Head of Editorial Content (Volunteer)

Responsibilities: — Define and guide the journalistic voice, editorial standards, and publishing strategy for WeVote's blog and public newsletter channels. — Lead a volunteer team of writers, researchers, and newsletter co-leads to create engaging, clear, and nonpartisan editorial content. — Develop and execute the editorial calendar ensuring timely coverage of voting issues and civic participation trends. — Direct, coach, and support the volunteer team to produce compelling and accurate copy. — Maintain strict nonpartisan journalistic standards, fact-checking procedures, and editorial integrity. — Oversee publication of community and voter newsletters, ensuring strong engagement. — Collaborate with Political Data, Communications, and Product Marketing teams to integrate key data and campaign information. — Refine and maintain the editorial style guide and tone of voice for consistent quality. Requirements: — Minimum 3 years of experience in journalism, newsroom editing, publication management, or senior digital content roles. — Proven editorial leadership managing teams and schedules under deadlines. — Strong copyediting skills with meticulous attention to grammar, tone, factual accuracy, and nonpartisan objectivity. — Experience managing email newsletters and blog CMS. — Deep interest in voting rights, civic tech, voter education, and nonpartisan political participation. — Ability to work independently in a fully remote, asynchronous team environment.
