An overview of this role
As a Data Engineer at GitLab, you'll build, run, and maintain the pipelines and infrastructure that bring data from our enterprise applications, internal systems, and GitLab's software as a service (SaaS) platform into our data platform. Your work will power company reporting, data science, and artificial intelligence (AI) self-service.
You'll own features end to end, from source integration to tested, monitored, documented data ready for use. You'll focus on keeping the platform reliable, secure, and cost-efficient as data volumes and AI usage grow, and making governed data ready for AI tools, agents, and Model Context Protocol (MCP)-based access. This is an AI-first role: you'll use AI coding agents every day while maintaining high standards for code review and testing. You'll report to the Director, Data Platform.
What you’ll do
Build, extend, and maintain extract, load, transform (ELT) pipelines from enterprise applications such as Salesforce, Zuora, Zendesk, and Marketo, internal systems, and the GitLab SaaS platform. Integrate data through application programming interfaces (APIs) and event sources such as Snowplow.
Manage and maintain the infrastructure behind the platform, including SaaS tools such as Snowflake, Fivetran, and Monte Carlo, and self-managed services such as Airflow and Kubernetes.
Write maintainable, well-tested, performant Python and Structured Query Language (SQL) code that meets our internal standards, and review GitLab team members' merge requests.
Own day-to-day platform operations: triage and resolve failed pipelines, infrastructure issues, and GitLab team member requests. Use monitoring, service-level agreements (SLAs), data contracts, query and warehouse tuning, and data quality checks to keep the platform reliable and cost-efficient.
Partner with Analytics Engineers, Data Analysts, Data Scientists, Data Governance, and business partners so data lands in the shape they need for downstream use.
Use AI coding agents such as Claude Code, OpenCode, GitLab Duo, or similar tools to speed up development, debugging, testing, and documentation without compromising review rigor.
Apply role-based access control (RBAC) and masking policies to make governed data available to AI tools and agents. Handle data subject to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls, material nonpublic information (MNPI), and personal data safely.
Ship medium-sized features independently in small, iterative merge requests, and document architecture and runbooks in the handbook.
What You'll Bring
Professional experience shipping production data pipelines in Python.
Deep, hands-on SQL skills and experience with a cloud data warehouse; Snowflake is preferred.
Hands-on experience with ELT or extract, transform, load (ETL) pipelines at scale, including incremental loads, schema changes, backfills, and API ingestion.
Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow, familiarity with dbt, and solid data modeling fundamentals, including Kimball dimensional modeling.
Experience running and troubleshooting data infrastructure, with comfort using Git-based workflows, continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD), and code review.
Hands-on experience using AI coding tools in your daily work, with an understanding of where they help and where they fall short.
Clear written communication, the ability to use GitLab, and comfort working asynchronously in a fully remote organization in line with GitLab's values.
Preferred, not required: experience with Snowflake; Docker, Kubernetes, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Terraform; SaaS application APIs such as Salesforce, Zuora, or Zendesk; data observability tooling; or Snowflake administration.
About the team
The Data Platform team within Enterprise Data is responsible for a scalable, reliable and secure data platform for data analytics at GitLab. That includes managing and maintaining the infrastructure we use, both SaaS and self-managed, and building and maintaining the data pipelines that bring data into it. We make data reliable, secure and ready for analytics, data science and AI tools. As more questions go straight to AI tools and agents, the platform underneath has to be more reliable, better governed and more cost-efficient than ever. We're fully remote and globally distributed, and work asynchronously through issues, merge requests and the handbook.

