Location: Hybrid - San Francisco About Vercel: Vercel is the agentic infrastructure company, freeing people and agents to ship what's next. For more than a decade we've helped builders move from idea to production with speed, security, and exceptional developer experience. Now we're scaling our products for both agents and people to ship and run software, built in the open and trusted by OpenAI, PayPal, Ramp, Supreme, and millions of developers worldwide. About the Role: As an Engineering Manager on the Dashboard team, you will lead a team of engineers responsible for the primary interface developers use to build, deploy, and manage applications on Vercel. The Dashboard is where customers experience the platform every day, from onboarding new projects to managing deployments, observability, billing, security, AI, and team collaboration. You'll partner closely with Product, Design, Data, and other engineering teams to deliver intuitive, high-quality product experiences while helping shape the long-term architecture of one of Vercel's most important customer-facing surfaces. This role requires balancing technical leadership, product thinking, and strong people management to help the team ship quickly without compromising quality. What You Will Do: Build and grow a high-performing team of engineers through hiring, coaching, mentorship, and thoughtful career development. Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and high engineering standards while creating an environment where engineers can do their best work. Partner closely with Product, Design, and other engineering teams to define roadmap priorities and execute against ambitious product goals. Help the team make sound technical decisions around frontend architecture, performance, reliability, and developer experience. Occasionally review and contribute code to stay close to the technology and unblock the team when needed. Drive operational excellence through strong engineering processes, incident management, and continuous improvement. Balance short-term product delivery with long-term investments in technical quality and platform scalability. Champion a customer-first mindset, ensuring the Dashboard remains fast, intuitive, and delightful for developers of all sizes. About You: You have experience leading and growing high-performing engineering teams. You have built and operated large-scale customer-facing web applications or developer products. You have a strong product engineering mindset and enjoy working closely with product managers and designers to deliver polished user experiences. You have experience building modern web applications using technologies such as React, Next.js, TypeScript, and the broader JavaScript ecosystem. You understand frontend architecture, performance optimization, accessibility, and design systems. You communicate clearly across technical and non-technical audiences and can build alignment across teams. You thrive in fast-moving environments and are comfortable making decisions with incomplete information. You care deeply about creating an inclusive team culture where engineers can grow and have meaningful impact. Benefits & Compensation: Competitive compensation package and stock options. Comprehensive, inclusive healthcare package. Opportunities for mentorship and professional growth, including attendance at industry events. Flexible Time Off with a recommended minimum of four weeks per year, plus paid holidays. Remote-friendly culture with teammates across multiple time zones. Dedicated equipment and work-from-home budget to help you create an effective workspace. The San Francisco, CA base pay range for this role is $226,000-$325,000. Actual salary will be based on job-related skills, experience, and location. Compensation outside of San Francisco may be adjusted based on employee location. The total compensation package may include benefits, equity-based compensation, and eligibility for a company bonus or variable pay program depending on the role. Your recruiter can share more details during the hiring process. Disclosures: Privacy: Please review our Job Applicant Privacy Policy for more information on how we handle your data. Location: United States Remote; Canada Remote ABOUT THE TEAM At Mural, we’re reimagining how teams think and create together. The Design and Research team brings clarity to complexity, shaping experiences that help people collaborate, ideate, and solve problems visually. We partner deeply with engineering, product, and research to invent the next generation of collaborative work combining craft, systems thinking, and bold exploration. YOUR MISSION As a Lead Product Designer focused on Growth, you’ll define how Mural earns user trust at the moments that matter most when someone first encounters the product's value, decides to go deeper, or chooses to stay. This is end to end growth journey ownership. It's about designing the logic of how Mural grows: the moments where clarity converts, where friction is a design failure, and where the line between growth and product quality either holds or breaks. You'll work across discovery, activation, and pricing surfaces, onboarding paths, upgrade flows, lifecycle touchpoints, and in-product nudges. Most importantly, you'll orchestrate how those surfaces work together and set the standard for how growth design is practiced at Mural. You'll succeed if you can bring full journey thinking, rigor and craft to a domain that often defaults to shortcuts and if you can help a cross-functional team understand what good growth design actually looks like. WHAT YOU'LL DO PLAYER RESPONSIBILITIES (INDIVIDUAL CONTRIBUTOR WORK): - Define high-quality, user-centered discovery, activation, and monetization experiences