negotiated.
- At least 3 years working in international markets — at a global company, or in a role where you owned deals or operations across multiple countries.
- Experience at a company that scaled aggressively, where daily progress was expected and intensity was normal.
- You hold both sides of the business in your head. You can say what a partnership earns and what it costs to deliver in the same sentence.
- Comfortable with almost no structure. You’ll get context and access, not process.
- Heavy international travel.
- Fluent English and Russian.
Nice to have
- Sold into enterprise media, advertising, entertainment or consumer brands.
- Ran a P&L, a market or a vertical as a GM or country lead.
- Broke into an international agency or global commercial organisation as a non-native speaker.
WHAT WE WEIGH OVER BRAND NAMES
We optimise for intensity and ownership. Three deals you actually built beats a decorated CV of roles you inherited, and a thin LinkedIn profile is not a problem here — several of our strongest people have one. If your best work isn’t visible online, tell us about it in your application.
WHAT WE OFFER
- Competitive base salary in USD, based on your experience, skills, and the scope of the role.
- Equity participation through the company’s stock option program, giving you the opportunity to share in Higgsfield’s long-term growth.
- Relocation support for candidates moving from another city or country.
- A highly collaborative, fast-paced environment where you can work directly with experienced leaders and have a meaningful impact on the product and company.
- Opportunities for professional growth, ownership, and career development as the company scales.
- Company-provided equipment, meals, transportation, and other office benefits.
Location: Almaty or San Francisco (onsite), with heavy international travel and regular trips to the other hub. Our team works from the office six days per week. We believe in-person collaboration is an important part of how we move quickly, solve complex problems, and build strong teams.
Also hiring: GM, Strategic Partnerships — same seniority, focused on GPU and compute economics, financial planning and investor-facing strategy. If your background leans consulting or corporate finance, or you come from the cloud and compute world, apply there https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/higgsfieldai/00807c29-404b-4267-9089-40f031bfc6d1 instead.

ABOUT MORPHO
Morpho is a leading Decentralized Finance (DeFi) lending protocol backed by a16z crypto, Paradigm, Ribbit Capital, Apollo, Vaneck, Coinbase Ventures, Variant and 50 others to build an open credit network giving anyone, anywhere, access to the best possible terms. Morpho is experiencing exponential adoption, with over billion in deposits on the network and used by institutional clients including Bitwise, Galaxy, and Anchorage Digital and the largest crypto exchanges, such as Coinbase, Binance, and Kraken. Now, Morpho is scaling its team of contributors to establish itself as the open credit network, not just of DeFi, but of the world.
WHY MORPHO EXISTS
Everyone has the potential to build something great for the world. But fulfilling that ambition almost always requires more: people willing to trust you with their capital. Yet access to capital still depends on where you live, who you know, and which institutions are willing to trust you. Even when capital is available, it sits fragmented across disconnected networks and hidden behind intermediaries. The result is a system that fails most of the people it should serve. Borrowers overpay. Lenders earn less than they should. Many are shut out entirely, not because they are unworthy of credit, but because today's infrastructure was never built to connect them. Morpho exists to solve this. Full article here https://morpho.org/blog/why-morpho-exists/.
LOCATION
This role is Hybrid - New York.
ROLE
Morpho's largest enterprise partners are live integrations with significant untapped growth potential. This role embeds inside a flagship partner organization, builds relationships from PMs to executives, and inserts Morpho into the partner's product roadmap. Success is measured on revenue and active loans generated by the account.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own relationship management for a flagship enterprise partner, building relationships with PMs, executives, and teams across the organization to grow the account and protect it from churn
- Run a recurring meeting cadence with the partner's product teams, including quarterly reviews with executives, to align objectives and keep joint priorities moving
- Make the commercial and product case to PMs that integrating loans grows their revenue, improves their product, and benefits their users, so Morpho earns a place on their roadmap
- Track product data to identify growth levers, such as rolling products out to new jurisdictions or running activation campaigns, and turn them into quantified expansion plays
- Map the incentives of the different players inside the partner organization and use that understanding to unlock decisions
- Spend consistent in-person time with the partner's teams in New York so relationships run deep across the organization, not through a single contact
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
FIRST 30 DAYS
Fully onboarded on a flagship account: you understand the current integration, its performance data, and the history of the relationship, and you have mapped the organization, its decision makers, and their incentives. You have met the key PMs in person and established yourself as Morpho's primary point of contact.