As an Intermediate Backend Engineer on the GitLab Orbit team, you'll help build and operate a graph data service that supports GitLab Duo agents, analytics, and architecture-level features across GitLab.com, Dedicated, and Self-Managed deployments. You'll join a Rust-first team that values clear ownership, thoughtful system design, and rigorous thinking about data and reliability.
The Knowledge Graph service is a Rust backend that builds a property graph from GitLab’s software development lifecycle (SDLC) and code data. It uses ClickHouse, NATS JetStream, and the Data Insights Platform. It exposes secure graph queries and MCP tools used by AI agents and product features. In this role, you’ll deliver features and improvements in well-scoped areas, learn the broader architecture, and contribute to reliability, observability, and operational readiness.
In your first year, you’ll take clear ownership of specific components or features (for example, parts of the SDLC indexing pipeline or query paths). You’ll help reduce single points of failure with better tests and runbooks, and you’ll help the team ship analytical services that are easier to maintain and evolve over time.
What you’ll do
Implement and iterate on backend features in the Rust-based Knowledge Graph service, including changes to the query engine, SDLC and code indexing flows, and API endpoints (including MCP endpoints) under guidance from senior and staff engineers.
Maintain integrations between Knowledge Graph and the rest of the GitLab platform, working in areas that touch GitLab Rails, the Data Insights Platform (Siphon, NATS, ClickHouse), and GitLab Duo Agent Platform.
Contribute to system design discussions by proposing options, raising questions, and documenting decisions, with a focus on reliability, scalability, and maintainability for analytical graph workloads.
Improve the operational maturity of the service by adding or enhancing metrics, logging, runbooks, alerts, and small readiness tasks, and by participating in on-call rotation as appropriate for your level and experience.
Collaborate asynchronously with product, data, infrastructure, security, and AI counterparts to clarify requirements, align on scope, and ship features safely for customers and sustainably for the team.
Use AI-assisted development workflows responsibly (for example, using Knowledge Graph-backed agents and internal Duo tooling), and share what works with the team while keeping a strong focus on code quality and correctness.
Participate in code reviews, knowledge-sharing sessions, and pairing to both learn from others and help maintain consistent standards across the codebase.
Contribute across the stack when needed, including occasional Ruby work for Rails integration and authorization paths, or small frontend changes related to Knowledge Graph features (for example, Software Architecture Map UI plumbing).
What you’ll bring
Professional experience building and maintaining backend systems in production, with an understanding of reliability, maintainability, and how to support services over time (for example, incident response and follow-ups).
Proficiency in at least one modern backend language and strong interest in Rust, with either prior Rust experience or clear evidence you can ramp quickly and deliver in a Rust-first, performance-sensitive codebase.
Some exposure to distributed data or analytics systems (for example, OLAP databases, Kafka- or NATS-style messaging, or change data capture (CDC) pipelines), or strong motivation to develop those skills in this role.
Interest in graph data modeling and query patterns (property graphs, multi-step (n-hop) traversals, aggregations), and willingness to learn the tools and concepts used in Knowledge Graph over time.
Practical experience (or strong interest) using AI tools in day-to-day development, along with a thoughtful approach to validating outputs and integrating AI into your workflow.
A language-agnostic mindset and evidence that you can pick up new languages and frameworks as needed (for example, Ruby, Go, or TypeScript/Vue where the work touches adjacent systems).
Solid fundamentals in system design for your level, including the ability to reason about trade-offs, ask good questions, and align your implementation work with documented architectural decisions.
Comfort working in a low-process, high-ownership environment where you take responsibility for your work, refine problem statements with teammates, and communicate progress clearly in writing across time zones in an all-remote team.
About the team
GitLab Orbit sits within the Data Engineering organization. We work closely with partners across AI (Duo Agent Platform), analytics, infrastructure and delivery, and security because our work spans many parts of the platform.
We collaborate asynchronously rather than following a feature factory model. A key challenge for us right now is scaling sustainably as usage grows and team members take time off. That includes hardening multi-tenant behavior. At the same time, we're bringing Knowledge Graph to

Reports to: Manager, Renewals

Solutions and outputs are reviewed by more senior team members and/or the direct manager.
What You’ll Do
Manage an assigned portfolio of customer renewals tracking key dates and driving them to on-time closure.
Have real, consultative conversations with customers throughout the renewal cycle to understand how they're actually using the product and where they're headed next.

Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in the CRM/renewals system for forecasting and reporting.
Prioritize tasks with guidance from more senior team members to drive quality, timely results.
Contribute to team goals by working collaboratively with peer RM’s.
What You’ll Bring
Can execute basic renewal processes independently ("basic knots") and has been introduced to more advanced scenarios ("complex knots") such as multi-year deals, upsell-attached renewals, or non-standard terms.
Developing understanding of GitLab's way of working, values, and high-performance culture.
Awareness of GitLab's remote work best practices.
Growth mindset and sense of ownership — proactively seeks out ways to learn and improve, and takes action rather than waiting for direction.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills; comfortable managing many renewals at once.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to follow defined processes and frameworks while flagging exceptions appropriately.
Collaborative mindset and openness to feedback and coaching from senior teammates and manager.
The ability to travel for events such as trainings, team offsites, customer meetings, etc.

