An overview of this role
As an Intermediate Fullstack Engineer on GitLab's Subscription Lifecycle team within Monetization, you'll build the frontend experiences and backend services customers use to view and manage subscriptions, renew products, configure auto-renewal, and manage billing accounts. Your work will span renewals, overages and reconciliations, subscription visibility, and budget and reservation management, keeping subscription, billing, and account data accurate and reliable. Because these workflows directly affect revenue, customer access, and financial information, you'll use technical judgment, safe and iterative rollouts, and a high bar for reliability and correctness.
Some examples of our projects:
Building a clear, reliable subscription view across the Customers Portal and related surfaces
Improving manual renewal and auto-renewal flows, including supporting emails, banners, and account experiences
What you'll do
Design and build fullstack features across the post-purchase subscription journey.
Contribute to the technical design and implementation of new subscription lifecycle capabilities.
Partner with Product and Design to translate renewal, billing account, and customer experience requirements into resilient, well-tested solutions.
Integrate subscription lifecycle workflows safely with billing, customer account, and internal admin systems.
Write maintainable, well-tested code and follow engineering practices for rollout safety and monitoring.
Participate in code reviews and provide thoughtful, constructive feedback.
Identify and reduce technical debt and architectural risk in the subscription lifecycle.
Participate in incident response for subscription and renewal issues, given their potential impact on revenue and customer access.
Take part in on-call or operational support where your team’s ownership model requires it.
What you'll bring
Professional experience as a fullstack engineer and confidence working across frontend and backend code.
Our purchase applications use Ruby on Rails (Must have) and Vue.js. (preferred) or React.
Experience owning technical direction for a product area, including proposing, discussing, and driving thorough, iterative solutions.
Experience building or maintaining transactional or checkout-style flows, ideally in a billing, ecommerce, or subscription context.
Familiarity integrating with third-party billing or customer relationship management systems, such as Zuora, Salesforce, or Stripe, is a plus, not a requirement.
A focus on safe, incremental delivery given the revenue and customer impact of this work.
The ability to communicate clearly and concisely about complex technical, architectural, and organizational problems and propose thorough, iterative solutions.
Written and spoken English proficiency sufficient to collaborate in a remote, largely asynchronous work environment.
Alignment with GitLab's values and a commitment to working in accordance with them.
About the team
The Subscription Lifecycle team is part of GitLab's Monetization section and owns the post-purchase subscription experience. You'll partner with Sales, Finance, Information Technology, and Support on secure, reliable purchasing, billing, provisioning, and utilization workflows, and report to the Engineering Manager, Purchase. The team works asynchronously, with regular planning and retrospectives and shared expectations for deployments, incident management, testing, and rollout safety. GitLab's mission is to enable everyone to contribute and co-create the software that powers our world. The Purchase team's mission is to make it as easy as possible for anyone to buy, add on to, or upgrade GitLab through a single, trustworthy, unified purchase experience. About Vercel:
Vercel is the agentic infrastructure company, freeing people and agents to ship what's next. For more than a decade we've helped builders move from idea to production with speed, security, and exceptional developer experience.
Now we're scaling our products for both agents and people to ship and run software, built in the open and trusted by OpenAI, PayPal, Ramp, Supreme, and millions of developers worldwide.
About the role:
Agents are becoming first-class users of the internet. They sign in, call APIs, deploy code, and act on behalf of people and teams. That raises questions the web was never designed to answer: Who is this agent? Who does it work for? What is it allowed to do, for how long, and how do we know?
As an engineer on the Agent Auth and Identity team, you'll help answer those questions. You'll build the systems that let agents and people authenticate, delegate access, and act safely across Vercel and the services our customers connect to. This is foundational work: identity and authorization sit underneath everything we ship, and getting them right for agents will shape how modern software gets built.
The scope is intentionally broad. You might spend one quarter designing how credentials are issued and scoped for autonomous agents, and the next building the developer-facing APIs and SDKs that make secure auth feel effortless. You'll own systems end-to-end, from design through long-term operation in production.
We're looking for engineers who care deeply about security and developer experience in equal measure, enjoy working on problems without established playbooks, and want to define how trust works in an agentic world. This is a hybrid role based in San Francisco, in the office on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday.
What you'll do:
Design, build, and operate the identity, authentication, and authorization systems that power Vercel and our Customers for both people and agents.
