Location: Chicago, Illinois Fin , now part of Salesforce, is on a mission to help businesses provide perfect customer experiences. Our AI Agent Fin is the highest-performing AI Customer Agent on the market today, enabling businesses to deliver impeccable, always-on customer support across the customer journey, from service, to sales, to ecommerce. Powered by our own AI models, Fin resolves complex customer issues end-to-end across every channel, with minimal set-up and integration. Fin can also be combined with our natively integrated Intercom help desk, giving modern support teams one single system. Together with Salesforce, the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success, we're building the future of customer experience. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn't a buzzword, it's a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing, and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI. Ready to level up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You're in the right place. Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce. What's the opportunity? As Fin becomes mission-critical for our most strategic customers, we’re growing our team of Forward Deployed Engineers to help bridge the gap between customer needs and product innovation. As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you’ll work hands-on with strategic customers, partnering closely with our R&D and Go-to-Market teams to design and deliver high-impact solutions. You’ll go beyond implementation - helping shape product direction, influence roadmap decisions and ensure Fin delivers real, measurable business outcomes in complex, real-world environments. If you’re excited by ownership, creativity and solving ambiguous problems, and want to work at the frontier of applied AI while collaborating with Product, Engineering and Go-to-Market teams, this role offers a rare opportunity to combine technical excellence with real customer impact. What will I be doing? Drive adoption of Fin by helping customers unlock the power of our AI capabilities to automate and scale their support operations. Embed deeply with strategic customers to understand their business challenges and technical requirements, and provide the insight needed to achieve outstanding results with Fin. Work hands-on with customers’ technical teams as a trusted technical expert, coding side-by-side to drive projects through to completion. Collaborate closely with Sales, Success and Product teams to ensure seamless customer experiences, successful project delivery and actionable product feedback. Contribute to the evolution of Forward Deployed Engineering by codifying best practices and sharing insights from customer engagements to help the team scale and grow. What skills do I need? A strong engineering background and experience building software with real-world usage. Experience building a SaaS product is a plus, but not a requirement. Interest in AI and machine learning, and the ability to quickly build an understanding of novel problems, capabilities and architectures - including their trade-offs and limitations. Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to navigate organisational boundaries and bring people together to achieve the best outcomes for our customers. Deep knowledge of at least one high-level programming language, such as JavaScript, Python or Ruby. It doesn’t need to be a language we use today - great people learn quickly and can introduce us to better ways of working. The ability to prototype and ship software quickly while maintaining a high bar for quality and a clear focus on business goals and outcomes. Proficiency using and writing REST APIs to integrate systems effectively. Strong communication skills. You can comfortably discuss the same topics with engineers and non-technical audiences, adapting the depth and detail as needed. Willingness to travel and work on-site with customers to build strong relationships and deeply understand their needs. *Proof of eligibility to work in the United States is required.