Design, run, and evaluate growth experiments (A/B tests and quasi-experiments) on onboarding, pricing and packaging, and upgrade flows, and measure their impact on activation, conversion, and retention
Build and operationalize agentic workflows for analysis, modeling, and pipeline automation, with evaluation and monitoring that keep agent-generated insights accurate, traceable, and trustworthy.
Contribute to GitLab’s Semantic Layer enabling stakeholders and agents to self-serve metrics using trusts and tested sources.
Write production-grade Python and SQL that meets internal standards for style, maintainability, and performance in a high-scale database environment; maintain and advocate for these standards through code review
What you’ll bring
3-5 years of professional experience in GTM analytics, data science, or a similar technical role
Demonstrated ability to translate ambiguous business problems into clear, measurable questions and communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
Experience with experimentation and causal inference (A/B testing, power analysis, quasi-experimental methods) and with statistical and machine learning methods such as regression, classification, clustering, and survival analysis
Deep, hands-on understanding of SQL in cloud data warehouses (like Snowflake SQL), including working with product usage and event data, and in business intelligence tools (Looker, Tableau, Hex, or similar)
Experience using Python for statistical modeling, machine learning, and production data science. With hands-on experience in pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, Jupyter, and related libraries such as LightGBM and XGBoost
Hands-on experience building agentic workflows with AI coding agents (e.g., Claude Code, OpenCode, or similar), including connecting agents to the right context, tools, and platforms such as MLflow, and evaluating their output for accuracy and reliability.
Experience working in a B2C company working with motions and metrics, including Consumption, CRR, ARR, and Churn & Contraction
Self-motivated and self-managing, with strong organizational skills
Ability to use GitLab and to thrive in a fully remote organization
About the Team

An Overview of this Role
As Senior Manager, Data Science, you'll lead Product Data Science: a team of 6 Data Scientists within GitLab's data organization, reporting to the Director of Data Science. You have two mandates:
Drive product impact now.
Set the analytical agenda for your product areas and make sure the team's work changes decisions.
Build the merged Data Science function.
Define excellence for a Data Scientist who blends analytics and data science, and grow the team to that bar.
You lead mainly through others, and step in hands-on when it matters: reviewing a model, pressure-testing an analysis, or writing the query yourself.
What you’ll do
Set a long-range vision and roadmap for Product Data Science, and show the team how its goals connect to company strategy
Own prioritization and trade-offs across product areas, and adapt the team as priorities shift
Be the go-to partner for Product and Engineering leaders on complex and urgent questions, choosing the right approach: a deep dive, an experiment, or a production model
Raise risks and resource gaps early, and bring senior leaders clear options to drive timely decisions
Hire, coach, and retain a high-performing team: build career paths, act on team feedback, and make tough talent decisions when needed
Build a high-trust culture of urgency and accountability, where the team communicates openly, shares progress on a predictable cadence, and delivers quality results on time
Set standards for experimentation, causal inference, metric definition, and production modeling
What you’ll bring
10+ years in data science, product analytics, or a related field, including 3+ years managing data science or analytics teams in B2B SaaS or tech
Strong product sense and a track record as a trusted partner to Product and Engineering leaders
Exceptional communicator who makes complex problems and findings clear to any audience, from Product leaders to executives, and coaches others to do the same
Thrives in ambiguity: structures undefined problems, gathers the right information, and makes sound decisions on high-risk, cross-team issues
Courage to challenge: offers dissenting views, asks tough questions, and fosters inclusive debate
Deep expertise in statistics and experimentation, including hands-on use of quasi-experimental methods (difference-in-differences, synthetic control, propensity score matching)
Expert SQL (Snowflake preferred) and strong Python, with experience taking ML models to production
Fluent with AI tools, with sound judgment on when AI output can be trusted
Able to use GitLab, thrive in an all-remote, asynchronous company, model GitLab's remote working competencies, and work in line with GitLab's values
Nice to Have
Experience with developer tools, DevSecOps, or product-led growth products
Experience measuring adoption and quality of AI-powered product features
Thought leadership in data science or analytics, internally and externally
Advanced degree in a quantitative field
About the Team
Product Data Science brings Data Science and Analytics together into one function. Our Data Scientists are business partners first, pairing strong product judgment with deep skill in SQL, Python, statistics, and machine learning. We help Product and Engineering decide what to build, measure what worked, and understand how customers get value from GitLab.
The opportunity is growing fast. AI is driving growth in GitLab's consumption business, creating new ways for data to drive growth. As AI takes over routine reporting, the team focuses on the hard problems: experimentation, causal inference, production models, and recommendations leaders act on.

