CloudLinux is transforming the Linux infrastructure market by ensuring security and stability for over 500,000 servers worldwide. Our products - CloudLinux OS and Imunify360 - are the de facto standard in the hosting industry and Enterprise segment.
We are seeking a visionary engineer to lead the evolution of our data platform. In 2025, we are shifting from classic database administration to an Internal Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) model. We need a specialist who doesn’t just "configure backups," but designs resilient distributed systems, writes code to automate infrastructure, and transforms databases into a reliable service for product teams.
If you are tired of endless tickets and want to build platforms capable of processing petabytes of data, this role is for you.
Your Challenges & Responsibilities:
DBaaS Architecture:
Design and implement a self-service platform based on
Terraform
and
Ansible
, enabling the deployment of HA clusters (PostgreSQL and ClickHouse, MongoDB, Redis) in a heterogeneous environment (Bare Metal + OpenNebula + Kubernetes + Public Clouds). You will turn infrastructure into a product.
Scaling ClickHouse:
Manage exponentially growing analytics clusters (12+ clusters, tens of terabytes of data). You will tackle sharding, table engine optimization (ReplicatedMergeTree), and building reliable S3 backup pipelines under high load.
Data Platform & Analytics Support:
Maintain and scale the infrastructure for Apache Airflow and Redash. You will ensure the reliability of ETL pipelines and visualization tools, bridging the gap between raw infrastructure and the data analytics team.
Reliability as Code:
Implement SRE practices in data management. Replace manual incident response with automated self-healing mechanisms. Define and implement SLO/SLI for all databases.
Stack Modernization:
Lead the migration process from legacy solutions to modern cloud patterns. Participate in decision-making regarding the implementation of Kubernetes operators for stateful workloads.
Expertise & Mentorship:
Serve as the technical authority for product teams, helping them optimize data schemas and SQL queries for high-load systems.
Our Tech Stack:
Databases
: PostgreSQL 15+ (Patroni, PgBouncer), ClickHouse (Sharded/Replicated), MongoDB, Redis, Kafka
Data & Analytics:
Apache Airflow, Redash (Infrastructure & Integration).
Infrastructure:
Own 3+DC colocation (OpenNebula, Kubernetes, Bare Metal), AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, DO – Hybrid Cloud.
Automation & IaC:
Terraform, Ansible, Python/Go, GitLab, Jenkins, Gerrit.
Observability
: VictoriaMetrics, Grafana, Loki.
Why CloudLinux?
Culture:
A Remote-first company with an "Employees First" principle. We value results, not hours in the office.
Impact:
Your architectural decisions will determine the stability of services used by thousands of companies around the world.
Growth:
We support professional development and pay for training and conferences.
Requirements
What We Expect From You:
AI-Augmented Engineering:
You don't view AI as a replacement for deep technical fundamentals, but as a high-leverage tool. We actively use AI agents (Claude, Codex, Gemini, etc.) to automate boilerplate, analyze complex logs, and speed up research. We expect you to be open to modern workflows and integrate AI into your day-to-day operations, allowing you to focus your brainpower on the true architectural challenges.
Deep PostgreSQL Expertise (5+ years):
You know MVCC internals, understand locking mechanics, can configure Patroni and PgBouncer "with your eyes closed," and have experience with seamless major version upgrades under load.
ClickHouse Mastery:
Experience operating large clusters, understanding ZooKeeper/ClickHouse Keeper, sharding, replication internals, and the ability to diagnose performance issues at the data-part level.
Engineering Mindset (SRE/DevOps):
You hate doing the same task twice by hand. Experience writing complex Terraform modules and Ansible roles is mandatory. Programming skills in
Python
or
Go
for automation are a huge plus.
Hybrid Environment Experience:
You understand the differences between running DBs on Bare Metal vs. Kubernetes vs. Cloud and know how to optimize TCO and disk subsystem performance (NVMe, Network Storage).
Systems Approach:
You see the big picture - from the network packet to the application business logic. You understand the importance of security (FIPS, Audit logs) and Disaster Recovery.
English:
upper-intermediate or higher - to ensure clear communication of progress within the teams
Nice to Have:
Experience building an Internal Developer Platform (IDP).
