This role may require in-person interview/s in Austin, Texas
About Osano:
Osano is an innovative B-Corporation built around a simple belief: privacy is a fundamental right. Since day one, we’ve been focused on giving modern enterprises the ability to innovate quickly, stay competitive, and earn customer trust by respecting data privacy and complying with consent guidelines. Our products help organizations operate confidently in a rapidly evolving regulatory and technological landscape.
About The Role:
We're looking for a product-minded
Senior Software Engineer
to own meaningful parts of the Osano platform end to end, from shaping a problem with Product to running the result in production.
This role is for an engineer who treats AI tooling as a real force multiplier. You use coding agents and AI-assisted workflows to explore unfamiliar code faster, ship more and remove repetitive work. You also have the judgment to verify everything that goes out under your name. We want someone whose impact goes beyond what they write by hand, and who helps the engineers around them do the same.
You'll work across our React front end, Node.js services, PostgreSQL data stores and AWS infrastructure. You'll partner closely with Product, Design, QA and Security.
This is a remote role. You must be based in, and authorized to work in, the United States.
What you'll do:
Build and ship product, end to end
Lead multi-sprint projects from design through rollout: turn a loosely defined problem into a plan, break it into work that you and others can action, and deliver close to estimate.
Design systems that hold up, and write design docs and decision records that weigh the alternatives.
Partner with Product on scope: propose MVP cuts, phasing and tradeoffs, and measure whether what we shipped actually helped customers.
Engineer with AI to multiply your impact
Use AI coding agents and assistants across the whole development lifecycle: exploring codebases, scaffolding, writing tests, debugging, refactoring, migrations and code review.
Stay accountable for every line you ship. You understand and can explain AI-generated code, and you know where AI shouldn't be trusted.
Turn repetitive engineering work into automation: scripts, agent workflows, and checks that save your team time every week.
Share what works: help define how our teams use AI tools, and how we review and verify AI-assisted work.
Use AI responsibly. Customer and personal data stays out of AI tools except through approved, privacy-safe paths. This is non-negotiable at a privacy company.
Own what you ship in production
Build observability, feature flags and rollback paths into your work from the start.
Take turns on our triage and on-call rotation. Lead incident response for your team's systems, and see postmortem follow-ups through to completion.
Identify tech debt, size it, and make the case to get it into the plan.
Build with privacy and security by design
Apply data minimization, residency, retention and access controls to the systems you design, especially those that handle customer and personal data.
Write secure code and fix vulnerabilities in your area as part of normal work.
Raise the bar and grow others
Give code and design reviews that change outcomes, not just approvals.
Mentor engineers earlier in their careers, and make your team better at testing, reviewing and operating software.
Interview candidates and help us hire well.
About you:
Delightful Experience.
You care about the customer problem, not just the ticket, and you push for what actually helps.
Own Your Impact.
You take full responsibility for outcomes, from the first design doc to how the feature behaves in production at 2 a.m.
Stronger Together.
You put team success ahead of individual wins, give direct and kind feedback, and treat documentation and async communication as first-class work.
Growth Mindset.
You're curious and keep learning, especially as AI changes how software gets built. You're excited about what it can do without overselling it or ignoring its limits.
You're comfortable with ambiguity and create clarity for others through good design and clear writing.
Must-haves:
Typically
5+ years
building and shipping production software. We care more about what you've owned than the number of years.
A track record of
leading multi-sprint projects
from design to production in a team setting.
Strong
JavaScript/Node.js
and
React
experience, and solid
relational database
skills (PostgreSQL preferred).
Strong
system design
fundamentals: data modeling, API design, and naming the tradeoffs.
Experience
owning production systems
: on-call, incident response, observability.
Hands-on, day-to-day use of AI coding tools
such as Claude Code, Cursor or Copilot, with concrete examples of how they made you or your team more effective, and how you verify their output.
Experience
mentoring
other engineers.
Strong
written communication
in a remote, async environment.
Nice-to-haves:
AWS experience (ECS/Fargate, Lambda, S3, RDS), especially multi-region or data-residency work.