across problem to success flows, upgrade flows, pricing surfaces, and lifecycle touchpoints — setting patterns that scale across the platform. - Work from concept to production, delivering thoughtful UX, polished visual design, and vibe coded prototypes that help the organization understand direction, risk, and value. - Use behavioral data as a primary design input: interpret funnel metrics, experiment results, and user signals to inform design decisions, not just validate them. - Design and lead experiments across acquisition, activation, and expansion funnels — from hypothesis formation through read-out, in close partnership with product and data science. - Establish reusable growth patterns in Mural's design system that balance clarity, persuasion, and long-term user trust. - Partner with engineers to ensure accurate, high-quality implementation of flows and components. COACHING RESPONSIBILITIES (PRACTICE LEADERSHIP & MANAGEMENT): - Directly manage one to three designers on the growth surface: run regular 1:1s, set goals, give performance feedback, and support their career growth. - Balance IC output with people leadership — this is a hands-on management role, not a full-time management track. Expect the majority of your time to remain in design work. - Model how to hold craft and commercial intent simultaneously — showing peers what it looks like to design for conversion without compromising user trust. - Mentor designers working on growth-adjacent surfaces, developing their instincts around hierarchy, motivation, friction, and funnel thinking. - Contribute to how the team understands growth design as a discipline: a principled approach to earning user commitment. - Champion the relationship between growth quality and product quality, helping leadership understand when they align and when they're in tension. - Partner with research, data science, and product to elevate experimentation quality across the organization. HYBRID RESPONSIBILITIES (BOTH PLAYER & COACH): - Reframe problems at the funnel level helping teams understand where value is earned or lost and why. - Lead workshops or working sessions that bring clarity to pricing, packaging, onboarding, and upgrade moment opportunities. - Collaborate with product, research, and data science to define success metrics, shape experiment hypotheses, and interpret outcomes. - Advocate for user trust as a growth asset, not an obstacle to conversion — and model how design holds that line. DESIGN & RESEARCH TEAM CONTRIBUTION: - Share growth approaches for designing discovery, onboarding, and identity flows with peers through critique and collaboration. - Partner with research, data, and product teams to elevate experimentation quality and improve how Mural understands user value signals. - Contribute to a culture of design excellence, especially in areas where growth and monetization intersect with core product experiences. WHAT YOU’LL BRING - 8+ years of product design experience, ideally in SaaS, productivity tools, collaboration software, or product-led growth environments. - 2+ years of managing other designers - A track record of leading growth, monetization, or conversion-focused design work — not just contributing to it. - Deep fluency in funnel thinking: you understand acquisition, activation, retention, and expansion as a connected system, not isolated moments. - Strong data instincts: you can read behavioral data, interpret experiment results, and use both to sharpen design decisions. - Exceptional craft: visual clarity, spacing, motion, and interaction polish are second nature. - Systems thinking: you understand how decisions cascade across surfaces, journeys, and user relationships over time. - Experience mentoring or leading other designers, even informally — you know how to raise the quality of work around you. - Strong communication skills that help cross-functional partners make smart, user-centered decisions. - Comfort operating in spaces where patterns don’t yet exist and playbooks need to be written. ALSO GREAT IF YOU BRING - Experience with pricing architecture, packaging strategy, or monetization model design. - Deep experience mapping and designing activation journeys — the full arc from first action to genuine value realization. - Hands-on experience using AI-assisted tools and vibe coding to prototype growth flows, simulate behavioral nudges, and stress-test funnel logic in motion — treating code as a design material for rapid exploration. - Background in organic acquisition or activation funnels at scale. - Familiarity with AI-assisted experiences or contextual intelligence in growth flows. - Experience working with data science teams on experimentation frameworks or causal inference. - History of shaping 0→1 growth systems or redesigning broken acquisition or retention loops. WHY YOU’LL LOVE MURAL You’ll help shape how millions of people discover value in Mural, understand what the product can do for them, and make confident choices about their journey. You’ll design experiences that balance business goals with user trust, clarity, and delight. You’ll collaborate with thoughtful partners who care about evidence, craft, and outcomes. At Mural, we “drink our own champagne” and use our product daily to collaborate, ideate, and prototype together. This role is Canada Remote. Your design work will shape how millions of people around the world collaborate. Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. EQUAL OPPORTUNITY We will ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodation to participate in the job application or interview process, to perform essential job functions, and to receive other benefits and privileges of employment. Please contact us to request accommodation.

