Коротко о ролиIn this role you will develop our system – its architecture, APIs, contracts, and reusable modules, and as well implement and generalize specific game mechanics, turning successful solutions into new “building blocks” for the entire company. Experience with 2D/3D game engines (e.g., Cocos2d-x, Unity, or their equivalents).
Scorewarrior is a game developer and publisher based in Limassol, Cyprus, focused on the 4X strategy genre with the goal of making Total Battle the No. 1 strategy game worldwide. The team has 200+ professionals dedicated to high-quality games.
Tasks:
— Develop system architecture, APIs, contracts, and reusable modules.
— Implement and generalize specific game mechanics into reusable building blocks.
— Create and support core modules.
— Move code such as map logic and metagameplay to core responsibility via auditing, refactoring, and modularization.
— Redesign and refactor universal mechanisms for in-game special offers, promotions, buffs, and effects.
— Refine the HotReload system for seamless updates.
— Design an "instances" system for separate locations/scenes/subsystems with special game rules.
— Accelerate integration of new mechanics by identifying typical scenarios and migrating repetitive code into reusable core components.
— Create convenient API and clear documentation including guides, FAQs, and examples.
— Maintain core code quality through decomposition, code review, and refactoring without disruptive changes.
Requirements:
— 6+ years of commercial development experience.
— Knowledge of C++ or willingness to transition to it.
— Experience with 2D/3D game engines such as Cocos2d-x, Unity, or equivalents.
— Experience creating or supporting complex game projects (strategy, MMORPG, open world) or large mobile titles with continuous server sync.
— Experience developing reusable client-side logic/shared modules.
— Ability to navigate engine architecture and enhance/expand basic modules.
— Experience developing core libraries or tools for developer teams (internal frameworks, plugins, scripts).
— Knowledge of design patterns and principles (SOLID, GOF, KISS, YAGNI) and ability to decompose tasks and extract reusable components.
— Practical experience with profilers, templates, memory management, and multithreading.
— Understanding of key components like render, layers/scenes, animations/timelines, and Prefab.
— Performance optimization skills including profiling, render tracing, and memory handling.
— Ability to write testable code (unit, integration, automation tests).
— Basic understanding of build pipelines (iOS/Android) and mobile app lifecycles.
— English B1 or higher, Russian B2 or higher.
