ABOUT RAMP
Ramp is building the smart infrastructure for finance teams, embedded in the transaction flow of every dollar a business spends. We automate how over $275B in annualized spend flows in and out of 85,000+ companies: authorizing payments, flagging risk, categorizing spend, and closing books.
The problems are high-stakes, data-dense, and unforgiving.
We hire people with high agency and high urgency. We look for slope over intercept. We care less about where you trained and more about what you’ve built. At Ramp, everyone is a builder who owns problems end to end and makes consequential decisions that shape the outcome.
The median Ramp customer saves 7.5% and grows revenue 16% in their first year – far in excess of businesses operating without Ramp. We believe every ambitious company deserves the same.
If you want to build systems that directly shape how companies move and manage billions, Ramp is the place to do it.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Design Engineer at Ramp, you sit at the intersection of design and front-end engineering. You bring ambitious ideas to life in real interfaces, prototype directly in code, validate with customers, and ship production experiences with a high bar for craft, performance, and reliability.
Design at Ramp is AI first and builder led. Work starts in an LLM to clarify intent and constraints, moves into tools like Claude and Cursor to explore and build, is tested with real customers, and then comes into Figma for systems and polish. AI and self-serve research are default parts of the workflow, not side experiments.
We are looking for multiple design engineers who think like a designer, code like a front-end engineer, and treat AI as a real collaborator.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Design and build high-craft product experiences: Own key surfaces end to end, from concept through production. Use layout, interaction, and motion to make complex behavior feel simple and safe.
- Work AI first with Cursor and Claude Code: Use LLMs, Cursor, and Claude Code as your starting point. Draft intent, explore implementations, scaffold components, and refactor with AI in the loop. Apply your own judgment to refine quality.
- Prototype in code and validate with customers: Build interactive prototypes in React and TypeScript and test them with real users using self-serve research tools. Use what you learn to refine flows before full systemization.
- Bridge design systems, product, and brand: Translate Ramp’s design principles into reusable components and patterns. Extend the design system so expressive, brand-aligned moments are easy to build and scale.
- Reveal what our agents are doing without noise: Design patterns that show what AI and automation are doing on behalf of customers. Use hierarchy, copy, and motion to earn trust while keeping the default experience simple.
- Champion performance and accessibility: Ship work that is fast, accessible, and robust. Pay attention to semantics, focus states, reduced motion, and Core Web Vitals. Partner with engineers to debug and optimize over time.
- Share AI-native workflows: Document prompts, patterns, and workflows you use in Cursor and Claude Code. Share them with designers and engineers to raise the bar across the team.
WHAT YOU NEED
- Strong experience across both design and front-end engineering, with ownership from idea to shipped interface
- Fluency in React, TypeScript or JavaScript, semantic HTML, and modern CSS
- Active use of tools like Cursor and Claude Code, with clear opinions on how to get high-quality output
- A portfolio that shows high visual and interaction craft in live experiences or working prototypes
- A systems mindset and interest in building reusable components and patterns
- Care for performance, accessibility, and reliability as part of craft
- Clear written and verbal communication, and comfort pairing with designers, engineers, and marketers
- Based in or open to relocate to NYC
NICE TO HAVES
- Experience contributing to a design system or front-end component library
- Familiarity with experimentation or analytics tools
- Experience with headless CMS, design tokens, or theming systems
- Background in fintech, B2B SaaS, or other trust-heavy domains
- Interest in mentoring others on AI-native workflows
BENEFITS AVAILABLE TO ALL FULL-TIME RAMP EMPLOYEES (GLOBAL)

- Centralized home-office equipment ordering
- Health and wellness stipend

- Write sharp gameplay briefs: translate ideas into clear mechanics, flows, difficulty progressions and player journeys that developers and production partners can execute.
- Work closely with developers and creative teams: guide production from the first concept to the final playable, making sure the gameplay feels intuitive, satisfying and true to the original game.
- Iterate relentlessly: analyze performance, identify where players drop off or engage, and turn those learnings into the next, better version.
PROFILE
We’re open to different backgrounds. What matters most is your ability to understand what makes a game engaging, turn insights into strong creative concepts, and drive them through production.
- You have a strong understanding of gameplay, player behavior, creative strategy, or growth, and know how to turn insights into actionable ideas.
- You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to benchmark markets, identify trends, formulate hypotheses, and turn them into creative strategies.
- You have excellent project management skills and can turn ideas into clear briefs, align internal and external stakeholders, and drive projects from concept to execution.
- You have a sharp creative eye and can articulate why a concept, mechanic, or design choice works (or doesn’t).

- You’re entrepreneurial, autonomous, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment, with a strong bias towards testing, learning, and iterating.
- Hands-on experience with AI creative tools (Scenario, Seedance, Kling, Veo, Runway, etc.) is a plus.
- Experience with playable ads, game production, or third-party creative partners is a plus.
- You are fluent in English.