Experience operating databases in Kubernetes (CloudNativePG, Altinity Operator).
Experience working in Cloud and Hosting providers on similar services.
Benefits
What's in it for you?
A focus on professional development.
Interesting and challenging projects.
Fully remote work with flexible working hours, which allows you to schedule your day and work from any location worldwide.
Paid 24 days of vacation per year, 10 days of national holidays, and unlimited sick leaves.
Compensation for private medical insurance.
Co-working and gym/sports reimbursement.
Budget for education.
The opportunity to receive a reward for the most innovative idea that the company can patent.

ABOUT DOCKER
Docker has been one of the most loved brands in developer tooling, trusted by more than 20 million monthly users and over 20 billion container image pulls. From solo founders to the world's largest companies, developers rely on Docker to build, share, and run their applications across our suite of products including Docker Desktop, Docker Hub, and Docker Scout.
We are a globally distributed, remote-first team building the tools that define how software gets built and delivered. As AI agents redefine software development, Docker is at the center of that shift, providing the sandboxed environments, verified images, and secure infrastructure that make autonomous workflows trustworthy by default.
_______________________________________________________________________
THE ROLE
We're building AI-native development practices into how this team works at a foundational level. That means infrastructure design needs to account for a new kind of collaborator: AI agents that generate, deploy, and operate software. The Senior Software Engineer, Billing on this team will keep systems running, help define what safe, observable, AI-assisted infrastructure operations look like in practice, and model that standard for the rest of the team.
_______________________________________________________________________
WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON
The Billing Platform Engineering team owns the systems that make Docker's commercial model real. You'll work on problems like:
- How do we design infrastructure that makes AI-generated deployments safe to ship and easy to roll back?
- How do we instrument billing systems so that failures — billing miscalculations, entitlement gaps, payment errors — are detected immediately and unambiguously?
- How do we build infrastructure that scales with usage-based billing workloads without manual intervention?
- How do we make the developer experience on this team faster and more reliable — local environments, CI/CD pipelines, deployment tooling?_______________________________________________________________________
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own and evolve the infrastructure supporting Billing Platform services: compute, storage, networking, CI/CD, and observability
- Design and maintain IaC (Terraform) for billing system infrastructure on AWS; contribute to module patterns and standards for the team
- Build and own observability systems — metrics, logging, alerting — with a focus on billing accuracy and payment reliability
- Implement deployment patterns and runbooks that work well in an AI-agent-assisted development workflow: clear rollback procedures, safe promotion gates, automated validation
- Partner with software engineers on service design — bringing infrastructure constraints and operational requirements into the conversation before code is written
- Identify systemic risks in the team's systems and drive improvements, including work that reaches into adjacent teams or services
- Participate in incident response for billing system issues. This role may require participation in an on-call rotation to provide support outside of standard business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- Mentor engineers on the team; your technical judgment should help raise the bar for how the team builds and operates
_______________________________________________________________________
QUALIFICATIONS
- 6+ years in platform, infrastructure, or SRE roles supporting production SaaS systems at scale
- Strong AWS expertise: ECS or EKS, RDS (Postgres preferred), networking, IAM, cost management — you've operated these systems under real load and real incidents
- Strong Terraform skills; you've built reusable module patterns and can improve the ones a team relies on
- Experience building and owning observability stacks (Datadog, Grafana, or similar) for production services — not just using them
- Strong familiarity with CI/CD systems — Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or equivalent — including pipeline design and developer experience
- Kubernetes at an operational and architectural level
- A track record of identifying systemic risks and driving improvements within your team and adjacent systems
- Security-first mindset: threat modeling, blast radius analysis, least-privilege by default, audit trails as a design requirement
- Strong written English; clear written communication is how you scale your work across the team
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

Operational ownership is part of the job. You’ll join the rotation after onboarding and shadowing, and help improve on-call itself: better alerts, stronger runbooks, less toil, and blameless postmortems aimed at prevention.
WHAT SETS YOU APART
You don't wait for problems to be handed to you — you find them, frame them, and drive the solution. You've operated at a scope where your decisions affected the systems your team owns, and you know how to build alignment and move work forward without direct authority. You've thought seriously about what infrastructure needs to look like when AI agents are generating and shipping code — safe deployment patterns, strong observability, clean rollback — and you want to help define that standard here. Experience with billing, payments, or financial systems infrastructure is a meaningful plus.
