We’re introducing Rust where correctness, performance, and reliability truly matter.
Narvar
is Growing! Narvar is a multi-language platform, and we’re intentional about where we apply Rust. We’re looking for senior engineers to help us
bring Rust into the backbone of the system
— the parts that must be fast, safe, and correct under real-world scale.
This role is for engineers who want agency: people who enjoy identifying the right problems, choosing the right tools, and owning systems end-to-end. You won’t be handed a narrow ticket queue. You’ll help decide
what
gets built and
how
it should be built.
For this role, you should be located in Canada and able to work within EST/EDT or PDT/PST hours. We are fully remote.
Day-to-day
Design and build
high-correctness Rust services
that sit on critical platform paths
Introduce Rust into areas where safety, determinism, and performance are essential
Own systems from
architecture → implementation → rollout → operations
Make real decisions around concurrency, async boundaries, data integrity, and failure modes
Work across service boundaries in a
polyglot environment
(Rust alongside other stacks)
Collaborate with product, design, and frontend engineers to build systems that are technically sound
and
product-aware
Improve reliability, observability, and system behavior through design, not just patching
Mentor other engineers and raise the bar on system quality and ownership
What We’re Looking For
We care more about
judgment and ownership
than credentials.
You’re likely a strong fit if you:
Have built and operated
distributed systems
in production
Have
deep hands-on Rust experience
(not just experiments or side projects)
Understand where Rust shines — and where it doesn’t
Are comfortable reasoning about
concurrency, async systems, and correctness guarantees
Have experience designing APIs and data contracts that evolve safely over time
Have worked with
relational and/or NoSQL databases
at scale
Have deployed and operated services in
AWS or GCP
(We are a GCP Shop though!)
Take initiative naturally and are comfortable operating with ambiguity
Communicate clearly and make tradeoffs explicit
Bonus Points
These aren’t hard requirements, but strong indicators:
You’ve worked in
startup or high-ownership environments
You’ve owned systems in production, including on-call responsibility
You’re comfortable moving across the stack when needed (backend-first, full-stack aware)
You’ve influenced architecture by earning trust, not by mandate
You use modern tooling (including AI-assisted workflows) to
increase leverage
, not outsource thinking
(Note: we care about outcome and judgment, not how flashy your tools are.)
Why Rust at Narvar?
Because some parts of the system deserve stronger guarantees.
We use Rust where:
Bugs are expensive
Latency and throughput matter
Safety and correctness are non-negotiable
You’ll help define
where Rust belongs
, not just write Rust in isolation.
Why Narvar (From an Engineer’s Perspective)?
Real scale, real customers, real impacts
Startup-level ownership with platform-level impact
Teams that value
thinking, judgment, and responsibility
Low ego, high trust, and room to do your best work
Why Narvar?

- Strong understanding of SQL syntax writing and workflows; and a deep familiarity with file/data formats, such as markdown, JSON, XML, YAML, and HTML.
- Prior experience re-writing, proofreading, and delivering feedback on code.
- Familiarity with code agents (OpenCode, Claude Code, Codex) or evaluating agent trajectories is a plus.
The Candidate Journey:
- Initial Screening: Our Talent Team will review your application.
- First Assessment: If selected to move forward, you’ll receive a multiple-choice assessment by email.
- Second Assessment: Candidates who achieve a passing score will be contacted by a member of our team to complete a more comprehensive assessment focused on their area of expertise.
- Video Screen: If selected to move forward, you’ll have a short video call with a member of our Operations Team.
- Final: Selected candidates will receive an Independent Contractor Agreement.
As an independent contractor, you maintain control over how you complete your work and may work with multiple clients simultaneously. We request that you declare any external work relationships with Cohere’s direct competitors and always maintain the IP confidentiality of the Cohere project. Independent contractors are not eligible for health benefits or other benefits provided to employees. Compensation for services is provided to contractors by self-invoicing for services provided pursuant to the terms of our agreement with the contractor.
It is important to understand that, as an independent contractor, continuous work is not guaranteed. The client-contractor relationship is fundamentally project-based, meaning engagements may be temporary, periodic, or intermittent based on our organizational needs and project availability. As an independent contractor, you should anticipate fluctuations in workflow and, therefore, compensation for services when Cohere does not require as many hours of services in a week.