Shape how agents prove who they are, act on behalf of users and teams, and receive scoped, time-bound, auditable access.
Build secure, scalable APIs, services, and SDKs that make auth simple for developers and their agents to adopt.
Work with modern and emerging standards (such as OAuth 2.x, OIDC, and agent-focused protocols) and help influence where they go next.
Lead projects end-to-end: identify opportunities, set technical direction, and deliver improvements in security, reliability, and developer experience.
Participate in the on-call rotation, taking responsibility for the reliability of critical systems.
What you need:
3+ years of experience designing, building, and operating backend systems in production at scale.
Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, or a comparable backend language and the willingness to work primarily in TypeScript.
Solid understanding of authentication and authorization concepts, such as sessions, tokens, OAuth/OIDC flows, permission models, and secrets management.
A security-minded approach to engineering: you think about threat models, least privilege, and failure modes as part of design, not as an afterthought.
Benefits & Compensation:
Competitive compensation package, including equity.
Inclusive Healthcare Package.
Learn and Grow: we provide mentorship and send you to events that help you build your network and skills.
Flexible Time Off.
We will provide you the gear you need to do your role, and a WFH budget for you to outfit your space as needed.
The base pay range for this role is $196,000 – $294,000. Actual salary will be based on job-related skills, experience, and location. The total compensation package may include benefits, equity-based compensation, and eligibility for a company bonus or variable pay program depending on the role.
Vercel Connect helps developers give agents and AI-built apps secure access to the data, tools, and events they need—without wrestling with OAuth, credentials, and integration complexity. We’re currently building two things: 1) a platform for managing agent identity, access and permissions and 2) a set of rich connectors for the 1000s of systems (like Linear, Slack, GitHub, Google, etc.) that agents will need to talk to.
We’re solving core problems like agent identity and delegated access, tool approval and standards around making agents aware of changes on 3rd party platforms.
As a senior engineer on this team you'll not only own our APIs, token infrastructure, authorization, SDKs, and more, but work with external companies to make it easier for developers to build agents that integrate with their products. You’ll need to balance both high uptime and fast performance with flexibility to allow for seamless connection to many systems that weren’t designed with agents in mind. If you’re looking for a role that will put you at the center of how agent identity and credentials work, this is it! This is a hybrid role based in San Francisco, in the office on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday.
What You Will Do:
Ship provider integrations end to end — auth flows, token exchange, app registration, and the configuration UI — from generic API-key and OAuth presets through bespoke cases like Snowflake Partner Connect, Slack manager apps, and Microsoft Entra.
Own and improve our infrastructure (uptime, performance, secure storage of credentials and keys) and developer experience for Connect
Work with industry leaders within and outside of Vercel to propose and implement new authentication and authorization protocols for AI era
Build and harden event forwarding — signature verification inbound, project-scoped identity outbound, delivered to the right deployment and environment.
Make Connect the obvious way to give an agent a credential, extending the SDKs , consent-redirect flow, and framework adapters.
Reduce the cost of the next hundred integrations, so most new providers become configuration rather than code.
About You:
6+ years building and operating production backend or full-stack systems, with a track record of owning a service or platform surface rather than a feature.
You deeply understand your users problems and work in a focused manner to address them, leveling up the product you’re working on over time.
Deep, practical understanding of OAuth 2.0/2.1, OIDC, and JWTs — not just wiring up a client library, but reasoning about authorization codes, PKCE, refresh semantics, audience and scope restriction, token exchange, and what each of those actually protects against.
A security instinct for integration code specifically — SSRF and DNS rebinding, confused-deputy and mix-up attacks, redirect-URI validation, webhook signature verification, tenant isolation. You've either found these bugs or fixed them.
Strong TypeScript, and comfort developing backend and frontend components.
Experience integrating with many third-party APIs, an appetite for the reality of it — undocumented behavior, non-compliant OAuth, inconsistent errors — and the judgment to absorb that mess behind a clean abstractions
Compensation & Benefits:
Competitive compensation package, including equity.
Inclusive Healthcare Package.
Learn and Grow - we provide mentorship and send you to events that help you build your network and skills.
Flexible Time Off.

About Improvado
Improvado is a marketing data and AI analytics platform for enterprise brands and agencies. We connect 500+ marketing and sales data sources, normalize them through a governed data model, and put an AI agent on top so marketing teams can ask questions of their own data without going through BI or IT.
What we sell:
extraction and 500+ connectors; data transformation (SQL and dbt-compatible); Marketing Data Governance — taxonomy, naming, data-quality rules; warehouse and storage; dashboards; AI agent and MCP access to live marketing data; DECS, data engineering as a service on a 2 to 4 week SLA.
Who buys it:
Economic buyers:
CMO, VP Marketing, VP Demand Gen, agency COO and ops leadership
Technical evaluators:
VP or Director of Marketing Analytics, marketing analysts, data engineering, sometimes IT and security
Segments:
enterprise brands, mid-market, agencies
Verticals:
pharma and healthcare, financial services, retail and eCommerce, gaming, agencies
Why this role, now
Our messaging is not aligned.
Positioning, web, sales pitch, product and content each carry a different version of what Improvado is. The market categorizes us as "marketing ETL" while we position as an AI marketing analytics platform. That gap costs us deal quality and price.
The category is crowded and moving fast.
Battlecards exist but decay, and nobody owns keeping them true.
Attribution, incrementality and causal measurement is where deals are won and lost
— and it is the hardest thing to argue credibly without hand-waving.
Analyst firms are a silent blocker.
When an enterprise buyer asks Gartner or Forrester about Improvado, there is no briefed narrative waiting for them.
You would not start from a blank page. We already have a positioning registry, roughly 11 documented buyer personas, a pain-point and value-prop library, competitor intel reports and about 10 battlecards. They are inconsistent and under-used. Your first job is to make one version true and make people use it.
What you'll own
Positioning and messaging.
Core positioning, category framing and message hierarchy across ICPs and personas. ICP and persona documentation that is used, not filed. The messaging layer of new product and feature launches, including the internal rollout that makes the field able to sell it.
Competitive intelligence and win/loss.
A structured win/loss interview program with quarterly readouts. Living battlecards. Monitoring competitor positioning, pricing and product moves, and driving our counter-positioning.
Sales enablement.
The core pitch narrative, demo storyline and objection-handling framework. The messaging components of new-rep onboarding. A standing weekly cadence with Sales leadership — not quarterly check-ins. Direct support on competitive and enterprise deals: RFPs, security and technical evaluations, displacement plays.
Market and analyst relations.
The Improvado narrative for Gartner, Forrester and category influencers, so that a buyer's analyst call becomes an accelerator rather than a blocker. Feeding structured market and buyer insight back into product prioritization.
What we're looking for
4 to 8 years in product marketing, or an equivalent blend of product marketing with marketing analytics, marketing or data ops, sales engineering, analytics consulting, or product management on a data product.
Category fluency in marketing data and measurement: attribution models, incrementality testing, MMM, data governance and taxonomy, warehouses and ETL/ELT — including where each is honestly weak.
B2B SaaS sold to marketing or data buyers. Marketing analytics, martech, measurement, CDP, BI and data-infrastructure vendors are the reference profile.
Proof you have shipped, not just documented: positioning that changed the website and the pitch, battlecards reps actually opened, a win/loss program that survived past its second quarter.
Writing that survives contact with a skeptical technical buyer — claim and evidence, not adjective stacking.
Comfort operating close to Sales: weekly cadence, deal reviews, live calls, direct feedback.
Nice to have:
hands-on SQL, dbt or BI, enough to validate a claim yourself. Experience marketing AI capabilities without hype. Analyst-relations experience. Agency-side or enterprise-brand background. Vertical depth in pharma and healthcare, financial services, retail and eCommerce, or gaming.
Not a fit if:
your product marketing has been mostly launch logistics and content calendars; you need a fully staffed team and a finished brand system to be effective; you are uncomfortable being told in a deal review that your messaging did not work.
How we measure success
Win rate in competitive deals against our top 3 named competitors, baseline set in month 1.
Stage-to-stage conversion on open opportunities, particularly discovery to demo to proposal.
Time-to-first-deal for new reps.
Field adoption of enablement assets — measured, not assumed.
Win/loss program running on cadence, with themes that visibly change product and GTM decisions.
Message consistency: a quarterly audit across web, deck, product UI and content.
