In addition to managing the litigation docket, you will serve as a strategic counselor to all business and corporate functions regarding legal risk and opportunity. The successful candidate will be more than an experienced litigator. They will be a business-minded litigation leader who knows when to fight, when to settle, and when litigation risk should drive changes in the business.
RESPONSIBILITIES

- Select, retain, and manage outside counsel, establishing clear expectations regarding strategy, staffing, budgets, work product, responsiveness, and outcomes, and independently pressure-testing outside counsel’s strategic recommendations throughout the entire litigation life-cycle.
- Exercise rigorous oversight of litigation spending, including reviewing budgets and forecasts, scrutinizing staffing and billing practices, identifying opportunities for alternative fee arrangements, and ensuring that legal spending is proportionate to the Company's exposure and strategic objectives.
- Develop settlement strategies and lead significant settlement negotiations, balancing legal exposure, litigation costs, business considerations, precedent risk, reputational considerations, and operational impacts.

- Partner closely with the People Team regarding employment disputes.
- Manage litigation-related insurance matters, including providing timely notice of claims, coordinating with insurers and brokers, pursuing available coverage, and managing coverage disputes where necessary.

- Establish and continuously improve litigation playbooks, processes, and technology, enabling the Legal team to manage a growing litigation portfolio efficiently and consistently as the Company scales.

- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across cross-functional teams.

THE ADVENTURE AHEAD 🚀
As a Senior Product Engineer II, you bring deep expertise in either backend or frontend engineering alongside strong working competency across the full stack. You own complex features and technical initiatives end to end, working across customer facing applications, services, APIs, and integration boundaries to deliver complete solutions.
Your primary strength may be building cloud native backend systems and event driven architectures, or architecting complex frontend applications and customer experiences. In either case, you understand how the broader system fits together and can confidently work across boundaries when needed.
Beyond your individual technical output, you function as a technical anchor within your squad. You help drive technical direction, mentor peers, coordinate dependencies, and ensure the team can consistently deliver high quality software without creating unnecessary knowledge silos.
THE DAY-TO-DAY ⚒️
- Own complex initiatives end to end Drive multi sprint technical initiatives from architecture through implementation, production deployment, and ongoing evolution.
- Build across the stack Navigate frontend applications, APIs, backend services, data layers, and platform integrations to deliver complete outcomes.
- Set technical direction Bring deep expertise in your primary discipline while shaping architecture decisions and engineering patterns across the broader system.
- Make durable technical decisions Evaluate complex tradeoffs, manage technical risk, and balance immediate delivery with long term scalability and maintainability.
- Anchor the squad Break down complex work, coordinate technical dependencies, unblock others, and help the team maintain delivery momentum.
- Drive engineering excellence Raise the bar for testing, CI/CD, observability, architecture, code quality, and pragmatic technical debt management.
- Partner across functions Work with Product, Design, QA, SRE, platform teams, and engineering groups to translate customer problems into reliable solutions.
- Level up the team Mentor engineers through architecture discussions, design reviews, code reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing.
YOUR SUPERPOWERS⚡️
- Engineering depth and breadth Six or more years of software engineering experience, with deep expertise in either backend or frontend engineering and strong working competency across the broader stack.
- End to end ownership A proven record of owning complex technical initiatives from architecture through production deployment and operation.
- System design expertise Strong understanding of scalable application architecture, APIs, distributed systems, cloud services, and maintainable production software.
- Technical leadership The ability to guide engineers through uncertainty, establish effective architecture patterns, and raise engineering standards.
- Integration fluency Comfort navigating unfamiliar systems and safely changing frontend, backend, and integration boundaries.
- Engineering excellence Strong experience with automated testing, CI/CD, observability, monitoring, and pragmatic technical debt management.
- Collaborative communication The ability to explain tradeoffs, challenge assumptions constructively, and align Engineering, Product, Design, QA, and platform stakeholders.
BONUS POINTS 🌟
- Cloud and event driven systems Cloud native AWS applications using serverless services, asynchronous workflows, distributed systems, or event driven architecture.
- Infrastructure and delivery Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, or production operations.
- Frontend architecture Angular, React, or comparable frameworks, including application architecture, state management, design systems, performance, or accessibility.
- Backend breadth Node.js and TypeScript services or polyglot environments that include Go, Python, PHP, or other backend technologies.
- Production observability Monitoring, tracing, logging, metrics, incident diagnosis, and production operation.
- Technical growth Experience acting as a technical lead or clear progression toward broader Staff level leadership.
OUR STACK 🛠️
Our product teams work primarily with TypeScript across frontend and backend development. Frontend applications include Angular and modern web technologies. Backend and platform systems span Node.js, TypeScript, Go, PHP, Python, AWS, REST APIs, event driven architectures, relational and NoSQL databases, CI/CD, and modern observability tooling.
You do not need deep expertise in every technology we use. We are looking for deep expertise in a primary discipline, strong software engineering fundamentals, and confidence working across frontend, backend, and integration boundaries.

Our work spans original features, technical explainers, weekly Paper Picks, research webinars, the Nebius Science Paper Club, and interviews with leading researchers.
Our goal is to make serious research accessible without flattening its complexity, and to create a meeting point for researchers, engineers, and the wider scientific community.

Host or moderate research webinars, interviews, and other on-camera formats.
Work with researchers to verify technical claims while preserving a clear editorial voice.