Privacy, security or compliance-sensitive B2B SaaS (GDPR, CCPA, SOC 2).
Building AI-powered automations, agent workflows or LLM-based product features.
Data and analytics tooling (Redshift, Athena) or event-driven architectures.
CI/CD, preview/ephemeral environments, end-to-end testing (Cypress).
How we work:
Fully remote, with at least four hours of overlap each day with your team's core hours.
Collaborative and video-on for meetings, and async-first for everything else. Bring people in when they are needed and share what you’re working on with the team.
Regular 1:1 checkins with your manager, with a focus on growth conversations.
Why Us:
We're a welcoming team that's dependable, curious, moves fast, and full of talented people
We're a B-corporation with a mission that matters, in a high-growth space with significant potential
You'll have access to our training program, well-defined career paths, and a leadership team that values professional development
Benefits:
Competitive-pay compensation and ownership interest/equity
Unlimited paid time off, plus a requirement to take at least two weeks off per year
We're a Best Place for Working Parents and offer paid parental leave for all new parents
Osano sponsors individual premiums on base plans at 100% and dependent premiums at 50% for Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance via Aetna
A fully and permanently remote company, so you can work from anywhere in the U.S.
Receive a MacBook and $600 to craft your home workspace
Annual company trip designed to foster connection, creativity, and fun
Mental health benefits with free memberships to mindfulness and talk therapy services

YOUR TEAM AND ROLE
As a Director, Paid Marketing, working on the Marketing & Communications team, you’ll be a strategic leader responsible for building and scaling a profitable paid subscriber acquisition program and related projects. Partnering closely with marketing, product, design, user insights, data science and finance teams, you will own KPI development, campaign strategy, budget and resource allocation, and performance measurement.
You'll lead strategic roadmapping, prioritize high-impact projects, resource cross-functional teams, and ensure marketing performance is measured with a high degree of confidence. The right person is excited to prove that paid marketing growth and privacy-respecting advertising practices aren’t at odds — they’re our edge. You know how to use aggregate measurement, experimentation, and strong judgment rather than user-level targeting and tracking.
Example projects include:
- Leading the development of and alignment around a break-even model that defines a profitable CPA
- Planning integrated campaigns and securing buy-in to drive profitable paid subscriber growth
- Designing and executing rapid testing cycles to identify and scale successful tactics
ABOUT YOU
- 10+ years of professional experience, including 4+ years in a senior leadership role driving profitable app subscription growth (ideally 1M+ subscribers).
- Deep strategic expertise with a strong hands-on understanding of marketing channels (e.g., app store ads, paid social, mobile app networks), integrated campaign planning and execution, performance measurement, audience alignment, and creative best practices.
- Proven track record of launching paid app subscription acquisition programs from the ground up, including setting cost-per-subscription targets, developing media plans, establishing measurement frameworks, and shaping creative and messaging.
- Experience working at a consumer-facing tech company with a meaningful US user base (ideally 10M+ MAUs) and multiple products.
- Skill in developing others, not just directing them, with demonstrated improvements in collaboration, expertise, productivity, and business impact.
- Ability to apply first-principles thinking to break down ambiguous growth opportunities, challenge assumptions, identify the key drivers, and turn them into focused, achievable initiatives.
- Comfort working in resource-constrained orgs where opportunity cost and impact are key drivers for prioritization and resource allocation.
- High capability in analytics and measurement, including app economics (payback, LTV), incrementality/lift testing, modeling, and data analysis.
- Excellent communication skills — you can clearly articulate recommendations and rationale, verbally and in writing, at all organizational levels.
- Willingness to use AI and build effective workflows, accelerating work through AI agents.
COMPENSATION
Compensation is transparent across the organization, and all team members within the same professional level and global region receive the same compensation, plus stock options:
- United States: $263,300 USD
- United Kingdom: £183,850 GBP
- Canada: CA$346,250 CAD
- All other regions*: €214,950 EUR

An overview of this role
We are looking for a Backend Engineer to join our
Change Record
team within GitLab’s
Source Code stage
. As AI agents increasingly write code alongside people, every change needs a clear, trustworthy record of what changed, why, and who or what made it. You’ll build that record into GitLab’s source code experience, for humans and agents alike. This is a backend-focused role for an engineer with full-stack experience who enjoys balancing work on existing systems with new product development.