What We Offer
Remote-first environment
Strong product/market fit: marketing data product for US-based enterprises
20 working days of PTO per year
US holidays and additional days off
Professional development reimbursement
Location: (Multiple States), Germany

ABOUT MORPHO
Morpho is a leading Decentralized Finance (DeFi) lending protocol backed by a16z crypto, Paradigm, Ribbit Capital, Apollo, Vaneck, Coinbase Ventures, Variant and 50 others to build an open credit network giving anyone, anywhere, access to the best possible terms. Morpho is experiencing exponential adoption, with over billion in deposits on the network and used by institutional clients including Bitwise, Galaxy, and Anchorage Digital and the largest crypto exchanges, such as Coinbase, Binance, and Kraken. Now, Morpho is scaling its team of contributors to establish itself as the open credit network, not just of DeFi, but of the world.
WHY MORPHO EXISTS
Everyone has the potential to build something great for the world. But fulfilling that ambition almost always requires more: people willing to trust you with their capital. Yet access to capital still depends on where you live, who you know, and which institutions are willing to trust you. Even when capital is available, it sits fragmented across disconnected networks and hidden behind intermediaries. The result is a system that fails most of the people it should serve. Borrowers overpay. Lenders earn less than they should. Many are shut out entirely, not because they are unworthy of credit, but because today's infrastructure was never built to connect them. Morpho exists to solve this. Full article here https://morpho.org/blog/why-morpho-exists/.
LOCATION
Hybrid, New York or US Remote (ET timezone).
ROLE
Morpho's story is still told mostly inside crypto. This role owns the communications function end to end and makes Morpho a recognised voice across fintech, traditional finance, investors, and financial media. It is a senior individual contributor role, not a people-management role: you set the direction and execute it yourself, using existing colleagues, agencies, and AI as leverage.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own Morpho's communications strategy, priorities, narratives, and standards across channels, so every announcement ladders up to business objectives rather than reacting to the news cycle.
- Build Morpho's recognition beyond crypto through thought leadership, strategic writing, and media relationships across fintech, traditional finance, and the financial press.
- Shape communications with partners, financial institutions, and investors to advance GTM priorities and strengthen strategic relationships.
- Lead competitive positioning and communications around public criticism, regulatory and policy issues, and reputational crises, working closely with leadership and legal.
- Decide what Morpho says, to whom, and when: read the room, anticipate how messages will land, and advise the CEO and leadership on sensitive calls.
- Deliver high-impact communications initiatives hands-on, using existing team capabilities, external agencies, and AI to multiply your output without a large team.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
FIRST 30 DAYS
You understand Morpho's business, priorities, competitive landscape, and audiences, and have working relationships with leadership, GTM, legal, policy, and marketing. You have assessed current communications, named the biggest narrative gaps and reputational risks, and set initial priorities.
FIRST 3 MONTHS
A coherent communications strategy is in place with defined narratives, priority audiences, and an actionable plan. Proactive initiatives aimed at fintech, traditional finance, institutional, and investor audiences are live, internal stakeholders and agencies are aligned on consistent messaging, and the quality of strategic writing has visibly risen.
FIRST 6 MONTHS
Morpho has measurable visibility and coverage among financial audiences beyond crypto. The CEO and marketing leadership seek you out on complex or sensitive calls, you lead crisis and reputational situations with minimal oversight, and competitive, regulatory, investor, and partner communications are established capabilities.
MUST HAVE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- 7+ years experience in communications and/or a clear track record owning a communications function (strategy, PR, executive, investor, and crisis communications) at a scaled fintech, financial services company, or high-growth technology company
- Exceptional writer and storyteller who turns complex ideas into clear, persuasive narratives tailored to different audiences
- Regulatory and crisis communications experience: navigating sensitive regulatory issues, public criticism, or reputational risk
- Strong business and financial acumen, able to understand complex business models and translate them into effective communications
- Understands what makes a story newsworthy and how to build credibility with audiences outside your existing circles
- Skilled at using AI to multiply personal capacity and execution speed without compromising judgment or quality
- Strong ownership and autonomy: identifies opportunities and risks and acts on them without being told
- Comfort operating in fast-changing, ambiguous contexts across time zones and shifting priorities
- Clear and crisp async communication
- Low ego: collaborative, open to feedback, and willing to roll up your sleeves regardless of seniority
PERKS & BENEFITS

An overview of this role
As a Staff Product Manager on the Tenant Scale area within Infrastructure Platforms, you’ll set product direction for how GitLab supports large, complex customers as they grow across departments, projects, and regions. This role focuses on the product choices needed to make tenant data more portable, scalable, and ready for a unified deployment model across GitLab.com, Dedicated, and, over time, Self-Managed. You’ll work on problems that sit at the intersection of product strategy, infrastructure, and customer needs, including how we build a platform to horizontally scale our SaaS architecture, how to enable tenant movement between environments, how isolation and regional requirements are handled, and what needs to be in place to support a more cellular architecture.