Have a degree in computer science, machine learning, mathematics, physics, engineering, computational science, or another relevant technical discipline.
Be comfortable reading papers, inspecting model architectures, comparing results, and discussing technical details directly with researchers.
Have strong visual instincts and be able to explain technical mechanisms through diagrams, infographics, charts, or other multimedia formats.
Write with precision and flair, using LLMs to support your work, not to do the writing for you.

Competitive compensation
Career growth and learning opportunities

Our mission is to develop an all-in-one financial B2B solution that integrates banking functions, accounting, financial management, and invoicing into a seamless, mobile-first platform.
We recently closed a €115 million Series C equity round (around $133 million), bringing our total funding to approximately $346 million. This significant investment follows a $105 million growth funding round from General Catalyst, a long-term backer since 2021 known for supporting companies like Airbnb, HubSpot, KAYAK, and Stripe.
Finom's platform goes beyond traditional banking, offering invoicing and a growing suite of features, including AI-enabled accounting, aiming to simplify financial management for entrepreneurs. We're actively expanding our reach across key EU markets like Germany, France, the Netherlands, Italy, and Spain.
At Finom, we’re not just redefining the entrepreneurial experience — we’re empowering our employees to make a real difference. Your work matters, and your impact extends far beyond product metrics. We nurture innovation and an inspiring work environment where bold ideas thrive, prioritizing thorough research, swift implementation of solutions, and ensuring that every effort we make benefits our users, employees, partners, and our business as a whole.
Maintaining our start-up spirit, we prioritize thorough research, swift implementation of solutions, and ensuring that every effort we make benefits our users, employees, partners, and, of course, our business.
We are looking for a Senior Treasury Manager to build and run Finom's treasury function.
Finom safeguards a significant book of customer funds across its regulated entities. Net interest income on that book is a meaningful revenue line, and it will grow. Today the function is up and running: the money is placed, the investment policy is in place, and a large part of the book sits with an external asset manager. What we are building now is the machinery around it — an evidenced limit framework, look-through into what our managers actually hold, automated investment accounting, and a reconciled NII number we can defend to an auditor and a regulator.
That is the job. You will take part in building it, and you will run it while it is being built.
This is a hands-on role at the intersection of regulation, liquidity, and commercial impact — not a back-office position. It suits someone who has done this before in a regulated environment and wants to do it again without four layers of committee above them.
What you'll own
Liquidity and funding
Daily liquidity positioning and float management across entities and accounts
Intraday funding of payment channels; nostro and correspondent account management
Collateral and minimum-balance obligations across card schemes, T2, and credit providers
Contingency funding — the playbook for the day we need €20m by tomorrow morning
A daily treasury balance sheet — net liquidity and net capital available — that reconciles
Safeguarding and portfolio
Portfolio management of safeguarded client funds: term deposits, MMFs, short-dated debt, held directly and via external managers
Safeguarding adequacy: shortfall detection, top-up execution, same-currency discipline
Instrument eligibility screening under CRR risk-weight, maturity and WAL constraints, and UCITS/MMF rules
Independent, evidenced validation that externally managed allocations sit inside mandate — position-level look-through, daily monitoring of concentration, maturity, WAL and credit quality, breach escalation
NII forecasting, attribution, and reconciled performance reporting; treasury inputs into the financial model and company forecast
Governance and controls
Ownership of the investment policy, limit framework, and eligible-instrument register
Treasury governance: decision pack, agenda, decision log, and delegated-authority register
Pre-deal checks and post-trade evidencing, designed so that the first line executes and the second line challenges
Covenant tracking across credit facilities
Regulator, external audit, and second-line engagement on treasury and safeguarding matters
Systems and data
Selection and implementation of investment accounting and treasury tooling — a Clearwater/Advent-class implementation is already in flight and will be yours
Custodian, asset-manager and bank data feeds; API connectivity where it exists and pragmatic alternatives where it doesn't
Replacing manual spreadsheet processes with something that survives your holiday
Commercial
Bank, custodian, broker and asset-manager relationships: onboarding, commercial terms, mandate setting, service review
Challenging our managers on allocation, transparency and fees — and changing them if the answers are weak
What good looks like in the first 12 months
Investment policy and limit framework live, with treasury governance running on a documented decision log
Daily, evidenced mandate compliance across the full book — we can answer "are we inside the boundaries?" in minutes, not weeks
Investment accounting platform implemented; monthly close on the portfolio no longer manual
An NII number that is reconciled, attributed, and forecastable
A contingency liquidity playbook that has been tested rather than written
Who you are
5+ years in treasury, ALM, fixed income, or portfolio management at a regulated financial institution, EMI/PI, or asset manager
Direct experience with client money or safeguarding under PSD2 / EMD — core to this role, not adjacent to it
Experience building or materially rebuilding a treasury function, not only operating inside an established one
Strong command of bond math, yield and duration, MMF mechanics, and credit and concentration risk at instrument level
Track record of automating manual treasury processes and implementing treasury or investment accounting systems
Comfortable working with position-level data directly — you can interrogate a portfolio file rather than wait for a report
Experience with regulators, external audit, and external asset managers (mandate setting, IMA terms, performance challenge)
Sound judgement under time pressure in a lean environment with real accountability and limited cover
Strong Excel skills
Fluent English
Nice to have
Familiarity with IFRS 9 or Dutch GAAP (RJ 290) financial instrument accounting
SQL or Python
Experience in a firm transitioning toward a banking licence
Experience using AI tools (e.g. LLMs, copilots) to accelerate analytical and reporting workflows