_______________________________________________________________________
WHAT TO EXPECT
First 30 days
You will ship code in your first week. We run an agent-first development workflow — infrastructure changes start with a plan, specifications are written before generation, and every change is reviewed before it merges — and onboarding is no exception. You will get hands-on with the infrastructure supporting Billing Platform services early, shadow on-call, and build a clear picture of the system before you start making bigger changes. By the end of 30 days you will have shipped real work and know where the most important problems are.
First 90 days
You will have taken ownership of one or more infrastructure components and delivered an improvement from design to production with measurable impact. You will be an active participant in deployment and reliability discussions, bringing infrastructure constraints and operational requirements into the conversation early — before code is written. You will be a full participant in the on-call rotation and will be contributing to the team's technical direction.
One year outlook
You will be one of the team's go-to engineers on billing infrastructure. You will have driven meaningful improvements to observability, deployment safety, or platform reliability — and your work will be directly visible in the resilience and correctness of systems that handle real financial transactions for millions of Docker users. You will have helped define what AI-agent-assisted infrastructure operations look like done right.

🤖 WHO WE ARE
We’re building Mo — a health companion for everyone.
We’re a small team within Alan, on a mission to redefine the future of care by democratizing access to medical expertise. We are building Mo, an intelligent, empathetic, multimodal LLM-based conversational AI assistant able to prescribe, triage, and proactively follow up on care.
Imagine giving every person in the world instant, 24/7 access to personalised medical expertise - through chat, voice, or video. That’s what we are building 🤖.
We kicked off the project in 2023, and we have launched Mo to all our french members (1M) in Q1 2026, making it the first safe AI health companion live at scale in Europe.
🚀 WHAT KEEPS US UP AT NIGHT
We’re building a medical agent that works — reliably, safely, and at scale.
You’ll work at the intersection of product engineering, ML engineering, and medical expertise. Our mission is to build the most accurate and reliable medical agent in the world, while delivering an outstanding conversational experience. Things we’re working on:
- 💬 Deliver the most memorable chatting experience — You’ll work on making Mo the obvious choice when it comes to asking a health question. It means having a world-class snappy and delightful chatting experience, blazing fast time to answer, and rich content shared.
- 🧱 Integrate Mo with Alan services and our healthcare system — You’ll work on integrating Mo with our other services (digital chat with HP, map of physical location of HPs, tailored prevention programs, …) to help members get from words to actions.
- ➕ Extend our architecture to support the next chapters of Mo — You’ll work on our architecture, and agentic framework, to support Mo’s next needs (get more context, use new skills, be accessible in other countries we operate in)
If you’re excited by the idea of building the future of healthcare, this is the team for you - we're at the start of the journey. If you’re curious, here https://arxiv.org/abs/2411.12808 is a paper we published recently.
🎯 IS IT YOU WE’RE LOOKING FOR?
We’re looking for Product engineers with 3+ years of experience who get excited about building state-of-the-art AI systems and applying them to real-world, high-stakes problems in healthcare.
- You’ll work at the frontier of LLMs, multi-agent architectures, and human-in-the-loop learning — and see your work deployed in production, helping real people.
- You’ll implement new capabilities for Mo, working across engineering, data, and medical expertise
- You'll have deep product ownership over the use cases supported in Mo, making sure we actually help our members get and stay better.
- You’ll have significant influence on system architecture and code quality
- You’ll mentor engineers, contribute to our product & engineering culture, and help build the team (including participating in hiring, shaping our interview loops, etc.).
You would be a good fit in Mo if most of this sounds like you:
- Applied background in software engineering and systems architecture
- Experience with traditional ML, or LLMs, or ML dev ops is a big plus.
- Product-minded: you want your solutions to be used, and impactful
- Self-directed, pragmatic, driven, hard working
- Humble and still willing to grow (no matter your seniority!)
- Collaborative, enthusiastic about teamwork, learning, and teaching
- Fluent in English (no need to speak French!)
- Ex-founders are typically great fit in our team
But above all, we are looking for high potential and curiosity: make sure to show us this when you apply! Everything else is a bonus.