At the Staff level, your scope extends beyond a single group. Your direction will inform the broader Infrastructure Platforms direction, you’ll make the investment case for unified deployment capabilities, and you’ll be a recognized authority, inside and outside GitLab, on multi-tenant and cellular SaaS architecture. In your first year, you’ll partner closely with engineering and product peers to define requirements, drive alignment, and move this work from concept into a deployment model teams can build on, while coaching fellow product managers as they pick up work from the shared pool.
What you’ll do
Drive
product strategy and direction for tenant scale and unified deployment capabilities across GitLab.com, Dedicated, and future deployment models, informing the broader Infrastructure Platforms direction and moving this work from concept into a deployment model teams can build on in your first year.
Set
quarterly and annual plans for tenant portability and platform unification, breaking large epics into issues and minimal valuable changes (MVCs) and practicing iteration across multiple groups.
Define
requirements for our unified deployment platform, including the capabilities needed before tenants can be hosted in a unified deployment unit.
Partner
closely with engineering counterparts and highly technical teams to turn infrastructure constraints and platform needs into clear product direction.
Collaborate
with product peers across the platforms organization, including teams working on GitLab.com and adjacent infrastructure areas, and manage with influence to align work that spans more than one group.
Engage
with internal and external customers to understand needs related to isolation, regional deployment, compliance, and operational readiness, using qualitative interviews to find patterns and sharpen problem statements.
Build
business cases for investment in tenant scale and unified deployment, including build, buy, and partner options, the cost of isolation, regionality, and compliance, and the expected benefits.
Facilitate
tradeoff discussions around scalability, tenant encapsulation, deployment consistency, and platform unification, and escalate cleanly to the right level of leadership when decisions or progress are blocked.
Translate
complex technical concepts into product plans, priorities, and documentation that align distributed teams on delivery milestones for tenant portability and platform unification, using error budgets and other performance indicators to inform direction.
Represent
GitLab as a trusted voice on cellular architecture and tenant scale in customer calls, events, and other external forums.
Coach
fellow product managers on direction updates, customer validation, and GitLab’s architecture and tech stack, and support a collaborative team model where product managers share ownership across a common pool of work and step into the areas where they can have the most impact.
What you’ll bring
Experience
managing product work in technical domains such as infrastructure, scalability, platform architecture, software delivery, or cloud services, with results delivered across a range of product areas rather than a single one.
Ability
to work effectively with deeply technical engineering teams and build credibility in discussions about system design, deployment models, and platform constraints.
Knowledge
of how SaaS or platform-based systems scale, including concepts such as multitenancy, horizontal scalability, autoscaling, workload isolation, and production readiness, and the ability to build a deep understanding of GitLab’s architecture and tech stack and coach others on it.
Comfort
working with customers or internal stakeholders on complex requirements, including operational, compliance, or regional deployment needs.
Skill
in turning ambiguous technical problems into clear product strategy, quarterly and annual plans, priorities, and actionable work.
Expertise
in qualitative customer interviewing and product validation, with the ability to teach those techniques to others.
Experience
building business cases, including weighing build, buy, and partner options and forecasting benefits against the competitive landscape.
Experience
collaborating across product, engineering, user experience, and other cross-functional partners in a distributed environment, using iteration and influence to raise the performance of peers beyond your own group.
Strength
in clear written and verbal communication, especially when explaining complex infrastructure topics to different audiences, with excellent presentation skills at every level of the company.
Recognition
as a thought leader in a relevant domain, internally and externally, for example through speaking, writing, or representing your company at customer events and conferences.
Openness
to candidates who bring transferable experience from engineering, technical support, or adjacent product roles relevant to large-scale platforms.
About the team
The team sits within Infrastructure Platforms and works on foundational platform capabilities. It partners closely with engineering, adjacent product managers, and internal customers across regions, with a strong emphasis on GitLab’s asynchronous working style and long-term platform thinking. Product managers on the team share ownership of a common pool of work; at the Staff level, you’ll help guide how that work is prioritized and mentor teammates as they take it on.