Prospective candidates, please be advised: this role involves working with human-generated and model-generated tasks that may involve exposure to not safe for work (NSFW) text content as part of data annotation tasks, including explicit, offensive, or other inappropriate material.
If the above qualifications do not perfectly align with your experience, we still encourage you to apply!
We value and celebrate diversity and strive to create an inclusive work environment for all. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and are committed to providing equal opportunities. Should you require any accommodations during the recruitment process, please submit an Accommodations Request Form, and we will work together to meet your needs.

An overview of this role
As the Director, Strategic Partnerships, you will own GitLab's relationships with its two major cloud infrastructure partners: AWS and Google Cloud. This is a single-threaded owner role, reporting to the VP, Corporate Development & Strategic Partnerships. You will shape partnership strategy from the top down and drive execution from the ground up, this is as much about running the weekly grind of a partnership as it is about setting its direction, turning strategic relationships into durable business outcomes.
You will own the commercial relationship end-to-end: managing GitLab's cloud infrastructure spend and consumption commitments, and leading renewal negotiations for enterprise agreements (e.g., EDPs, MACCs, or equivalent) before they come due. You will also own the technical and go-to-market side of each relationship: driving product integrations, shaping joint go-to-market strategy, and connecting GitLab's product roadmap and AI strategy to concrete partner initiatives. This is not a co-sell, channel, or revenue-through-partners role. Success here looks like disciplined commercial ownership, technical integration depth, and renewal outcomes that protect and grow GitLab's position, not partner-sourced pipeline or quota attainment.
This role sits close to GitLab's evolving AI strategy and the future of our AI-powered DevSecOps platform. You will develop a clear point of view, represent these partnerships with senior stakeholders, and personally drive the day-to-day work that spans multi-year planning and weekly execution, chasing down blockers, keeping workstreams on track, and doing the detailed follow-through yourself rather than delegating it.
What you'll do
Serve as the primary owner and point of contact for GitLab's cloud infrastructure partnerships with AWS and Google Cloud, personally accountable for the direction, operating rhythm, and outcomes of each.
Own the full commercial lifecycle of each relationship: negotiating rates and terms, tracking consumption against committed spend, and leading renewal negotiations well ahead of contract expiration.
Manage cloud infrastructure spend as a standing responsibility, partnering with Finance/FinOps on forecasting, true-ups, and cost optimization across both hyperscalers.
Drive product integrations with each partner, working directly with engineering and product management counterparts on both sides to identify, scope, and deliver joint technical initiatives.
Develop and lead joint go-to-market strategy for each partnership, connecting GitLab's business priorities, product roadmap, and AI strategy to concrete partner initiatives, and then own getting those plans executed.
Build strong working relationships across partner organizations, including executives, product management, engineering, sales, and marketing stakeholders.
Run a disciplined operating cadence across complex initiatives, with clear priorities, owners, timelines, coordination points, and follow-through you drive yourself.
Coordinate cross-functional work inside GitLab to support partnership goals, aligning teams across product, engineering, sales, marketing, finance, and the executive group.
Translate partner opportunities and requests into actionable internal plans, including roadmap discussions, integration needs, commercial terms, and executive recommendations.
Track and communicate measurable partnership outcomes such as spend efficiency, consumption trends, renewal terms secured, integration progress, and joint go-to-market execution.
Represent the partnerships at the executive level by preparing clear recommendations, briefing executives, and helping drive alignment on investments, trade-offs, and next steps.
What you'll bring
Significant experience owning strategic partnerships, alliance relationships, or vendor/commercial relationships in enterprise software, cloud, and/or AI, with a track record of being in the details, not just setting direction. This experience should reflect owning one or a small number of relationships in depth, not administering a large multi-partner channel ecosystem.
Direct experience managing enterprise cloud commercial agreements (e.g., EDP, MACC, or similar consumption/spend commitments) with at least one major hyperscaler, including experience owning a renewal cycle from expiration planning through negotiation and close.
Experience driving product or technical integrations with a cloud partner, and shaping joint go-to-market strategy that connects a product roadmap to partner initiatives.
Strong ownership mindset with the ability to operate as a single-threaded owner who is accountable for both strategy and execution, and comfortable doing the hands-on work personally rather than handing it off.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex commercial and partnership topics into clear recommendations for executives and cross-functional stakeholders.
Strong project and program management skills, including the ability to organize complex workstreams, prioritize effectively, and keep multiple initiatives moving through direct, hands-on management.
Genuine technical fluency in software development, platform integrations, and cloud infrastructure, with comfort engaging engineering and product counterparts in substantive conversations, not just positioning technology commercially.
Experience working with senior stakeholders on high-visibility initiatives, including preparing executive briefings, framing recommendations, and driving follow-through.
Ability to influence without formal authority, build strong working relationships across internal and external teams, and navigate multiple priorities with sound judgment.
Familiarity with the DevSecOps ecosystem and a results-oriented approach to measuring partnership impact through spend efficiency and business/product outcomes rather than partner-sourced revenue or quota attainment.
Preferred: candidates based in US Eastern or Central time zones, given close cross-functional coordination needs.

ABOUT RAMP
Ramp is building the smart infrastructure for finance teams, embedded in the transaction flow of every dollar a business spends. We automate how over $275B in annualized spend flows in and out of 85,000+ companies: authorizing payments, flagging risk, categorizing spend, and closing books.
The problems are high-stakes, data-dense, and unforgiving.
We hire people with high agency and high urgency. We look for slope over intercept. We care less about where you trained and more about what you’ve built. At Ramp, everyone is a builder who owns problems end to end and makes consequential decisions that shape the outcome.
The median Ramp customer saves 7.5% and grows revenue 16% in their first year – far in excess of businesses operating without Ramp. We believe every ambitious company deserves the same.
If you want to build systems that directly shape how companies move and manage billions, Ramp is the place to do it.
ABOUT THE TEAM & ROLE
Ramp's procurement product is changing how companies buy. We've built the fastest intake-to-pay platform on the market — 3x faster than traditional P2P workflows, with AI that automates sourcing, contract extraction, approval routing, and invoice matching in one place. Customers save an average of 16% on vendor spend annually and eliminate 46+ hours of manual purchasing work every month.
As Manager of Procurement Activation, you're the person who makes that real at scale. You'll lead a team of Procurement Activation Specialists working with Mid-Market customers, typically 100 to 999 employees, $50M to $100M in revenue, from discovery and configuration through go-live. Where your ICs work directly with CFOs and controllers to redesign how individual companies buy, you're building the system that makes those implementations excellent, repeatable, and fast.
🎯 WHAT YOU'LL DO
Lead & Develop the Team
- Hire, onboard, and develop Procurement Activation Specialists; own their ramp from week one to full independence
- Run structured 1:1s and coaching that moves ICs from reactive to proactive, and from execution to insight
- Build a team culture where CSMs, AMs, and AEs don't just loop you in on escalations — they come to your team first, before things get complicated
Define & Lead Strategy
- Build the Procurement Activation playbook from the ground up: define what excellent looks like at every stage — discovery, configuration, customer education, go-live — and codify it so the team can execute it consistently and independently
- Turn implementation patterns into structured product feedback Engineering and Product can act on. You're the bridge between what customers experience in the field and how the product gets better.
- Partner with Sales, AM, and CSM leadership to define how procurement deals get handed off, scoped, and resourced — and own those standards across the organization
Operationalize & Scale
- Build the implementation process to survive growth: as Ramp's procurement product ships new capabilities and the customer base expands, you're ahead of what needs to change
- Spot systemic blockers across implementations, drive resolution across functions. Product gaps, handoff failures, coverage issues.
- Represent procurement activation in GTM planning, headcount conversations, and roadmap discussions. This team has a seat at the table because you've earned it!
🧠 WHAT YOU BRING
- Procurement depth that earns the room: you understand procure-to-pay workflows, approval structures, ERP integrations, and vendor management well enough that a Controller or VP of Finance trusts your judgment on the first call.
- Real people development experience: you've managed or closely mentored ICs and can point to specific moments where someone's skills or confidence visibly changed because of how you worked with them. Formal management tenure matters less than the quality of those examples.
- Cross-functional influence without authority: you get alignment from people who don't report to you, communicate clearly at every level — AE, CSM, AM, VP — and hold your position when priorities compete
- You've built something people actually use: a playbook, a training program, an escalation framework — something you created from scratch that outlasted your direct involvement and others adopted as their own
- Writes and speaks with precision: you can walk a Controller through a procurement workflow and brief a VP on why an implementation is stalling, on the same day, in the same register of credibility
🌟 NICE TO HAVE
- Experience in a customer-facing implementation or success role at a procurement software company (Coupa, Zip, Procurify, Stampli, Ivalua, or similar) or working in Procurement at a previous company.
- Familiarity with AP automation, ERP integrations (NetSuite, QuickBooks), or invoice-to-payment workflows
- Background in CS, implementation, or solutions consulting in B2B SaaS
🏆 WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
At 6 months: You're onboarding new hires on your own, making customer escalation calls without day-to-day guidance, and you've built a real reputation as the procurement authority inside Ramp.
At 12 months: You're running independently and generating ideas that move procurement forward, not just executing what you inherited. You've influenced product direction based on patterns you spotted in the field. You have genuine relationships across CS, Sales, AM, and Product leadership — not just working ones. And the team you've built has changed how Ramp thinks about what a specialist program can do, with a clear path to doing the same in other product areas.

ABOUT THE TEAM & ROLE
Ramp's procurement product is changing how companies buy. We've built the fastest intake-to-pay platform on the market. 3x faster than traditional P2P workflows, with AI that automates sourcing, contract extraction, approval routing, and invoice matching in one place. Customers save an average of 16% on vendor spend annually and eliminate 46+ hours of manual purchasing work every month.
As a Procurement Product Activation Manager, you're the person who makes that real for our customers. You'll work directly with CFOs, controllers, and finance operations teams to design, configure, and launch Ramp's procurement product — helping them go from broken, manual buying processes to a streamlined system that their entire company actually uses.
This is not a "follow the playbook" implementation role. You'll be redesigning how companies buy things, which requires equal parts process consulting, product expertise, and relationship management.
🎯 WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Own procurement implementation for Commercial and upper Mid-Market accounts from close-won through go-live
- Partner with CFOs, finance ops, IT, and legal stakeholders to map existing procurement workflows and design their future-state on Ramp through a change management process
- When procurement and Bill Pay are both part of the deal, cover both — procurement is the priority, but you carry Bill Pay activation when it's bundled
- Provide structured product feedback to Ramp's Engineering and Product teams based on what you see across implementations — this is a core part of the role
- Partner with AEs and AMs when procurement configuration questions come up pre-close or during expansion
🧠 WHAT YOU BRING
- Real procurement depth: you've lived inside procure-to-pay — whether at a company managing purchasing or at a platform like Coupa, Zip, Procurify, Stampli, or Ivalua. PO creation, approval routing, invoice matching, and ERP sync aren't concepts you read about; they're things you've configured or managed.
- Customer-facing confidence: you run structured discovery, manage calls with multiple decision-makers, and can guide a Controller or AP Manager through a configuration decision without losing their trust
- Strong follow-through: multiple implementations running at once, nothing falls through, customers don't have to chase you
- Moves fast independently: Ramp's product ships constantly. You don't wait for someone to brief you on a new feature — you find it, figure it out, and update your approach.
- Sharp product instincts: you can tell the difference between a user error, a training gap, and a real product limitation — and you say so directly to Engineering and Product, not just "the customer asked for X."
🌟 NICE TO HAVE
- Experience at a procurement software company in an implementation, solutions, or customer success role
- Familiarity with NetSuite, QuickBooks, or other ERP systems and how they integrate with procurement tools
- Consulting background or experience at a company where structured discovery was a core skill. You know how to lead a call and leave with clear requirements
🏆 WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
- You're carrying 50–60 active implementations per quarter and customers are hitting go-live on schedule
- Your CSM counterparts know what you're working on and why — handoffs are clean, nothing falls through the cracks between implementation and ongoing success
- You've built or meaningfully improved at least one internal process — a playbook, a feedback loop with Product, a configuration template — that the team uses after you

ABOUT SOMNIA
The Somnia Foundation, backed by Improbable, specialises in building and operating high-performance decentralised technology. Its EVM L1, launched in 2025, has been benchmarked as the fastest on the planet: at over 1 million ERC-20 transactions per second.
At Somnia you'll be working alongside a talented team working across the core blockchain along with novel protocols leveraging its capabilities:
- Somnia Agents adding the ability for smart contracts to leverage the latest open-source LLMs and interact with the outside world via headless browsers, powered by on-chain deterministic LLM inference and a decentralised network of agent runners
- Prophecy an information oracle that can combine parsing of public websites and public data sources into decentralised, auditable attestations about the real world, powering prediction markets, forecasting and new types of financial systems
- DreamDEX a high-performance DEX with a fully on-chain CLOB leveraging on Somnia's core capabilities, targeting centralised exchange characteristics
- Somnia L1 continued work on the high-performance EVM L1, including working on MEV resistance, privacy, automatic gas sponsorship and 'reactivity' where smart contracts can autonomously invoke themselves based on specific timing or event criteria
ABOUT THE ROLE
We're looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to build and run Somnia's key backend services: the L1 and node fleet, RPC and indexing layers, product backends, and developer-facing services teams depend on. An SRE-minded role: you make reliability measurable, rollouts safe, and infrastructure repeatable, so every team can move fast without breaking things.
You treat infrastructure as a product: automate relentlessly, measure everything, and leverage AI to accelerate development, operations, and incident response.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Define and maintain SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets, plus the observability—metrics, logs, traces and alerts—that catches regressions before users do.
- Build repeatable, self-service infrastructure through infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD and golden paths so teams can provision, deploy and recover without reinventing the wheel.
- Own rollouts end-to-end—progressive delivery, canaries, safe migrations and clean rollbacks.
- Operate the systems behind Somnia's nodes, validators, RPC and indexing, tuning for performance and cost across regions.
- Lead incident response and on-call, run blameless postmortems, and continuously harden the platform.
- Partner with product and protocol teams to design and operate production-ready services. You'll rotate between embedding with engineering teams and building the shared platform, tooling and operational standards that underpin the wider organisation.
REQUIREMENTS
MUST HAVE
- Strong experience operating production infrastructure at scale (cloud and/or bare metal), with deep Linux fundamentals.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code such as Terraform or Pulumi, alongside configuration management.
- Experience running containers and orchestration platforms (Docker, Kubernetes) in production.
- Strong programming skills, ideally in Go and/or TypeScript, for building automation and internal tooling.
- Experience with observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry or equivalents).
- Experience operating and monitoring distributed systems, including capacity planning and performance tuning.
- Comfortable operating in high-stakes production environments and responding to incidents.
- Genuine interest in crypto and on-chain systems.
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience operating blockchain node infrastructure (validators, RPC, archive nodes) for an L1/L2.
- Experience with high-performance networking, low-latency systems or load balancing at scale.
- Multi-region and geo-distributed deployments with failover strategies.
- Security and key management (HSMs, secrets management, hardening).
- EVM tooling and the wider Web3 infrastructure ecosystem.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
- Engineers can deploy safely and frequently with confidence.
- Platform reliability is measurable, with well-defined SLOs and continuously improving service health.
- Infrastructure is automated, repeatable and increasingly self-service.
- Incidents become less frequent, easier to diagnose and faster to resolve.
- Product teams spend more time shipping features and less time managing infrastructure.
HOW WE WORK
- Agent maximalists: We are strong believers in agentic tooling being a massive accelerant to velocity beyond vibe coding prototypes: from equipping engineers with the latest tools through to agentic harnesses for security testing and end-to-end shipping fixes and small features.
- Ownership and autonomy: A lean team that optimises for individual impact and velocity. Engineers own features end-to-end, from idea to production, and are trusted to make the call to ship.
- Outcome-oriented: We take on hard technical problems, but the tech is always a means to an end. What matters is what ships and the impact it has, not cleverness for its own sake.
- Best tool for the job: We solve interesting problems in the simplest way possible. Mostly TypeScript for full-stack apps, C++ for high-performance systems, Go for infrastructure services and Solidity for smart contracts.
