Principal Financial Analyst, Merchandising

Responsibilities: — Serve as a critical analytical partner to Merchandising and Category leadership teams, influencing pricing, promotions, assortment, and category profitability. — Independently query and model large-scale datasets in Snowflake. — Build sophisticated Price, Volume, Mix (PVM) analyses. — Own financial rigor behind new SKU and assortment launches, including forecasting, margin modeling, cannibalization analysis, and post-launch performance measurement. — Evaluate marketing spend and incrementality, partnering with Marketing and FP&A leadership to assess ROI and downstream impacts. — Lead in-depth financial modeling, scenario planning, and drive margin improvement, inventory efficiency, and category profitability. — Communicate data-dense findings clearly to senior stakeholders and drive cross-functional alignment. Requirements: — 7–10+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or merchandising finance, preferably in retail or ecommerce. — Proven experience partnering with Merchandising, Category, or Commercial leadership in operational finance. — Deep expertise in PVM analysis with ability to build models from scratch. — Extensive SQL skills for complex queries on large transactional datasets (Snowflake or equivalent). — Strong Power BI and advanced Excel skills for automated, scalable reporting. — Experience supporting new SKU, brand, or assortment launches financially. — Experience evaluating marketing spend and incrementality. — Strong foundation in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Data Analytics.
