Backend Product Software Engineer

Responsibilities: — Independently identify and deliver software solutions through milestones focused on specific products or multi-component systems. — Write code alongside junior engineers, providing hands-on technical leadership and understanding root causes. — Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and analysts to understand user needs and develop suitable products. — Develop and execute short and long-term roadmaps balancing business impact, user experience, and technical excellence. — Foster positive team and company culture through mentorship, participation in interviews, and engagement in initiatives. — Establish and nurture relationships with other engineering teams and collaborate effectively across Dropbox. — Occasionally participate in on-call work to address bugs, outages, or operational issues to maintain stable, high-quality customer experience. Requirements: — 5+ years of software engineering or related industry experience. — BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics), or equivalent technical experience. — Proven track record in delivering software solutions through milestones spanning specific product focus or multi-component systems. — Experience developing and shipping large-scale web applications with a user-centric mindset. — Proficiency in building user-facing software and supporting systems and libraries for web and/or desktop platforms. Preferred Qualifications: — Contributions to open source projects or technical communities. — Experience with full-stack development technologies including MySQL, Python, Go, Java, and Rust.