FIRST 3 MONTHS
You have drafted a full account strategy with the CEO: growth thesis, expansion opportunities across existing and new products, blockers, and a 12-month roadmap. A recurring cadence is running with the partner's product teams, and you have identified 2-3 quantified expansion plays and begun pitching them to the relevant PMs.
FIRST 6 MONTHS
Morpho features on the partner's product roadmap, with at least one expansion play committed or shipped and measurable growth in revenue and active loans against your starting baseline. Executive relationships are established, quarterly reviews run as standard cadence, and you are trusted internally as the voice of the account.
MUST HAVE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Experience navigating and selling into large organizations, for example through a top-tier consulting background or an enterprise-facing operating role
- Strong relationship builder across levels, from PMs to executives
- Product-minded: able to insert yourself into a roadmap and argue the commercial and product case for integrating loans
- Data-driven: comfortable tracking product metrics and spotting expansion opportunities like new jurisdictions or activation campaigns
- Crypto native: credible in front of PMs at major crypto and fintech platforms
- Comfort operating in fast-changing, ambiguous contexts
- Strong ownership and autonomy: doesn't wait to be told
- Clear and crisp async communication
- Team-first mindset, low ego
PERKS & BENEFITS
We design benefits around deep work and growth, so you can do the best work of your career. Expect fair, top-tier compensation, real flexibility, time together in Paris, great health coverage, and support to keep learning.
EQUAL OPPORTUNITY
We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and hire based on talent, potential, and values alignment.

We are primarily an in-person company based in San Francisco, with growing offices across North America, Europe, and Asia.
We are guided by a set of values that are at the core of our actions and define our culture: Trust, Customer Obsession, Craftsmanship, Intensity, and a commitment to balancing Family along the way. These values are the foundation of our work, and we are committed to upholding them in everything we do.
Our co-founders are Bret Taylor https://www.linkedin.com/in/brettaylor/ and Clay Bavor https://www.linkedin.com/in/claybavor/. Bret currently serves as Board Chair of OpenAI. Previously, he was co-CEO of Salesforce (which had acquired the company he founded, Quip) and CTO of Facebook. Bret was also one of Google's earliest product managers and co-creator of Google Maps. Before founding Sierra, Clay spent 18 years at Google, where he most recently led Google Labs. Earlier, he started and led Google’s AR/VR effort, Project Starline, and Google Lens. Before that, Clay led the product and design teams for Google Workspace.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Drive partner activation through onboarding, enablement, certification, governance, and operational support programs that help product, strategic, and channel partners become productive quickly.
- Build and continuously improve the systems, playbooks, processes, and partner-facing resources that enable Sierra’s partnership ecosystem to scale, including onboarding guides, enablement content, FAQs, and operational documentation.

- Plan and execute ongoing partner engagement and governance, including enablement sessions, webinars, QBRs, executive business reviews, newsletters, office hours, partner events, and ongoing partnership management.
- Build reporting and use data to improve partnership health, tracking partner activation, engagement, pipeline contribution, partner-influenced revenue, and overall performance while identifying friction and continuously improving how Sierra launches, activates, and scales partnerships.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
- 6+ years of experience in partnership management, partner programs, partner success, ecosystem operations, program management, or a related function within an enterprise SaaS company.
- Experience launching, activating, and scaling strategic partnerships, including partner onboarding, enablement, certification, joint GTM execution, technology launches, and ongoing partner success.
