About the Role Anthropic is building the Forward Deployed Engineering team to help organizations adopt Claude AI in transformative, safe, and lasting ways. The Technical Deployment Leads (TDLs) and Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) embed with strategic customers to ship production AI applications solving real business problems. TDLs own engagement end to end, from statement of work (SOW) through production deployment. This Manager role in EMEA leads a team of TDLs embedded with strategic customers, owning engagement portfolio health, delivery quality, and defining customer and use case priorities. The role influences product direction and establishes Anthropic as a trusted AI transformation partner. It is based in London with a hybrid working model. Responsibilities: — Hire, develop, and retain a team of TDLs across EMEA. — Set high standards for delivery judgment, technical fluency, and customer presence; run the interview loop. — Manage TDLs directly with regular 1:1s, feedback, and growth plans. — Build a bench to run engagements independently. — Define delivery strategy by company types, use cases, markets, and industries. — Hold TDLs accountable for account strategies and exit gates. — Own portfolio health, track engagement status, and intervene early. — Run engagement quality reviews. — Own customer outcomes and maintain executive relationships. — Make staffing decisions and coordinate with FDE managers. — Lead the most complex engagements personally. — Set delivery excellence standards including SOW quality and MVP scoping. — Ensure defensible impact stories for engagements. — Integrate regulatory requirements into delivery plans. — Codify reusable solution patterns and technical playbooks. — Adapt global playbooks to EMEA markets. — Partner with Sales and Marketing on go-to-market materials and positioning. — Run team operating rhythm including reviews and knowledge sharing. — Set team goals tied to customer outcomes. — Surface delivery lessons and emerging use cases to Product and Research. — Uphold Anthropic's values and culture. — Travel across EMEA (25–50%) and occasionally to the US. Requirements: — 8+ years leading enterprise AI/ML delivery with at least 3 years managing people responsible for delivery outcomes. — Experience building and leading technical delivery teams in enterprise environments across multiple EMEA markets. — Delivered AI/ML or LLM-based agentic solutions into production. — Understanding of solution patterns, integration, and real environment challenges. — Depth in at least one industry such as financial services or healthcare. — Knowledge of security, compliance, and regulatory review impacting deployments. — Familiarity with EMEA enterprise landscape, procurement, and regulatory effects. — Ability to navigate architecture discussions and evaluate technical trade-offs. — Experience with value-based scoping including TCO/ROI and impact measurement. — Ability to thrive in ambiguity and bring structure. — Experience building teams or functions from early stages. — Executive presence and strong communication skills. — Ability to translate technical complexity for diverse audiences. — Working proficiency in a second European language (German or French) is a plus.