That work happens in one of GitLab’s oldest and most complex product areas, where you’ll use Ruby on Rails to improve a critical system serving GitLab.com, self-managed instances, and GitLab Dedicated. Source Code provides the interface layer, through Gitaly, to the Git repositories behind a large share of GitLab traffic, so you’ll help keep it reliable through performance tuning, caching, rate limiting, observability, and resiliency, collaborating with product, design, security, Gitaly, Code Review, and Source Code Experience teams. Supporting production systems and improving established experiences are central to the role, especially while you’re onboarding, and over time you’ll also help build experiences for developers working with agents.
You'll work remotely from the United Kingdom or Poland.
What you’ll do
Develop secure, well-tested, performant features and improvements using Ruby on Rails and GraphQL, among other technologies.
Work through complex requirements and legacy constraints to deliver clear solutions while protecting the reliability of this critical system.
Design and maintain backend services, APIs, data models, and business logic that support intuitive source code workflows.
Collaborate across functions and teams, both asynchronously and synchronously, and involve domain experts when their input will improve the outcome.
Use AI agents for well-scoped work when they can speed up delivery without sacrificing quality, and critically review their output.
Write maintainable code that follows GitLab's standards and contribute to constructive code reviews.
Help strengthen reliability by monitoring production health metrics, participating in Tier 2 on-call, troubleshooting incidents, contributing to root cause analysis, and improving observability and resiliency.
Share knowledge through code review, technical documentation, and everyday collaboration while learning from others.
What you’ll bring
Professional experience building backend web applications, services, or application programming interfaces, with experience using Ruby and GraphQL.
An understanding of relational databases, structured query language, data modeling, caching, background processing, and backend performance practices.
Experience with full-stack development to build and maintain user-facing workflows and their underlying systems.
Experience writing backend unit and integration tests, with familiarity with the testing pyramid, Git, and collaborative code review processes.
Clear written and spoken English communication skills, including sharing useful status updates in a remote, asynchronous environment.
The ability to manage assigned priorities, work through ambiguity, take ownership of your work, and seek guidance when needed.
Experience using AI coding agents to speed up software development while critically reviewing their output.
Bonus: you’ve built agents or agent-based workflows that run in production, not just prototypes.
About the team
The functional team works across Europe and North America, supporting both synchronous and asynchronous collaboration. It includes four engineers, comprising both backend and frontend engineers. We work closely with other Source Code teams, Agentic Preview, Repository Services, and Hardening, as well as other teams in the company such as the Gitaly team, and the AI Governance team.
The base salary range for this role’s listed level is currently for residents of the EU, applicable in the specified country or countries only. MEET THE TEAM 👥
This role offers direct involvement in how a company is built and run: the choices about products, people, capital and execution that determine its success.
You’ll work with Barney and the leadership team to investigate difficult questions, develop independent recommendations and turn them into results. Your work might range from diagnosing why a product is underperforming to evaluating a new market, shaping a fundraising narrative or leading a company-wide initiative.
The standard is high. You’ll need to get deep into unfamiliar subjects, interrogate the numbers, challenge assumptions and explain your reasoning clearly. You’ll be expected to contribute your own view and take responsibility for what happens next.
As you build trust and context, you’ll take on greater autonomy, represent Barney in important discussions and own substantial work on his behalf. You’ll see how decisions play out and develop your judgement through direct experience.
For someone who intends to found a company, lead a business or become an investor, this is an opportunity to build the operating experience and commercial judgement to do it well.
ABOUT THE ROLE ✍️
We’re hiring a Chief of Staff to partner with our CEO. Working alongside the leadership team, you’ll be the right hand to our CEO, driving the priorities that matter most across Cleo 🌱
- Investigate consequential questions. Analyse markets, products, customer behaviour and business performance. Establish what the evidence says, identify the choices and trade-offs, and make a clear recommendation.
