We’re scaling fast and staying true to what makes us different: an open-source legacy, a global collaborative culture, and a passion for meaningful work. Our team thrives in an innovation-driven environment where transparency, autonomy, and trust fuel everything we do.
You may not meet every requirement, and that’s okay. If this role excites you, we’d love you to raise your hand for what could be a truly career-defining opportunity.
This is a remote position. We are seeking candidates in US and Canada.
The Opportunity:
We build
Tempo
, the open-source distributed tracing backend behind Grafana Cloud Traces and Grafana Enterprise Traces (GET). Tempo makes it easy to search traces, generate metrics from spans, and connect tracing data with logs, metrics, and profiles across the Grafana stack.
2026 is an inflection point for Tempo. After a major architectural upgrade and the launch of TraceQL metrics, we are shifting from foundational work to product and operational excellence, and evolving Tempo from a SaaS database into a platform that powers Grafana’s next generation of observability products (App Observability, Asserts, Traces Drilldown, and AI-driven assistants).
Over the next year, you will help us:
Make Grafana Cloud Traces “just work” for customers by eliminating rough edges, confusing limits, and hidden failure modes.
Achieve operational excellence at scale as we grow from close to 50 cells today into triple digits this year, with autoscaling, parameterized rollouts, and aggressive toil reduction.
Evolve Tempo into a platform enabler: higher-density APIs, trace aggregation, TraceQL metrics math, and machine/LLM-friendly interfaces that downstream products and agents can build on.
Push performance further: faster query latency at hundreds of MB/s ingestion and performant 30-day query ranges to match competitors.
Prepare Tempo for an agent-driven world: larger, burstier, higher-cardinality workloads, and new categories of AI-powered workflows, such as assistant-driven triage and “why is this slow?”- style investigations.
What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Senior Engineer on Tempo, you will own technical direction on the hardest problems in our roadmap and raise the bar across the team.
Deliver significant technical projects.
Take well-scoped, multi-month initiatives from problem framing through rollout, e.g., trace aggregation APIs, Limitless Tempo, autoscaling cells and customer limits, or query engine improvements. Partner with Staff engineers and the tech lead on broader, cross-team direction.
Own major components of Tempo.
Contribute to and own parts of ingestion, storage, query, and metrics generation. Write and present design docs, participate in design reviews, make sound trade-offs on performance, cost, and complexity, and document the “why” for the team.
Build APIs for humans and agents.
Help shape the next generation of Tempo’s interfaces (structured, deterministic, discoverable) so that Act 3 products, LLM-driven assistants, and external integrators can build on Tempo reliably.
Contribute to operational excellence.
Own outcomes for the areas you build against concrete SLOs (P99 write latency, incident recurrence, TCO per ingested GB), and help move the team toward Zero Ops through automation, parameterized rollouts, and actionable alerts.
Collaborate with Product and sibling teams.
Work with PMs and with App Observability, Asserts, Drilldown, and Grafana Assistant teams to understand how Tempo gets consumed and to ship what unblocks them.
Mentor and support engineers.
Raise the bar through thorough code review, constructive design feedback, and pairing, especially with junior and mid-level engineers.
Participate in on-call
for the services you help build, and contribute to incident response and post-incident learning.
Contribute to open source.
Tempo is OSS. You will engage the community, review external contributions, and contribute to the project in the open.
We invest heavily in developer productivity. You can use modern AI coding assistants as part of your daily workflow (your choice of tools, within security guidelines), backed by a company-funded usage budget so you can iterate quickly without unnecessary friction. We encourage pragmatic AI-assisted development: faster prototyping, test generation, refactors, documentation, and incident follow-ups—always with strong code review and quality standards. You'll also have access to the latest frontier models from OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google.
Example problems you could work on
These are the kinds of projects landing in 2026:
Trace aggregation and higher-density APIs:
extend TraceQL metrics, design LLM-friendly response types, and make Tempo a first-class data source for Grafana’s AI assistant.
Autoscaling end-to-end:
customer limits and Tempo cells, with hysteresis, predictive scaling for spikes, and safe scale-down.
Agent-scale ingestion and query:
guardrails for bursty, high-cardinality, agent-generated workloads.
Query performance:
new data formats, smarter query pipelines, targeted optimizations for common Drilldown and Traces workflows, and 30-day query ranges.
Rollouts and multi-cell operations:
parameterized rollouts, push-button deploys, and the tooling to grow safely into triple-digit cell counts without a proportional increase in alert noise.
Limits and self-service:
drive customer-facing configuration and observability so escalations trend toward zero.
What Makes You a Great Fit:
Technical ownership.
