ABOUT RAMP
Ramp is building the smart infrastructure for finance teams, embedded in the transaction flow of every dollar a business spends. We automate how over $275B in annualized spend flows in and out of 85,000+ companies: authorizing payments, flagging risk, categorizing spend, and closing books.
The problems are high-stakes, data-dense, and unforgiving.
We hire people with high agency and high urgency. We look for slope over intercept. We care less about where you trained and more about what you’ve built. At Ramp, everyone is a builder who owns problems end to end and makes consequential decisions that shape the outcome.
The median Ramp customer saves 7.5% and grows revenue 16% in their first year – far in excess of businesses operating without Ramp. We believe every ambitious company deserves the same.
If you want to build systems that directly shape how companies move and manage billions, Ramp is the place to do it.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Most businesses have no idea if they're overpaying for their software. They renew on autopilot, negotiate without benchmarks, and discover vendor alternatives only after the contract is already signed.
Ramp is uniquely positioned to change that. We see billions of dollars of real-world spend and contract data across thousands of companies, and we're turning it into an intelligence layer that tells businesses exactly what they should be paying, which vendors to consider, and when to act.
As PM for Vendor Intelligence & Marketplace, you'll own the product that powers this: our price benchmarking engine, contract analysis (extracting structure and risk from vendor agreements), and the emerging B2B marketplace that connects Ramp's buyer base to the right vendors at the right price. You'll be one of the first PMs building a true buyer-side intelligence layer inside a financial platform, replacing renewal anxiety and negotiation guesswork with data-driven, AI-powered decisions.
Please note that this role requires in-person presence at our NYC or SF office at least 2 days/week.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Own the strategy and roadmap for price benchmarks and contract intelligence, turning Ramp's aggregated spend and contract dataset into the most accurate price benchmarking product on the market.
- Build the B2B marketplace primitives that let Ramp's customers discover, compare, and engage with the right vendors, and give vendors a channel to reach Ramp's buyer base with transparent, competitive pricing.
- Design "decision moments": surfaces inside Ramp that deliver the right benchmark, contract context, or vendor alternative at exactly the moment a customer is about to sign, renew, or spend.
- Partner with data science to build the extraction, normalization, and modeling pipelines that power price benchmarks, going from raw contract PDFs and spend data to unit-normalized, SKU-level intelligence a customer can act on in a negotiation.
- Define the evaluation methodology, quality bar, and feedback loops for AI-powered contract analysis, ensuring the accuracy and explainability that enterprise customers require.
- Cover the full vendor lifecycle: discovery and intake through price negotiation, contract signing, and renewal, with the right intelligence surfaced at each step.
- Develop deep understanding of how procurement, finance, and legal teams evaluate, select, and renegotiate vendors, and translate that into sharp product bets with clear customer outcomes.
- Drive cross-functional alignment on dependencies and launch readiness: GTM enablement, customer communications, compliance review, and supportability.
WHAT YOU NEED
- BA/BS in a technical or analytical field (Computer Science, Engineering, Analytics, Mathematics, Economics, or related).
- 5+ years of product management experience, ideally with products where data quality and customer trust are the core value proposition.
- Sharp product judgment on data products and marketplaces: you understand flywheel dynamics, network effects, coverage-versus-accuracy tradeoffs, and the cold-start problem.
- AI fluency: hands-on experience building AI features, comfort with LLM-based extraction and retrieval, evaluation methodology, and human-in-the-loop design.
- Strong commercial instincts: you understand how businesses buy software, what levers drive negotiation outcomes, and why price transparency changes behavior.
- Track record building products where trust is earned over time: explainability, auditability, graceful degradation, and clear user controls.
- Comfort working in technical environments (Figma, SQL, Git) and prototyping quickly with modern AI tools (Claude Code, Cursor).
- Clear, direct communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders; ability to make a crisp case for a product bet without a deck full of slides.
NICE-TO-HAVES
- Experience building price benchmarking, market intelligence, or contract analytics products, anywhere from procurement software to B2B SaaS to fintech.
- Marketplace experience: supply/demand matching, seller acquisition, buyer discovery, and the trust primitives that make two-sided systems work.
- Document understanding: OCR, LLM-based extraction, normalizing structured data from unstructured contracts.
- Background in procurement, vendor management, or enterprise SaaS buying and selling, either as a PM or as a practitioner.
- Familiarity with compliance-adjacent domains: vendor due diligence, security reviews, NDAs, audit trails.
- Experience at a high-growth startup taking 0→1 products to scale.