- Own major initiatives. Take priorities off the CEO’s plate and drive them from an ambiguous starting point through to delivery. Work across functions, establish ownership, resolve obstacles and stay accountable for the outcome.
- Improve business performance. Get close to Cleo’s numbers. Identify where results diverge from expectations, work with leaders to understand the causes and help drive a credible response.
- Support fundraising and board decisions. Work with the CEO, Finance and leadership team on rigorous analysis, compelling materials and a clear account of our strategy, performance and capital needs.
- Make leadership time count. Shape discussions around the decisions that matter, prepare useful briefs and follow commitments through to completion. Partner with the CEO’s EA to align his time with his priorities.
- Write and communicate with precision. Produce decision papers, presentations and internal and external communications. Make complex ideas understandable and the reasoning behind recommendations easy to assess.
- Exercise independent judgement. Surface uncomfortable facts, challenge assumptions constructively and explain what would change your view. Build relationships across the business so your recommendations are informed and your work gets done.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR 🕵️
We’re looking for someone with exceptional ability, independent judgement and the ambition to take on consequential work. You may have developed these qualities in strategy, finance, technology, research, entrepreneurship or another demanding field. We’ll assess the quality of your thinking, the difficulty of what you’ve taken on and what you personally achieved.
- A record of exceptional achievement. You’ve distinguished yourself through the quality and impact of your work. You can point to difficult problems you solved, significant responsibility you earned and results you personally delivered. We’ll want to understand your contribution and what made the work demanding.
- Intellectual depth and range. You’ve gone deep in at least one area and can get to grips with unfamiliar subjects quickly. You ask incisive questions, reason from first principles and connect ideas across disciplines.
- Independent judgement. You distinguish evidence from assumption, form a clear view and explain your reasoning. You’re comfortable challenging strong opinions, admitting uncertainty and changing your mind when the facts warrant it.
- Analytical and commercial ability. You’re confident working with numbers, interrogating business performance and evaluating trade-offs. You can turn incomplete information into a sound recommendation and connect detailed analysis to its implications for the company.
- A record of execution. You bring structure to open-ended problems and take ownership through to the outcome. You earn cooperation from strong colleagues, resolve obstacles and follow through without needing to be chased.
- Exceptional communication. You write precise, persuasive prose, listen carefully and make complex ideas clear. You can disagree constructively, earn credibility with senior leaders and represent the CEO’s thinking accurately while contributing your own.
- Ambition, composure and low ego. You seek significant responsibility, welcome direct feedback and hold yourself to a demanding standard. You remain effective under pressure, handle sensitive information with discretion and bring care to both consequential decisions and routine preparation.
- Intelligent use of AI. You actively use AI tools to accelerate research, analysis, writing and execution. You test their outputs and retain responsibility for the quality of your work.
We welcome unconventional paths and evidence of excellence from different settings. Be ready to show us how you think, what you’ve built or changed, and what you learned from the results.
What you’ll gain
Direct access to the CEO’s thinking, close work with experienced leaders and the opportunity to see your recommendations tested in a real business. Your responsibility will grow as you demonstrate judgement and deliver results.
You’ll develop a practical understanding of how to set direction, allocate resources, evaluate performance and lead through others at a profitable AI company operating at scale.
WHAT WE OFFER
We offer benefits package built to support you in and out of work. Benefits vary by country 🌍 and include meaningful equity, comprehensive health insurance, mental health support, a paid one-month sabbatical after four years, a learning & development platform, pension or retirement contributions, and location-specific leave entitlements.

WHAT MATTERS
Cleo's mission is to change the world's relationship with money. Listed on Nasdaq (NBIS) and headquartered in Amsterdam, we have a global footprint with R&D hubs across Europe, the UK, North America and Israel. Our team of 1,500+ includes hundreds of engineers with deep expertise across hardware, software and AI R&D.