We're building one place where your knowledge, projects, meetings, and AI tools live side by side, so work is faster, clearer, and less fragmented. Millions of individuals, small teams, and large companies run their work on Notion.
Notinos (our employees) are customer zero in bringing this future of work to life. We care about craft, building things that last, and the belief that great work is still fundamentally human. Our goal isn’t to ship the next feature. Each and every team of Notinos is working to set the standard for how humans work together in the AI era. From building a business’s system of record to making and managing AI agents to automating away the busy work, we care deeply about giving our customers more time for their life’s work.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Notion is rebuilding its go-to-market motion around a workflow-first, builder-led model—and the BDR is at the front of it. As a Business Development Rep, you'll be the force that turns the right accounts into the right conversations. You'll partner closely with Solutions Consultants to identify and target companies that are ready to rethink how they work—and your job is to get them in the room. If you're competitive, curious, and energized by outbound that actually means something, this is the role for you.
WHAT YOU'LL ACHIEVE
- Generate qualified, workflow-first pipeline by identifying and targeting high-potential accounts in your assigned book, partnering with your sellers on account and outbound strategy
- Run multi-channel outbound campaigns—email, phone, LinkedIn, and events—to create urgency and secure first meetings with the right decision-makers
- Conduct initial qualification to ensure meetings handed to sellers are "ready to build," not just "ready to talk"—validating ICP, intent, and workflow fit before the handoff
- Document and deliver clean handoff packets in Salesforce with ICP signals, pain points, workflow hypothesis, and stakeholder context so sellers can hit the ground running
- Leverage GTM System tooling and intent data to sharpen targeting, prioritize accounts by signal strength, and increase the quality and consistency of your outbound motion
SKILLS YOU'LL NEED TO BRING
- Business fluency in English and Polish
- Proven track record in outbound pipeline generation, with hands-on experience in cold prospecting across phone, email, and social channels
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft compelling, persona-specific outreach that earns a response
- Sharp qualification instincts—able to quickly assess ICP fit, identify urgency, and set solutions condsultants up for high-quality first conversations
- Passion for AI/ML and understanding of API-first or consumption-based business models
- High-activity mindset with the discipline to prioritize based on signal and data, not just volume
- You don't need to be an AI expert, but you're curious and willing to adopt AI tools to work smarter and deliver better results.
NICE TO HAVES
- Experience with Salesforce, Outreach, or similar GTM tooling
- Familiarity with Notion as a product or prior experience selling productivity, collaboration, or workflow software
- Background in a high-velocity, metric-driven outbound environment with clear pipeline targets
Notion is committed to providing highly competitive cash compensation, equity, and benefits. The compensation offered for this role will be based on multiple factors such as location, the role's scope and complexity, and the candidate's experience and expertise, and may vary from the range provided below. The estimated on target earnings (including base salary and on target incentive pay) for this role is €70,000 per year.

A NOTE ON AI
You don’t need deep AI expertise for every role, but we do expect every Notino to be intellectually curious, drawn to tinkering and discovery, and excited to use AI as a real collaborator in their work. For some roles, AI fluency is a core requirement — when that’s the case, we'll say so explicitly in the qualifications. People who thrive here don’t treat AI as a novelty. They use it to think better, and make their work easier for others to build on.

An overview of this role
As a Senior Compensation Manager at GitLab, you'll lead the design, planning, and execution of compensation programs that help us attract, retain, and reward team members. You'll own recurring programs, including the annual focal merit cycle, and provide guidance and oversight for promotion cycles, quarterly equity grant cycles, and semi-annual bonus programs. Working closely with Total Rewards leadership and partners across People, Finance, and Legal, you'll turn program objectives into clear deliverables, establish processes and controls, and see complex cycles through from planning to closeout. Your work will help ensure accurate, timely delivery and a clear experience for leaders, People teams, and team members.
You'll be based in the United States. We prefer a West Coast location to support collaboration with stakeholders across time zones.
What you’ll do
Lead compensation programs from design and readiness through approvals, processing, communication, and post-cycle review, including ownership of the annual focal merit cycle and oversight of promotion, quarterly equity, and semi-annual bonus cycles.
Define program calendars, decision points, responsibilities, controls, and success measures. Coordinate dependencies and keep stakeholders informed of progress, risks, and decisions.
Ensure compliance with eligibility rules and develop process documentation, manager resources, and communications. Advise People Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and leaders on program application and exceptions, escalating policy and governance decisions when needed.
Analyze compensation data and program outcomes, develop recommendations for Total Rewards leadership, and partner with Finance on budgeting, cost modeling, and reconciliation.
Partner with People Technology and IT systems stakeholders to improve workflows, reporting, and usability.
Validate inputs and outputs, ensure timely processing, maintain audit and control documentation, and protect confidential compensation information.
Oversee the annual refresh of global compensation and equity ranges to ensure accuracy, and support compensation partners with program delivery and analysis.
Lead improvements that reduce program risks and friction, strengthen consistency and transparency, and improve the team member experience. Use clear documentation and asynchronous communication to coordinate work across time zones.
What you’ll bring
Experience designing and operating compensation programs, with expertise in corporate compensation and public company equity and a record of delivering complex merit, equity, bonus, or promotion cycles accurately from planning through closeout.
Strong analytical and spreadsheet skills, including interpreting compensation data, building scenarios, checking assumptions, and explaining findings to decision-makers.
An understanding of compensation governance, data integrity, and controls, with discretion and sound judgment when handling confidential information and sensitive decisions.
The ability to translate policy and strategy into operating procedures, system requirements, and stakeholder guidance, plus experience with human resources information systems and compensation planning tools such as Pave and Workday, and comfort working on a Mac.
Attention to detail, practical problem-solving skills, and the persistence to work through complex issues and deliver accurate outcomes. You can learn unfamiliar programs, systems, and business contexts quickly.
The ability to build trusted partnerships, advise leaders and People teams, resolve ambiguity, and move decisions forward without relying on formal authority.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to coordinate with global partners across time zones using asynchronous practices.
Helpful, but not required: experience supporting a global, distributed workforce, including partners in India or other locations outside the United States; compensation-cycle communications; and experience in a software or technology company.