A track record of delivering complex, multi-month projects that spanned design, delivery, and operations, and of helping the teammates around you grow.
Solid systems experience.
Significant hands-on experience building and operating distributed data systems in production: ingestion pipelines, storage engines, query execution, or similar.
Strong software craftsmanship.
You write clean, robust, performant software that others can maintain, and you know when to optimize vs. when to ship.
Strong Go, or a path to it.
We write Tempo in Go. Solid experience in other systems languages (Rust, C, C++) translates well.
Operational mindset.
You’ve owned production services, carried a pager, reduced toil, and treated SLOs as a product feature, not a chore.
Customer focus and pragmatism.
You break complex problems into short feedback loops: analyze, design, deliver an MVP, learn, iterate.
Collaboration and clear writing.
You contribute through design docs, reviews, and shipped code, and you communicate clearly in a fully remote, asynchronous environment.
Bonus Points For:
Experience with tracing, OpenTelemetry, or large-scale observability systems.
Experience designing query languages, SQL/TraceQL-like engines, or APIs intended to be consumed programmatically (by services or agents).
Experience with columnar storage formats (e.g., Parquet) or purpose-built on-disk formats for analytical workloads.
Experience operating multi-tenant, multi-cell SaaS infrastructure at scale on Kubernetes.
Experience building for AI/LLM consumers: structured APIs, metadata/discovery endpoints, deterministic outputs, evaluation harnesses.
Open-source contribution or maintainership, and comfort engaging a community in the open.
Experience as an on-call user of Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, or Tempo in a previous role (or on a homelab).
Experience in a fully remote, globally distributed team.
How we work
We are a remote-first team that meets regularly over video and does most of our work asynchronously, in writing. We value creativity, diverse perspectives, and clear communication. Tempo is relied upon by prominent global organizations to monitor critical applications and infrastructure, and we expect everyone on the team, including our senior engineers, to contribute ideas that make it a more reliable, more useful, and more loved product.
In Canada, the OTE (On-Target Earnings)/Base compensation range for this role is CAD $164,490 - $197,389. Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skillset as assessed throughout the interview process. All of our roles include Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), giving every team member ownership in Grafana Labs' success. We believe in shared outcomes—RSUs help us stay aligned and invested as we scale globally.
*Compensation ranges are country specific. If you are applying for this role from a different location than listed above, your recruiter will discuss your specific market’s defined pay range & benefits at the beginning of the process.

We’re in a defining moment of an incredible journey. Come and build with us.
🎯 Your main goal will be to identify and reduce security risks across n8n's product and internal systems, using threat modelling, hands-on security expertise, and cross-functional collaboration to help teams design, build, and operate more secure systems.
You'll join our growing security team at a pivotal stage, acting as a trusted security partner to teams across the business. You'll help us build a move from reactive security management to a proactive, scalable security practice.
Here's what you'll be driving:
THREAT MODELLING, RISK ASSESSMENT & SECURITY DESIGN
- Conduct threat modelling and risk assessments across product features, AI agents, cloud infrastructure, corporate IT, internal applications, and data systems, identifying vulnerabilities and recommending practical mitigations.
- Partner with Engineering, Cloud, IT, and Data teams to review security designs, define actionable security requirements, and influence the implementation of appropriate controls.
- Help teams embed security into their development processes through secure coding guidance, design reviews, documentation, and security tooling that enables them to identify and address risks independently.
VULNERABILITY MANAGEMENT & COORDINATED DISCLOSURE
- Participate in the security triage rotation, assessing incoming vulnerability reports, validating findings, and prioritising remediation based on severity and business impact.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to coordinate vulnerability remediation, verify fixes, and support secure patch and release processes.
- Help manage our vulnerability disclosure and bug bounty programmes, including engagement with security researchers, coordinated disclosures, and GitHub Security Advisories.
SECURITY OPERATIONS & INCIDENT READINESS
- Help establish and improve logging, detection, and protective monitoring capabilities across our infrastructure, corporate systems, and internal applications.
- Develop and improve incident response processes, runbooks, and exercises to strengthen our ability to detect, investigate, and respond to security incidents.
- Work closely with system owners to identify security gaps, prioritise remediation, and verify that implemented controls effectively reduce risk.
CUSTOMER TRUST & COMPLIANCE ENGINEERING
- Support SOC 2 compliance by helping establish continuous control monitoring, automated evidence collection, and processes that make security assurance part of everyday operations.
- Collaborate with Sales, Solutions Engineering, and Customer Success to respond to customer security assessments and build reusable resources that streamline future requests.
- Partner with Legal, Finance, IT, and other stakeholders to assess security risks, improve security policies and controls, and strengthen trust with enterprise customers.
