ABOUT DOCKER
Docker has been one of the most loved brands in developer tooling, trusted by more than 20 million monthly users and over 20 billion container image pulls. From solo founders to the world's largest companies, developers rely on Docker to build, share, and run their applications across our suite of products including Docker Desktop, Docker Hub, and Docker Scout.
We are a globally distributed, remote-first team building the tools that define how software gets built and delivered. As AI agents redefine software development, Docker is at the center of that shift, providing the sandboxed environments, verified images, and secure infrastructure that make autonomous workflows trustworthy by default.
_______________________________________________________________________
THE ROLE
Docker is seeking a Senior Principal Engineer to serve as the technical visionary and architect for how software gets built, verified, and trusted.
Every day, millions of developers pull images, install dependencies, and ship builds to production. Each of those steps is a place where something can go wrong, or be made to go wrong. Compromised base images, malicious packages, tampered build steps, unsigned artifacts moving through pipelines nobody is watching. The industry calls this the software supply chain, and it has become one of the most consequential unsolved problems in software engineering.
This role sits in Docker and Ecosystems, the group that owns Docker’s most well known products and our emerging content and SDLC business. You will own the technical strategy for secure software delivery across all of it, defining what verifiable, tamper-resistant software delivery looks like at Docker's scale, then driving the architecture that makes it real for every developer and every enterprise customer using our products.
You will set multi-year technical direction, make architectural decisions that shape Docker's product portfolio, and work directly with the SVP of Engineering and executive team on strategy. You will not manage people. You will change what the industry considers table stakes.
_______________________________________________________________________
WHAT YOU'LL DO
TECHNICAL VISION AND STRATEGY
- Lead multi-year technical vision for build security and supply chain across Docker Desktop, Hub, Hardened Images, Verified Publishing, and monetization platforms.
- Define and sequence "trusted by default" architecture for 20M developers.
- Partner with the SVP of Engineering to convert commercial strategy into multi-year technical roadmaps.
- Establish company-wide architectural principles and security standards.
- Identify high-leverage platform investments that enhance security across all Docker products.
- Proactively position architecture ahead of evolving supply chain threats and regulatory demands.
BUILD SECURITY ARCHITECTURE
Architect systems to detect and prevent build-process threats like compromised dependencies, malicious steps, tampered artifacts, and untrusted images.
- Design provenance and attestation infrastructure ensuring Docker artifacts carry verifiable build history.
- Define artifact signing, verification, and policy enforcement across local workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
- Architect SBOM generation, dependency analysis, and vulnerability intelligence for complete software visibility.
- Align with and help shape emerging supply chain security standards.
- Ensure security controls remain fast and unobtrusive so developers keep them enabled.
SDLC AND DEVELOPER WORKFLOW INTEGRATION
- Architect how Docker's security capabilities integrate across the full software development lifecycle, from local development through CI/CD to production deployment
- Design the interfaces and contracts that let Docker's tooling embed into the pipelines, registries, and platforms customers already run, rather than asking them to rebuild around us
- Define the developer experience for security tooling, where the secure path is the fast path and the default path
- Architect policy and enforcement models that satisfy enterprise security and compliance requirements without fragmenting the developer workflow
- Drive convergence of security capabilities across Docker products, replacing product-specific implementations with shared platform primitives
TECHNICAL EXCELLENCE AND INFLUENCE
- Work with leaders across engineering to drive strategy and execution
- Mentor and develop Staff and Principal engineers, raising the technical bar across the organization
- Represent Docker's security architecture externally through blog posts, conference talks, standards bodies, and technical community engagement
- Participate in executive-level discussions, providing architectural perspective on business decisions
- Take part in on-call rotation for your team, respond to incidents, debug production issues, and drive continuous improvement of system reliability
_______________________________________________________________________
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
DOMAIN EXPERTISE
- 12+ years of software engineering experience specializing in build security, software supply chain security, or SDLC tooling
- Deep understanding of build process threat models across dependencies, environments, artifacts, and pipelines, along with effective mitigations
- Architectural experience in artifact signing, attestations, SBOMs, dependency security, CI/CD security, base image trust, or vulnerability intelligence
- Practical knowledge of supply chain security frameworks and standards
- Expertise in API design, service architecture, and scalable system integration
- Proven record delivering large-scale distributed systems for millions of users and enterprise customers
- Experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and modern infrastructure

- Experience partnering with VPs and executives to define and execute technical strategy
- Proven ability to influence technical direction and build consensus without direct authority
- Strong communication skills for presenting to executives and driving organization-wide alignment
