Strategy & Business Operations Manager, Wolt Drive

Location: Helsinki, Finland About Wolt At Wolt, we create technology that brings joy, simplicity and earnings to the neighborhoods of the world. In 2014 we started with delivery of restaurant food. Now we’re building the delivery of (almost) everything and you’ll find us in over 500 cities in 30 countries around the world. In 2022 we joined forces with DoorDash and together we keep on dreaming big and expanding across the globe. Working at Wolt isn’t always easy, but it’s definitely exciting. Here you’ll learn more, build more, and ship more than in most other companies. You’ll be challenged a lot, but also have a lot of fun on the way. So, if you’re a self-starter with drive and entrepreneurial spirit, this could be the ride of your life. About the role Wolt is on a growth journey as part of the DoorDash family, together with Deliveroo. Drive is our delivery-as-a-service business: we let merchants offer fast, reliable delivery in their own channels (their webshop, app or ordering system), powered by the Wolt and Deliveroo courier networks. We're now bringing Drive across Wolt and Deliveroo countries together into one EMEA business , with one team and a clear ambition: grow fast and build a business that stands on its own feet. A growing share of that scaling comes from outside restaurants: grocers, retailers, pharmacies and other eComm players who want on-demand and same-day delivery for their own customers. Their needs can be very different from restaurants: bigger baskets, scheduled and batched deliveries, larger and heavier items, longer distances and more complex integrations. This brings us to you, our next Manager, Strategy & Operations for Grocery & Retail Drive. You'll own this segment across EMEA, from strategy and planning to pricing, product requirements and performance. You'll work hand in hand with our regional commercial teams, who own the partner relationships, and with Product, Logistics, Finance and our Marketplace grocery & retail teams. You'll join the Drive EMEA Strategy & Operations team and report to the Director of Strategy & Operations, Drive EMEA. What you'll be doing Own the Grocery & Retail strategy and annual plan for Drive EMEA: where we play, which partners we go after, and the growth and profitability we commit to. Set the commercial framework for the segment, including pricing guidelines, deal economics and investment cases for our largest partnerships, together with the regional commercial leads. Act as the voice of grocery and retail partners towards Product and Logistics, turning commercial needs such as scheduled delivery or large and heavy items into sized, prioritized requirements. Run performance management for the segment: track growth, unit economics and service levels for our biggest partners, spot what's off and drive the fix with the teams involved. Shape how Drive works with our Marketplace grocery & retail teams , so partners get one joined-up offer from us. Turn wins into playbooks that country teams can reuse, from the first pitch to launch and scale-up. Our humble expectations 5+ years of experience in strategy & operations, business development, commercial roles or management consulting, with a track record of owning outcomes, not just recommendations. Strong commercial and analytical skills: you can build a deal P&L or a segment plan from scratch, and defend it in front of a partner's leadership or our own. Proven ability to get things done across a matrix organization without direct authority, working with regional teams, Product, Logistics and Finance. You use AI tools (e.g. Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini) in your daily work, for example in analysis, planning and ways of working, and look for new ways to apply them to elevate you - whilst maintaining strong judgement that comes from personal understanding complex systems Structured thinking and clear, concise communication in English, both written and spoken. Willingness to travel occasionally across our EMEA markets. Seen as a strong advantage: Background in retail, grocery, e-commerce, logistics or on-demand delivery, either in-house or advising companies in these sectors. Experience with B2B platform or delivery-as-a-service businesses. Why you'll love it 🚀 Global and growing fast: Be part of a fast-moving business at the moment it's being built, across two of Europe's best-known delivery brands 🛒 A segment to own: Work with some of the biggest grocery and retail brands in Europe, and see what you write end up on the product roadmap 🤩 Ride of a lifetime: Accelerate your career with direct access to DoorDash's global Drive experience and room to grow as the segment scales 💪 Instant impact: Take ownership and make a difference 💙 Big hearts and small egos: Surround yourself with smart, friendly people Next steps If you are excited about working in a high-growth environment, taking ownership, and being part of an extremely ambitious team, then click below to apply, make sure to add your CV in English and get the conversation going!
