ABOUT THE TEAM
The Mural Compose team is ambitious and fast-moving. We are passionate builders who love to experiment and iterate. Our project is seeking to leverage the latest technology in AI to acquire new customers and expand our revenue base as broadly as possible. This team is at the front of our product strategy and future growth.
YOUR MISSION
You'll lead the team behind one of Mural's most important bets. In the near term, you'll take our AI native product from early access to a product that customers rely on every day, raising quality, reliability, and speed as more users come on board.
Expect a very hands-on role. You'll review PRs, set the technical standards the team builds to, and stay close to the code and architecture decisions. You'll also keep the team's pace high and sustainable while building a high-performing team in a remote-first way.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Lead, hire, and grow a team of full-stack engineers through regular 1:1s, clear expectations, coaching, and performance management.
- Own delivery end to end with a fast, experimental loop: ship early to real users, measure what works, and iterate quickly without losing reliability.
- Partner with Product and Design as co-owners of the Compose roadmap, using customer feedback and usage data to decide what to build, cut, or double down on.
- Raise engineering craft across testing, observability, and AI-assisted development, and model Mural's remote-first, work-in-public culture at a sustainable pace.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- 2+ years managing software engineers directly, with responsibility for hiring, coaching, and performance management.
- 5+ years of prior experience as a software engineer building and operating production applications, with hands-on technical work in the last 3–4 years.
- A solid technical foundation, enough to lead architecture discussions and review code with credibility.
- A bias for experimentation: you make sound calls quickly, learn from data, and change course when the evidence says so.
- A people-first approach: you lead with empathy, listen first, and build the trust and psychological safety that help each person do their best work.
- Excellent communication skills, including explaining technical tradeoffs clearly to product, business, and customer stakeholders.
- Experience leading a team that shipped LLM-powered features to production, including evaluation, quality monitoring, and cost management.
- Experience building AI agents, retrieval systems, knowledge graphs, or familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP).

ABOUT THE TEAM
At Mural, we're changing how teams collaborate, think, and make decisions together. Growth Marketing sits inside Product and owns how people discover Mural and decide to start. Paid is a core acquisition engine for the business, working across both our self-serve and sales-assisted motions. You will own it end to end and work closely with partners across Product, Marketing, and Sales to turn demand into teams that rely on Mural.
YOUR MISSION
You will own Mural's paid marketing end to end: the channels, the budget, and the results. Paid plays a role across the full funnel and supports the different ways Mural grows, from building early awareness to reaching people when they are ready to act. You will bring these efforts together into one connected program, lean on experimentation and measurement to learn what works, and help turn marketing investment into durable growth.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Own strategy, budget, execution, and reporting for paid across search, paid social, and video and display, running it as one connected program across the full funnel.
- You will own Mural’s paid marketing end to end, with a focus on generating efficient growth across self-serve acquisition and sales-assisted demand. Success will be measured by the quality and volume of activated users, qualified pipeline, and revenue generated from paid investment.
- Build and run a continuous experimentation program across audiences, creative, landing pages, and offers.
- Lead agency and vendor partners to execute and scale the program.
- Partner with our Data team on attribution and measurement to connect paid spend to real outcomes.
- Partner across Marketing and Web on messaging and the post-click experience.
- Set performance targets and expand the program into new regions and languages, including EMEA and APAC.
- Support account-based and demand generation programs in close partnership with the Sales and RevOps teams.
- Use AI in your daily workflow to move faster across keyword, creative, analysis, and reporting work, with a point of view on where AI is changing paid marketing.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- 5+ years of hands-on B2B digital and performance marketing, owning paid search, paid social, and video or display with real budget responsibility.
- A full funnel operator comfortable across both self-serve growth and sales-assisted demand. You have owned awareness and demand creation, not only bottom funnel capture, and can show how top of funnel and account-based work pay off downstream.
- You design and read clean tests across audiences, creative, and landing pages, and you know what to do with an inconclusive result.
- Comfort living in the performance data, with hands-on fluency in SQL, product analytics, and BI tools.
- A real point of view on measurement. You know where last-click falls short and have used holdouts, incrementally, or media mix testing to judge channels that do not attribute cleanly.
