Pre-Doctoral Program – Global Talent Common Application (2026/27)

Responsibilities: — Full-time, in-person position in Zurich with 70% research support and 30% on-the-job learning — Conduct literature reviews, data analysis, project management, and writing — Receive hands-on mentoring and join a community of pre-doctoral researchers — Serve as a strong stepping stone to a PhD in economics Requirements: — Master's or bachelor's degree in economics or a quantitative social science obtained within the last 5 years, with strong grades and strong math skills — Proficiency in Stata, R, or Python — Fluent English — 1–3 recommendation letters from individuals familiar with your research — Eligible backgrounds include individuals who grew up in low- or lower-middle-income countries, first-generation university students from upper-middle-income countries, or those with refugee/asylum backgrounds — Advantageous: knowledge of causal inference methods, research assistant experience, or completion of MITx MicroMasters courses Conditions: — Full-time, in-person work in Zurich — No prior Swiss work permit required — Application deadline: 15 November 2026 — Recommendation letters due by 30 November 2026 — Start date between March and September 2027 — All application documents (2-page CV, transcripts) must be submitted together