- Strong cross-functional operator with experience influencing Product, Engineering, GTM, Customer Success, Marketing, Legal, and external partners without direct authority, and exceptional organizational, communication, analytical, and project management skills.
- Comfortable with APIs, integrations, and technical product concepts, with the ability to collaborate closely with technical teams without needing to be an engineer.
- Fluent with modern AI tools and workflows, actively using AI to improve your work and understanding how AI is changing enterprise software, customer engagement, and partnership models; thrives in ambiguity and enjoys turning strategy into repeatable execution.
EVEN BETTER...
- Experience supporting and scaling strategic partnership programs across product and technology partnerships, cloud ecosystems, systems integrators, strategic alliances, or channel networks, ideally in a high-growth global environment.
- Experience working across enterprise software ecosystems and partners such as AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Stripe, Twilio, Snowflake, Databricks, or large global systems integrators, with familiarity across PRM, CRM, partner enablement, learning management, and collaboration platforms.
- Technical and AI ecosystem experience, including AI platforms, developer tools, or enterprise software, with prior software development, solutions engineering, or technical implementation experience a plus.
OUR VALUES
- Trust: We build trust with our customers with our accountability, empathy, quality, and responsiveness. We build trust in AI by making it more accessible, safe, and useful. We build trust with each other by showing up for each other professionally and personally, creating an environment that enables all of us to do our best work.
- Customer Obsession: We deeply understand our customers’ business goals and relentlessly focus on driving outcomes, not just technical milestones. Everyone at the company knows and spends time with our customers. When our customer is having an issue, we drop everything and fix it.
- Craftsmanship: We get the details right, from the words on the page to the system architecture. We have good taste. When we notice something isn’t right, we take the time to fix it. We are proud of the products we produce. We continuously self-reflect to continuously self-improve.
- Intensity: We know we don’t have the luxury of patience. We play to win. We care about our product being the best, and when it isn’t, we fix it. When we fail, we talk about it openly and without blame so we succeed the next time.
- Family: We know that balance and intensity are compatible, and we model it in our actions and processes. We are the best technology company for parents. We support and respect each other and celebrate each other’s personal and professional achievements.

In just five years, our work has helped over 2.5 million people access higher-quality care and saved $1B in healthcare costs. We recently raised our Series E and have doubled five years running. If you've ever wanted your work to solve a problem that touches every person in this country, this is the opportunity to do exactly that. You'd be joining a team fundamentally reimagining healthcare in the U.S. — and using AI to scale that impact further and faster than anyone else can.
About the role:
We are seeking an execution-focused and visionary Data Engineering Manager to lead our Data Platform Team. Foster and drive an AI-native engineering culture within the team, integrating cutting-edge AI tools and integrations to enhance development workflows and automate data operations
Manage and grow stakeholder relationships across Engineering and Product, aligning team priorities with departmental OKRs and broader business goals
Mentor, coach, and guide your team members, conducting detailed design reviews and managing robust Root Cause Analyses (RCA) to continuously elevate technical rigor
The ideal candidate has:
5+ years of hands-on engineering experience, with a focus on Big Data and distributed system and infrastructure
2+ years of managing engineering teams, with a track record of building and mentoring high performing teams
Expertise with batch data processing frameworks such as Hadoop, Spark, EMR, etc.

Proficiency with technologies such as Temporal, Apache iceberg, AWS glue, Spark, DBT, and Soda
Exhibits strong ownership and a proactive mindset, with a proven ability to translate complex business needs into scalable, actionable technical roadmaps
Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in dynamic, fast-paced startup environments, with a hands-on approach and a strong commitment to organizational success
Preference for managing healthcare data standards (e.g. HIPAA, EDI)
A desire to be a part of our mission to improve the U.S. healthcare system
A desire to be a part of a high-performing, mission-driven team that operates with intense urgency, a strong sense of individual accountability, and a commitment to authentic feedback
Technologies we use:
Python, Spark, dbt, SnowFlake, Iceberg, Airflow, OpenMetadata, Kubernetes, NATS, AWS, Terraform, Claude Code
This is a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing company in a transformative role, helping shape the future of healthcare.
