Analyze slow queries, lock conflicts, and resource bottlenecks (CPU/IO/memory), optimizing SQL statements and index designs.
Rapidly resolve production database incidents (e.g., replication lag, connection pool exhaustion, storage scaling).
Security & Compliance
Manage database access controls via Alibaba Cloud RAM policies and AWS IAM roles to ensure data security.
Perform regular database upgrades and audit log analysis to comply with GDPR, Multi-Tier Cloud Security Certification (MLPS), and other regulations.
Automation & Cost Management
Automate database deployment and operations using Terraform, Ansible, or cloud-native tools (Alibaba Cloud ROS, AWS CloudFormation).
Optimize cloud costs via auto-scaling, reserved instances, and storage tiering (e.g., AWS S3 Glacier).
Cross-Team Collaboration
Support development teams in database design reviews, SQL code standardization, and DevOps processes (e.g., database change management in CI/CD).
Team Management
Manage a team of DBAs to ensure timely completion of projects and efficient resolution of incidents.
What We Look For In You
Technical Skills
Expertise in database services of at least one major public cloud (Alibaba Cloud or AWS), with familiarity in the other.
In-depth understanding of core principles of mainstream databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis) and advanced SQL optimization/troubleshooting skills.
Experience with database migration tools (AWS DMS, Alibaba Cloud DTS) and cross-cloud synchronization solutions.
Experience Requirements
5+ years of DBA experience, including at least 2 years managing public cloud databases.

You’ll join a high-performing, strategic sales team focused on moving Honeycomb further into the enterprise space. Deliver predictable pipeline growth, accurate forecasting, and exceed quota targets
Represent Honeycomb at key industry events, conferences, and executive briefings
What you’ll bring to the role:
5+ years of full-cycle enterprise SaaS selling experience, ideally in DevOps, observability, or cloud infrastructure
Proven ability to land $500K+ multi-year deals with complex buying committees
Strong executive presence with the ability to influence C-level stakeholders across technical and non-technical roles
Deep discovery, storytelling, and consultative selling expertise
A track record of building champions and navigating enterprise buying cycles with precision
Grit, ambition, and a bias for execution—someone who thrives in fast-paced, high-ownership environments
Experience leveraging MEDDPICC, Command of the Message, or similar enterprise sales frameworks
On Target Earnings (OTE) based on level of experience (Base + Commission)
$275,000
—
$300,000 USD
What you'll get when you join the Hive:
A stake in our success - generous equity with employee-friendly stock program
It’s not about how strong of a negotiator you are - our pay is based on transparent levels relative to experience
Time to recharge with unlimited PTO
A distributed-first mindset and culture (really!)
Home office, co-working, and internet stipend
Full benefits coverage for employees, with additional coverage available for dependents
Up to 16 weeks of paid parental leave, regardless of path to parenthood
Annual development allowance
And much more...
Please note we cannot currently sponsor or support visa transfers at this time.
Additionally, in compliance with applicable law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work.

LXD is a modern Golang system container and virtual machine orchestrator widely used on Ubuntu, ChromeOS and other Linux platforms. LXD engineering spans the entire software stack from low-level kernel work on namespaces, confinement, security, filesystems, VMMs and networking, to the high level management REST API and CLI. As a software architect, you will drive the architecture, design and evolution of LXD, and also Canonical MicroCloud which combines LXD with Ceph and OVN to make a lean, easy to use and resilient cluster-scale cloud infrastructure.
We are looking for an outstanding software architect and engineer with experience in Golang and C, with the leadership qualities needed to rally a team to ship outstanding products. Knowledge of modern cloud infrastructure offerings, their APIs and their underlying technologies is a must.
This is an opportunity for someone who wants to have a meaningful impact on modern cloud computing technologies. Canonical offers a fun, fast-paced team environment and a career full of learning and development.
Location
: This is a home-based position available in EMEA and the Americas.

Leadership of the LXD and MicroCloud architecture
Mentor, develop and advise colleagues in their career progression
Develop in Golang and C
Review code produced by other engineers
Ensure the product is secure and performant
Display technical leadership in Canonical and our communities
Work from home with global travel twice annually for company events
What we are looking for in you
An exceptional academic track record from both high school and university
Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM
Drive, and a track record of going above-and-beyond expectations
Technical leadership as well as team motivation, direction and pace
Well-organized, self-starting and able to deliver to schedule
Professional manner in interacting with colleagues, partners, and community
Experience with Go and C
Experience with storage, networking and virtualization
Experience with container technologies
Experience with concurrent, distributed systems
Conscientiousness and detail orientation, with a focus on performance
Professional written and spoken English
Experience with Linux (Debian or Ubuntu preferred)
Excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability
What we offer colleagues
We consider geographical location, experience, and performance in shaping compensation worldwide. We revisit compensation annually (and more often for graduates and associates) to ensure we recognise outstanding performance. In addition to base pay, we offer a performance-driven annual bonus or commission. We provide all team members with additional benefits, which reflect our values and ideals. We balance our programs to meet local needs and ensure fairness globally.
Distributed work environment with twice-yearly team sprints in person
Personal learning and development budget of USD 2,000 per year
Annual compensation review
Recognition rewards
Annual holiday leave
Maternity and paternity leave
Employee Assistance Programme
Opportunity to travel to new locations to meet colleagues