An overview of this role
Support Engineering at GitLab believes that healthy teams deliver a healthy customer experience, and that command during a crisis shouldn't fall to whoever happens to be senior and available. GitLab's global Incident & Escalation Management (IM/EM) function coordinates critical incidents, complex multi-team engagements, and executive-level escalations for enterprise customers. As Escalation Manager, you'll own complex, executive, and commercial escalations where customer trust and the relationship are at stake, alongside or independently of a technical issue.
In this functional role, you'll advocate for customers inside GitLab, coordinate teams toward resolution, and lead relationship repair after the event.
What you'll do
Own complex, executive, and commercial escalations end-to-end, as defined in GitLab's IM/EM engagement model.
Advocate for customers internally and coordinate Engineering, Support, Product, Customer Success, and Sales toward resolution, tracking commitments and holding owning teams accountable to agreed dates and deliverables.
Maintain a written, customer-facing resolution plan from engagement through confirmed resolution, updating it at each communication milestone.
Coordinate with Incident Managers during concurrent technical incidents to maintain a single, coherent narrative for the customer.
Own external escalation communications using GitLab's approved templates and cadence, and represent GitLab in high-stakes customer conversations where clarity and ownership influence retention.
Engage Sales, Customer Success, and executive stakeholders as needed, including executive-to-executive communication for Severity 1 and 2 events. Brief GitLab leadership with concise summaries that distinguish what's known, what's unknown, and next steps.
Lead post-escalation reviews and relationship repair plans, contribute corrective actions with named owners and due dates to postmortems, and hand the relationship back to the account's Customer Success Manager at resolution.
Partner with the Head of IM/EM to develop playbooks, communication templates, and process improvements based on patterns from escalations.
What you'll bring
Experience in enterprise technical support, customer success, or incident and escalation management at a business-to-business software-as-a-service or enterprise software company.
A track record of owning complex, multi-stakeholder escalations end-to-end, including executive customer engagements and structured resolution or account plans.
Executive-level written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical detail into plain-language updates for customers and GitLab leadership.
The ability to coordinate Engineering, Support, Product, Customer Success, and Sales under pressure without formal authority over those teams.
Calm, structured decision-making with incomplete information and the ability to provide a steadying presence in high-stress customer situations.
Proficiency with support and coordination tools such as Zendesk, Salesforce, Slack, and PagerDuty, or equivalent platforms.
Availability for on-call coverage supporting executive escalations as part of a globally distributed team.
Nice to have:
Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation or equivalent certification; customer-facing experience with GitLab, development, security, and operations (DevSecOps), continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD), or cloud-native products; experience with formal escalation or incident command frameworks; or AI-assisted support tools for triage, sentiment analysis, or resolution drafting.
About the team
The Incident & Escalation Management function sits within Support Engineering in GitLab's Enterprise Technology & AI (ETA) division. We operate a follow-the-sun model anchored in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and Asia-Pacific, providing year-round, 24-hour coverage for enterprise customers. Our Escalation Managers work globally rather than within a single region, partnering with Incident Managers, Communications Leads, and regional Support Engineering leadership. You'll help shape our playbooks, templates, and standards as we scale.