What you'll get here:
You’ll work on problems that matter, at a company working to change healthcare at scale. You’ll work at the intersection of AI and systemic healthcare reform, where the problems we solve are as interesting and compelling as the mission.
At Garner, you’ll take on real, ambitious problems with real ownership and autonomy, alongside exceptional, principles-based people who genuinely want you to win. It’s demanding by design. You’ll be challenged to stretch beyond what you thought possible and receive consistent coaching to help you grow and do the best work of your career. This isn't the right fit for everyone, and that's intentional. The people here are driven by what's at stake for real people, and that's what gives our intensity its purpose.
Compensation Transparency:

ABOUT US
Sierra is the leading platform for customer-facing AI agents, working with many of the world's biggest brands — including The GAP, Rocket Mortgage, SoFi, Sutter Health, and SoftBank — to transform how they serve customers and grow their businesses.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Own the end-to-end partnership strategy for Sierra’s US, Canada, and UK Government & SLED ecosystem, identifying, prioritizing, recruiting, and structuring the systems integrator, reseller, distributor, and strategic alliances that will most accelerate Sierra’s growth and expand our public-sector reach.
- Build and lead joint go-to-market strategies with key partners, developing compelling joint value propositions, identifying priority accounts and use cases, and aligning sales motions, pipeline goals, and shared success metrics to drive measurable commercial outcomes.
- Build a scalable partner program and enablement engine from the ground up, including training, certification paths, sales plays, field-facing materials, commercial frameworks, and onboarding programs that give partners the tools and confidence to effectively position, sell, and deliver Sierra.
- Own and grow strategic partner relationships from initial engagement through long-term success, cultivating executive-level sponsorship while establishing the operating rhythms, joint planning, business reviews, governance, and scorecards needed to keep partnerships accountable, productive, and scaling over time.
- Serve as the connective tissue between Sierra and the broader public-sector partner ecosystem, partnering closely with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Legal; bringing market intelligence and partner feedback back into Sierra; representing the company at key industry and procurement events; and using pipeline and performance data to determine where to invest, course-correct, or evolve our partnership strategy.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- 10+ years of experience in strategic partnerships, alliances, or channel strategy, with significant experience across US, Canada, and/or UK Government and SLED markets and a proven track record of building and scaling partner programs that drive engagement and pipeline.
- Strong relationships across the government technology ecosystem, including resellers, systems integrators, distributors, and strategic partners such as Carahsoft, Deloitte, Accenture Federal Services, or comparable public-sector organizations.
- Deep understanding of government procurement and public-sector requirements, including RFPs/RFIs, cooperative purchasing vehicles, GSA schedules, CCS/G-Cloud frameworks, Canadian procurement vehicles, and relevant compliance, security, and accessibility requirements.
- Strong executive presence and relationship-building skills, with a demonstrated ability to earn senior-level trust and sponsorship while developing GTM frameworks, enablement programs, and operating cadences that scale partnerships.
- AI fluency and a builder mindset, with experience leveraging AI-powered tools and insights in day-to-day work and applying that knowledge to partnerships around an AI-native product like Sierra, along with the ability to travel across the US, Canada, and UK as needed.
EVEN BETTER...
- Experience working at or partnering closely with government-focused organizations such as Carahsoft, Deloitte, or Accenture Federal, ideally within a high-growth enterprise company where you helped build and scale a public-sector partner ecosystem.
- Experience structuring and growing strategic partnerships, including negotiating commercial terms, developing co-sell and governance frameworks, and driving joint GTM initiatives, customer events, executive engagement, and partner marketing programs.
- Knowledge of the government technology landscape, ideally including CX/customer service technology, AI/ML applications and public-sector AI policy/procurement trends, with an existing security clearance or eligibility to obtain one where applicable.

