About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the Role
Join Anthropic's Customer Success team as one of the founding members of our Japan Customer Success team as we pioneer the future of enterprise AI adoption. As a Customer Success Manager at Anthropic, you'll be the strategic partner and trusted advisor to our most complex customers across Japan, helping them harness the full potential of all our Claude capabilities: API, Claude for Enterprise, and Claude Code.
You'll develop genuine partnerships with customers, gaining a deep understanding of their business objectives, strategic direction, AI vision, and technical needs. You'll draw on both your business acumen and technical expertise to serve as a strategic advisor throughout their journey with us.
In partnership with the broader account team, you will help customers identify the right Claude capabilities for their specific business objectives. You'll work closely with them to provide best practices and guidance, and support them as their usage (consumption and seat based) grows and evolves.
Your role focuses on helping customers scale their usage effectively, implement change management strategies, optimize use cases, and maximize the value of their investment through expanded use cases across their organization. The insights you gather from your customers will directly inform our research priorities, product development, and go-to-market strategies. That makes you a key voice in shaping how we build and deliver ongoing value as a business.
As one of the founding members of our Customer Success team in Japan, you'll help shape how we build the function in-region. That includes establishing regional processes, developing new customer relationships, and representing Anthropic's brand in a high-growth market alongside a small, growing team. You'll operate with significant autonomy while maintaining strong alignment with global teams. This requires someone who thrives in ambiguous environments and can work effectively across time zones.
Key responsibilities
Build trusting, strategic relationships with key Japanese customer decision makers to understand their business and objectives, identifying opportunities for optimization and expansion
Become an expert in Anthropic's products across API, Claude for Enterprise, and Claude Code, understanding the technical nuances and best practices for each to guide customers to the right solutions
Leverage your deep knowledge of the customer and regional nuances to proactively drive usage planning, understanding current and future consumption and adoption and how it creates realized value for the customer
Monitor usage patterns and identify optimization opportunities, proactively addressing underutilization across both our consumption-based and seat-based products to drive full value from contracted commitments
Serve as the customer's thought partner, enhancing their knowledge of Claude products by socializing Anthropic's product roadmap, driving awareness of new products, and engaging Product PMs as the voice of Japanese customers
Document and quantify customer value realized through business outcomes, ROI, and impact metrics to build compelling internal business cases for continued and expanded investment
Identify potential use cases and lines of business not currently onboarded, partnering with customers to discover new applications for Claude across different departments, teams, and workflows
Develop and execute change management strategies to drive end-user adoption and maximize value within customer organizations, including Train the Trainer programs, Center of Excellence development, and organizational enablement
Own the customer experience across their lifecycle: manage comprehensive account and success plans grounded in the customer's business objectives, conduct Quarterly Business Reviews, and serve as the primary conduit between the customer and Anthropic
Build Anthropic's brand and customer relationships as part of our founding in-region CS team, developing Japan-specific processes, playbooks, and best practices where needed that account for regional business cultures

Required field of study:
A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience
Minimum years of experience:
Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position
Location-based hybrid policy:
Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices.
Visa sponsorship:
We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this.
For roles performing work in California:
We will consider for employment all qualified applicants, including those with arrest or conviction records or criminal histories, in a manner consistent with the requirements of applicable state and local laws, including the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, the City of Los Angeles’ Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance, the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers, and the California Fair Chance Act.

How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.

- Assist in reporting refurbishment or new office delivery costs, against business as usual spend for operational office locations.
- Support the coordination of financial and legal documentation required for transactions, such as preparing group structure charts and financials for external parties (e.g., landlords).
3. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Data Collation
- Lead the coordination and collection of energy, water, and utility consumption data across the global portfolio to support future CSR reporting requirements.
- Manage the challenge of obtaining utility data in co-working and serviced spaces where direct meter readings are complex, including liaising with local teams, operators and landlords to gather the necessary information.
- Act as the conduit between the CEO Office and ESG/CSR teams to ensure our portfolio meets the needs of Sustainability policies and or regulatory requirements.
4. Departmental Administrative Support
- Assist in due diligence and preparation of business cases by researching and reporting on regional office statistics (e.g., desk counts, utilisation, attendance, capacity & commercials).
- Act as a key liaison for business case presentation and refinement.
- Maintain dynamic headcount forecasts to ensure space planning aligns with evolving business needs, particularly for high-growth regions.
- Monitor and document team shift patterns to inform workspace strategy (e.g., HVAC service requirements, after-hours access, and desk rotation models).
- Monitor and manage utilisation reports for Serviced Offices, along with onboard and offboard leaves to locations where we do not directly manage access control.
- Maintain the central digital repository for all property documentation (leases, contracts, floor plans, and insurance certificates), ensuring strict naming conventions, accessibility, and version control are met to ensure 100% audit-readiness.
- Schedule and prepare agendas, collate pre-read materials, and document meeting minutes for key real estate governance forums, proactively tracking action items to ensure timely closure by stakeholders.
- Managing the administrative aspects of the "joiner/leaver" process for office access where no assigned Workplace / People person is assigned.
- Act as the primary administrator for processing property-related invoices, performing the initial "first-pass" review to flag discrepancies against purchase orders (POs) and ensuring all costs are accurately coded before final submission to Finance.
5. Health, Safety & Physical Security Management
- Coordinate the global H&S audit schedule in partnership with SMEs, managing the central audit database, evidence library, action log, and training records to track progress and compliance.
- Support the weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting framework to surface risk trends and audit completion status, allocating audits to regional teams for execution.
- Own the scheduling, chasing, and evidence trail for the audit lifecycle, acting as the primary administrative point of contact to ensure smooth execution.
- Drive the audit lifecycle by ensuring all actions are identified, triaged, and managed to resolution, proactively identifying blockers and managing overdue items.
- Ensure regional teams interpret and apply the central H&S framework in accordance with local laws while maintaining the global baseline standards.
- Manage the integration of the H&S framework with wider Real Estate RACI to ensure clear accountability and prevent overlaps in responsibilities.
- Implement and maintain physical security policies and standards across all global office locations.
- Instruct periodic physical security risk assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with security protocols.
- Oversee visitor management processes and physical security measures to safeguard personnel and assets.

An overview of this role
We are looking for a Backend Engineer to join our
Change Record
team within GitLab’s
Source Code stage
. As AI agents increasingly write code alongside people, every change needs a clear, trustworthy record of what changed, why, and who or what made it. You’ll build that record into GitLab’s source code experience, for humans and agents alike. This is a backend-focused role for an engineer with full-stack experience who enjoys balancing work on existing systems with new product development.
That work happens in one of GitLab’s oldest and most complex product areas, where you’ll use Ruby on Rails to improve a critical system serving GitLab.com, self-managed instances, and GitLab Dedicated. Source Code provides the interface layer, through Gitaly, to the Git repositories behind a large share of GitLab traffic, so you’ll help keep it reliable through performance tuning, caching, rate limiting, observability, and resiliency, collaborating with product, design, security, Gitaly, Code Review, and Source Code Experience teams. Supporting production systems and improving established experiences are central to the role, especially while you’re onboarding, and over time you’ll also help build experiences for developers working with agents.
You'll work remotely from the United Kingdom or Poland.
What you’ll do
Develop secure, well-tested, performant features and improvements using Ruby on Rails and GraphQL, among other technologies.
Work through complex requirements and legacy constraints to deliver clear solutions while protecting the reliability of this critical system.
Design and maintain backend services, APIs, data models, and business logic that support intuitive source code workflows.
Collaborate across functions and teams, both asynchronously and synchronously, and involve domain experts when their input will improve the outcome.
Use AI agents for well-scoped work when they can speed up delivery without sacrificing quality, and critically review their output.
Write maintainable code that follows GitLab's standards and contribute to constructive code reviews.
Help strengthen reliability by monitoring production health metrics, participating in Tier 2 on-call, troubleshooting incidents, contributing to root cause analysis, and improving observability and resiliency.
Share knowledge through code review, technical documentation, and everyday collaboration while learning from others.
Take part in on-call or operational support where your team’s ownership model requires it.
What you’ll bring
Professional experience building backend web applications, services, or application programming interfaces, with experience using Ruby and GraphQL.
An understanding of relational databases, structured query language, data modeling, caching, background processing, and backend performance practices.
Experience with full-stack development to build and maintain user-facing workflows and their underlying systems.
Experience writing backend unit and integration tests, with familiarity with the testing pyramid, Git, and collaborative code review processes.
Clear written and spoken English communication skills, including sharing useful status updates in a remote, asynchronous environment.
The ability to manage assigned priorities, work through ambiguity, take ownership of your work, and seek guidance when needed.
Experience using AI coding agents to speed up software development while critically reviewing their output.
Bonus: you’ve built agents or agent-based workflows that run in production, not just prototypes.
About the team
The functional team works across Europe and North America, supporting both synchronous and asynchronous collaboration. It includes four engineers, comprising both backend and frontend engineers. We work closely with other Source Code teams, Agentic Preview, Repository Services, and Hardening, as well as other teams in the company such as the Gitaly team, and the AI Governance team.
The base salary range for this role’s listed level is currently for residents of the EU, applicable in the specified country or countries only. Sales roles are also eligible for incentive pay targeted at up to 100% of the offered base salary. Grade level and salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant, equity with other team members, alignment with market data, and geographic location and having regard to any applicable collective agreements. We work with industry-leading organizations to design, build, and operationalize technology solutions that drive measurable business outcomes.
Following the acquisition of Tooploox, a premier AI and product development company, Solvd now offers true end-to-end delivery—from strategic advisory and solution design to custom AI development and enterprise-scale implementation. Our capability centers combine deep technical expertise, proven delivery methodologies, and sector-specific knowledge to address complex business challenges quickly and effectively.
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Elasticsearch, Scala) to join a team powering food search and logging for one of the world’s leading health and nutrition platforms. You’ll contribute directly to the systems that drive search — backend services, search infrastructure, and experimentation — with a focus on improving core metrics: conversion rates, time to log, query abandonment, and result relevance.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Contribute to, build, and maintain backend services that drive the food search experience, integrating with systems across the broader engineering organization.
- Perform search performance tuning end-to-end — data design, indexing, query evaluation, and iterative improvement within Elasticsearch.
- Assist in the evaluation and implementation of search and data technologies that improve result quality and user experience.
- Collaborate closely with senior search engineers, product management, and leadership on solution discovery, experiment planning, and delivery.
- Contribute to the development of tools, processes, and metrics for measuring and monitoring search quality.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Elasticsearch
- Demonstrated experience with performance tuning, query analysis, and relevance optimization in Elasticsearch at scale.
- Strong understanding of index design, mapping strategies, cluster management, and scoring/ranking mechanics.
- Familiarity with high availability, disaster recovery, and operational monitoring for Elasticsearch clusters.
- Ability to deploy new indexes or clusters as needed for load balancing or experimentation.
- Ability to translate product specifications into technical requirements and deploy ranking and relevance experiments with clearly defined success criteria and metrics.
Scala
- Strong experience writing, shipping, and maintaining Scala services in production.
- Comfortable working across a stack that also includes SQL and Python — Scala is the primary language for this engagement.
Agentic development
- Active user of AI development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or comparable AI-powered coding environments — shipping production code with them, not just using autocomplete.
- Familiarity with agentic coding patterns and workflows — code generation, refactoring, debugging, and test authoring.
- Able to articulate how AI tooling fits into their development process and where human judgment remains critical.
Engineering fundamentals
- First-hand experience building, scaling, and supporting large-scale data infrastructure systems in production.
- Strong understanding of database design, data architecture, and performance tuning across multiple data stores — MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Redis, or similar.
- Experience with high-volume messaging systems such as Kafka.
- Familiarity with AWS, GCP, or other cloud platforms.
- Strong peer code review practices.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience leveraging AI workflows for meaningful development acceleration beyond autocomplete — code generation, refactoring, debugging, and test authoring at scale.
When you join Solvd, you'll…
- Shape real-world AI-driven projects across key industries, working with clients from startup innovation to enterprise transformation.
- Be part of a global team with equal opportunities for collaboration across continents and cultures.
- Thrive in an inclusive environment that prioritizes continuous learning, innovation, and ethical AI standards.

MEET THE TEAM 👥
This role offers direct involvement in how a company is built and run: the choices about products, people, capital and execution that determine its success.
You’ll work with Barney and the leadership team to investigate difficult questions, develop independent recommendations and turn them into results. Your work might range from diagnosing why a product is underperforming to evaluating a new market, shaping a fundraising narrative or leading a company-wide initiative.
The standard is high. You’ll need to get deep into unfamiliar subjects, interrogate the numbers, challenge assumptions and explain your reasoning clearly. You’ll be expected to contribute your own view and take responsibility for what happens next.
As you build trust and context, you’ll take on greater autonomy, represent Barney in important discussions and own substantial work on his behalf. You’ll see how decisions play out and develop your judgement through direct experience.
For someone who intends to found a company, lead a business or become an investor, this is an opportunity to build the operating experience and commercial judgement to do it well.
ABOUT THE ROLE ✍️
We’re hiring a Chief of Staff to partner with our CEO. Working alongside the leadership team, you’ll be the right hand to our CEO, driving the priorities that matter most across Cleo 🌱
- Investigate consequential questions. Analyse markets, products, customer behaviour and business performance. Establish what the evidence says, identify the choices and trade-offs, and make a clear recommendation.
- Own major initiatives. Take priorities off the CEO’s plate and drive them from an ambiguous starting point through to delivery. Work across functions, establish ownership, resolve obstacles and stay accountable for the outcome.
- Improve business performance. Get close to Cleo’s numbers. Identify where results diverge from expectations, work with leaders to understand the causes and help drive a credible response.
- Support fundraising and board decisions. Work with the CEO, Finance and leadership team on rigorous analysis, compelling materials and a clear account of our strategy, performance and capital needs.
- Make leadership time count. Shape discussions around the decisions that matter, prepare useful briefs and follow commitments through to completion. Partner with the CEO’s EA to align his time with his priorities.
- Write and communicate with precision. Produce decision papers, presentations and internal and external communications. Make complex ideas understandable and the reasoning behind recommendations easy to assess.
- Exercise independent judgement. Surface uncomfortable facts, challenge assumptions constructively and explain what would change your view. Build relationships across the business so your recommendations are informed and your work gets done.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR 🕵️
We’re looking for someone with exceptional ability, independent judgement and the ambition to take on consequential work. You may have developed these qualities in strategy, finance, technology, research, entrepreneurship or another demanding field. We’ll assess the quality of your thinking, the difficulty of what you’ve taken on and what you personally achieved.
- A record of exceptional achievement. You’ve distinguished yourself through the quality and impact of your work. You can point to difficult problems you solved, significant responsibility you earned and results you personally delivered. We’ll want to understand your contribution and what made the work demanding.
- Intellectual depth and range. You’ve gone deep in at least one area and can get to grips with unfamiliar subjects quickly. You ask incisive questions, reason from first principles and connect ideas across disciplines.
- Independent judgement. You distinguish evidence from assumption, form a clear view and explain your reasoning. You’re comfortable challenging strong opinions, admitting uncertainty and changing your mind when the facts warrant it.
- Analytical and commercial ability. You’re confident working with numbers, interrogating business performance and evaluating trade-offs. You can turn incomplete information into a sound recommendation and connect detailed analysis to its implications for the company.
- A record of execution. You bring structure to open-ended problems and take ownership through to the outcome. You earn cooperation from strong colleagues, resolve obstacles and follow through without needing to be chased.
- Exceptional communication. You write precise, persuasive prose, listen carefully and make complex ideas clear. You can disagree constructively, earn credibility with senior leaders and represent the CEO’s thinking accurately while contributing your own.
- Ambition, composure and low ego. You seek significant responsibility, welcome direct feedback and hold yourself to a demanding standard. You remain effective under pressure, handle sensitive information with discretion and bring care to both consequential decisions and routine preparation.
- Intelligent use of AI. You actively use AI tools to accelerate research, analysis, writing and execution. You test their outputs and retain responsibility for the quality of your work.
We welcome unconventional paths and evidence of excellence from different settings. Be ready to show us how you think, what you’ve built or changed, and what you learned from the results.
What you’ll gain
Direct access to the CEO’s thinking, close work with experienced leaders and the opportunity to see your recommendations tested in a real business. Your responsibility will grow as you demonstrate judgement and deliver results.

Nebius is building the infrastructure that powers the next generation of AI — and we're scaling fast. In line with our values, we're committed to an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive, and we're looking for a skilled Environmental, Health & Safety Specialist to help embed the standards and capability that keep our expanding operations safe, compliant and sustainable.
This is no ordinary role. We need a proactive, credible specialist who takes ownership of EHS delivery on the ground — someone who can translate strategy into practical action, act as a trusted voice of EHS with site and regional teams, and stay close enough to the detail to guide, challenge and support when it matters most.
This is a genuine opportunity to shape how EHS operates as Nebius scales. You'll have real autonomy to set priorities, build capability across your sites, and influence decisions at a site and regional level — backed by strong support from senior stakeholders and a growing global EHS function.
You'll be accountable for the quality, consistency and culture of EHS across your sites — working through others, upholding the standards your teams work to, and stepping in personally when situations demand calm, experienced judgement under pressure. Apply and uphold the standard for construction, commissioning, operations, decommissioning and other high-risk activity, equipping frontline teams to manage risk on the ground.
Own the site EHS performance narrative — turning data into insight that drives decisions and accountable action plans.
Review site EHS data and performance metrics, acting on trends and insights to drive continuous improvement.
Support the environmental and sustainability agenda on your site, partnering with specialist teams to bring it to life day to day.
Represent Nebius locally with regulators, contractors and partners, protecting its credibility on EHS.
Champion Nebius's culture and values, embedding EHS as core to how your site operates.
What we're looking for
Credible, proactive, and people-focused. You'll bring:

Strong working knowledge of country legislation, with a track record of translating it into practical, workable controls.
A genuine subject-matter expert on the ground — able to go deep on technical detail and bring that expertise into every stakeholder conversation.
Proven experience leading incident response and investigations, including in high-pressure situations, with the composure to make sound decisions under stress.
A track record of building trust and credibility with stakeholders at every level.
A genuine coaching and mentoring mindset, with experience developing capability in others.
Strong organisational and prioritisation judgement — able to balance risk, workload and pace.
Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to advise, challenge constructively, and bring fresh ideas forward.
A continuous-improvement mindset and the appetite to grow within a scaling function.

Key responsibilities
- Own the EY relationship and joint GTM across APAC: executive sponsorship, joint account planning, pursuit support and governance.
- Own APAC GSI partner strategy, with EY as the anchor integrator.
- Drive EY engagement across ASEAN and APAC countries from Singapore.
- Convert or create global agreements and MPAs into named APAC deals; orchestrate multi-country pursuits across ASEAN and APAC countries.
- Architect joint GTM: messaging, ICP alignment, vertical use-case strategy, field plays and demand generation.
- Guide EY in building profitable Mistral service lines and certified delivery pods.
- Lead deal orchestration: partner qualification, commercial alignment, seating model, deal economics and delivery planning.
- Own partner scorecards, QBRs, pipeline reviews and performance analytics; ensure MPA, reseller/OEM and AI Lab frameworks are fit for multi-country use.
Must have
- 8–12+ years driving partner-led revenue with GSIs, hyperscalers, telcos or OEMs across APAC.
- Has worked at EY, or has directly managed the EY relationship (alliance, partnership or account leadership), with first-hand knowledge of how EY Consulting operates, including its service lines, practice and industry structure, alliance model, decision-making, and how deals are sold, staffed and governed.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a strategic GSI relationship and its joint GTM, operating at AI practice lead, industry MD and CTO level and converting or creating global agreements into named APAC deals.
- Track record engaging C-suite and securing multi-year commercial frameworks.
- Experience structuring multi-country pursuits, seating models and partner governance requiring MD-level sign-off, including across ASEAN and APAC countries.
- Commercial acumen in AI/cloud: able to translate AI Studio, sovereign AI and GPUaaS into clear revenue models.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with model deployment, GPU infrastructure or AI Lab concepts.
- Existing relationships within EY AI/Cloud practices.
- Prior use of hyperscaler funding (ECIF, MACC, OCP), MDF or co-sell pipelines.
- Exposure to sovereign AI or public-sector transformation in regulated APAC markets, including ASEAN.
Ideal backgrounds
Current or former EY Consulting leaders (alliance directors, AI/data practice leads, industry or sector leads), and leaders who have directly managed the EY relationship from a vendor, hyperscaler or technology partner side (e.g. senior partner sales managers at AWS, Microsoft or Google Cloud; partner account managers at Nvidia, Dell or HPE); regional or global alliance directors at Deloitte; GTM and strategic partnership leads at fast-growing AI, data or infrastructure vendors.
Languages: English required. Mandarin, Japanese or Korean a bonus for multi-country engagement. Bahasa (Indonesia/Malaysia), Thai, Vietnamese or Filipino a plus for ASEAN engagement.

Novakid is an online English school for kids. The Visitor Squad owns the funnel from first visit to paid lesson: landing pages, registration and booking, blog, and the visitor's personal account. We track two key metrics, visitor → lead and visitor → booking, and test almost everything we ship through experiments.
This is a backend-first role: about 70% backend (Python, some
Node.js
) and 30% frontend (React/TypeScript). You'll own the server side of the funnel: APIs behind registration, booking and the visitor account, attribution, and server-side integrations with ad platforms. When a feature needs frontend work, you'll take it end-to-end yourself. You'll work within the squad's processes: planning, grooming, code review, sprints and releases.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build and maintain Python services and APIs behind the funnel: registration, booking and the visitor account
Build and own server-side integrations with ad platforms (Meta CAPI, TikTok Events API and similar): event delivery, deduplication, retries and monitoring
Own attribution on the backend: end-to-end visit tracking, UTM persistence, and diagnosing gaps in V2L/V2B data
Keep services fast and reliable: caching, query optimization, debugging server-side rendering in our
Node.js/Express
layer
Investigate production incidents through Sentry and see them through to resolution
Support A/B testing on the server side: feature flags, rollouts, and cleanup after experiments
Ship frontend changes in React/TypeScript when a feature needs it
Requirements
5+ years of production backend development in Python, including services you designed, shipped and supported in production yourself
Strong backend fundamentals: API design, relational databases and SQL, caching, background jobs, and integrating third-party APIs (auth, rate limits, retries, idempotency)
Production debugging experience: logs, error tracking, finding the root cause of an issue
Node.js
: comfortable reading and changing an Express service
Working frontend skills: enough TypeScript and React to deliver a feature end-to-end. Expert level not required.
An understanding of how tracking data travels from click to report, and the ability to find where it gets lost
Product mindset: you work with metrics and hypotheses, not just tickets
Fluent English
Nice to Have
Server-side conversion tracking (CAPI, Events API, server-side GTM)
BigQuery: checking your own hypotheses with data
CDN and edge caching (CloudFront or similar)
GDPR and consent mechanisms
E2E testing with Playwright or Cypress
Our Tech Stack
Python,
Node.js
, Express (SSR), TypeScript, React,
Next.js
, Sentry, GrowthBook, BigQuery.

The role & impact
As an Engineering Manager in our Machine Learning & AI team, you'll lead a high-performing, inclusive team of engineers building and operating AI-powered experiences and capabilities across Xero. The team's work spans traditional machine learning, from predictive models and intelligent automation through to LLM-powered and agentic AI experiences that bring new ways for customers to interact with and get value from Xero.
- You'll lead engineering across a broad range of technology surfaces, from customer-facing AI experiences and intelligent product workflows to the backend services, platforms and infrastructure that power them. You'll help turn research, models and emerging AI capabilities into reliable, secure and scalable production products that make a real difference for millions of small businesses.
- You'll balance predictable delivery with a relentless focus on engineering quality and system health, building our maturity across MLOps, LLMOps, observability, evaluation and the operational practices needed to run AI systems in production. As AI continues to evolve, you'll also champion AI-native engineering practices and help your team adapt how we design, build, test and operate software.
- Working closely with senior individual contributors, including staff and principal engineers, you'll help shape technical direction while focusing on team growth, delivery excellence and sustainable engineering practices. This is a role for someone who wants to build both the systems and the people that enable Xero to deliver AI-powered products at scale.
The team & how they connect
You'll join Xero's Data & AI organisation, within the AI Products division, reporting to the GM of ML Engineering. The team partners closely with Applied Science, Data Engineering, Product and other engineering teams to bring AI capabilities from research and experimentation into production.
Our scope goes beyond building and serving models. We build the end-to-end engineering capabilities that bring AI to life in Xero's products, spanning traditional ML-powered automation and predictions, conversational AI assistants, LLM-powered workflows and agentic experiences. This means working across the full stack, integrating AI into customer experiences and product workflows while building the front end & backend services, platforms and infrastructure needed to make those experiences safe, reliable and scalable.
It's a collaborative, evolving space where you'll help translate advances in ML and generative AI into practical customer outcomes, while building the engineering foundations to support the next generation of AI-native products.
The team is currently working on
- Production ML and AI engineering: Building and operating the platforms, services and practices that support traditional ML models, generative AI and agentic systems in production.
- JAX (Just Ask Xero): Powering Xero's conversational GenAI assistant and evolving the underlying capabilities to support increasingly sophisticated, context-aware and agentic experiences.
- Intelligent financial workflows: Developing capabilities such as Automated Bank Reconciliation and smart document capture, using ML and AI to match transactions, extract information from bills and receipts, and automate complex tasks.
- XeroForce: Building the platform for AI-powered workflows, enabling agents to plan and execute complex tasks across Xero’s products and supporting reliable, reusable agentic experiences at scale.
- End-to-end AI product experiences: Integrating AI into customer-facing experiences and product workflows, alongside the backend services, orchestration and infrastructure that make them work.
Where and how you can work
We support a flexible working model that empowers you to balance your professional and personal life. You'll have the option to work in a hybrid capacity, combining the focus of remote work with the collaboration of our office spaces and team boost days to foster connection and alignment.
Here are some of the things we're looking for, for this role
- You'll bring a strong track record of leading, coaching and developing engineers, building team capability and creating an environment where people can do their best work.
- You have strong technical judgement across architecture, system design and engineering trade-offs, and can guide decisions across a broad and evolving technology landscape.
- You've translated business goals into executable engineering plans, balancing near-term delivery with long-term technical health and maintainability.
- You're experienced in delivering roadmaps predictably in fast-paced, evolving environments, navigating ambiguity and adapting as priorities and technology change.
- You understand what it takes to build and operate production-grade software, from customer-facing experiences and backend services through to distributed systems, platforms and infrastructure.
- You stay hands-on when it counts, comfortable writing, reviewing or debugging production code to unblock your team, support an incident or help resolve a complex technical challenge.
- Experience with machine learning, generative AI or AI-powered products is a bonus rather than a requirement. You don't need to be an ML specialist, but genuine curiosity about the space and an appetite to learn how these technologies are changing software engineering will help you thrive here.
Apply even if your experience isn't a perfect match! At Xero, we hire based on your skills, passion, and the unique perspective you can bring to enhance our culture and team.