Location: Europe (+/- 3 hours) Workplace: Remote 👋 A LITTLE ABOUT US We’re building the best platform for authoring, publishing, and maintaining world-class docs. Close to 40,000 sign-ups per month, over 100k Monthly Active Users, used by 2M+ people and thousands of teams like Zoom, FedEx, Nvidia, Snyk, and Google. We’re profitable, backed by P9 Capital, Notion Capital, and Fly VC, and our amazing team is spread across 15 countries in North America, Europe, and Asia. Our enterprise motion is growing, and the way we reach those buyers is changing. Docs are bought by engineering leaders, platform teams, and developer experience owners, people who don't answer cold emails but do show up at conferences, dinners, hackathons, and community meetups. Field marketing is how we get in front of them. Today our event activity is opportunistic: a booth here, a sponsored dinner there, a webinar when someone has time. There's no tiering model, no consistent follow-up motion, and no reliable way to say which events created the (right) pipeline. This role owns all of it. This is a new function at GitBook. You'd be the first person to own it. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Own the global event calendar: Decide which industry tradeshows and conferences we show up at, at what level, and why and then run them end to end: sponsorship negotiation, booth, staffing, messaging, budget, and on-site execution. - Build activation around the big moments: The booth is rarely where the deals happen. You'll design the side-events that surround a conference such as curated dinners, executive roundtables, breakfast briefings, happy hours, and build the guest lists around accounts we actually want in the room. - Create GitBook's own events: Design and run owned formats that people want to attend because of what they are, not because we sponsored them. Roadshows, customer summits, docs-focused meetups, launch moments. You'll define the format, the content arc, and the experience. - Experiment with community activation: Work with our DevRel colleagues on hackathons, docs sprints, and community events. Some will work and some won't; you'll run them as experiments with a clear read on what happened. - Own online events: Webinars, virtual roundtables, and livestreams, you’ll be either running them yourself or coordinating the team members who do. - Build the tiering model: Define what a Tier 1, 2, and 3 event looks like at GitBook: spend bands, staffing, pre- and post-event motion, and the bar an event has to clear to earn each tier. - Report on pipeline, not attendance: Build the measurement model for events: cost per opportunity, event-sourced and event-influenced pipeline, target-account attendance, and conversion through to closed won. - Make the sales follow-up motion work: Build a lightweight SLA for pre-event target lists with AEs, brief the team on what to do at the event, and build the follow-up structure that turns a badge scan into a conversation. - Act as ABM sparring partner: Our enterprise motion runs on account-based plays. You'll be the person Sales and Marketing think out loud with on account selection, buying-committee mapping, and how field programs plug into 1:1 and 1:few plays HOW WE'LL MEASURE SUCCESS In your first 90 days: a tiered event calendar for the next four quarters, a working measurement model in our CRM, and a follow-up motion Sales has actually agreed to. After that: event-sourced and event-influenced pipeline, cost per opportunity by tier, target-account penetration at Tier 1 events, and speed of follow-up. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - 7–10 years in B2B SaaS marketing: you need to have a meaningful stretch of that in field marketing, event marketing, or integrated demand generation. You've run international programs, including and especially in the USA. - A ROI mindset: You talk in opportunities and cost per opportunity, not impressions and badge scans. You've defended an event budget with numbers and you've killed events that didn't earn their place. - Real operational range: You can negotiate a sponsorship contract, argue about booth carpet, write a good invite email, and build a Hubspot dashboard or report (or know who to ask to build it for you). - Sales credibility: AEs will trust you or route around you. You can walk into a pipeline review, take a hard question about last quarter's spend, and answer it without getting defensive. - Taste: Most B2B events are forgettable. We'd rather run fewer things that people remember. You should have opinions about what makes an event worth attending. - Comfort with a technical audience: Our buyers are engineers and the people who lead them. You don't need to write code, but you need to know why developer-audience marketing fails when it's too polished. - Ownership mindset: There's no playbook here. You'll write it: defining process, flagging problems early, and not waiting to be told what to build next. Also, you might be coming from a field marketing role at a SaaS company that got heavier on events, an event marketing role where you started owning the pipeline number, a demand gen role with a large in-person component, or a community or DevRel role that grew a commercial edge. We care less about the label than about what you can actually do. Some travel is expected, roughly a week or two a quarter, with a potential for a week a month in the conference season peak. WHAT THIS ROLE IS NOT This isn't a role where you'll manage a team from day one, and it isn't purely strategic. You'll be on the floor at the show and in the spreadsheet the week after. It's also not brand marketing or product marketing. You'll draw on both, and you'll partner closely with them, but you're accountable for the pipeline. If you do this well, the function grows in scope, budget, and eventually headcount. But we're hiring for someone who wants to build it from scratch, not for the version of this role that exists in two years. 👥 Join GitBook at a pivotal time as we evolve our product and team. This is a chance to shape our product, craft, and culture https://www.gitbook.com/about#open-roles.