What you’ll be part of
Garner is on a mission to transform the U.S. healthcare system — and we’re the only proven player doing exactly that. We partner with employers to redesign how healthcare works: applying 550+ proprietary clinical metrics across 80+ specialties to a dataset of 320M+ patients to identify the best-performing doctors, then using compelling incentives to steer members to the care that helps them get healthier, faster.
The result is a rare “win win” — better care and lower costs for both members and employers.
We are seeking an exceptional
Staff Machine Learning Operations Engineer
to join our
Platform
Engineering team
. This role will report to the
VP of Platform Engineering
. As Garner's foundational dedicated MLOps Engineer, you will assume responsibility for the reliability, performance, and cost-efficiency of our production machine learning systems. You will lead the development of a robust platform designed to facilitate the secure and consistent deployment of models by our machine learning and data science teams. Given that these models directly influence health outcomes and cost-effectiveness for millions of patients, maintaining the highest standards of production quality is imperative.
Where you will work:
This role will be based in our New York City office (in the Financial District). You must be willing to work in the office 3 days per week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
What you will do:
Own the reliability, performance, functionality, and cost-efficiency of Garner's production ML systems, including establishing SLOs, observability, and on-call responsibilities.
Architect Garner's ML platform including required data infrastructure (including feature store, model registry and CI/CD for models), and standardized service patterns.
Implement ML-specific CI/CD pipelines: Transition our deployment process from manual notebook hand-offs to automated, PR-driven CI/CD workflows that include automated data quality checks and statistical model validation prior to deployment.
Drive down cost and latency through improved architecture, hardware choices, and model optimization as appropriate.
Lay the foundation for a future Garner MLOps team, including workflows, standards, and KPIs that enables rapid teammate onboarding and helps stakeholders and teammates quickly identify the health of the team’s products, allowing engineers to focus on areas where issues reside
Establish Drift Monitoring: Design and implement automated data drift and concept drift monitoring systems that alert the team when models degrade, laying the groundwork for future Continuous Training (CT) architectures
The ideal candidate has:
7+ years of software engineering experience, with significant time spent operating ML or data-intensive systems in production at scale.
Deep experience with the modern ML production stack: model serving (e.g., Sagemaker, Triton, or equivalent), feature stores, model registries, and CI/CD for ML.
Strong infrastructure and platform engineering fundamentals: Kubernetes, containerization, cloud (AWS preferred), Terraform/IaC, observability, and incident response.
Experience designing ML platforms or significant components of one (not strictly consuming SaaS) and the judgment to know when to build vs. buy.
Strong collaboration with ML, data, platform engineers, data scientists, and product engineering teams, with the ability to set technical direction as the most senior MLOps voice in the org.
Healthcare, regulated-data, or other high-stakes production ML experience is a plus but not required.
A desire to be a part of a high-performing, mission-driven team that operates with intense urgency, a strong sense of individual accountability, and a commitment to authentic feedback
What you’ll get here:
Technologies we use:
Python, Kubernetes, AWS, Sagemaker, Terraform, S3, Snowflake, Airflow, Datadog
This is a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing company in a transformative role, helping shape the future of healthcare.
Compensation Transparency:
The target salary range for this position is $298,000 - $351,000. Individual compensation for this role will depend on various factors, including qualifications, skills, and applicable laws. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible to participate in our equity incentive and competitive benefits plans, including but not limited to: flexible PTO, Medical/Dental/Vision plan options, 401(k), Teladoc Health and more.

We're building one place where your knowledge, projects, meetings, and AI tools live side by side, so work is faster, clearer, and less fragmented. Millions of individuals, small teams, and large companies run their work on Notion.
Notinos (our employees) are customer zero in bringing this future of work to life. We care about craft, building things that last, and the belief that great work is still fundamentally human. Our goal isn’t to ship the next feature. Each and every team of Notinos is working to set the standard for how humans work together in the AI era. From building a business’s system of record to making and managing AI agents to automating away the busy work, we care deeply about giving our customers more time for their life’s work.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Manager of Forward Deployed Engineering on Notion’s Services team, you will lead a team responsible for the hands-on technical delivery of our most complex customer engagements. Your team will design, build, and deploy production-ready solutions that help enterprise customers integrate Notion as the operating layer for their business.
You will combine people leadership, technical judgment, and customer-facing delivery. You will coach Forward Deployed Engineers through discovery, architecture, implementation, and launch while remaining close enough to the work to guide difficult technical decisions, unblock delivery, and build trust with senior customer stakeholders.
The team’s work includes custom code, production-grade agents and AI workflows using MCP, Agent APIs, and Notion’s automation and execution infrastructure, as well as integrations, data pipelines, enterprise migrations, and complex challenges involving scale, permissions, and governance.
You will help establish how Services delivers complex technical implementations across EMEA. This includes building a high-performing team, improving delivery standards and reusable technical assets, partnering with Sales, Product, CX, and Engineering, and turning lessons from customer deployments into product and platform improvements.
WHAT YOU'LL ACHIEVE
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Forward Deployed Engineers delivering complex enterprise customer engagements across EMEA.
- Create a high-performance team environment with clear expectations, strong technical standards, effective feedback, and meaningful career development.
- Own the quality and outcomes of engagements from technical discovery and requirements gathering through solution design, implementation, launch, and handover.
- Act as a trusted technical and delivery advisor to customer engineering, IT, security, and business leaders, helping them make informed architectural decisions and deepen their use of Notion.
- Guide the design, build, and operation of custom agents, integrations, automations, and data pipelines that connect Notion with customers’ systems and workflows.
- Oversee large-scale content and data migrations, including discovery, scoping, data modeling, transformation logic, validation, cutover, and post-migration optimization.
- Review technical designs and implementation plans, identify delivery risks early, and step in directly when an engagement requires senior technical leadership.
- Partner with Sales and Services leaders on qualification, feasibility, scoping, effort estimation, staffing, and delivery planning for strategic opportunities.
- Balance customer priorities, team capacity, and technical complexity to make sound staffing and sequencing decisions.
- Help define and scale the operating model for Forward Deployed Engineering, including hiring, onboarding, delivery methodologies, quality reviews, documentation, and engineering best practices.
SKILLS YOU'LL NEED TO BRING
- 8+ years of experience in forward deployed engineering, solutions engineering, professional services, customer engineering, software engineering, or a similar hands-on technical role.
- 2+ years of experience managing, coaching, or leading engineers responsible for customer-facing technical delivery.
- A strong track record of hiring, developing, and retaining high-performing technical teams.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, JavaScript, Node.js, SQL, or Python, with the technical depth to review production-quality code and guide implementation decisions.
- Hands-on experience with APIs, integrations, authentication, data transformation, and production systems.
- Experience leading technical discovery, assessing feasibility, identifying risks, scoping work, estimating effort, and translating ambiguous requirements into executable plans.
- Strong architectural judgment and debugging skills, with the ability to isolate root causes across code, APIs, permissions, integrations, data quality, automation logic, system limits, and customer-specific environments.
- Demonstrated success managing multiple complex customer engagements while maintaining quality, team health, and clear stakeholder communication.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence technical and business audiences from practitioners through executive stakeholders.
- A customer- and outcomes-oriented approach, with sound judgment about when to standardize, when to customize, and how to manage tradeoffs.
NICE TO HAVES
- Experience building or scaling a Forward Deployed Engineering, professional services, or customer engineering function in a startup or high-growth environment.
- Experience deploying AI agents in complex coding or business workflows.
- Experience designing or implementing AI-powered workflows involving MCP, APIs, LLM applications, prompt engineering, retrieval or RAG systems, or workflow orchestration.
- Experience with ETL or ELT workflows, schema mapping, validation scripts, and large-scale content or data migration tooling.