- Experience running paid inside a self-serve or freemium model, with a feel for how acquisition connects to activation and retention.
- A self-starter who is motivated and scrappy, thinks through problems, and brings innovative solutions in a high-growth environment.

ABOUT THE TEAM
At Mural, we’re reimagining how teams think and create together. The Design and Research team brings clarity to complexity, shaping experiences that help people collaborate, ideate, and solve problems visually. We partner deeply with engineering, product, and research to invent the next generation of collaborative work combining craft, systems thinking, and bold exploration.
YOUR MISSION
As a Lead Product Designer focused on Growth, you’ll define how Mural earns user trust at the moments that matter most when someone first encounters the product's value, decides to go deeper, or chooses to stay.
This is end to end growth journey ownership. It's about designing the logic of how Mural grows: the moments where clarity converts, where friction is a design failure, and where the line between growth and product quality either holds or breaks. You'll work across discovery, activation, and pricing surfaces, onboarding paths, upgrade flows, lifecycle touchpoints, and in-product nudges. Most importantly, you'll orchestrate how those surfaces work together and set the standard for how growth design is practiced at Mural.
You'll succeed if you can bring full journey thinking, rigor and craft to a domain that often defaults to shortcuts and if you can help a cross-functional team understand what good growth design actually looks like.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
PLAYER RESPONSIBILITIES (INDIVIDUAL CONTRIBUTOR WORK):
- Define high-quality, user-centered discovery, activation, and monetization experiences across problem to success flows, upgrade flows, pricing surfaces, and lifecycle touchpoints — setting patterns that scale across the platform.
- Work from concept to production, delivering thoughtful UX, polished visual design, and vibe coded prototypes that help the organization understand direction, risk, and value.
- Use behavioral data as a primary design input: interpret funnel metrics, experiment results, and user signals to inform design decisions, not just validate them.
- Design and lead experiments across acquisition, activation, and expansion funnels — from hypothesis formation through read-out, in close partnership with product and data science.
- Establish reusable growth patterns in Mural's design system that balance clarity, persuasion, and long-term user trust.
- Partner with engineers to ensure accurate, high-quality implementation of flows and components.
COACHING RESPONSIBILITIES (PRACTICE LEADERSHIP & MANAGEMENT):
- Directly manage one to three designers on the growth surface: run regular 1:1s, set goals, give performance feedback, and support their career growth.
- Balance IC output with people leadership — this is a hands-on management role, not a full-time management track. Expect the majority of your time to remain in design work.
- Model how to hold craft and commercial intent simultaneously — showing peers what it looks like to design for conversion without compromising user trust.
- Mentor designers working on growth-adjacent surfaces, developing their instincts around hierarchy, motivation, friction, and funnel thinking.
- Contribute to how the team understands growth design as a discipline: a principled approach to earning user commitment.
- Champion the relationship between growth quality and product quality, helping leadership understand when they align and when they're in tension.
- Partner with research, data science, and product to elevate experimentation quality across the organization.
HYBRID RESPONSIBILITIES (BOTH PLAYER & COACH):
- Reframe problems at the funnel level helping teams understand where value is earned or lost and why.
- Lead workshops or working sessions that bring clarity to pricing, packaging, onboarding, and upgrade moment opportunities.
- Collaborate with product, research, and data science to define success metrics, shape experiment hypotheses, and interpret outcomes.
- Advocate for user trust as a growth asset, not an obstacle to conversion — and model how design holds that line.
DESIGN & RESEARCH TEAM CONTRIBUTION:
- Share growth approaches for designing discovery, onboarding, and identity flows with peers through critique and collaboration.
- Partner with research, data, and product teams to elevate experimentation quality and improve how Mural understands user value signals.
- Contribute to a culture of design excellence, especially in areas where growth and monetization intersect with core product experiences.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- 8+ years of product design experience, ideally in SaaS, productivity tools, collaboration software, or product-led growth environments.
- 2+ years of managing other designers
- A track record of leading growth, monetization, or conversion-focused design work — not just contributing to it.
- Deep fluency in funnel thinking: you understand acquisition, activation, retention, and expansion as a connected system, not isolated moments.
- Strong data instincts: you can read behavioral data, interpret experiment results, and use both to sharpen design decisions.
- Exceptional craft: visual clarity, spacing, motion, and interaction polish are second nature.
- Systems thinking: you understand how decisions cascade across surfaces, journeys, and user relationships over time.
- Experience mentoring or leading other designers, even informally — you know how to raise the quality of work around you.
- Strong communication skills that help cross-functional partners make smart, user-centered decisions.
- Comfort operating in spaces where patterns don’t yet exist and playbooks need to be written.
ALSO GREAT IF YOU BRING
- Experience with pricing architecture, packaging strategy, or monetization model design.
- Deep experience mapping and designing activation journeys — the full arc from first action to genuine value realization.
- Hands-on experience using AI-assisted tools and vibe coding to prototype growth flows, simulate behavioral nudges, and stress-test funnel logic in motion — treating code as a design material for rapid exploration.
- Background in organic acquisition or activation funnels at scale.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted experiences or contextual intelligence in growth flows.
- Experience working with data science teams on experimentation frameworks or causal inference.
- History of shaping 0→1 growth systems or redesigning broken acquisition or retention loops.
WHY YOU’LL LOVE MURAL
You’ll help shape how millions of people discover value in Mural, understand what the product can do for them, and make confident choices about their journey. You’ll design experiences that balance business goals with user trust, clarity, and delight. You’ll collaborate with thoughtful partners who care about evidence, craft, and outcomes.
At Mural, we “drink our own champagne” and use our product daily to collaborate, ideate, and prototype together. This role is Canada Remote. Your design work will shape how millions of people around the world collaborate.
Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

ABOUT THE TEAM
The Integrated Workflows team exists to expand Mural's value by embedding it seamlessly into the essential business workflows our customers already live in. We connect Mural to the tools that teams rely on every day, from the systems of record where work gets tracked to the places conversations happen and the surfaces content moves through.
That is what integrations unlock, and it is the most interesting thing about this team. When Mural can reach the work happening everywhere else, a canvas stops being a snapshot of one meeting and becomes a live surface for how a team operates: real context pulled in, real decisions pushed back out, nobody retyping a status update or hunting for the current version. A workshop stops ending at the wall of sticky notes and starts ending in tracked, owned, moving work. That is when collaboration gets genuinely effective, and building toward it is the point of everything we do.
Underneath all of that, we build the integration platform: the shared frameworks, services, and patterns that let any team at Mural ship a connected experience without starting from scratch. Our mission: to make Mural a natural part of daily work. We measure success by how indispensable Mural becomes inside real customer workflows, not by the number of integrations we ship.
YOUR MISSION
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Integrated Workflows team, you'll own significant parts of how Mural connects to the outside world. You'll design and build integrations that are reliable, secure, and genuinely used, and you'll turn one-off connector work into integration platform capabilities the rest of the company can build on.
This role sits at the intersection of product and platform. You'll work directly against third-party APIs and SDKs with all the ambiguity that entails: shifting contracts, rate limits, auth models, partner review processes. At the same time you'll keep our own abstractions clean and our public API stable for the developers who depend on it.
Senior Engineers at Mural lead, design, and implement complex technical projects, contribute to team and company-wide processes and culture, and provide mentorship and support for early-career colleagues.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Build and evolve two-way sync with the systems of record where customer work lives (Jira, Linear, Asana, and others), so decisions made on the canvas become tracked work and stay in sync as that work changes
- Design, build, and maintain integrations across the Microsoft ecosystem (Teams, Outlook, Office), video conferencing platforms, and third-party notification targets such as Slack and Teams
- Build and evolve the integration platform: the shared frameworks, services, and patterns other Mural teams use to ship their own connected experiences
- Own the content pathways in and out of Mural, including the import and image panels, third-party image APIs such as Unsplash, copy/paste to and from outside Mural, file upload handling, iFrame embedding, self-serve PDF to Mural conversion, and Mural exports and downloads
- Partner across teams on shared boundaries and hold up your side of those contracts, including render for exports, the notification engine, and company-level migration
- Maintain and support our public API for existing third-party developers, with the backwards-compatibility discipline a published interface demands
- Lead projects end to end, from research, design, and POC through execution, release, and iteration
- Build flexible and maintainable solutions while being accountable for quality, performance, reliability, and the security posture of everything crossing our system boundary
- Use AI tools as part of your fundamental workflows
- Design, plan, and implement automated testing and documentation strategies, including for the failure modes that only show up when someone else's API misbehaves
- Elevate the team's skills and knowledge by participating in technical designs and talks, and by reviewing and helping improve your and your colleagues' code
- Contribute to constantly improving the team's processes and best practices
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- Fluency in modern JavaScript/TypeScript and experience with technologies such as React, Node.js, or other modern frameworks

ABOUT THE TEAM
At Mural, we believe great collaboration starts with deep understanding. Our mission is to help teams think and work together better. The Design and Research team uncovers the truths that power that mission, guiding product, design, and strategy through rigorous, human-centered inquiry. We combine behavioral science, market insight, and creative exploration to shape Mural’s future for how teams ideate, align, and collaborate together across the world.
YOUR MISSION
As the Principal, User Researcher at Mural, you’ll start a UX research practice and lead foundational and strategic research that shapes how the company defines its next generation of experiences. You’ll partner across product, design, sales, marketing, and strategy to identify new opportunity spaces, clarify evolving user needs, and guide the organization toward long-term innovation.
This is a primarily individual-contributor role focused on uncovering deep human collaboration insights that drive strategy, innovation, and long-term vision. You’ll also help shape and scale the UXR discipline at Mural by mentoring designers to confidently run tactical usability studies, and establishing the frameworks and best practices that elevate research across the company. Think of it as being the first research leader at a fast-growing startup, with the reach and resources of a global platform.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Player Responsibilities (Individual Contributor Work):
- Lead mixed-methods research (qualitative and quantitative) that explores user needs, behaviors, and motivations across multiple product areas.
- Drive foundational studies that reveal how teams collaborate and what barriers exist in business collaboration, hybrid, and distributed work.
- Design and execute medium to large-scale studies that combine qualitative depth with quantitative rigor (surveys, logs analysis, segmentation, and concept testing).
- Develop a tempo where actionable insights are timely and urgently positioned to shape key product decisions.
- Translate ambiguous questions into clear learning plans and frameworks that guide product and strategy decisions.
- Build artifacts (archetypes, frameworks, journey maps, mental models) that make complex insights accessible and actionable across the company, leveraging Mural products.

- Collaborate closely with cross-functional leaders to prioritize research that informs Mural’s most critical next-generation bets.
- Facilitate workshops and storytelling sessions that bring insights to life and influence direction across product, design, and business strategy.
- Partner with Data Science and Market Research to integrate behavioral data, attitudinal insights, and business signals into cohesive, actionable narratives.
- Shape how research connects to strategy, innovation, and experimentation at every level of the company.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- 10+ years of UX Research experience, including deep expertise in both qualitative and quantitative methods. PhD optional.
- Proven track record leading foundational and strategic research that influenced product direction, vision, or long-term investments.
- Ability to design and execute mixed-methods research independently: from ethnographic and in-depth interviews to survey design and statistical analysis.
- Scale strategic insights: Experience driving organizational understanding through storytelling, synthesis, and actionable frameworks.
- Strong systems thinking skills, with an ability to connect human insight to product architecture and long-term design strategy.
- Experience shaping and scaling research practices in growing organizations.
- Comfortable working in ambiguity and helping cross-functional teams find clarity and alignment.
- Strong communicator who can engage both executive and hands-on audiences with empathy, clarity, and conviction.
WHY YOU'LL LOVE MURAL
You’ll shape new ways of working, as we interact with AI, team members, and customers. You’ll work on some of the most compelling and open-ended questions about the future of collaboration: how people align, make decisions, and innovate. You’ll have the freedom to define the big questions, run the right studies, and guide the company toward its next horizon.
At Mural, we “drink our own champagne” and leverage our product for online collaboration. This role is U.S. Remote. Your work will inform the strategy of a rapidly scaling company that believes research is the compass, not just the map.
