In-depth knowledge of C++ build systems, specifically CMake, with proven experience optimizing native build and deployment pipelines.
Advanced Linux system administration and networking skills, including shell scripting, package management, performance troubleshooting, firewalls, and VPN configuration.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in globally distributed teams.

Experience with mobile CI/CD automation, including build, tagging, and publication for iOS and Android applications

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for forward-thinking, high-performing AI Engineers who are excited to pioneer the future of AI-driven engineering at Paysend. In this role, you will work hands-on with Claude Code and the Anthropic API to design, harden, and ship agentic systems that write, review, test, and deploy code. This is a high-impact, build-and-own opportunity: you will take cutting-edge AI prototypes and turn them into resilient production infrastructure - directly empowering our global engineering teams, accelerating our product velocity, and helping us solidify Paysend as the definitive end-to-end payment infrastructure for the modern world.
THE ENGINEERING PROBLEM
The problem is not to make an LLM generate code. The problem is to make AI-assisted and agentic software delivery reliable enough to become part of normal engineering work.
These systems operate inside real software delivery workflows. They need to deal with incomplete context, failed execution, incorrect assumptions, external dependencies, changing repository state, and cases where an agent should not continue on its own. This means designing clear execution boundaries, decision points, observability, recovery and escalation paths, not only the agent behaviour itself.
The role includes shaping how these systems work, not only implementing integrations with existing AI tools.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Design end-to-end AI-assisted delivery workflows, including agent responsibilities, execution boundaries, decision points, human intervention, failure handling, recovery, and escalation
Design and refine AI-driven pipelines that automate coding, code review, testing, and deployment tasks
Build and optimise agentic workflows using Claude Code and the Anthropic API, including custom tooling, MCP server integrations, sub-agents, and stateful orchestration logic
Engineer robust prompts, benchmark suites, and automated eval datasets; measure and improve pipeline accuracy, latency, and API costs
Define workflow-specific success criteria and operational evidence, including correctness, reliability, intervention and escalation rates, failure modes, and recovery effectiveness
Integrate core Anthropic capabilities (tool use, structured outputs, prompt caching, batch processing) into internal developer platforms
Handle unglamorous production work: sandboxed execution, strict error handling, retries, observability, guardrails, and edge cases
Own these systems after initial implementation: observe how they behave in real engineering workflows, investigate failures and incorrect behaviour, and improve the system based on operational evidence
Partner with engineers across the org to identify automation opportunities and roll out agentic tools safely with human-in-the-loop review mechanisms
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Strong software engineering background, with experience designing, building, and operating production systems, and strong hands-on experience with Python or TypeScript
Ability to decompose end-to-end engineering workflows, identify decision boundaries, failure modes, dependencies, observability needs, and recovery paths
Direct, hands-on experience with Claude Code—you've used it beyond casual experimentation and understand its strengths, limits, and configuration (CLAUDE.md, sub-agents, hooks)
Experience building with LLM APIs: prompt engineering, tool/function calling, structured outputs, context window optimization, agentic loops, and evaluation
Familiarity with MCP (Model Context Protocol) server integration and custom workflows
Comfort turning prototypes into production systems: CI/CD integration, containerized execution, reliability engineering, and monitoring
Pragmatic judgment about where AI automation helps and where traditional deterministic logic or human oversight is required
NICE TO HAVE
Experience with agent orchestration frameworks or building custom agent harnesses/tooling
Track record shipping internal developer platforms or CLI tooling
Contributions to open-source AI frameworks, developer tools, or MCP servers

ABOUT PEEC AI
Peec AI is the analytics platform for AI search. People increasingly discover products and make buying decisions through ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Google's AI Overviews instead of traditional search, and most brands have no idea where they show up in those answers. Peec gives marketing, SEO, and growth teams the data to see exactly that: how visible their brand is across AI platforms, how they compare to competitors, and where to win.
We are defining this category, and the market is moving with us. Peec is a Series A company backed by 20VC and Singular, that went from $0 to $15M ARR in 18 months, with a 100+ person team across our Berlin HQ and our New York office.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Peec AI is building the data plane for AI visibility: millions of chats, scrapes, citations, sources, model responses, and customer-facing insights running through a fast-moving backend.
This role is for an engineer who wants to own the systems behind that. You will not just add endpoints or close tickets. You will make our scraping, chat-processing, source-ingestion, and analytics infrastructure more reliable, cheaper, faster, and easier for the rest of the team to reason about.
The best fit looks like someone who can debug a provider outage in the morning, design a better queueing model before lunch, ship a TypeScript service change in the afternoon, and write the postmortem or follow-up ticket clearly enough that the next engineer immediately knows what to do.
We are especially interested in people who have built or operated systems with real constraints: rate limits, flaky third-party APIs, queues, webhooks, retries, distributed locks, data migrations, observability gaps, customer pressure, and cost ceilings.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- 5+ years of backend, platform, infrastructure, or distributed systems engineering experience in a production environment.
- Deep hands-on TypeScript experience. We run TypeScript services on Bun, and we care about people who can design clean, reliable backend systems rather than only write application code.
- Strong understanding of queues, workers, retries, rate limits, idempotency, distributed locks, webhooks, and failure handling.
- Experience operating systems under real production pressure: incidents, provider outages, customer escalations, noisy alerts, slow dependencies, and incomplete data.
- Comfort with cloud-native infrastructure. Our stack includes GCP, Kubernetes, Cloud Tasks, Pub/Sub, RabbitMQ, Redis, Postgres, Firestore, ClickHouse, Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
- Ability to debug across layers: application code, logs, metrics, queues, provider APIs, databases, network behaviour, and deployment state.
- Product-minded judgement. You can separate internal detail from customer-safe explanation, and you understand when a “small infra change” has customer, security, or cost implications.
- High ownership and low ego. We want people who take responsibility for ambiguous systems, ask sharp questions, and make the team better through clear thinking and kindness.
- A bias toward durable fixes. You do not stop at “restart the pod” if the real issue is retry amplification, missing backpressure, an unsafe parser assumption, or a provider limit we do not model.
TECH STACK
- Languages: TypeScript, Python
- Runtime/frameworks: Bun, Elysia, Node-compatible services
- Cloud/infrastructure: GCP, Kubernetes, Cloud Tasks, Pub/Sub, Firebase/Firestore, Postgres, ClickHouse, Redis, RabbitMQ
- Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, structured logging
- Product/data domain: LLM chats, AI search, source scraping, citation extraction, provider integrations, customer-facing analytics
- AI/model providers: OpenAI, Anthropic/Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Mode / AI Overview, plus scraping/provider APIs around them
WHAT WE OFFER
- Exciting and challenging work with real impact and ownership at one of Europe’s fastest-growing Series A startups
- Regular team events and off-sites
- Aggressive equity compensation package
- Paid Dinner & Uber home when working late
- The most beautiful office space and work environment in Berlin