We're hiring two Security Engineers with complementary strengths, so you don't need to be an expert in every security domain.
REQUIREMENTS
MUST-HAVES
- 🔍 Threat Modelling & Risk Assessment: You have hands-on experience assessing real-world systems, identifying security risks, determining defensible severity levels, and recommending practical controls that teams can implement.
- 🛠️ Technical Security Expertise: You can validate security findings, reproduce vulnerabilities, develop proof-of-concepts, and write code or automation when needed to demonstrate risks or improve security processes.
- 🔐 Security Engineering Experience: You've worked hands-on in infrastructure, product, or application security within a product-focused organisation, with a strong understanding of how modern systems are designed and secured.
- 🤝 Cross-functional Influence: You're comfortable acting as an internal security consultant, advising teams, challenging technical decisions constructively, and influencing stakeholders without direct authority.

You may not meet every requirement, and that’s okay. If this role excites you, we’d love you to raise your hand for what could be a truly career-defining opportunity.
Senior Product Designer, Knowledge Graph
This is a remote position. We are looking for candidates in the US and Canada
(East Coast US/Canada preferred, open to other time zones for exceptional candidates)
.
The Opportunity:
As a Senior Product Designer at Grafana Labs, you will join a growing Product Design organization of more than 25 designers, researchers, engineers, and design leaders distributed across six continents. You will work within a 100% remote R&D organization, so strong, proactive remote communication, collaboration, facilitation, and relationship building skills will be essential to your success.
As
Senior Product Designer for Grafana Cloud’s Knowledge Graph
, you'll design experiences for the context layer of Grafana Cloud that powers our entity graph, entity catalog and RCA workbench. Knowledge Graph automatically discovers services, infrastructure, and databases from the telemetry teams already have, maps how they depend on each other, and runs anomaly detection. This gives engineers, SREs, and their agents an up to date picture of their systems. We want anyone to be able to understand a system and resolve an incident faster, without writing queries or maintaining alert rules, not just the one person who happens to know it best.
Over time, you will develop deep expertise in your product area and associated customer and user personas, use cases, and workflows, which will enable you to design tailored, role-driven experiences.
You will also have an opportunity to contribute to the evolution of the Product Design team at Grafana by coaching and mentoring other designers, collaborating on team internal initiatives, and helping evolve new ways of working, learning, and having fun together as the team scales.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Enabling customers to easily understand and explore how their systems connect to each other. Find clear, simple ways to show complex, constantly-changing information without overwhelming the user
Translate research and data to experiences that are easy to digest and break down complexity
Tailor the experience to different target audiences, covering multiple user perspectives
Work cross-functionally with peers and leaders in engineering, product management, technical writing, and GTM functions, as well as other members of the Product Design team
Prioritise for delivering impact while balancing business priorities, customer wishes and technical considerations
Document user needs and pain points, design directions, UX trade-offs, and detailed designs for specific features and enhancements
Execute research and contribute to quantitative and qualitative research initiatives with researchers, cross-functional collaborators, customers, and members of the Grafana user community
What Makes You a Great Fit:
7+ years of relevant design experience working on B2B/enterprise software products, ideally designing tools and services for developers or other highly technical users
A portfolio of effective designs for complex products delivered in a fast-paced environment
Experience running qualitative research in complex fields, building empathy with users and humans, their needs and pain points even when you have very little in common with them
Ability to make design decisions that appropriately balance business goals, product priorities, customer feedback, research insights, and technical considerations
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple locations and time-zones to iteratively ship and evolve products while keeping the end design vision in mind
Attention to detail and willingness to learn about a complex, very technical product space
Experience working in a fully-remote, fast-paced environment where you are expected to share openly, default to transparency, and embrace your autonomy
Bonus Points For:
Experience designing complex, data-dense interfaces with a focus on clarity
Ability to rapidly gain an understanding of a technical domain and associated customer needs and user workflows in order to design effective experiences within that domain
Domain knowledge or experience related to observability, cloud infrastructure, and/or database monitoring
Experience helping design teams, especially at engineering led companies, level up their practice, collaboration with partner functions, and user and organizational impact
When you apply, please:
Provide an example of an experience where decision-making in a complex area is made easy through a well-curated UI. Add a sentence or two about what you believe makes it effective.
Compensation & Rewards:
In Canada, the Base compensation range for this role is CAD $

Reporting to our VP of Revenue Operations, you will work with a cross-functional team of stakeholders to define growth strategies, provide insights to business performance, and set the standard for data- driven decision making in GTM. Success in this role requires deep experience with consumption-based SaaS. You'll understand how customer adoption and usage translate into revenue over time, and use that understanding to guide GTM capacity, productivity, and investment decisions across Sales, SE, CX, SDR, and Partners. This is a hands-on leadership role with ownership of the planning agenda and the models behind it.