Location: San Francisco, CA or Remote, US About the role Descript's script-based editing features are at the heart of why creators trust us for their highest-stakes content. Product launches. Client interviews. Marketing campaigns. Content that represents them to their audiences. As Lead Product Manager of the Narrative Editing team, you'll own how users capture, edit, and perfect their stories. You'll shape the script-first editing that makes video as simple as a document, the recording and writing tools that let users create without leaving Descript, and the AI regeneration features that make edits feel seamless and natural. This is an opportunity to shape features that professional creators depend on while working with cutting-edge AI, a product users love, and a small, collaborative team where your impact is immediate and visible. What you’ll do Develop a deep understanding of our customers, their creative goals, and the evolving AI video landscape — and use those insights to guide the editor roadmap Bring Descript's taste for great video into interactions and defaults, so creators naturally produce polished, professional work Continuously expand our editing capabilities with frontier AI technology by partnering with our AI Research team, launching features like video regeneration and automatic speaker identification Own the recording, script generation, and translation flows that help users achieve their end-to-end video workflows directly in Descript Ensure Descript scales reliably for larger teams and more complex workflows Who you are You’ve built deceptively powerful tools: You have 5 or more years of product management experience shipping creative tools or workflow products that feel simple enough for everyone, but scale to handle sophisticated use cases. You are a systems-minded product thinker who excels at designing intuitive experiences for complex, end-to-end workflows. You start with the customer : Plenty of “AI products” start with the technology and they all suck. You care deeply about understanding customers, and have experience in doing customer discovery and defining features that solve real problems. You are a fog sculptor : There are aspects to our editor and its design that do not have real competitors yet. The product intuition and design conventions have not been decided. You are attracted to ambiguous problems, know how to ask smart questions, and translate ideas into action. You care about craft: Our product is not a hype machine that runs on empty promises and vaporware. We think our product will be successful because people love to use it. That means you sweat the details. But without the sweat, because you aren’t stressed out. You are funny, creative, maybe kind of weird : Ok, this isn’t a hard requirement but Descript is kind of a quirky place and the people who love it tend to like that about working here. So, just want to drop a hint early on. Also, the sense of humor is important because even though we take our work seriously it’s still just, like, video creation and editing. We aren’t flying rockets into space so let’s all have a good time. The base salary range for this role is $225,000 - $290,000. Final offer amounts will carefully consider multiple factors, including prior experience, expertise, location, level, and may vary from the amount above. About Descript Descript is building a simple, intuitive, fully-powered editing tool for video and audio — an editing tool built for the age of AI. We are a team of 150 and the backing of some of the world's greatest investors ( OpenAI , Andreessen Horowitz , Redpoint Ventures , Spark Capital ). Descript is the special company that's in possession of both product market fit and the raw materials (passionate user community, great product, large market) for growth, but is still early enough that each new employee has a measurable influence on the direction of the company. Benefits include a generous healthcare package, 401k matching program, catered lunches, and flexible vacation time. Our headquarters are located in the Mission District of San Francisco, CA. We're hiring for a mix of remote roles and hybrid roles. For those who are remote, we have a handful of opportunities throughout the year for in person collaboration. For our hybrid roles, we're flexible, and you're an adult—we don't expect or mandate that you're in the office every day. We do believe there are valuable and serendipitous moments of discovery and collaboration that come from working together in person. Descript is an equal opportunity workplace—we are dedicated to equal employment opportunities regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity, or Veteran status. We believe in actively building a team rich in diverse backgrounds, experiences, and opinions to better allow our employees, products, and community to thrive.