- Experience partnering with product and engineering teams to influence roadmaps or architectural decisions based on customer implementation needs.
- Experience supporting pre-sales and early engagement phases, including technical discovery, migration scoping, feasibility analysis, effort estimation, prototypes, and custom scripts.

A NOTE ON AI
You don’t need deep AI expertise for every role, but we do expect every Notino to be intellectually curious, drawn to tinkering and discovery, and excited to use AI as a real collaborator in their work. For some roles, AI fluency is a core requirement — when that’s the case, we'll say so explicitly in the qualifications. People who thrive here don’t treat AI as a novelty. They use it to think better, and make their work easier for others to build on.

MEET THE TEAM 👥
Here at Cleo, we have ~70 Data Scientists (Product Analysts) working embedded into our Pillars ✨ They stay connected and share knowledge consistently through monthly meetings and slack channels to scale approaches and ensure everyone learns in the same way. They thrive through clear communication with their squad and stakeholders to influence product or company decisions, being that bridge between the non-tech and technical sides of the team. We have deeply structured data and a great experimentation culture using StatSig for all analysts to dive into!
ABOUT THE ROLE ✍️
We're hiring a senior analytics leader to own the analytics strategy and operating model across Cleo's Financial Services Product pillars. You'll lead and develop the analytics leadership layer itself - L4/L5 managers and senior ICs - setting company-level standards for metrics, experimentation, and reporting across pillars.
- Own the analytics strategy and operating model across Financial Services Product pillars - coherent measurement, experimentation, and insight cadence mapped to company priorities
- Lead and develop the analytics leadership layer (L4/L5 managers and senior ICs), building a strong bench, growth plans, and succession so the function doesn't rely on any single person
- Drive the experimentation programme as a product - fixing structural issues like single source of truth, standard bucketing, automated conflict detection, sizing and priors - and raise the bar on rigour across squads
- Improve observability of live user flows and metric movements, partnering with Engineering on the event framework and product-health reporting
- Champion responsible use of agentic AI as a force multiplier for analytics, with sensible guardrails
- Partner with Product, Credit, Engineering, Commercial, and ML leadership to shape roadmaps and trade-offs with evidence, giving senior leadership clear visibility on what's driving key metrics
- Set and enforce company-level standards for metrics, experimentation, and reporting, reducing duplicated, siloed work across pillars
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR 🕵️
- 8+ years in data analytics, data science, BI engineering, or analytics engineering, ideally in a high-growth, product-led company
- Proven management experience of at least 4+ ICs
- Deep experimentation expertise beyond stat-sig testing - fixing structural problems in a testing programme: bucketing, conflicts/collisions, sizing, priors, governance
- A builder's instinct: bias for automation, ownership, and shipping
- Ability to set standards and an operating model that teams actually adopt, measurably improving delivery beyond a single team
- Commercial sense - can translate product/user metrics into revenue, profitability, and LTV, and hold your own with Product Directors and Commercial stakeholders
- Systems thinker, comfortable in a mature, complex product environment with interacting parts (e.g. payments, credit risk, ML models feeding user experience)
- Exec-ready storytelling - can synthesise across pillars, land insight at the right moment, and set and defend targets with senior stakeholders
- Player-coach instinct - creates leverage through delegation, templates, and self-serve, but goes hands-on on the highest-leverage or most ambiguous problems when needed
- Comfortable using AI tools (Claude, Cursor) as leverage, with the judgement to know when to trust output and when to verify
- Interest in fintech and Cleo's mission to make money easier and more human
- Nice to have: causal inference depth (CUPED, Bayesian methods, PSM, uplift modelling) and the judgement to know when it's worth the effort
- Nice to have: genuine enthusiasm for agentic AI as a force multiplier in analytics workflows
- Nice to have: credit-risk analytics exposure - arrears, defaults, how ML risk models interact with product analytics and UX
- Nice to have: fintech, personal finance, lending, or high-growth consumer subscription experience