- Experience mentoring senior engineers and developing technical leaders
ENTERPRISE CONTEXT
- Experience building products that serve enterprise customers with complex security and compliance requirements
- Knowledge of enterprise security requirements and compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001, and their architectural implications
- Understanding of how enterprise security teams evaluate, procure, and operate tooling
PREFERRED
- Scale experience at a security, developer tools, or infrastructure software company
- Experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes) or developer platforms
- Experience with complex enterprise billing, contracts, usage pricing, and revenue recognition
- Proven ability to migrate legacy systems without disrupting business operations
- Contributions to open-source security tools or supply chain security standards
- Recognized technical leader via speaking, publishing, or open-source work
- Advanced degree in CS, Engineering, or a related field
_______________________________________________________________________
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
SECURITY POSTURE
- Artifacts produced through Docker carry verifiable provenance by default, not by opt-in configuration
- Build-time threat classes are addressed architecturally rather than through detection after the fact
- Developers keep security controls enabled because the controls are fast and unobtrusive
BUSINESS ENABLEMENT
- Security and governance capabilities directly unblock enterprise revenue
- New product SKUs launch in weeks instead of months through the billing platform
- Usage-based billing supports monetization of new security and AI product lines
PLATFORM LEVERAGE
- Product teams ship enterprise-ready, secure-by-default features in under two weeks rather than months
- Shared security primitives replace fragmented per-product implementations
- Platform systems achieve 99.9%+ uptime for business-critical workflows
ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT
- Recognized across Docker as the definitive technical authority on build and supply chain security
- Multiple Staff and Principal engineers developed who can own major domains
- Docker's voice carries weight in the external supply chain security conversation
Visa sponsorship: Docker considers visa sponsorship on a case-by-case basis based on business needs.

Together you will cover the full customer lifecycle: onboarding, customer due diligence, risk assessment, screening, fraud, transaction monitoring, investigations and offboarding.
You will set the strategy, shape the leadership team and give senior stakeholders a clear view of how well our controls are working. This is a senior role with a clear mandate and real scope: build a financial crime function ready for a much larger, more complex business.
This is a new position based in Dubai or London, reporting directly to the Group Chief Operating Officer
Responsibilities
Set the first-line financial crime strategy and delivery plan. Shape the organisation, capacity and delivery model as the business grows, and track whether investment delivers the intended control and operational improvements.
Build and lead the financial crime leadership team across Operations and Product. Develop managers, set clear accountability, align priorities and resolve delivery dependencies.
Own the effectiveness of first-line controls across your remit. Work with Compliance and entity leadership to identify gaps, agree improvements and show that the changes address the underlying risk.
Oversee operational performance, balancing investigation quality, timely decisions, customer experience and cost. Step in where recurring problems call for a change to the operating model or technology.
et priorities for financial crime technology. Guide build-or-buy decisions using evidence of risk reduction, customer impact, delivery effort and ongoing cost.
Prepare the function for new products and jurisdictions. Define the controls, systems and operational capacity each launch needs, and bring unresolved risks and readiness gaps into launch decisions.
Lead the use of automation and AI where they improve outcomes, with proper testing, human oversight, ongoing evaluation and clear ownership of decisions and performance.
Give senior leaders a clear view of control effectiveness, performance, material issues and the decisions required. Support audits and regulatory reviews, and lead the operational response to material issues with Compliance and local leadership
Requirements
A track record of leading first-line financial crime (fraud, AML, sanctions) at a fintech, neobank or bank operating at scale across several jurisdictions.
Hands-on experience building financial crime controls and products from an early stage, covering deposits, withdrawals and the wider payments lifecycle.
Experience leading leaders: managing managers across operational and product or technical teams, with clear accountability and measurable results.
A strong grasp of operational performance management, including backlogs, SLAs, quality assurance, capacity planning and cost, and of how these trade off against customer experience.
Experience setting financial crime technology priorities and making build-or-buy decisions based on risk reduction, cost and delivery effort.
Sound judgement across AML, sanctions and fraud, including how policy and risk appetite translate into workable first-line controls, and a clear view of where Compliance's and the regulated entities' accountabilities begin.
A practical, well-governed approach to automation and AI in financial crime operations, including model testing, human oversight and performance monitoring.
Experience preparing for new product or market launches, working with Compliance, Product and local leadership to define readiness and surface risk.Confidence presenting to executive leadership and supporting regulatory reviews and audits, with clear, evidence-based reporting on control effectiveness and material issues.