What you'll be doing:
Establish standard reports and tools to analyze business performance, help set operational targets, and drive planning processes with the Go-To-Market Operations team
Lead annual and long-range GTM planning, aligning revenue targets with hiring plans, territory coverage, and productivity assumptions
Develop revenue and capacity scenarios that account for usage variability, customer adoption, and expansion or contraction across cohorts, segments, and regions.
Work with Global and Regional Sales and Services leaders to evaluate strategic opportunities and/or transformational initiatives; New market evaluation, M&A integration, vertical planning, pricing, etc.
Become an expert in how our GTM data is captured, how it ties to underlying business processes, and how it impacts key metrics and reports.
Identify operational gaps in our reporting capabilities and/or inefficiencies in the planning process. Work with Analytics and Business Systems teams to build scalable solutions.
Help create the connective tissue across our internal stakeholders: Revenue Operations, Marketing, Finance, Data, and GTM leadership
Build scalable, self-service planning processes that improve consistency and reduce manual coordination across teams.
Advise GTM leadership on market segmentation, vertical performance, pricing scenarios, and territory strategy, presenting clear recommendations and tradeoffs.
Partner with Finance to align consumption-based revenue scenarios with workforce budgets and financial targets, reviewing performance and recommending adjustments as usage trends change.
Set priorities for the planning function and lead cross-functional initiatives with Data and Field Ops to close gaps in reporting and planning infrastructure.
Identify and implement AI-assisted approaches to consumption analysis, scenario development, and recurring reporting, partnering with data to validate results and improve planning efficiency.
What Makes You a Great Fit:
8+ years in GTM strategy and operations, sales planning, revenue operations, consulting, or a related analytical field, including experience leading a planning function or major cross-functional programs.

Strong modeling and analytical skills – comfort with complex segmentation analysis and workforce planning
Excellent communication skills with executive audiences - explain “what it is”, “why it matters” and “what should we do” in terms of your data and analysis
Experience owning GTM planning through significant ARR and headcount growth at a SaaS company of comparable scale and complexity, including evolving capacity models, coverage strategies, and planning processes as the organization expands.
Experience in a Sales or GTM organization, and familiarity with common sales methodologies (MEDDPICC or MEDDIC) and models ( rep productivity, rep capacity, campaign influence, and quota modeling)
High comfort with ambiguity. You identify the right priorities and put in the hard work without need for external motivation
You think critically and creatively, continually reorienting to obstacles to define a better way to achieve our goals.

About GiveDirectly
What if the most effective way to fight poverty was also the simplest: give people money and trust them to decide what they need?
Since 2011, GiveDirectly has proven that idea at scale. We’ve delivered more than $1B in cash directly to 2+ million people living in poverty and crisis across 15 countries, and rigorous research shows the results: healthier kids, stronger businesses, sturdier homes, and more resilient families and local economies. Cash is now widely recognized as one of the most scalable, cost-effective, and dignified forms of aid.
Our ambition goes beyond our own programs. We want cash to become the benchmark for aid, much as the index fund became the benchmark for investing, so that every aid dollar is held to one question:
is this doing more good than giving the money directly to people living in poverty?
We’re growing fast, and this is a rare and important moment to join.
We expect to hit $1B in revenue in 2026 with significant growth forecast for 2027. At the same time we are building a new technology stack and operating model designed for a roughly 10x change in scale, and we are actively pursuing partnerships with major funders to move even more money in bigger ways, to people who need it. We are known for our extensive integration of technology into field processes; our quantitative approach to performance measurement; and our commitment to rigorous, independent, experimental evaluation of our impact, with multiple Randomized Control Trials completed and others in progress.
How we work
Our team spans 20+ countries and 69 languages. Our culture is candid, analytical, and non-hierarchical. We expect high ownership and give people real responsibility early. Our values are central to how we hire, work, and grow, and they are deliberately opinionated:
Recipients first.
Recipients’ preferences come before those of donors or ourselves.
Team next.
We optimize for organizational success, not individual success.
Be proactively candid.
We say what we believe and share information openly.
Create positive energy.
We aim to be a source of energy for colleagues, not a drain.
Think rigorously; act quickly.
We reason from first principles, then act rather than debate.
Know yourself and grow.
We own our imperfections and seek feedback to grow.
Accept reality. Propose solutions.
We focus on what can change and bring solutions, not just problems.
Be productively ambitious.
We take risks for step-change impact, not incremental progress.
If they describe how you like to work and they energize you, this could be a great fit.

a. Background:
