Company Description
We’re http://checkout.comCheckout.com http://Checkout.com. You might not know our name, but companies like eBay, Spotify, Klarna, Uber, and Sony do, because we’re behind many of the digital experiences you use every day.
We are where the world checks out, enabling over 10 billion transactions yearly for more than one billion global shoppers.
Whether you want to book a holiday, order food, renew a subscription, or check out online, there’s a good chance our tech powers the payments behind the scenes. Our platform helps the most ambitious businesses deliver effortless digital experiences, at scale.
If you want to do career-defining work, you’ve come to the right place. We move fast, think globally, and believe great teams are built by hiring exceptional people with conviction, curiosity, and the desire to make an impact.
With 20 offices across six continents and London as our HQ, we’re shaping the future of fintech – and we’re just getting started.
About the team
Payment Success Management (PSM) is a merchant-facing team that diagnoses and fixes payment performance problems. When a merchant's performance falls short of expectations or trails another payment provider, we find the root cause and close the gap. This role supports US-based merchants and works alongside our account managers and technical account managers.
How you'll make an impact
- Own merchant performance engagements from start to finish, typically about three months each: kickoff, diagnosis, fixes, A/B testing and reporting results.
- Dig deep into large, complex datasets to find the root cause of performance gaps. Merchants tell us there's a problem, not where it is.
- Turn your findings into hypotheses, run A/B tests and other experiments to prove them, and measure the uplift.
- Understand how our machine-learning optimization engine makes decisions. Spot patterns where it gets things wrong and work with our ML engineering team to fix them.
- Present your findings and results to merchants and non-technical stakeholders as a clear, persuasive story.
- Use automation and AI to make the team's day-to-day work more efficient.
- Share what you learn across teams. The problems we solve are rarely the same twice.
What we're looking for
- 2+ years of experience using data to drive measurable results, such as revenue uplift, cost reduction or efficiency gains, in a role where you owned the metrics and the decisions.
- Strong SQL and Python skills for analysis. You should be confident checking your own queries, and any AI-generated code, for accuracy. You don't need to write production-quality code, and we'll teach you Go.
- Natural curiosity. You enjoy solving problems that don't have a ready-made answer.
- The ability to explain complex analysis clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Payments experience isn't required. We'll teach you everything you need in your first weeks.
- We'd love to hear from people with consulting backgrounds, where you linked client teams and technical teams, or startup backgrounds, where you owned and optimized things end to end.

An overview of this role
Support Engineering at GitLab believes that healthy teams deliver a healthy customer experience, and that command during a crisis shouldn't fall to whoever happens to be senior and available. GitLab's global Incident & Escalation Management (IM/EM) function coordinates critical incidents, complex multi-team engagements, and executive-level escalations for enterprise customers. As Escalation Manager, you'll own complex, executive, and commercial escalations where customer trust and the relationship are at stake, alongside or independently of a technical issue.
In this functional role, you'll advocate for customers inside GitLab, coordinate teams toward resolution, and lead relationship repair after the event.
What you'll do
Own complex, executive, and commercial escalations end-to-end, as defined in GitLab's IM/EM engagement model.
Advocate for customers internally and coordinate Engineering, Support, Product, Customer Success, and Sales toward resolution, tracking commitments and holding owning teams accountable to agreed dates and deliverables.
Maintain a written, customer-facing resolution plan from engagement through confirmed resolution, updating it at each communication milestone.
Coordinate with Incident Managers during concurrent technical incidents to maintain a single, coherent narrative for the customer.
Own external escalation communications using GitLab's approved templates and cadence, and represent GitLab in high-stakes customer conversations where clarity and ownership influence retention.
Engage Sales, Customer Success, and executive stakeholders as needed, including executive-to-executive communication for Severity 1 and 2 events. Brief GitLab leadership with concise summaries that distinguish what's known, what's unknown, and next steps.
Lead post-escalation reviews and relationship repair plans, contribute corrective actions with named owners and due dates to postmortems, and hand the relationship back to the account's Customer Success Manager at resolution.
Partner with the Head of IM/EM to develop playbooks, communication templates, and process improvements based on patterns from escalations.
What you'll bring
Experience in enterprise technical support, customer success, or incident and escalation management at a business-to-business software-as-a-service or enterprise software company.
A track record of owning complex, multi-stakeholder escalations end-to-end, including executive customer engagements and structured resolution or account plans.
Executive-level written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical detail into plain-language updates for customers and GitLab leadership.
The ability to coordinate Engineering, Support, Product, Customer Success, and Sales under pressure without formal authority over those teams.
Calm, structured decision-making with incomplete information and the ability to provide a steadying presence in high-stress customer situations.
Proficiency with support and coordination tools such as Zendesk, Salesforce, Slack, and PagerDuty, or equivalent platforms.
Availability for on-call coverage supporting executive escalations as part of a globally distributed team.
Nice to have:
Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation or equivalent certification; customer-facing experience with GitLab, development, security, and operations (DevSecOps), continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD), or cloud-native products; experience with formal escalation or incident command frameworks; or AI-assisted support tools for triage, sentiment analysis, or resolution drafting.
About the team
The Incident & Escalation Management function sits within Support Engineering in GitLab's Enterprise Technology & AI (ETA) division. We operate a follow-the-sun model anchored in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and Asia-Pacific, providing year-round, 24-hour coverage for enterprise customers. Our Escalation Managers work globally rather than within a single region, partnering with Incident Managers, Communications Leads, and regional Support Engineering leadership. You'll help shape our playbooks, templates, and standards as we scale.

With 20 offices across six continents and London as our HQ, we’re shaping the future of fintech – and we’re just getting started.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As Director, SMB and Platforms Risk, you will own the first-line risk strategy and operating model for our SMB and platform sellers globally. You'll be based in London and report to the VP, Risk Operations. You will lead onboarding and monitoring teams in Mauritius and Mexico through local team leaders, and a BPO partner.
You will partner with Product, Risk Analytics, Engineering and Commercial to make onboarding and monitoring scalable, measurable and proportionate to risk. We're looking for a programmatic, systems-minded risk leader who can design the operating model and run it day to day, protecting the business while enabling responsible growth.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Set the risk strategy and operating model across the seller lifecycle: onboarding, risk-based tiering, review criteria, monitoring triggers and actions such as reserves, funds controls and termination.
- Partner with Product, Risk Analytics and Engineering to turn risk needs into clear requirements, decision logic and a prioritised automation roadmap.
- Define and track the KPIs that balance control, customer experience and cost, including straight-through processing, onboarding time, loss rates and alert precision.
- Lead operational performance across teams in Mauritius and Mexico through local leaders, setting priorities, procedures, SLAs, quality standards and capacity plans.
- Scale the operation as headcount grows: stand up additional teams as needed, govern BPO partners, and prioritise automation improvements.
- Close the loop between cases, losses and fraud patterns so that rules, thresholds, policy and product priorities keep improving.
- Own first-line control quality and audit readiness, with clear handoffs of risks, issues and remediation to second-line oversight.
- Represent SMB and Platforms Risk in governance, product and commercial forums, including risk-based pricing and bespoke platform deals. Hold a clear risk position while finding structured paths to yes.
- Apply AI and LLM-enabled tools to triage, case summarisation, QA and risk insight, with appropriate human review, data protection and audit trails.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Deep risk expertise in SMB acquiring, with a strong grasp of credit exposure, reserves, fraud and transaction monitoring across the seller lifecycle.
- Understanding of platform and PayFac models, including ISVs, marketplaces and merchant-of-record structures.
- Working knowledge of KYC/KYB and CDD, and of how onboarding controls connect to downstream risk.
- A programmatic mindset: you turn complex risk needs into operating models, requirements and roadmaps, make pragmatic trade-offs, and drive delivery.
- Proven operational leadership of distributed teams through local leaders, with rigour in capacity planning, SLAs, QA, procedures and control evidence.
- A track record of building or scaling automated onboarding and monitoring in a high-volume, low-touch environment.
- Data fluency: you set meaningful KPIs, interpret rule and model performance, and work with analytics teams to improve outcomes.
- Senior influence with Product, Commercial, Legal, Finance and executive audiences, with the confidence to challenge and find responsible ways to say yes.
- Ability to travel to our Mauritius and Mexico offices at least twice a year.
DESIRABLE
- Hands-on depth in KYC/KYB, CDD and card-scheme requirements and controls.
- Experience managing BPO or third-party operations partners, including performance governance and service-quality improvement.
- Experience building a monitoring capability or operating model from the ground up in regulated payments or fintech.
- Experience deploying AI-assisted operations or agentic workflows responsibly in risk, compliance or customer operations.

About Finom
Finom is a European financial platform for small businesses and freelancers. Our e-money institution, Finom Payments B.V., is supervised by De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB). We onboard more than 10,000 new businesses every month and serve over 100,000 active business customers across Europe.
Role Summary
You sit in every board and committee meeting, make sure each one ends in clear decisions, and build the system that turns those decisions into a single source of truth that does its own follow-up.
You run company secretarial work as a service across the group: the management boards, supervisory boards and board committees of Finom Group, Finom Payments B.V. and other group entities. That comes to about 90 meetings a year (roughly 2 a week, peaking at quarter ends), plus ad hoc meetings and written resolutions. More boards will be added as the group grows.
This is a
list of your stakeholders
and your expectations for each of them:
CEO Finom Group - Group board cycle, decision and action register, follow-up across the group
CEO Finom Payments B.V. - Management Board cycle, regulator-ready minutes, follow-up across Finom Payments
Chairs of the Supervisory Boards - Agenda, packs, minutes and actions for each board, on one standard
Chairs of the board committees (e.g. risk, audit, remuneration) Committee calendar, packs, minutes, action tracking, input for the annual evaluation
Each chair is a client. One system, one standard, one register for all of them.
Responsibilities
1. Secretary: be the secretary in the room
Attend all management board, supervisory board and committee meetings across the group, tracking agenda, quorum, conflicts of interest and decision rights.
Draft minutes and resolutions to regulator and auditor standard, based on Legal’s mandatory draft.
Run the annual cycle (calendars, charters, evaluations, entity registers) and prepare DNB, KvK and UBO filings with Legal/Compliance sign-off.
Own records management and access rights, and build controls with Risk and Internal Audit (audit trail, human sign-off, AI accuracy checks).
Distribute minutes and decisions to the relevant teams.
2. Organiser: meetings run on time and end in decisions
Own the annual agenda for each board and committee, and run a prep cadence with presenters.
Send packs 5 working days ahead, with a pre-meeting brief and a standard board paper template (send back papers that miss the bar).
Keep one register of decisions and actions (source, owner, due date, status, closure evidence), with automatic follow-up and escalation of overdue items to the chair.
Benchmark against best practice in regulated banks and listed companies.
3. Builder: build it yourself
Build the governance part of Finom’s company-wide AI brain with the AI team: meeting capture, minute drafting, action extraction, the register, board packs, reminders and exports.
Design it so any meeting can run without you, with the chair appointing a stand-in secretary.
Work hands-on in Notion, Gemini, Granola, Google Workspace, n8n, Langdock, Claude, Slack and email.
Who you are
Discreet (a must):
You handle sensitive board, regulator, people and deal topics, and keep information and access rights tightly controlled.
Delivers:
You get every action closed on time by finding out why things stall, helping the owner, and escalating to the chair when needed.
Direct and honest:
You flag conflicts with earlier minuted positions in the moment, and record decisions exactly as they were made.
Curious builder:
You learn new tools and AI on your own, and keep asking until a decision is clear.
Presence and service mindset:
Board members and the regulator trust you from day one, and your success is a board that works well.
Requirements
Audit trail and process discipline.
You have run or improved a governance, control or compliance process that was tested by an auditor or regulator, and you can show how the decision trail was kept complete.
Proven discretion
with board-level, regulatory or people-sensitive information, confirmed through references.
at least 3 to 8 years in a board office,
company secretariat, governance operations team or corporate law practice, at a bank, insurer, licensed fintech, law firm or listed company.
Working knowledge of
Dutch BV/NV and European bank-grade governance
: what an audit trail is, why a regulator reads board minutes, how a two-tier board works, and the difference between executive and non-executive roles (MB and SB)
Nice to have
A law degree or company secretarial qualification (CGI), or studying for one.
Experience with a board portal (e.g. Diligent).
Experience working under DNB, the ECB or another EU supervisor, or in a listed company.
Have used AI and automation to improve processes efficiency

Join the team as our next Principal engineer (L5) on Twilio’s Segment, Data Pipelines team.
About the job
As a Principal Engineer on the Twilio Segment Data platform/pipelines team, you won’t just design systems—you will be the design anchor for data platforms that processes hundreds of thousands of data points per second. We are looking for a visionary, deeply inquisitive engineer who has built 0-1 architectures, scaled them to global proportions, and collected the battle scars that come from pushing cloud-native systems to their absolute limits. You will guide our engineering organization through complex distributed design choices, ensuring reliability, performance, and cost-efficiency while querying petabytes of data for the world's leading Customer Data Platform (CDP). If you are naturally curious, obsessed with knowing exactly how systems break under intense load, and eager to pioneer the integration of AI into real-world data processing, this is your ultimate playground.
Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll:
Own the technical north star and deliver robust, highly composable routing experiences for the core Data platform and pipelines at Twilio Segment.
Design and pioneer always-available, fault-tolerant distributed systems in cloud environments, using past system failures to design out-of-the-box resilience.
Lead through technical influence, masterfully guiding high-stakes design decisions and articulating the precise trade-offs between cost, performance, and reliability to both engineers and executives.
Translate complex technical strategies into clear, elegant, and actionable blueprints that align diverse stakeholders, including Product Managers, Architects, and engineering teams.
Actively prototype and experiment, bringing an inquisitive mindset to the platform by identifying where emerging AI technologies and LLMs can solve systemic data processing challenges.
Qualifications
Twilio values diverse experiences from all kinds of industries, and we encourage everyone who meets the required qualifications to apply. If your career is just starting or hasn't followed a traditional path, don't let that stop you from considering Twilio. We are always looking for people who will bring something new to the table!
*Required:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
12+ years of programming experience. Deep battle-tested experience with high-scale messaging/streaming systems and distributed processing engines (handling several thousand events/sec minimum).
Mastery of high-level service design, with a proven ability to model complex interfaces and internals in a properly modular, composable, and extensible way.
Expert programming experience in Go or similar concurrent, object-oriented languages, with a sharp eye for performance bottlenecks.
An active "AI story"—demonstrated, hands-on experience identifying, prototyping, and deploying GenAI/LLM solutions to solve real-world engineering or data processing challenges.
Profound technical depth in distributed systems, high-scale ingestion, and cutting-edge cloud-native architecture.
Superb communication and problem-solving skills, with a natural inclination to mentor others and a relentless drive for operational excellence
Desired:
Advanced proficiency with high-throughput datastores, distributed caching layers, and container orchestrators (Docker/Kubernetes).
Experience with modern CI/CD pipelines and robust observability frameworks (Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus) to predict and diagnose failures.
Deep familiarity with broader AI/ML infrastructure and data workflows.
Hands-on experience managing, optimizing, and operating large-scale AWS cloud infrastructure.
A proven track record of driving technical alignment and collaboration across a geographically distributed engineering team.