About the role
We are looking for an AI Product & Transformation Lead to build the next generation of AI-enabled ways of working across Legal and Enterprise Risk. Please, note experience within Legal or Risk would be useful, but it is not essential. We are particularly interested in people who combine strong AI product, technical, operational or design instincts with enough domain empathy to build trusted solutions.
This is a hands-on AI role for someone who enjoys turning emerging technology into products and capabilities that people genuinely use. You will lead discovery with lawyers, risk professionals, legal operations and business stakeholders, identify high-value opportunities, and turn them into practical AI solutions.
You will not be working only at the level of strategy. You will build and ship AI products, agents, automations, workflows and playbooks; test what works with end users; learn quickly; and create the conditions for other people across Legal and Enterprise Risk to build as well.
You will be embedded in the Legal and Enterprise Risk organisation and partner closely with Compliance, Technology, Data, Information Security and other enabling functions to scale AI capabilities safely across the business.
What you will do
Build and scale AI products:
- Lead structured discovery with Legal and Enterprise Risk teams to identify high-value AI opportunities, recurring friction, manual work and decision bottlenecks.
- Turn real user problems into clear use cases, lightweight prototypes and scalable solutions.
- Build, configure or product-manage AI-enabled tools, agents, workflow automations, self-service experiences and knowledge systems.
- Take solutions from idea to pilot to adoption, including testing, iteration, documentation and handover.
- Balance speed and experimentation with appropriate controls for confidentiality, privilege, data protection, security and legal risk.
Help others build products:
- Make practical AI-building skills accessible to lawyers, risk professionals and Legal Operations colleagues through hands-on sessions, guides and coaching.
- Establish an AI builder community or similar forum for sharing use cases, prompts, prototypes, lessons and reusable components across Legal and Enterprise Risk.
Apply AI to improve how work gets done:
- Map and redesign workflows across Legal and Enterprise Risk, using AI to improve speed, quality, consistency and capacity.
- Create repeatable processes, templates, playbooks and operating rhythms that reduce unnecessary manual effort.
- Design better ways to capture, organise, retrieve and reuse organisational knowledge through AI-enabled search, summarisation and assistance.
- Identify opportunities to improve intake, triage, matter management, contract workflows, reporting and business self-service.
- Establish simple measures of impact, such as time saved, cycle-time reduction, quality improvements, user satisfaction and adoption.
Build alignment and momentum
- Own a prioritised AI product and use-case pipeline based on user need, value, feasibility, adoption potential and risk.
- Bring stakeholders together around clear problems and decisions rather than abstract technology discussions.
- Communicate progress, learnings and trade-offs in a way that works for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Build strong relationships with Technology, Data, Information Security, Procurement and other partners needed to deliver safely at scale.
- Help Legal and Enterprise Risk leadership make informed choices about AI tools, investment, capability, governance and ways of working.
What we are looking for:
- Experience building AI products, automation, digital capabilities or technology-enabled ways of working in a complex organisation.
- A track record of taking ambiguous problems from discovery through to a practical outcome that people actually use.
- Deep practical experience with generative AI, AI agents, workflow automation, knowledge management, no-code or low-code tools, or similar technologies.
- Strong user-centred instincts: you listen carefully, understand how work is really done and design for adoption rather than theoretical capability.
- Strong judgement about confidentiality, privilege, data protection, security, accuracy and responsible use of AI.
- A coaching mindset and the ability to help others become more confident and capable builders.
- Curiosity, pragmatism and a bias towards learning by doing.

Order Experience
– the area responsible for the user experience from the moment an order is placed: payment and the user’s journey in the app after purchase.
Here, analytics directly affects both the user experience and the business economics: how easy it is to pay for a purchase, how quickly a customer’s issue gets resolved, and how much that resolution costs the company.
You’ll work with the Product, Payments, Billing, and Support teams: together with managers, engineers, support specialists, and the finance team, you’ll identify opportunities for improvement, test hypotheses, and see them through to implementation. To do this, we have a mature internal A/B testing platform, a set of MCP tools and AI agents for analytical tasks, high-quality data in BigQuery and Spark, and transparent data preparation processes built on Airflow and dbt.
This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys proactively proposing changes, taking part in setting priorities, and seeing the results of their work in the product and in business metrics.
Responsibilities
Improving checkout and the post-purchase experience.
Identifying the reasons that prevent users from completing payment, and testing hypotheses that make this journey simpler
Developing AI support.
Working with the team to improve AI Chat: finding scenarios for automation, and assessing the quality of user problem resolution and the impact on the business
Improving the support contact experience.
Researching the user journey from ticket creation to problem resolution, agent performance, and refund decision-making
Increasing operational efficiency.
Forecasting support workload, improving the automatic refund model, and finding opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining service quality
Designing and analyzing A/B tests.
Helping teams choose metrics and experiment designs, interpret results, and automate analysis.
Developing the metrics system.
Making payments, billing, and support metrics clear and useful for decision-making, and investigating changes and anomalies
Influencing team priorities.
Identifying growth opportunities, estimating the potential impact of initiatives, and helping decide where it’s worth investing time
Enabling teams to work with data independently.
Preparing data for AI tools and automating repetitive analysis so that colleagues can answer basic questions on their own
Requirements
Strong SQL and Python skills for data analysis and automation
A solid understanding of mathematical statistics and hands-on experience with A/B testing – from forming a hypothesis to drawing conclusions and making recommendations
Experience applying AI in analytical work: the ability to integrate it into everyday tasks, verify its outputs, and find new opportunities for automation
Independence and an interest in the business: the ability to dig into a problem, propose hypotheses, and connect analysis results to a specific decision
The ability to explain complex topics clearly to colleagues with different backgrounds — from engineers to support, finance, and legal specialists
The ability to manage work for multiple stakeholders: making priorities transparent, agreeing on scope and timelines, and justifiably deprioritizing less important tasks
Preferred
Experience in e-commerce, payments, support, or operations automation
Building your own AI tools and agents for data analysis
We offer
Compensation package: base salary and performance-based bonuses
Office-first: flexible hours with a possibility to work remotely 52 days per year
Care & Wellbeing: health insurance (including dental care) for employees and their children, daily meal allowance, and 100% paid sick leave
Relocation Support: full assistance for a smooth relocation for the employees and their family
AI-first approach: licenses and access to a wide range of AI tools
Team & Growth: collaboration with colleagues across Portugal, Brazil, Latvia and China, with opportunities for promotions, professional trainings, and English & Portuguese courses
Community & Engagement: annual team building activities, knowledge-sharing workshops, and a strong sense of team work

As the only company focused 100% on Java, Azul is building the Java platform for the modern cloud enterprise. We are reimagining how customers use Java, bringing them the tools and insight they need to deliver faster, more performant, more dependable, and less expensive Java services. Come join one of the most influential members of the Java and OpenJDK community and help influence the future of Java.
Falcon is the optimizing just in time (JIT) compiler in Azul Platform Prime. It compiles hot Java bytecode into highly optimized machine code and delivers Java performance that standard JVMs do not reach. Falcon is built on LLVM.
We are looking for a Compiler Performance Engineer to make Falcon generate even faster code. This is not a compiler front end role and not a compiler built from scratch: the compiler exists, runs in production at large enterprises, and your job is to find where the generated code is slower than it should be and fix it in the optimizer and code generator.
You will join a distributed team of compiler experts and work on real workloads with direct, measurable impact on customer performance.
What You Will Do
Analyze performance of Java benchmarks and customer workloads, find gaps in generated code and trace them to their root cause in the compiler
Implement and improve optimizations in Falcon's middle end and back end: inlining, loop optimizations, vectorization, redundancy elimination, speculative optimizations and their interaction with the runtime
Improve code generation for x86_64 and AArch64
Write tests and benchmarks that prove the improvement and protect it from regressions
Contribute changes upstream to LLVM where it makes sense
Minimum Requirements
2+ years of professional experience in compilers, JIT compilers or low level performance engineering
Strong C++ design and coding skills
Solid understanding of compiler optimization theory: SSA, data flow analysis, loop transformations
Ability to read assembly and reason about why one instruction sequence is faster than another
Nice to Have
Experience with LLVM IR and LLVM optimization passes, or with another optimizing compiler such as HotSpot C2, Graal, GCC or V8
Experience with profilers such as perf, VTune or async profiler
Knowledge of x86_64 and/or AArch64 microarchitecture
Experience with Java, Scala or Kotlin, or with JVM internals
MSc or PhD in Computer Science with a compiler or performance focus
What We Offer
Opportunity to make a high impact at a growing, global company
Work alongside top experts worldwide contributing to the Java ecosystem
Referral Program — help us grow with great people
Premium IT equipment — MacBook Pro or hardware of your choice
Competitive paid holidays and sick time
Flexible working hours
Remote first OR Prague / Limassol / Belgrade city center offices OR hybrid - UP TO YOU!