Nebius is building the infrastructure that powers the next generation of AI — and we're scaling fast. In line with our values, we're committed to an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive, and we're looking for a skilled Environmental, Health & Safety Specialist to help embed the standards and capability that keep our expanding operations safe, compliant and sustainable.
This is no ordinary role. We need a proactive, credible specialist who takes ownership of EHS delivery on the ground — someone who can translate strategy into practical action, act as a trusted voice of EHS with site and regional teams, and stay close enough to the detail to guide, challenge and support when it matters most.
This is a genuine opportunity to shape how EHS operates as Nebius scales. You'll have real autonomy to set priorities, build capability across your sites, and influence decisions at a site and regional level — backed by strong support from senior stakeholders and a growing global EHS function.
You'll be accountable for the quality, consistency and culture of EHS across your sites — working through others, upholding the standards your teams work to, and stepping in personally when situations demand calm, experienced judgement under pressure. Above all, you'll help make sound EHS practice a source of competitive advantage for Nebius, not a compliance exercise.
What you'll do
Own and implement the site EHS plan, turning policy and legislation into clear priorities and controls.
Bring the global EHS strategy to life in everyday work on site, making sure teams are well supported and equipped with the toolkit to advance site EHS performance.
Lead by example with site teams and contractors — setting expectations and building capability for safe outcomes.
Own and support the EHS relationship with site and regional stakeholders — advising on risk and holding them to account.
Support the site assurance programme — audits, inspections, and the quality of risk assessments and controls.
Support local teams in incidents and near-misses on your site — driving investigations, building a learning culture, and reporting with composure under pressure.
Apply and uphold the standard for construction, commissioning, operations, decommissioning and other high-risk activity, equipping frontline teams to manage risk on the ground.
Own the site EHS performance narrative — turning data into insight that drives decisions and accountable action plans.
Review site EHS data and performance metrics, acting on trends and insights to drive continuous improvement.
Support the environmental and sustainability agenda on your site, partnering with specialist teams to bring it to life day to day.
Represent Nebius locally with regulators, contractors and partners, protecting its credibility on EHS.
Champion Nebius's culture and values, embedding EHS as core to how your site operates.
What we're looking for
Credible, proactive, and people-focused. You'll bring:
NEBOSH Diploma / Certificate level, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or related field, plus 3+ years' Environmental, Health & Safety experience — or equivalent.
Strong working knowledge of country legislation, with a track record of translating it into practical, workable controls.
A genuine subject-matter expert on the ground — able to go deep on technical detail and bring that expertise into every stakeholder conversation.
Proven experience leading incident response and investigations, including in high-pressure situations, with the composure to make sound decisions under stress.
A track record of building trust and credibility with stakeholders at every level.
A genuine coaching and mentoring mindset, with experience developing capability in others.
Strong organisational and prioritisation judgement — able to balance risk, workload and pace.
Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to advise, challenge constructively, and bring fresh ideas forward.
A continuous-improvement mindset and the appetite to grow within a scaling function.
Preferred
5+ years' experience, including international or multi-site regulatory environments.
Experience within data centres, critical infrastructure, construction, engineering, commissioning or other high-risk environments.
Relevant qualifications: NEBOSH, IOSH, NCRQ, GradIOSH, CMIOSH or equivalent.
Experience supporting budgets or resourcing across multiple sites.
Why Nebius?
Make an impact — help shape EHS practice as Nebius scales.
Build something lasting — grow your expertise within a scaling function.
Work through partnership — advise, influence and be trusted alongside the business.
Be backed — join a growing global EHS function with real investment behind it.
Grow with us — build a lasting career as Nebius continues to scale.
Our approach
Environmental, health and safety isn't something we do separately — it's how we do the job. Strong outcomes come from partnership, trust, collaboration and shared accountability. As Specialist, your role is to uphold the standard, build capability in others, and create an environment where teams are equipped to make good decisions, manage risk effectively, and speak up, learn and improve.
If you want a role where your judgement is trusted and you can genuinely shape how we work, we'd love to hear from you.
Join Nebius. Help build the future of AI infrastructure — safely, responsibly and together.