Newton is already a working product with an established architecture. Your role is to ship features across the backend and frontend, build new agent capabilities, and own the engineering quality of what you deliver.

- Hands-on experience with production LLM applications, including agents, tool calling, structured outputs, and quality evaluation.
- Ability to understand product needs, challenge unclear requirements, and work independently within an established architecture.
- Daily use of AI coding agents, with a clear approach to reviewing, testing, and validating their output.
Important: Commercial experience is required; personal projects alone are not sufficient.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with Cloudflare Workers, Durable Objects, or AI Gateway.
- Familiarity with Supabase, Cube.js, or BigQuery.
- Experience building products for games, monetization, or B2B dashboards.

- Build and maintain monitoring, alerting, and observability in Datadog
- Participate in incident response, troubleshooting, and postmortem activities
Security & Cost Optimization
- Support security tooling, vulnerability remediation, and secure platform practices
- Identify and implement cost optimization opportunities without compromising reliability
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Hands-on production experience with Kubernetes (ideally GKE) and basic cluster operations.
- Working experience with Terraform and Helm in PR-based workflows.
- Familiarity with GCP services used in SaaS operations (e.g., Cloud SQL, BigQuery, BigTable, Pub/Sub, Cloud Run, Memorystore).
- Monitoring/alerting and troubleshooting skills (preferably Datadog).
- Strong scripting/automation mindset to reduce manual work and prevent repetitive incidents.
- Reliability awareness: understanding how changes affect availability/latency and how to operate under SLA constraints.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Cloudflare basics (WAF/DNS, edge concepts; Workers/CDN is a plus).
- Experience writing/maintaining runbooks and participating in postmortems.
- Exposure to SOC 2 / PCI-DSS requirements or willingness to learn.
- Experience in high-load consumer products or game dev.

- Ensure platform availability, performance, and reliability in line with SLA/SLO targets
- Design and operate systems capable of handling rapid traffic spikes and high-load scenarios
- Drive capacity planning, autoscaling, bottleneck removal, and resilience improvements
Kubernetes and Infrastructure
- Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform (and Terragrunt where applicable)
- Own Kubernetes operations on GKE, including upgrades, scaling, and operational hardening
- Maintain platform tooling, deployment infrastructure, and operational standards
Observability and Incident Management
- Build and improve observability using Datadog, including monitoring, logging, and APM
- Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and long-term reliability improvements
- Reduce operational noise and improve detection of critical system issues
Security and Delivery
- Operate core security tooling and coordinate remediation efforts across teams
- Improve deployment reliability and developer experience through CI/CD automation and platform guardrails
Cost Optimization
- Own infrastructure cost visibility, optimization, and FinOps initiatives
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering roles
- Proven experience operating production SaaS infrastructure with defined reliability targets and SLA/SLO ownership
- Strong expertise in GCP, Kubernetes (GKE), and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
- Experience with Cloudflare, observability platforms (Datadog or similar), and modern CI/CD practices
- Strong automation and scripting skills with a reliability-first mindset
- Experience designing and operating scalable, high-availability distributed systems
- Familiarity with SOC 2 / PCI-DSS audits and security architecture requirements.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in game dev or similarly bursty high-load consumer products.
- Mature SRE practices: error budgets, on-call maturity, runbooks, proactive incident prevention.