Location: USA - Remote Workplace: Remote 💫 This job description was written by a person ABOUT US Since 2013, we’ve been building a CRM that gets out of your way and helps your team sell more, faster. Now we’re building AI into every part of it, so Close does the busywork and your team does the selling. No manual data entry, no 10-click workflows. Just communication-first, AI-powered sales software designed to help you succeed and scale. We're bootstrapped and profitable which means we answer to our customers and play by our rules. We're proud of our 120-person, 100% remote team, focused on building Close so that no small, scaling business fails because it can't figure out sales. ABOUT THE ROLE Our GTM org has a lot of questions. Most of the questions we care about can’t be answered by spinning up a cute dashboard. Is branded search creating new customers or capturing demand that already existed? Did the homepage redesign improve conversion, or did our traffic mix change? If we’ve got some wild ideas for our next bet, where should the money go? These kinds of big-picture questions require someone who can interrogate the metric, trace it through the warehouse, understand the business context, and turn it into action. This person will be our first Staff GTM Analyst. You’ll work alongside GTM leadership to make consequential decisions while still staying hands-on in the nitty gritty of all the data. The best part: the way we answer these questions is changing. Effective SQL is just a few tokens away, dashboards can be Claude-ed in minutes, and teammates increasingly expect to find their own answers. You’ll build the semantic layers, context, and guardrails that make self-service possible, even trustworthy, then determine where an analyst’s expertise is indispensable. YOU ARE - An experienced analyst. You have roughly 8 years of hands-on, highly technical analytics experience. Most importantly: you’re backed by the pattern recognition that comes with having seen all sorts of hairy problems. You’re at the point in your career where you can take an ambiguous business question, dive head-first into the data, turn your findings into a decision, and bring everyone else along with you. - A bridge between the technical and the business. You can build a model in dbt, work directly in Snowflake, and translate it into something actionable. You’ll partner closely with our Lead Analytics Engineer but you need to be willing and able to dive in and self-serve. - Fluent in the quirks of GTM data. Attribution, channel definitions, UTMs, bots and broken tracking are known quantities. You don’t need to have been a dedicated GTM Analyst, but you should certainly know your way around this part of the business. - Pushing the boundary of what AI means for analytics. AI is writing your first-draft SQL, analysis, and reporting and you’ve shifted that energy to bringing analysis into the future: building the semantic layers, context, and guardrails that let the team self-serve trustworthy answers. - A trusted cross-functional leader. Teammates across functions and levels listen to you. You immerse yourself in the context of their needs and bridge gaps in understanding. - Fiercely independent and accountable. You welcome a vague ask with aplomb. You’ll scope the problem, find the dependencies, bring in the right people, and drive the work through the analysis, recommendation…all the way to a fix. - More concerned with impact than output. A polished dashboard is useful only when it changes what we do. You prioritize the questions that can materially improve acquisition, conversion, retention, and revenue. YOU WILL - Make our GTM data trustworthy. You’ll define metrics, model the funnel from first touch through paid conversion, and reconcile discrepancies across Snowflake, Segment, Amplitude, GA4, and our ad platforms. - Explain what we’re seeing. Why are trials up while paid conversion isn’t? Why are Snowflake and Amplitude disagreeing? Which channel is driving volume but producing low-quality customers? You’ll dig into the data until we understand what changed and why. - Help decide what to do next. Are we on track to hit our goals? What would another investment in paid media produce? You’ll forecast, model the tradeoffs, and empower leadership to make the best possible decision. - Own the outcome. Whether you uncover something small like broken campaign tracking or you’re focused on moving a major business metric, you’ll bring in the right people and shepherd the team to the data-driven outcome. - Define the next era of Data at Close. You’ll help us move from a queue of reactive requests to a system where an agent spots changes, assembles the context, and gets the right insight to the right person at the right time. BENEFITS - Compensation: Competitive pay plus an organization-wide goal-based bonus - Paid Time Off: ~5 weeks of PTO to start. Plus a 1-week all-company Winter Holiday Break and paid US holidays. You'll earn 2 extra days for every year you're with Close. - 80% Work Option: Work with your manager to choose between a standard 5-day week or a 4-day week at 80% pay - Parental Leave: Paid leave for primary and secondary caregivers - Sabbatical: A 1-month paid sabbatical every 5 years with the team - Healthcare (US residents): Two medical plans with Close covering the majority of your premium, plus Dental, Vision, HSA, FSA, and company-paid Long-Term Disability - 401k (US residents): We match your contributions up to 6%, vested immediately OUR VALUES Build a house you want to live in - Examine long-term thinking and action No BS - Practice transparency and honesty, especially when it’s hard Invest in each other - Build successful relationships with your coworkers and customers Discipline equals freedom - Keep your word to yourself and others Strive for greatness - Constantly challenge yourself and others LEARN MORE Listen to our CEO and Founder, Steli Efti, tell the story of Close’s journey in the $0-30m Blueprint https://www.close.com/blueprint. Watch our culture video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=maXKi1GN2MI from our 2023 team retreat in Milan. Every year our entire team gathers in person to build connection, foster cross-functional collaboration, and have fun. In 2027, we're headed to Dusseldorf, Germany! Explore our product. Check out a demo https://www.close.com/demo-site! OUR HIRING PROCESS We ask a few role-specific questions as part of our application process. These questions are designed to help us learn more about you from the start, so please answer each one thoughtfully. We see this as an opportunity to get to know you beyond your resume. We use AI tools daily at Close and expect candidates to do the same. In evaluating your application, we aim to get a sense for you - the way you think, how you communicate, the work you've done. Applications that read as fully AI-generated will not be considered. Regardless of fit, you can expect to hear back from our team with an update on the status of your candidacy. If you progress to the interview process, you'll receive a full outline of the role-specific steps in your first touchpoint with us. We do our best to make the hiring process clear and human.

Location: San Francisco, CA or Remote, US Product engineering at Descript means owning outcomes, not just tickets — you'll take a problem from a rough idea to a shipped, measured result, working closely with product, design, and the rest of engineering along the way. We organize around a few teams, each responsible for a distinct part of the product: Editor: owns our video editor. Help make traditionally complex video-editing workflows simpler, craft cutting-edge AI into practical creative tools, and build on our vision of turning a text-editor for video into a tool that puts video in everyone's communication toolkit. Growth & Monetization: owns onboarding and activation, growth loops and in-product experiments, plans and pricing, checkout, billing, and AI credits. Help turn visitors into customers and customers into revenue. Media: owns project and media management (plus importing, managing, manipulating, compositing, transitions, shaders, visual and audio effects, rendering, exporting, and more!). AI: owns our agentic co-editor, Underlord, and the external API that allows it to scale. Help improve Underlord's harness to enhance its powers, polish its UX and editor integration, and add more capability to our API to unleash Underlord on the world. Regardless of your team you’ll have the opportunity to design thoughtful full-stack systems that work reliably and deliver value to new and existing users. What You’ll Do Own meaningful product surfaces end to end. Take problems from definition through design, implementation, launch, measurement, and maintenance. Improve core Editor workflows, shape the self-serve journey from signup through renewal, or help make Underlord more sentient. Shape the product, not just the implementation. Partner with Product and Design to propose better interactions, expose constraints, choose the right metrics, and find simpler paths to user outcomes. Build ambitious full-stack systems with care. Create responsive, reliable experiences. Stretch from TypeScript and React to NodeJS and Temporal to first and third party integrations to get the job done. Improve how the team learns and ships. Form hypotheses, instrument your work, release incrementally, and read results honestly. Strengthen the tooling, standards, tests, observability, and release practices that help the team move quickly without compromising quality. Raise the team’s technical ambition. Provide architectural direction, thoughtful reviews, mentoring, and clear human writing. What You Bring Required: You have 5+ years of experience building and shipping customer-facing products, including end-to-end features that measurably improved user or business outcomes. You effectively leverage agents to multiply your impact and think critically about how to better harness AI in your work. You’ve owned features/experiments end to end, from planning through launch, and leveraged analytics and metrics to evaluate impact. You orient quickly in unfamiliar systems by exploring and asking thoughtful questions to both your teammates and agents. You care about how software feels and notice when the technically correct result is still wrong for the user. You create clarity in ambiguous work and can navigate (and simplify!) significant product and technical complexity. You validate your work rigorously through focused reproductions, logs, tests, and other evidence rather than trusting that the output looks right. Experience that helps: Similar Products: Work on an editor, media product, creative tool, or payment system (like Stripe). Our Stack: TypeScript, HTML/CSS, React, Redux, Node.js, API design, Temporal Workflows, and SQL. But we obviously live in a post stack world. We just rewrote our media engine in Rust. None of us knows Rust. Crafting with AI: Building an agent or experimenting with media-generation models. Experimentation/Analytics Experience: We like people who know how to measure their success through experimentation and product analytics. Intricacies of Video: Shaders, graphics rendering, audio/visual effects, and media formats. Descript is a startup. We're especially interested in working with engineers who use the product and are aligned with our mission. To that end, we promise to review any application that includes a share link to a Descript video. The video can be about anything - your career, a favorite game or movie, a discarded audition tape for Love Island. If you take the time to make something in Descript, we'll commit to having a human watch it and review your application. 🤝 Compensation and benefits Base salary range: $200,000-$275,000, plus equity and benefits. Final offer amounts will carefully consider multiple factors, including prior experience, expertise, location, and level, and may vary from the amount above.
