WHO ARE WE?
Cohere is the leading security-first enterprise AI company. We build cutting-edge foundation AI models and end-to-end products that are designed to solve real-world business problems.
We’re training and deploying frontier models for enterprises who are building AI systems. We believe that our work is instrumental to the widespread adoption of AI and we are looking for folks that want to be part of that.
We obsess over what we build. Each one of us is responsible for contributing to increasing the capabilities of our models and the value they drive for our customers. Cohere is a team of researchers, engineers, designers, and more, who are all passionate about their craft.
We are a global technology company headquartered in Toronto with key offices in London, New York City, San Francisco, Montreal, Paris, Berlin and Seoul. Join us!
WHY THIS ROLE?
This role is for a highly experienced Back-End Software Engineer who wants to work on core systems that shape how the platform (Model Vault) operates. You will help define the architecture of the platform where reliability, security, performance, and simplicity all matter, and where many of the problems do not have off-the-shelf solutions.
Model Vault is Cohere’s inference platform for deploying and operating models securely at enterprise scale. The team owns the systems between a customer and the underlying AI infrastructure, including identity, deployments, metering, billing, security, privacy, and confidential computing. We are strengthening these systems as Model Vault grows, with the goal of scaling to millions of users and supporting some of the world’s most demanding enterprise workloads.
AS A SENIOR/STAFF SOFTWARE ENGINEER, YOU WILL:
- Evolve and scale the backend systems that power Model Vault, including authentication and authorization, deployment management, billing, metering, and customer lifecycle.
- Lead major architectural initiatives across identity, payments, usage systems, platform scalability, and other core product foundations.
- Build highly reliable control-plane services for provisioning, configuring, scaling, and operating model deployments across clouds and hardware platforms.
- Design APIs and distributed systems with strong guarantees around correctness, consistency, isolation, failure recovery, idempotency, and observability.
- Build security and privacy into the platform architecture, including tenant isolation, least-privilege access, auditability, secrets management, encryption, and confidential computing boundaries.
- Solve complex problems that span backend systems, cloud infrastructure, security, and AI inference, where conventional SaaS patterns are often not enough.
- Drive projects end-to-end, from architecture and threat modeling through implementation, rollout, production operations, and iteration based on real customer workloads.
YOU MAY BE A GOOD FIT IF:
- You are a strong backend engineer with excellent fundamentals in distributed systems, databases, networking, operating systems, and security.
- You have strong programming fundamentals and experience building production systems in languages such as Go, Python, Java, C++, Rust, or similar. You write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and make thoughtful tradeoffs between simplicity, performance, and correctness.
- You have designed and operated production systems where correctness, availability, security, and performance mattered at significant scale.
- You can take ambiguous, high-impact technical problems, define the right architecture, and drive them through to reliable production systems.
- You have strong systems-design instincts and understand concepts such as concurrency, consistency, caching, queues, rate limiting, backpressure, failure domains, idempotency, and graceful degradation.
- You think deeply about security boundaries and understand authentication, authorization, identity, cryptography, secrets, tenant isolation, and how small implementation choices can create significant security risks.
- You are comfortable reasoning across backend services, APIs, databases, distributed systems, and the cloud infrastructure they run on.
- You are comfortable diving into unfamiliar codebases and debugging complex problems that cross service or system boundaries.
- You care about the details of production engineering, including instrumentation, capacity planning, migrations, backwards compatibility, incident response, and safe rollouts.
- You are comfortable challenging existing architecture and evolving foundational components when the system’s needs change.
- You have a track record of taking technically difficult projects from an unclear starting point to systems that other engineers and customers depend on.
FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES AT COHERE ENJOY THESE PERKS:
- A weekly lunch stipend of $75/£75 or equivalent in your local currency for lunch.
- Full health and dental benefits, including a separate budget for mental health.
- RRSP matching, 401K, Pension Scheme.
- 100% Parental Leave top-up for up to 6 months, for either parent.
- Annual enrichment benefits:
Arts & culture, fitness/wellness, quality time, and a workspace improvement credit.
Education & learning stipend for conferences, courses, and coaching.
- 6 weeks of paid vacation (30 working days!)
- Budget for traveling to other offices if you are remote, plus an annual company offsite.
HOW AND WHERE WE WORK:
- Cohere is remote-friendly, but we also have offices in Toronto, London, New York City, San Francisco, Montreal, Paris, Berlin and Seoul with more opening soon.
- For those in the office: a daily lunch program, plenty of snacks, and regular community and social events.
- For those not near an office: a co-working benefit so you can work alongside others in your city.
- Everyone receives a $500 home office stipend to set up your workspace properly.
If any of the above doesn’t line up exactly with your experience, we still encourage you to apply.
We strive to create an inclusive work environment for all; we welcome applicants from all backgrounds and are committed to providing equal opportunities. Should you require any accommodations during the recruitment process, please submit an Accommodations Request Form https://docs.google.com/forms/d/12a6IrLdF3kI2nonKSr4tiFuz18rLQbaeYV-JM9L4o9Q/edit, and we will work together to meet your needs.
We may use AI-enabled tools to screen and assess applicants against the criteria for this position. This helps our recruiters identify potentially qualified candidates, but it doesn't limit the applications our recruiters may review or consider.
Beware of Scams: Cohere will never ask for payment or third-party services (e.g., CV writing) as part of our hiring process. All legitimate roles are listed on the Cohere careers page and LinkedIn only, with all communications from Cohere employees coming from an @cohere.com or @cw.cohere email alias. ABOUT RAMP
Ramp is building the smart infrastructure for finance teams, embedded in the transaction flow of every dollar a business spends. We automate how over $275B in annualized spend flows in and out of 85,000+ companies: authorizing payments, flagging risk, categorizing spend, and closing books.
The problems are high-stakes, data-dense, and unforgiving.
We hire people with high agency and high urgency. We look for slope over intercept. We care less about where you trained and more about what you’ve built. At Ramp, everyone is a builder who owns problems end to end and makes consequential decisions that shape the outcome.
The median Ramp customer saves 7.5% and grows revenue 16% in their first year – far in excess of businesses operating without Ramp. We believe every ambitious company deserves the same.
If you want to build systems that directly shape how companies move and manage billions, Ramp is the place to do it.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Feature & subscription activation — enable product tiers, configure accounts, and manage trial extensions, and coordinate billing
- Policy & process guidance — be the first line of support for AEs with questions about deal structure, approval requirements, and process
- Playbook development — document what you learn; help build the SOPs and escalation guides that make this function scalable
- Drive consistency across deal processes by helping to optimize, streamline, and automate quote-to-cash processes
- Serves as a subject matter expert on deal constructs, operational procedures, approval policies, and controls
WHAT YOU NEED
- 3-5 years in a Deal Desk environment, preferably in a high growth SaaS company.
- Experience with Salesforce, CPQ, and other sales-related systems, including pricing and data enrichment tools.
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal.
- Excellent project management instincts, with an ability to manage multiple projects at one time.