An Overview of this role
We are seeking a Staff Product Manager to serve as an internal PM embedded within this team. This is not a traditional external-facing product role—it is an internal platform product leadership position. You will own the roadmap for our enterprise systems, act as the strategic voice of the business within engineering, and bring senior product craft to a team of Analysts and engineers who build and operate GitLab's revenue infrastructure.
This role is ideal for a seasoned product leader who has deep Quote-to-Cash or Finance domain knowledge, thrives at the intersection of business strategy and technical execution, and is energized by mentoring high-performing teams through complex, multi-program environments.
What You’ll Do
Internal Product Roadmap Ownership
Define, own, and maintain the multi-quarter internal product roadmap for QTC and Finance Systems, covering Salesforce CPQ, Zuora Billing, Zuora Revenue, NetSuite, and the CDot metering platform.
Translate business strategy from Finance, Revenue Operations, Deal Desk, and Sales into sequenced, prioritized system capabilities with clear outcomes and success metrics.
Balance competing program demands—stabilization, net-new capability delivery, and technical debt reduction—with transparent trade-off frameworks.
Drive quarterly and annual planning ceremonies, partnering with Engineering Managers and Business Systems Analysts to align capacity with roadmap commitments.
Stakeholder Partnership & Requirements Translation
Serve as the primary internal product voice for all QTC and Finance Systems initiatives, partnering closely with Finance, Accounting, Revenue Operations, Deal Desk, and Legal.
Lead discovery, requirements workshops, and business process design sessions to translate complex financial and commercial requirements into actionable system specifications.
Own the decision layer between "what the business needs" and "what engineering builds," resolving ambiguity with structured frameworks and documented decisions.
Navigate cross-functional stakeholder dynamics including SOX compliance, audit controls, and revenue recognition governance (ASC 606/IFRS 15).
Team Mentorship & Capability Building
Act as a product craft mentor and senior thought partner for the BSA team, actively upskilling analysts in product thinking, requirements structuring, acceptance criteria definition, and roadmap communication.
Model and instill product management best practices—user story writing, prioritization frameworks (e.g., RICE, MoSCoW), sprint review discipline, and outcome tracking—across the team.
Partner with leadership to evolve the operating model of the team from project-execution-focused to product-thinking-led, raising the bar for how ETA delivers business value.
Provide structured feedback and growth coaching to BSAs on career development, helping analysts grow toward senior and lead levels.
Program Strategy & Delivery Oversight
Lead product strategy for major multi-quarter programs (e.g., consumption-based billing iterations, CLM/Order Forms, Zuora Product Catalog refactors, ERP optimization) from discovery through go-live.
Define and maintain program-level dependency maps across concurrent workstreams, surfacing risks early and driving cross-team resolution.
Own UAT strategy and acceptance criteria in collaboration with BSAs, ensuring system changes meet business requirements before production release.
Support post-launch stabilization and continuous improvement cycles, prioritizing defect resolution and incremental enhancements based on business impact.
Systems Architecture Collaboration
Partner with Enterprise Architects and Engineering Managers to evaluate build-vs-buy-vs-configure decisions for new capabilities.
Bring informed opinions on QTC platform architecture trade-offs (e.g., billing model design, middleware integration patterns, revenue recognition rule configuration) based on deep domain knowledge.
Stay current on platform roadmaps for Salesforce, Zuora, and NetSuite, identifying opportunities to leverage native capabilities before custom builds.
What You’ll Bring
8+ years of product management experience, with at least 3 years in an internal platform PM, enterprise applications PM, or systems product leadership role.
Deep domain expertise in Quote-to-Cash systems: Salesforce CPQ, Zuora Billing, Zuora Revenue, and NetSuite ERP are the core stack—hands-on configuration or implementation experience strongly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to own and communicate multi-quarter internal product roadmaps to senior business and technology stakeholders.
Strong command of revenue lifecycle processes: opportunity-to-quote, order management, billing and collections, revenue recognition (ASC 606), and financial close.
Experience operating in a SOX-controlled environment with an understanding of audit trails, approval workflows, and change management requirements for financial systems.
Track record of successfully running complex, multi-program delivery environments with competing priorities and shared engineering resources.
Sufficient technical fluency to engage meaningfully with engineering on API design, data model decisions, and integration trade-offs—without needing to write code.
Experience with consumption-based or usage-based billing models
About the team
You'll be joining the Revenue Lifecycle & Finance Systems team within GitLab's Enterprise Technology Architecture organization. Our team is responsible for the systems and processes that power GitLab's entire revenue lifecycle—from configure-price-quote through contract execution, billing, revenue recognition, and financial close.
We are in an exciting and demanding phase: transitioning GitLab's go-to-market from a pure subscription model toward consumption-based offerings while simultaneously modernizing our core platforms. This role will be central to shaping how that evolution happens—and how the team grows in capability and product maturity alongside it.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own the customer relationship end-to-end, from kickoff and deployment through renewal and expansion.
- Lead change management and training plans to ensure Tennr workflows are adopted, and embedded into daily operations.
- Drive the strategy behind each customer’s key objectives through rigorous data analysis, clear executive storytelling, including polished, metrics-driven decks.
- Serve as a trusted strategic partner to both executive and frontline stakeholders across complex healthcare organizations.
- Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Solutions, and Operations to deliver high impact and quality workflows.
- Champion and articulate customer insights internally to influence product roadmap priorities and enhance Tennr’s product strategy.
- Identify renewal risks and efficiency blockers early, and mobilize internal teams to resolve them proactively.
- Lead renewal and growth conversations by quantifying delivered ROI and identifying the next Tennr worker opportunities to unlock upsells.
- Travel on-site with customers as needed to drive adoption, deepen relationships, and accelerate strategic partnership goals.