About the Role
At Playson, we work with a deliberately small team of people who own what they do. This role follows that model. You’ll ensure our presence at the industry’s biggest international exhibitions, organise our signature Playson&Friends parties, and the exclusive experiences we create for our closest partners. Here, one person’s ownership makes a visible difference. You’ll have real autonomy, direct access to decision-makers, and a brand that cares about quality in everything it puts its name on.
We’re looking for someone who takes a complex project with dozens of moving parts and closes it end to end: budget, vendors, logistics, brand, guests, and the details nobody else noticed. Our clients come to expect the same standard from our events as from our games, and that standard is quality.
Key Responsibilities
International exhibitions and industry events
- Participation at major iGaming events such as ICE, SiGMA and SBC. This runs from strategy and budget through booth design and build to on-site delivery and post-event review.

Client experiences
- Planning and producing Playson&Friends parties, our signature events where partners come together to celebrate and connect.
- Designing and delivering high-end experiences and one-of-a-kind moments for small groups of key clients.
- Handling every aspect: concept, venues, travel, hospitality, safety, timing and guest experience. Ensuring each experience feels effortless for the guest and reflects Playson’s brand.
Branded client hampers and promotional gifting
- Partnering with Account Managers to turn their promotional initiatives into branded and themed client hampers, including concept, sourcing, production, personalisation and international delivery.
- Building a reliable supplier network and a process that can deliver consistent quality at scale and on short notice.
Requirements
- 3+ years in event management, client hospitality or BTL marketing, ideally in iGaming, tech or entertainment.
- A proven track record of delivering complex international projects end to end, with personal accountability for the outcome. We’ll ask you for examples.
- The ability to manage several large projects at once and stay calm and decisive when plans change on-site.
- Experience producing premium, high-touch experiences for VIP or key-account audiences.
- Strong budget management and confident negotiation with suppliers and agencies.
- A creative eye, strong taste and close attention to brand consistency.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Knowledge of the global iGaming landscape and events ecosystem is a plus.
- Willingness to travel frequently.
What we Offer
- Benefit from a transparent and systematic quarterly bonus system.
- We offer a flexible work schedule to accommodate your needs.
- Choose to work remotely, providing greater flexibility and comfort.

Develop code quality scripts and checks for complexity, function and file size, dependency cycles, and performance regressions. Work with package owners on practical thresholds and targeted refactoring.
Improve development environments, testing, and build and release workflows so engineers and agents can verify changes reliably.
Prioritize improvements with engineering teams, support adoption through documentation and onboarding, and measure effectiveness, reliability, and operating costs.
Example projects include agents that investigate CI failures, diagnose compatibility and performance regressions, and flag changes that affect package interfaces or architecture. You will choose and refine these workflows with the engineers who use them.
Experience building and maintaining developer tools or engineering automation used by others, with strong JavaScript/TypeScript and
Node.js
skills.
Hands-on experience using and integrating AI coding tools or agents, with sound judgment about their limitations, output validation, and human review.
Experience with Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and systematic debugging of build, test, or integration failures.
A strong approach to code quality: maintainable code, useful automated checks, and refactoring that preserves behavior.
Ability to work independently, collaborate with engineers, and communicate clearly in English within a remote, globally distributed team.

About the job
We are looking for
Developer Productivity Engineer
to help QVAC application teams develop, review, test, and deliver reliable software with less friction. Your focus will be our desktop and mobile applications and their shared runtime, AI harness, and skills packages. You will build and maintain developer tools, integrate AI agents into engineering workflows, and improve code quality and delivery automation.
This is a hands-on engineering role with room to shape the tooling roadmap. You will work with engineers to identify useful improvements and own them from implementation through adoption and ongoing support. Success means shorter feedback loops, dependable automation, and tools that developers trust and use.

Evaluate, integrate, and maintain developer tools and AI agents, including the repository guidance and integrations they need to work effectively.
Build and operate agents in CI and scheduled workflows that investigate failures, propose fixes, and give engineers evidence they can act on.
Improve automated pull request reviews, evaluating finding accuracy and reducing noise for reviewers.
Develop code quality scripts and checks for complexity, function and file size, dependency cycles, and performance regressions. Work with package owners on practical thresholds and targeted refactoring.
